2023-12-08 05:46:40Love the environment and the vibe - hard to describe what it is but it’s vivid, lively, chill, and comfortable.Food is great. Uni rice is a must try.Drinks are good. Tried both takeout as well as dine-in - both good options. If I can have one complaint (more so of a recommendation ), I spent $70 here for a meal but I was still hungry after it… a slightly bigger portion would be fantastic! Doesn’t change my 5-star rating though.

2023-11-04 21:20:37Delicious food; definitely on the bougie and pricey side with not necessarily large portions, but I think it was well worth it if you go in knowing what to expect.I think the highlight of the night has got to be the scallops with the uni sauce; which had such a strong uni flavour and very cool aromas from the actively smokey charcoals they serve the scallops over. Make sure not to lose a single ikura through the grates!Other high points i’d recommend include the salmon and ikura benedict and the matcha brulee! Cocktails were also great.

2023-08-20 00:05:54Honestly, this place is so good and I do think the price is worth it since theres no other place like it (at least that Ive been to and I generally am a pretty cheap person LOL) The food is so delicious and not too salty at all. The fish and chips are surprisingly huge even though we ordered the small and the fries were so good. I liked everything but would skip the bread with the salmon roe. My stand outs are the temperua veggies, so crisp and delicious and all the fish. I love the rice bowls since they were crispy from the clay pot. The creme Brulee was also divine with a strong matcha flavor. The service was very nice with our waitress checking in two/three times, making sure our water was filled, and for asking us if weve been there before. She also complimented my pants on the way out. I would definitely recommend this place to try for special occasions but make sure to bring a large party as the restaurant recommends to do family style so that you can try more dishes! (Also this place is $30-50 per person but my family just ordered a lot)

2023-08-23 10:14:20One of my favorite local Japanese restaurants. Its a bit pricey, but everything is done to a high level. Nice ambience and service. They have a wide array of dishes including yakitori, udon, tempura, Japanese paella, and many other original creations. I would highly recommend their beef tongue, wagyu garlic rice, and ox tail udon, among many other dishes.

2023-10-05 07:19:02Some of the signature food is good. Especially the signature edamame, Kemuri Udon, and the charcoal grills. It was kind of crowded, but they still have a table for walk-ins on Wed night.I still like to try and find what’s the best menu here.

2023-06-24 01:22:22Delicious drinks and food. The sake-jito was really good. The appetizer were very appealing. Perhaps the best edamame ever? Veg tempura was crisp and not soggy. Amazing corn tempura.Rice based veggie box with tofu was delicious. Flavorful and satisfying. The service wasnt super but no issues. Food comes out in weird order.

2023-05-22 00:37:24My favorite restaurant in RWC. Nice staff who remember you. A rotating menu with restaurant staples offering fresh fish, Japanese style fried food, udon, and more! A great sake menu without an obscene upcharge. Refreshing cocktails to boot! Great food for a great price!

2022-10-05 02:29:43Restaurant had a lot of open seats at 6:30pm on a Tuesday night. Lots of free street parking around here. You order all your food online on a running tab for your table. Prices are expensive, but quite valuable. The smoked poke was a highlight and the veggie tempura was very fresh and worth it.They dont have a lot of basic Japanese cuisine like sushi or curry rice, but instead have a menu filled with really interesting items. Staff are very nice and attentive.Thank you!

2023-07-08 18:04:49Poppin at 9pm on a Friday night.Uni chawanmushi 5/5 texture and flavor was great, bread was great tooBeef tongue 4.5/5 really well cooked and seasoned beef tongue, could use more lemon slicesSalmon Benedict 3.7/5 filling, unique, and good flavors but the crispy rice got a bit stuck in my teeth texture after a few minutesSesame Ice cream 3.7/5 ice cream texture was a little too icy but the crispy bits at the bottom were greatmiso oxtail soup 3.5/5 oversalted but nice tofu chunks and strong oxtail flavor for the pricefried shiitake 3.5/5 was a little one dimensional and got a tired of it towards the endRoasted cauliflower 3.3/5 way oversalted, decent texture otherwiseGenmaicha Flan with yuzu 3/5 yuzu flavor didnt go great with the roasted tea flavor, dish was better after eating yuzu syrup separately.
