Took my sister here for her birthday today December 5, 2023. She is a vegetarian and wanting to experience vegan sushi. This place was in not so good neighborhood. The restaurants atmosphere was nice. The music was soft and not too loud. There wasnt very many people there. We were there around lunchtime. The service was OK. The waiter was helpful if we had any questions.Food quality: The presentation of the food looked incredible. A couple of the rolls fell apart as we were trying to eat them. One of the rolls tasted so bad that after we had one bite, we didnt have the rest of the role. The roll that fell apart was the best role there, which was called the Sweet P. Three out of the four rolls that we had were fried. The edamame were very spicy, but good.After 25 minutes of being there, I had diarrhea and stomach problems. I had to wait 10 minutes to use the restroom that they had there. Because one of the staff members were using the restroom.My sister also had stomach problems after eating there and shortly after leaving. Had to use the restroom. Once I got home which was only a 30 minute drive I then had diarrhea again. Still not feeling good after an hour and a half.We will not be going back to this restaurant. We spent $88 there and it was not worth one penny.

Finally! A place to get vegan Hawaiian plates, and they are delicious!! The staff is really friendly and the food here is great. I can’t wait to come back to try everything on their menu.Not all their menu items are listed on their printed menu. I recommend checking out Kensho’s Instagram for specials or other items that might not be listed.

This place is phenomenal. Our server Kelvin was kind, attentive, and gave us wonderful recommendations since we had never been before. I devoured my entire roll, and my husband finished all 3 of his rolls. The entire place is vegan which is so rare. Everything I tasted was absolutely delicious!

Place was AMAZING. This is the first time my Vegan Wife has got a chance to enjoy sushi to the fullest and we can’t thank this place enough for the beautiful experience. She also has Celiac disease and this place was very accommodating. Will come back every time we’re in town for sure. The Ninja was just perfect without even adding soy sauce or anything to it. Firstly, the waitress was so sweet, and patient. I ordered the Tempura Squash Blossom, Spider Roll, Crunchy California Roll, and ice cream mochi. The Tempura Squash blossom is filled with their house-made cream cheese, which was mouthwatering and tasted just like cream cheese. The sushi tasted like actual sushi, this is the best sushi spot to introduce your non-vegan friends to!

An honest view coming from a non-vegan:Pros:- Very clean and aesthetic place- Didnt have to wait long for service- Heavy dense food- Very tasty and relatively healthyCons:- Does not taste like Sushi at all.- Food comes out a little slow- Very expensive for basic rollsI probably wont come back but I would still recommend it to people who have allergies or are vegan!

People werent lying when they said this place has some of the best rolls ever (despite it being vegan). If youre reluctant--dont be; I was, but I decided to go with my vegan friend and it was both our first time.. Totally mind-blown. Definitely take your non vegan friends here--its affordable, you can all order a bunch of rolls and share, it tastes absolutely great, and youll be satisfied without feeling bloated or weighed down! On top of that: good music, great service, and friendly staff.We got the yoga fire, cali crunch, and the don, which were all RLY GOOD. Some people may think its not all that amazing or taste like standard rolls; I get it, but I think the wow factor comes from knowing its all plant-based, you leave feeling good, and that it really tastes like the rolls you know and love--minus the fish/seafood.Its a hole-in-the-wall kinda joint; a bit spacious and lacking in decor, but still cute for a lunch date. I liked sitting at the booth.Personally not a vegan but Im considering this place to be my new fav spot 😳 Dont walk, RUN (to this place)!

Came in here today for lunch with some friends, and wow! Everything was so good. We got quite a few things all together and it was all very tasty and well presented. Our server was Kamari and she was great! We were a pretty rowdy crowd, and she was so friendly and outgoing and totally matched our energy! We had a great time. Strongly recommend.

I love this new location! The parking is so much easier, the interior is nicer and more upscale, the service is great, and the food is still delicious and very fresh. Don’t pass on the Mochi either, very flavorful and not chewy.

Love this place! Their customer service is top notch, sushi delicious and I really appreciate their stance on social issues and how they speak out on their social media. We started coming a couple years ago for my husbands birthday. They made it special by bringing him out a little dessert and singing. Every since then, we come as often as we can!Update: I still love everything about Kensho. Food, staff, owner and service is always great.Theyve done lots of upgrades to the spot since my last visit and it looks great. Kelvin the server/host was amazing this visit. Love all the gf options as well.

