Wow, this place used to be located across from Memorial Hospital. Dropped by at about 11:00 am on a Thursday. Perused the menu and decided on Chicken Tikka Masala Combo, with two side orders of Na’an, one plain the other garlic. Ice tea was the beverage. Interesting atmosphere that has smaller tables in modest surroundings. The Na’an was as fresh as it comes. Hot, steamy, and super delicious. The Chicken Tikka savory with a bit of a spicy kick. Not overly spicy, just enough. Absolutely Yummy. Brought back memories of Southwest Asia. Staff was friendly and attentive. Can’t recommend you try this little gem enough. Five stars isn’t enough to rate this eatery.

As soon as I stepped in the restaurant, I had this feeling that the dinning experience is going to be great. I’m thoroughly impressed and utterly content. I was treated to a symphony of tastes and textures. The chicken biryani was a fragrant masterpiece infused with aromatic spices with tender morsels of chicken. The staff is very kind and attentive. I appreciate their they maintaining the authentic flavor with cozy ambience, love the plants inside the restaurant. For my fellow food enthusiasts and those seeking authentic tastes of India and Pakistan. I recommend this place to you. You will leave with heart full of gratitude and a palate yearning for more.

Where do I start?I moved from New York about 12 years ago to Bakersfield California and I have always been looking for some really good Pakistani home cooked food! I had no idea this amazing restaurant / which is bakersfields best kept secret was here!!! Their chicken kebabs are second to none with amazing flavor! The Naans are so flaky and buttery!! Its a change from your traditional Indian food / And they have Fusion Mexican flavors available to.The Chicken Samosas are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I highly recommend them for anybody in Kern County! Their customer service is amazing also / always greeted with a smile.10/10

We had Kellys wonderful Chicken Tikka Masala, as well as the delectable Butter Chicken. Garlic Naan here is the best. Kelly and her staff are always so polite and kind, they make you feel at home. Also the prices are great. We will be back, and will be recommending to all of our friends and family. Bucky is a gracious and a kind man for helping to share his wifes amazing skill with the world. The Goat curry is amazing. The chicken tikka masala is decadent. The Naan is beautiful, lightly charred and kissed by the tandoori oven. Kellys passion for food rings in your soul. Everything on the menu is perfect. Clean practices, curtious and caring staff, beautifully priced, quality food and genuinely delicious. Kelly serves the definition of love on a plate. The customer service is unparalleled. Chicken masala tikka was uncooked and smelled raw, I could not eat more than 1 bite and told the owner (husband n wife) they just ignored, said we have cooked it thrice and also charged me for the whole thing. The salad was stale and super dry. They have 3 tv screens there when my 4 yrs old wanted to watch cartoons the server lady came took the remote and turned off the tv, saying, ’go home n watch ur tv’ leaving my poor son crying with tears. Rude owners and staff.

My friends and I stopped here for a late lunch driving from Joshua Tree to San Francisco.We tried a number of the Indian dishes and all were delicious! We forgot to ask for mild spice level so it was a bit spicy for our taste but the flavors still shone through. I have a nut allergy and they were very thorough in making sure that none of the dishes we ordered contained any nuts.The only thing I didn’t particularly like was that they used paper plates for serving.I forgot my purse here and didn’t realize until a couple hours later on our drive. Kelly was so kind as to mail it to me!I will definitely be back whenever I’m in the area.

I ordered a simple paneer Tikka and the cook told me that it was going to be a difficult entree to make and that shell have to charge me extra, I accepted the extra charge. The results were bad. Really oily and nowhere near okay. She was also rude and gave me the food with a here take it. I have no idea how this place has perfect ratings. In my opinion, this place does not pass a 1 star rating.Edit: I may have mistaken one word of the food name I ordered, but everything else is correct. My memorization of this place is 100% accurate. This is the restaurant where I had a face-to-face interaction with the woman who was rude to me. There was another lady in the back making Nan. I didnt see you, Bucky. If you were supposibly there, why didnt you say anything?? You really remember the day I came in? Stop trying to dismiss my review and making me appear as the confused customer. Do not blame the customer for your employees attitude towards them. And because of your treatment, Im happy I found other places in town where I dont get treated this way. Everything here is fantastic. My favorite is the Goat Curry and the chicken samosas, but I honestly have never had anything that wasnt excellent. The naan bread is freshly baked, and the Lamb Korma has a perfect amount of heat. The reviewer who said the food lacked flavor is crazy, as the flavors are what makes this place special.

