The food was delicious. The fried calamari was a bit cold but crispy and tasted surprisingly good. The service was excellent. The servers made us feel super welcoming. We will certainly be back in the future.

Of one of the original dim sum spots of Westminster/OC, it continues to stay strong in serving their customers. The dim sum is good, but their main menu has great dishes. The soft shell crab dish, and their house fried noodles are delicious. There is one particular waiter that my party liked, who was very friendly, speaks multiple languages and was very attentive to our needs. Will definitely come again when I want a convenient place for dimsum.

We came in at 9:30 am. Felt like they gave us food from the day before. The shrimp dumplings was chewy, the sticky rice tasted very fishy, the tato ball ssmelled like they went bad. We returned it. Unbelievable.

Its really disappointing to have to review a poor dim sum restaurant especially since theres so much potential, but as reviews go, I think its better to leave an honest review so that others understand what theyre getting, in the hopes that the restaurant will take it upon themselves to do better than this. I came this morning with my wife, and were both huge foodies and have had dim sum all over the world including Hong Kong, Toronto, Vancover, San Francisco, Chicago, and of course our home town of New York City. Weve eaten at some amazing places, and some not-so-great. There are certain dishes that are dim sum staples like the crystal shrimp (ha gao) or siu mai, and personal favorites like king custard buns, or even chicken feet. Dim Sum restaurants have to know this: these staples must be done right--no excuses. Well, Kim Su had some very very mediocre ha gao, siu mai that tasted like there was SPAM in it, and custard buns that tasted like they were in the freezer for too long before they steamed it in a gym shower. It was really shameful to serve that to patrons while calling yourself a dim sum restuarant. Im actually mad that they serve that stuff, and maybe the dim sum around the area is pure trash, but they shouldnt go down to the level of their competitors and instead strive for some semblance of excellence. 3-stars all around and thats only because I am being nice here. The tea... I almost forgot to mention the tea. No one even asked what kind of tea we wanted. We were just served some jasmine. Thats just... frustrating.

Now I have been back to California.The foods is still good and remains the same taste OMG.I would recommend that you try their dimsum is phenomenal also dinner too. I recently ate Seafood Cove 2, the other dim sum restaurant thats down the street, and I believe that Kim Su is slightly better. The service is friendlier and more attentive because they dont want to just shove you in and out. The price I paid was less than Seafood Cove 2 even though it felt like I bought more food. Quality of food was very similar in both restaurants but Kim Su even has a slight edge in that because the food tasted slightly fresher. Overall, Kim Su is the best dim sum you can get around this area.

Ive been coming here for birthdays and other celebrations for over 15 years. I dont know when it happened exactly, but the food has not been the same lately. Of course, the lobster is still good, but it just wasnt as good as before. Plus, so many of their other dishes that I usually order have tasted so different from what I remembered. e.g, I loved the Kung Pao Chicken and French Style Beef, but in my last two visits, those have tasted unbelievably bland. On top of that, the portions are smaller than before all while charging more for them!I recently took my friends here for a celebration, and the food was so disappointing that I felt shame and embarrassment for taking them here.I used to give this place 5 stars, and I used to tell everyone about this place! Now giving it even 2 stars feels a bit too generous. Im not gonna come back either.

We got to the restaurant less than an hour before closing. The waitstaff was friendly. Service was excellent. We ordered the lobster, beef with Chinese vegetables, and the fish ca kho to. They were 😋! Their che was 👌 as well. We will definitely come back.

This is exactly what you want in a dim sum spot.... Traditional cart ladies witb all the tradition dim sum. Rarely a wait and the prices are great. Service is better than expected for a Chinese restaurant, but there will be a bit of a language barrier so be patient. Workers are very friendly and the food is great. Its my go to and hopefully stays the same and not get too busy after this plug, but I want the family and business to do well so please give them a try!

All dishes are delightful. We are the guests of a rather large group [12.21.22] at lunch time. I had some issues with the table servers and table guests’ etiquettes: (i) why did the table servers bring out the containers right in the middle of eating? It was too early at the time! And (ii) that caused some guests at the table tempted to take off the food of the dishes at our table into their containers for taking home. All of these made it worse experience for me as of some guests at this restaurant. Please stop bring out the containers EARLY during eating + enjoyment! Why are YOU in a hurry?!