I remember when Kensho first opened at another location. They were a little hole-in-the-wall that turned out to be the towns best kept secret that everyone heard about. There was always a line and now they have moved into a larger location which is perfect for them! The shocker is that all of the sushi rolls are vegan! They make delicious rolls. You must try them!

Terrible vegan sushi, got food poisoning and suffered with upset stomach for the entire night and morning. On top of that most dishes don’t have flavor and rely on deep fried ingredients, ingredients aren’t fresh fried onions in one of the dishes were stale.Don’t understand the high reviews and am never coming back. I typically love vegan sushi this is most definitely not the place. It’s too expensive for what it is.

Was really disappointed by this place. They have a great instagram and amazing reviews. Most of the 6 or 7 rolls, Id give 1 star except the spider roll, which was a 5/5 and they have the best strawberry kombucha on tap that I had ever had. But I dont think considering the rest of the 6 rolls that I could ever go back. Other vegan sushi spots in the LA area are soo much better. They are also very under staffed 1 sever was definitely not enough to properly serve the entire restaurant, but that server did do their best. I had really righ hopes for this place as I went there for my birthday but it was nothing like I expected.

Delicious sushi, one would be hard pressed to tell the difference between fishless rolls and hand rolls versus traditional ones. The flavors are accurate to what you would find a quality Japanese restaurant. In addition, theyre constantly adding new options to their menu why keeping customer favorites. I have been coming here for a few years and the quality of the food has remained consistently good.The atmosphere and service varies, it seems like they have difficulty maintaining a regular wait staff, and their storefront is slowly being completed. Very bare and minimal, no sushi bar.Overall, I support this restaurant, hoping itll pick up in popularity. There arent many good vegan sushi places, and I would be devastated if were to not be successful.Sometimes their cook staff is also short hand and wait times can be long, but they offer take out so you dont have to wait. But the wait is definitely worth it.A little on the pricey side, but you wont find anything else like Kensho in OC.

I am an avid sushi lover, I am from Vegas so AYCE is life. I got the recommendation to come try Kensho and experience vegan sushi. Not going to lie I was a little anxious, skeptical, but man o man was it life changing. The Ninja rolls and Crunchy Cali rolls were my favorite! 10/10 I would recommend everyone to come try vegan sushi. Thank you guys!

The staff were nice, the parking lot was okay, and the restaurant was spacious. The staff let us know in advance that the wait would be long so I waited patiently to try the sushi. Vegan sushi just hits differently. I do not understand the taste of the food, but other customers seemed to enjoy it more than me. Maybe sushi is not my dish to try being a vegan.

100% vegan. 100% delicious. Kensho is the best vegan sushi out there and the only one I know of in Orange County. You can get more than your average cucumber or avacado roll because mock meats are available. I highly encourage anyone to check this place out. Theyre open Tuesday-Sunday 5pm-10pm

Absolutely incredible!!! My girlfriend is vegan, I’m not. She often struggles to enjoy sushi due to a lack of variety for vegan options, we both were SOOOOOO happy! Honestly, the sweet potato roll was one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever had in my life. The “pork” sashimi was also amazing. We both walked out extremely satisfied and stuffed. First off, this place is a bit hard to find. Google map would show a marker in the center of the plaza but its really at the end next to US Tours and the signage above says “Quan Chay Long Hoa Vegan” not Kensho. You’ll see Kensho above the glass door entrance next to their #125 suite number.Second, they have two locations so make sure you’re ordering from the Westminster location on Bolsa and Buschard.No dine in so we did take out. It came in a brown paper bag with chop sticks, soy sauce, wasabi and ginger packets. The wasabi paste is product of Japan, I didn’t like the ginger, it was wet, thin, and mushy.I got two rolls: The Crunchy Cali and Yoga Fire. Both had shrimp, avocado, cucumber but with different texture, sauce and toppings.Crunchy Cali roll was extra crispy with the panko. The end pieces were the best! The sauce made it sweet and the whole piece was like creamy Mayo.Yoga Fire had the AF sauce which was a spicy kick that made my lips tingle. Had the creaminess from the avocado. To resemble tuna on top, it was made with some type of soy like tofu.The best way for me to describe the shrimp is that it taste like Loving Hut shrimp. If you’re vegan, you know what I’m talking about.

