Good food but slightly high price!
Went here last night for a girls night and had a great time! We ordered salmon and tuna sashimi, which were nice big portions, and also two rolls, the rainbow and Kibo. I always enjoy a rainbow roll where ever I go for sushi as it gives variety and I also make an effort to try to the house speciality roll. Both were amazing and super fresh. Would definitely recommend to check out this cute spot in Danville!
First time here. The Sushi is very good. Very friendly staff who really want you to enjoy your food. The presentation is really great. I checked in on Yelp and got free Goyoza which was tasty! I also used my Passport discount card and got 20% off. What a great first visit. Ill be back with friends!
I ordered a rainbow roll and it was terrible. I asked for real crab because I’m gluten free. They told me it would be $3 extra, that was reasonable, but the crab was the worse crab I have ever eaten. It was dry and brittle, tasted like it had been freezer burned, and had no flavor. The other fish was not much better. I do not see how others gave it high ratings unless they are personal friends or being paid to write their reviews. I’ll drive to Dublin’s Amakara’s and wait the usual 45 minutes before spending another cent at Kibo. We will not be eating at this place again and we love sushi.
Sushi was wonderful. Nice thats its run by a Japanese family. Note you can always tell by the amount of neon. A Japanese owner does not allow a profusion of neon to dominate the decor. The decor is classy, thoughtfully chosen, and minimalist. The food is equally well done in terms of presentation, flavor and texture. I was shocked it wasnt more busy. Particularly because the prices were certainly reasonable. Definitely getting put on high rotation in our household.
Terrible service and mediocre sushi. I feel deceived by the high ratings. The sushi is overpriced and contains mostly rice. We got the butterfly roll ($17! And mostly mayo), spider roll, and shrimp tempura roll. All were relatively small, so we didn’t feel full even with all that rice.We also got a “special” bluefin tuna which was advertised as $10 but appeared as $11 on the bill. It did not taste fresh. I wouldn’t have complained about the incorrect pricing (which they weren’t apologetic about), if I wasn’t so annoyed by the terrible service. Our food took an extremely long time to arrive, which I could understand if the server was attentive. However, he straight up ignored us most of the time. I ended up having to stand up to get the check paid, after failing to wave them down several times. Seriously an awful experience.
Came here for Fathers Day and didnt have any regrets! Staff was so friendly. They were very polite to my family and I, I immediately felt welcomed. I like how the menu is a bit shorter than other sushi places, you dont have to worry about taking forever to flip through the pages. And the food was delicious! The chicken katsu, especially, was super crispy. De-lish. Will come here again!
Id visited Kibo several times over the 12 months period. I am happy that they have never disappointed me with the service or food. Their sushi and rolls are delicious and their specials are quite good.I really appreciate that over the time Kibo continues to evolve as one of the best sushi choices in Tri Valley area.
Sushi is great quality and very tasteful! Prices are a little high which is why it didnt get 5 stars. They also got rid of the Asian salad dressing which I really liked.
Love this place! Been eating sushi made by Brandon (head chef and owner) for several years now. He’s awesome and the fish is always high quality. By far my favorite sushi restaurant in the East Bay! Highly recommend.
Best sushi in town. The fish is fresh, the food is well prepared and generous. I like their Chirashi sushi the best. A great sampling of various fish and beautifully presented. At first Ii ordered this dish, I thought I was not going to be full, but actually, it was a lot to eat.Their dinner plates are also very tasty and again, generious. My favorite is the chicken katsu. Husband loves their udon and tempura selection.The staff is warm and friendly and take out is always ready.
Great sushi nice atmosphere very friendly staff. Price is a bit more but you get what you pay for. This place infinitely better than those chain restraunts. Enjoyed saki miso, rolls, and a dinner bento, all good experiences.
While the food was good they were 30 min late with our order and forgot part of the order via door dash. I actually tried to call them but they would not answer the phone. Also the door dasher said they refused to talk to him. So good food but poor experience with service via take out.
Had a great time at Kibo once again.This is the place to go with my daughter every Sunday evening for nice sushi and sashimi dinner. Owner and employees are always welcoming us and very commodating place. Highly recommend Kibo to Danville residents.
Really fresh sashimi and great friendly service. Im so glad that Danville now has a great sushi spot.We had the Hamachi carpaccio with jalapeno on a sea salt block that was amazing. The Hartz roll and Kibo roll were also really good.We also had an assortment of nigiri and I always judge a place on their uni and amaebi and both were delicious and fresh!Love this place and will certainly be back.
Kibo is our family’s go to sushi restaurant. Fabulous sushi with fantastic roll selections. Also, other Japanese dishes are favorites of ours. Wonderful service and we feel so welcomed. We highly recommend this great place.

Sashimi is fresh but they didn’t use sushi rice for the chirashi, which is surprise. Next time will try their sushi.

Omakase isnt on the menu, but the chef can make it happen if you give him the right budget.

2023-06-24 20:50:46Was looking for a lunch spot on a Saturday and stumbled across Kibo Sushi. We had a very positive experience. Food was very fresh, prepared well and tasted great. The portion sizes were also bigger than we anticipated. I definitely will go back.

2019-08-05 06:44:52SOLID sushi spot in downtown Danville. The fam has gotten plenty of take-outs from this sushi spot in the past, but this was my first time dining in. There was one chef and one waitress, but it never got crowded enough to feel like we weren’t being tended to.Favorite choice of the day was their “I don’t know*” roll. Basically, you list out any dietary or preference restrictions, and the chef will make you something! It was awesome. Will definitely return again. 5 stars!

We had the hamachi nigiri and spicy tuna, hoka salmon, and “Danville” rolls, all of which were excellent and very fresh. The salmon teriyaki, shrimp lollipop appetizer, and Korean pancake dessert were also delicious. Looking forward to coming back to this local, family owned sushi spot!

But this place? Kibo? Next level. Absolutely next level. Dont doubt me, dont ask for sources (trust me bro), this is the top of the line. Great sushi. Great service. Great environment. Go here. Go.

We had miso soup and gyozas to start, a few different rolls and then a chefs inspiration roll...named forsomething they make on the fly right there. It was delicious, and is my picture for the night! Everything was fresh, looked-smelled-tasted great!

2022-06-14 05:36:26We really enjoyed the sushi here. The rolls were delicious, but they were small-sized for the price (compared to other restaurants). We ended up ordering extra rolls because we werent quite full yet. We ended up liking everything that we ordered though.The service was good and the restaurant is kid-friendly. They also have a big tv so you can watch sports if thats what youre into. I give this restaurant a thumbs up 👍
