Our favorite Thai restaurant! The food and service is really nice, we loved the Kareem roti and the fried banana. They made sure to refill our iced tea all the time. We cant wait to come back again.

This place is such a solid Thai spot with so many affordable options. The workers were so nice and our food came out quickly but tasted so fresh. I ordered the green curry with fried tofu and it was YUMMY!!! Really nice people and really good food. Can’t wait to eat my leftovers. Highly recommend!!

I would have to say it’s not easy to find this place for people who’s coming for the first time. Because it’s inside an ally with no signs at the entrance.But the food is worth it.I ordered the special Khao Soi Thai Curry with rice noodle and chicken.Very delicious.The service is professional and nice.Recommended:)Do bring your vaccination card! They make sure to check every time. Also, you need to wear a mask when not eating.

Finding Northern Thai dishes outside of Thailand is tricky. While khao soi can be found, it usually isnt very good.I am so happy that we found this place. Its an hour from our house but worth it! I wish there was more Northern food here but until then, Im glad to have this place to share with friends!Of course rice to go with leftovers! Excellent rice.

Absolutely delicious and authentic Thai food. The portion sizes are MASSIVE so make sure you are ordering to share. They had no problem with making me a small batch of Prik Nam Pla upon request for free as well. We arrived at 9 (they close at 9:30), our host told us not to worry and that we should not rush; I was incredibly surprised by the hospitality. They went above and beyond. Overall it was a really great experience, we will definitely be back.We ordered 1x fried chicken, 1x chicken khao soi, and 1x vege pineapple fried rice. Im serious about the portion sizes. The chicken was crispy, garlicy, umami flavoured heaven served with a side of Thai sweet chili sauce; 4 large thighs and a large leg. The Khao Soi was savoury and rich, Im very happy to have finally found a curry + coconut based soup that isnt sour. the pineapple fried rice was packed full of veg, perfectly cooked and loaded with flavor, Uncle Roger would be happy lol.

I have my favorite Thai restaurant in San Diego, Ca. I give that restaurant a 10! However, after tasting Khao Soi Thai, I have changed my mind. Khao Soi Thai Is 20/10!! Amazing great food!The fried chicken is the best I have ever had!

I saw this place featured on the Try Guys and had to go try it myself! The ambience is warm and casual with lots of cute lights, and the staff is very nice. The food is served fresh and piping hot with generous portions. I tried the ground pork with green beans and basil and it was sweet, spicy, and salty without being too oily or over seasoned. It felt home-cooked and like something you would enjoy while dining at a friend’s house. I left with plenty of leftovers and a smile.The restaurant is tucked off on a side street and not visible from Ventura, and there’s plenty of parking nearby. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, and most entrees are about $15.

Im pretty bummed! It was my first time ordering from this restaurant. I had a friend over who I hadnt seen in a while. We ordered wonton soup, crab fried rice, and glass noodles with beef. A piece of chicken in my soup had a strange grey spot that looked off, her crab fried rice smelled pungent, we had to throw it away, and my glass noodles didnt have beef. I also ordered medium spice with the glass noodles and they had zero spice. I wish I had something nice to say. Maybe it was just an off night for the restaurant. :(

The food here is so flavorful! I came here for the first time yesterday with my sister and we both LOVED the Khao Soi dish. The crunchy noodles were so delicious with this because they soak up all of the delicious curry the longer it soaks! Such a flavorful dish, the Thai tea was yummy too. I love that it’s tucked away from the rest of Ventura Blvd., and the patio was so peaceful. The staff was friendly and attentive, even when they got busy near the end. they were working hard to get to everyone in a timely fashion. We will definitely be coming back. 10/10!

I’ve eaten a lot of Thai in my day and I’m happy to report that this is up there with the best of the best. I took my sister here based on the review and outdoor dining area photos. I was pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming/attentive staff and a very clean restaurant. More importantly, however, I found some of the best Thai food I’ve ever eaten. We ordered the mango fish, the noodle soup special, and the glass noodle dish. The sole was fresh and the mango dressing with citrus, cashews, and red onion created an exquisitely unique bite. Pro tip, if you order the fish and the special soup, the soup broth is also an amazing sauce for the fish. The noodle soup had so much flavor and we ordered it with soft tofu so it would soak up the broth. Fantastic. The glass noodles were also some of the best I’ve ever had. So much flavor and perfectly cooked. Everything was spectacular. I brought my sister who is one of the pickiest eaters ever. She also gave it a 5 star rating. Finally, the staff was great. They were so kind and attentive. They really cared and made sure they kept you safe/clean. Please support this business!

Ordered glass noodle salad through Uber eats looked very tasty as I was eating it I found a long piece of hair I spent $50.00 and change on food I could not eat along with the wings and khao soi not happy will not order again. Uber eats didnt offer a refund or anything this is just bad service from the restaurant and Uber eats.