Vegan sushi is my favorite type of food, ever.I have been excited to come here for months and finally did. We saw online that the Yorba Linda location was closed so came to the Westminster location.The restaurant looks a bit make shift, like theres plywood as a divider at the front and the host stand is as well.There arent many seating options aside from the bar. We had two larger parties come in while my husband and I were trying to enjoy an early dinner around 4pm. Our server barely checked in with us, took over 15 minutes for us to get our water let alone get a refill at some point. Overall our server had almost no kindness in his approach to us.When a large party was sat next to us we heard their server mention that orders may be delayed as they were dealing with a lot of to-go orders (we figured as much since we had been waiting a very long time). There were to-go orders being put out like no ones business, but orders in house were taking well over 35 minutes for even appetizers.We wanted to order more food but chose not to because of how long it took/ our server rushed us out the door do you want the check?, never asked us how we were, nothing.It was some of the worst service weve experienced in a long time. The food was pretty decent, even though my roll was falling apart.The bathroom was completely disgusting, that alone was terrifying!Well be waiting to come back for when everyone can get their act together. It felt like teenagers were calling the shots, no friendliness and general cold vibe. The chefs behind the counter shouldnt be at fault here though. Super disappointed.

I regularly drive an hour round-trip to come here and it’s always worth it. It’s my go to for bringing out of town friends & family if I want to impress them, vegan or not. The rolls are fantastic—I’ve tried a lot of vegan sushi and this is by far my favorite place I’ve ever been. The servers are also always very kind and helpful. It’s often busy but they’ll do their best to accommodate you or offer a takeout order if there won’t be seats available in a reasonable time frame. My only wish is that they’d stay open a bit later so I could come more often!

They are in a new location. Currently, they have same offerings as they did when they opened in Westminster on Bolsa. Parking is much better. There is more seating here. This place is doing take-out and limited dine in. We tried putting in a takeout order using GrubHub but it said the restaurant wasnt accepting so had to put one in when we got there. They informed us that it would be over an hour worth of wait for a full takeout and ~25 mins for a dish. We requested the yoga and cali crunch roll. Yoga roll was ok, but cali crunch was delicious. Its upwards of 10 dollars for a roll but the rolls have 10ish pieces so they are huge! Theres limited parking out front.

Absolutely love garlic Edamame for starters.Spicy Tuna Sushi and Crunch Cali sushi suited the best to my Indian taste buds. Ask for extra spicy mayo and garlic with wasabi is just right with sushi. Absolutely delicious food and friendly service. Parking is a little tight but we always manage to find a spot. I recommend the Ninja roll and the Caterpillar roll. The miso soup is also very good. The only reason Im not giving a full 5 stars is because they dont have air conditioning and eating in there in the summer can turn into a sweaty affair.

The roll that was a California roll with salmon on top was delicious.The decor was extremely minimal.. it looks like theyre in the middle of redecorating.There is no alcohol, so you cant have beer with your sushi.Overall tasty but with a decor etc it might be better to get it to go.

Ownership displays themes of deflecting with fraud and dishonesty with the very community which supports them, this must be why the service takes 1.5hours to get your online orders, ownership goes out of their way to delete publicly posted concerns regarding the dishonesty and fraud committed by them - which tells us all we need to know with their lack of honesty and transparency. Would not recommend coming to eat here unless you enjoy waiting 1.5 hours for an online order. Food was ok, mediocre at best but I’ve had better for less monies. If you are hoping and expecting super tasty I Would not recommend the spider roll or ramen from here

Ate dinner here, I do not recommend this establishment due to the slow service of taking 2 hours to get my order for dinner. One person was cooking and the other person was multitasking - filling orders, hostessing, bussing and serving. A very stressful environment for the one person show, ownership seems cheap in not having more employees due to expecting one person to do all the work. The food was filled of sodium my blood pressure became sky high and severe heartburn lasting 24 hours after eating my food that finally arrived 2 hours after ordering it. Being vegan you’d hope for a little better. Very expensive for low qualityfood. It seems ownership cares more about profit than their customers who come and pay them in good faith for quality. Stay away.