I guess if you want fresh dim sum its best to go during the weekends when the kitchen staff has to work and actually make something decent to eat. Do not go during the week!! If you do, be prepared to eat cold dim sum that has been sitting out for god knows how long. You really have to push for them to actually give you some hot food so not sure if that makes any sense for a paying customer.

What a great find! We didnt know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. We came during dim sum, close to the end, and were quickly sat and provided dishes. We had brought our kids and the servers were very kindly towards them. Overall service was very polite and efficient, and the restaurant was very clean. And of course the food was delicious! Best sticky rice Ive ever had, and my kids went nuts on the bao, hargao, and ha cheung. It was very special and we will definitely be coming back.

Horrible service, Food was flavorless, they only had 1 cart for dim sum for the whole restaurant and they had hardly to no food left in it when it got to your table. It was the normal lunch rush amd they were not prepared at all. Not sure if it was before lack of workers if that was the case they should ha e just close and gave their workers and extra day off. 40 mins wait for a spoon and 20 minutes just to wit on line to paid for this horrible food. Never coming back.

Awful dim sum. All the food were cold. We were happy the food came right away when we sat down. The servers came with a cart of dim sum and we chose what we want to eat. Once the food were on the table, we ate and none of the food was even warm. Cold, chewy and not to standard. We could have food poisoning with the food turned cold in room temperature.

I decided to check out this restaurant with a friend. We dont understand why the positive reviews. Their Shumai and Ha Gao both have a very stale taste its really hard to describe. The best dim sum in the county! And probably the best lobster restaurant in the county, too. Other places come and go, but Kim Su has maintained the highest standards for great-tasting dim sum for over 20 years. But if more people knew about the lobster, there would be a line around the block. The great taste and value cant be overstated. Try it, and youll forget all about Slapfish or Hook & Anchor.

The food was wonderful! I ordered the tofu where it was crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside and thats my favorite food out of all. I also had dim sum which was also really good and well-seasoned. This place also has really good pho ap chao so I really recommend to eat that for lunch or dinner if youre craving it.

If youre looking for a good place for Dim Sum, this is one of the best places I have found so far in Orange County. The staff can be extremely rude to rude especially if theres a language barrier. They can at times be dismissive but the price and food make up for it. If you plan to visit, plan to wait as this restaurant is busy and parking is horrible. Hope you enjoy!

They didnt bring the drinks out until the first dish came out, and they forgot the beer and coke.Our waiter is bad too. I cant give a proper here because I only go in the morning for their dim sum service. The food is delicious for a reasonable price, but you dont get great service. You would have to wave a plane to land in order to get some attention from any worker. Theres usually a wait time during the weekend mornings that can last 5 to 20 minutes depending on your party size.

Have been going here for their dim sum for three years now. Their pork shu mai (fried or regular) is possibly the best Ive had in the Santa Ana area. Next best would be their shrimp Bun Coon. Popular place for dim sum for brunch and live seafood (house lobster is great) dinner. It has most of the popular Chinese/Vietnamese dishes and everything I have tried is fair to good. One of the dim sum they brought out was moldy and when I brought it to the ladys attention she gave me an excuse and said its not mold. Im not a professional chef but I sure as heck know what mold look like. How about instead of giving me an excuse, why dont you just apologize for your terrible food. With the tragic closure of Furiwa, a successor was needed. The staples in Little Saigon are not my cup of tea. I refuse to wait hours to be crammed and rush while dining. With that said, Kim Su was part of the replacement tour. I see familiar faces from the old guard. The service is fair, typical high pressure sales, tight seating. The food is on the salty side. But fried taro and xa long bao were impressive.

Warning: my taste in chinese food is primarily for the greasy, fried mess of general gaus chicken I used to get back in Boston! So if thats the type of thing youre looking for, this place is pretty close to the good ol Boston chinese food.

Get the lobster with house special sauce and you will be in lobster heaven. Ive eaten the lobsters at Tan Cang Newport Seafood and several other places but this place is the best in my opinion.