Spicy and authentic Thai food!A few years ago I visited Thailand and I knew as soon as I saw my plate arrived that I was in for an adventure.The textured outer rim felt like riding a tuk tuk down a busy market during Bangkok rush hour....The brown design reminded me of visiting elephants of the jungle and covering them with mud....And the black interior reminded me of my own interior when I lost my passport in Chaing Mai and all hope seemed lost when the final words from the American Embassy were ...good luck.This plate is as authentic Thai as you can get (and I should know as Im still stuck in the country never to return home again)

Khao Soi Thai is a restaurant that is hard to see on the strip of Ventura Blvd, since its tucked away in an outdoor shopping center. But dont miss it. Its a hidden gem. I say this because their food is really as delicious and as authentic as it gets, like something out of the Sherman Way Thai restaurants and Thai town in Hollywood. I think Ive been here at least 5 times already, and I was always satisfied each time. What do I most recommend? Definitely, their Khao Soi noodles, which is a delicious coconut curry soup with noodles and chicken. Very good. I also loved their shrimp cake balls, their fried chicken, their pad kee mao, the crab fried rice, the pad gra pow over rice, the papaya salad. Theres just too much to name. And you cannot miss out on the mango sticky rice dessert, when it is available in season. Its really one of the best Ive had in a Thai restaurant or as street food.So if youre in Studio City and looking for a great Thai restaurant, come to this place. I can safely say its one of the best restaurants in Studio City, and the ambience is pretty cool here. Nice outdoor and indoor seating, and very reasonably priced. Great food, great service. We had lunch here, sat outside and the waiter made some recommendations. We ordered the namesake curry, the crab rice dish, and a spicy vegetable dish. The food showed up quickly and everything was on point. I felt the prices were very reasonable for what you got. A great experience all around.

Delicious! I had the Tom Yum Noodle soup and asked for it spicy. The hostess warned me that it would be VERY hot, which was thoughtful, but I was ready and thats what I wanted. I think it was still adjusted for a non-Thai palate, and could have been a little hotter, but it made my nose run and gave me that good endorphin rush that really spicy food should give. It tasted fresh and was loaded with flavor. Would definitely return for lunch.

Excellent Thai food! I was accompanied by former Thai restaurant owners who were quite impressed with the food and the very friendly owner. Were always prefer to frequent small business spaces and especially when we were able to spend time with the owner! The food is authentic and the Khao SOI with seafood was especially good. BE AWARE. I had the worst food poisoning of my life at this place. I had pat Thai with chicken. I ended up in urgent care because of the severity an hour later we left the restaurant . Also at the restaurant apparently they were short staff and there was only one girl taking orders, she was overwhelmed rude and gave constant attitude. It was our first and last time at this place.

Tom yum soup w/ seafood, very tasty with right level of sourness, my wifes fav; Khao Soi noodle soup has pretty unique and strong flavor, I like it very much. I live a 30 min drive away and by some decent Thai places, but this place is worth the extra drive! It is the best tasting Thai food Ive had in LA, which is saying a lot. I can tell they use higher-quality ingredients because I feel good after eating here. Their Khao Soi noodle curry and Tom Yum soup are incredible! I actually get sad when I am full and know its time that I should stop eating it. I try to comfort myself that I can have leftovers, but it is still sad to have to stop having that wonderful perfect flavor.

We got 2 dishes, the spicy basil pork with rice and the fish with mango sauce. Both dishes we great. We got the spicy basil pork with medium spice and it was the perfect amount of spice for us although I can see that for some it may still be too spicy. The star of the dinner was the fish with mango sauce. The fish is thin, fresh and breaded perfectly. It gave a satisfying crunch even with the delicious mango sauce. They are also kid friendly. The staff was super friendly and checked up on us the right amount.

Really enjoyed my meal here. I had the yellow curry, and the wing appetizer was delicious. The wings were crunchy and flavorful, and easily the best thai iced tea Ive ever had. Additionally, there was a nice outdoor patio enclosed with planters that made it a pleasantly surprising place to dine.

The food here USED to be fantastic, but since Arie sold it the new owners have brought it down to the level of ordinary. I used to think this was the most authentic Thai restaurant in the area, not anymore. My wife ordered Penang curry with crispy pork, the pork was 90% fat, when I called to complain the owner said the pork we use is pork belly?! I’ve cooked pork belly and that’s not it. What a shame. We’ll be talking our business back to The Rustic Spoon.

I had the Panang Curry a few weeks ago loved it and came back for more, but when it came out it looked watery and it had the flavor of sour from Tom Kah. When I told the 3 staff members who came up to offer an opinion they all told me I was wrong. One of the servers offered to thicken it up which would have done nothing to remove the sour flavor that was probably added by accident. Needless to say, I’m sure I can find another Thai restaurant in Studio City that will be more consistent and customer service oriented.

I came for the Khao Soi (can choose your protein and spice level) but I stayed for the crab fried rice, pad see ew, and spicy basil!The Khao Soi is incredibly flavorful and the flavor is thick (its a curry)but the soup is light and doesnt leave me feeling overly stuffed. The noodles are thick and LONG (I keep forgetting to ask for a knife - probably a faux paux) to cut the noodles... necessary when sharing the dish, which I highly recommend.Crab Fried rice was delicious and the spicy basil (with pork) had me spooning in more before I even finished my first bite. I cant explain the flavors other than a must-try-for-yourself.They have indoor as well as a cute outdoor, patio seating area- if the weather permits (ha- its LA, aka always prime weather) and theres open seats I highly suggest sitting outside.Its prime location on Ventura Blvd. but hidden in the shopping center where Peets coffee/Chin Chins is. Dont let the hidden gem aspect deter you, theres underground parking at the end of the alley.I havent tried anything here I didnt like and Im determined to try the whole menu over time.Along with serving delicious, authentic Thai cuisine,Eric the owner, is the absolute best.