I’ve been going to Kensho for almost 2 years at this point. The food tastes really great, however the past few times I’ve gone recently there have been issues in getting the food out quickly. The last time I went it took an hour for one roll to come out, and there were only two other tables seated. Every time I’ve come in when the wait time has been horrible none of the people working even gave us a slight heads up that we would spend the majority of our time waiting. When I first started going this wasn’t the case, but within the past few months it has. While the food tastes good, when it eventually does come out, I don’t think the wait is worth it.

Ive had sushi maybe once or twice in my life, because typically it is not vegetarian or vegan friendly. However trying to sushi at this location really opened up my eyes to how good it can be! I ordered with a group of friends and we tried a variety of the vegan options (everything is vegan on the menu). All of the different plates were amazing, I am a huge fan after just trying this once. Simply perfect! I was overjoyed to find an all-vegan sushi spot, and Kenshō delivered.We ordered three specialty rolls - Crunchy Cali, Sweet P and Spider Roll. They were all prepared with super fresh high-quality ingredients, and very generous portions. We were craving Vegan noodles or Sushi and decided on Kensho. We each got a ramen. We shared the Gyoza, seaweed salad, salmon and spam Nigiri, crunchy Cali roll. For dessert we had Machi ice cream. We found everything to be delicious. The ramen was to spicy for her but she has zero tolerance for spice. I didnt taste any heat, but I have high tolerance to spice. Our server was amazing. I always crave this and will make time to drive 20 minutes further than a sushi place that just has avocado rolls for vegans. The fried shrimp inside is always cooked perfectly and the little bit of crunch it gives the roll makes it such a delight to eat. Its got some spice to it, but its not overwhelming. Just enough to compliment the flavors of the roll.The caterpillar roll is very fresh tasting and I love the mushroom filling. The sauces on both these rolls are super tasty too. I do the soy sauce and Wasabi mix as a dip as well and that just puts the cherry on top. As far as pricing, I got those two rolls today and a Martinellis apple juice for about $30 bux. So it is not cheap, but its on par with other decent sushi spots and I think its definitely worth it. I always feel happy and satisfied after I eat at Kenshõ and never regretful.If youre looking for delicious sushi (vegan or not) that has fresh ingredients, good portion sizes, and friendly service, feel confident that Kenshõ is the place to go.

I was in Westminster today and wondered if there were any good vegetarian places nearby. Turns out Little Saigon is a thing in Westminster and if anybody knows vegetarian its the Vietnamese. There were too many vegetarian Vietnamese restaurants to choose from, but this place stood out among them because it was sushi. Great! I was actually in the mood for sushi and I hadnt had vegetarian sushi in maybe a decade.The place was a little easy to miss so I double checked street view and managed to figure out where it was. It was in the afternoon when I went and it wasnt super busy; the vibe was extremely chilled out and cozy due to the small space and selection of music. They were playing what sounded like city pop on the speakers and between that and my server wearing a Street Fighter shirt I immediately got the impression that this was a hip place. I was glad to have come here even before I ordered.I ordered a miso soup and the crunchy roll. The roll was huge and delicious. The miso soup was a bit lacking; it didnt have the richness or saltiness I am used to with miso soup, which was disappointing, but it might be because it doesnt have bonito in it. Still, I think vegan miso soup could still be a little more flavorful than this was. I was mostly full on just the roll and soup but I hadnt eaten all day and I was enjoying the company of my server so I decided to hang out for a little while longer and I ordered a hand roll, which was pretty good.I definitely want to come back to this place. Itd be a great place to bring my girlfriend. I wish I lived a little closer, though; its a bit out of the way but if Im ever in the area again Im definitely stopping by.

I came into this place looking for some rice and miso soup which the soup was good but the tofu a pinch too firm and they seemed reasonably priced but very stingy with the rice the rice container to go was very small it was the same sized as the to go miso soup which is sad because thats all I can eat at the moment I already ate everything basically within the first 2 minutes of being home and Im still hungry I can literally go anywhere else and they will hand me a much bigger container of rice how can you literally be stingy with rice????