An overall wonderful experience when you come to dine in here! You meet Kelly and Bucky- a married couple running this restaurant where Bucky is supporting his wife’s dream to open up her own restaurant. When someone is living their dreams, you know they are giving it their all. So with that said, you get high quality food and service. My mother and I came here for the first time and spoke to both Kelly and Bucky. They are such warm and kind people! We were talking about how I was traveling the next day and had to drive through the Tehachapi pass that had been closed, and he was so thoughtful in giving me advice on how I can watch the weather and to drive safe. It was just so kind.When it comes to the food, they have a fusion of traditional and also creative cuisines such as Caesar Chicken Salad with tandoori grilled and Indian spiced chicken! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and it tasted like slow cooked American bbq with Indian spices. It was delicious! And the pricing is better than any other of the Indian restaurants I price checked. Same price as others, but you also get rice- salad, naan, and yogurt with your entree! I really appreciated this! Also, I’m always wishing there were more vegetables when I eat Indian food and was very happy with the included salad.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Please come and experience this for yourself!

The food is so delicious here! Kelly is also very sweet and cares about her customers. She keeps the prices reasonable and the portions are perfect.Back when the restaurant was located across the street from Memorial Hospital I was visiting am ill family member and decided to walk across the street for some of her excellent cooking. I had been a few times before but hadnt really paid attention to the posted hours so I didnt know she closed so early (I think they closed at 5pm back then). I arrived about a half hour after they closed, but the door was unlocked and I hadnt noticed the closed sign. She was cleaning up the kitchen and informed me that they were closed but said, I can still make you something real quick. I dont have anywhere important to be after this.That really made me feel like she cares about feeding her customers and not just about the money.My only complaint is that they close so early. If it werent for that I would eat there more often.Thanks again, Kelly! You are great and so is your food!

Family Owned Restaurant with Incredible FoodI met Kelly, one of the owners, after being told that there was a small restaurant that had vegan options. My husband picked up the food on his way home. I was so impressed with the delicious flavors I was tasting. That was probably 5+ years ago. We keep going back. My mother always loved their food when we stopped by for lunch. Maria, who works in the back, is always friendly and made my mother feel welcomed there. I’ve ordered the chana masala (chickpeas in a wonderful sauce), lentils, cauliflower with potatoes or eggplant. Kelly always welcomes me with a smile and has some delicious surprise. I usually swing by and take 2 or 3 vegan options she has for the day. Doesn’t matter what it is because It is always delicious.I’ve since met Bucky, the other half of this team. Kind and soft spoken man with a lovely accent. If you haven’t stopped by yet, it is a must try.

Travelled through and so lucky to find this place. Had the bindhi and dhal and both was really delicious. Everything tasted very authentic and wow what great value for money! Chai and mango lassi were great too and not too sweet at all which I loved. Totally recommend!

Fantastic family owned restaurant. I’ve come here a few times before and always enjoyed the authentic home cooked Desi food. I ordered samosas, Haleem, shish kabob wrap and nehari. Generous portion sizes and the food was delicious. As far as I know, it’s the only place in Bakersfield that serves Haleem and Nehari. The service is also super quick. I ordered 20 minutes ahead of time and by the time I arrived (5min early) it was already ready :)

Was looking for good tandoor restaurant in the middle of long ride. There were few options on the way, mostly places i visited earlier. I was instinctively lucky, glad i picked it.Ordeed goat curry, bhindi curry and daal. It came with rice and roti. Authentic taste, favorful,.. not overpowering with spices.Definitely i return whenever i pass through Bakersfield

I was first introduced to this restaurant in 2015 and since then, I have not stopped going. I love the meat somosas! Theyre so freaking good and filling. I also love the chicken tikka masala. Definitely recommend trying it out!

Food is good and portions are good. Chicken tika masala and dal are my favorites. Staff are friendly and call in orders are ready to go when i get there. Naan pieces are large. They also have other types of food like tri tip and tacos. Will be back

My Egyptian friend invited me to taste the food that he so much loves and brought me to taste the dishes from Kellys Tandoori Grill. An inventive and creative cook enthusiast myself, I would have to rate the food here as my top 3 favorite foods ever eaten. Kelly (the owner and chef) cooks and prepares all her food and takes pride in everything she serves. The food is always fresh and the meals are consistently flavorful and enjoyable to the last bite. I literally come to this restaurant at least 3 times a week. This is real food with real flavor. Dont miss the opportunity to experience what youre missing...a real meal.
