Servers were helpful and attentive. Asked for dishes to have lower sodium, but they were still on the saltier side. Ill come back to try the noodle dishes or get some deli meats someday. Got some roast pork at the deli and it was good, not too lean nor fatty.

Fast service. Food exactly how I remembered it growing up. The green beans was crispy and flavorful. The hot sour seafood soup was warm and sour. Crispy chow neon with char siu pork was perfect. We were so impressed even being really full we ordered a roasted duck to go because, why not?If you are looking for authentic amazing Chinese food look no further this place has it all. I would recommend this place to any of my friends looking for delicious Chinese food that’s been around for as long as I’ve lived here.

This place is so lowkey but do not pass this restaurant up! Super affordable and huge portions of food. The flavors are SPOT ON! If youre looking for authentic flavor made fresh and fast then this is where you want to be!We got the fried flounder, chashu, tongue and combo noodle soup. Piping hot and they will give you more soup if you ask for it. The fried flounder is so fresh and crispy. Very easy to eat around the bones. My fave was their chashu pork. It was sweet and a bit fatty but the flavor was so good with white rice.Pickled veggies paired well with the meats and cut the fats. You will probably bring food home because the portions are honestly big like no kidding.I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Artesia area :)

My family has been coming here for 30 years. Our favorite dishes are the bbq pork wonton egg noodle soup, the roast duck over rice, and the Chinese broccoli. I haven’t seen mention of the pickled vegetables and chili oil in other reviews, but they’re the things I always start craving first, when it’s been a while since I visited. And of course, hot tea in a tall cup. Always look forward to my next meal here.

~The best noodle house in that area & at a great price. They serve all kind of Asian style noodles & fried rices. They also sale cooked chicken, duck & crispy pork to take home.~My favorite dish - fried pork chop w/ big yellow noodle DRY(so the pork stays crispy). It taste so yummy w/ a touch of black vinegar.

Ive been coming to this restaurant since I was a child. Kimtar was one of my Grandmothers favorite restaurants.The bbq pork alone is worth the trip. Throw in some duck and its an amazing meal. And dont get me started on their orange chicken! Gosh, its wonderful.When Im craving good meat, Kimtar is my go to place!

I just had Mother’s Day in this restaurant. The foods were good but when I received the bill for 5 orders (5 people). The bill says pre-tip on the total amount charged and the bottom also says +tip and then total amount. First time I’ve seen this kind of receipt, so I gave them another tip $10 cash. Then, I realized the tip was included after I drove home. I feel so bad about it, I paid them more they deserved. They cheated me also maybe other customers............

Absolutely love their food. Been coming here with the family for over 27 years. They have watched the children, and grandchildren grow up.. Recommend the beef chow fun, and Mongolian beef.

Like many others, I have been a loyal Kim Tar fan since the 1980s. To this day, the BBQ Pork Egg Noodle soup is still my favorite soup bar none. Whenever I am near there, I always pick up two orders to go. The house special chow mein is also a favorite as is the roast duck. There used to be at least a couple of other Kim Tars (LA, Rowland Heights) which were also good (but interestingly enough, a little different tasting) and there is still one apparently in the City of Industry on Valley (but have never been to that one).

I always enjoyed their house special chow fun with gravy. It used to be $5.50 like 7 years back, now its almost $12 with less also =*( The soy sauce chicken and bbq pork is great! Service is friendly.

Typical Chinese restaurant. Servers are pretty nice but the overall service felt kind of slow. The food is okay but I have definitely had better. Its just an opinion but they could go a little lighter on the oil used in their cooking.

Portion and flavor good but what really bothers me is how they serve the hot food in plastic bowls and tea in plastic cups. Use common sense please owner. Overtime it will slowly leach into the food. Owner please change to porcelain and will come back.

I’ve been eating Kim Tar since I was a kid, my mom found this place when she came to America because she missed the taste of Home. It’s authentic and good, not fancy and trying to be something it’s not. For some it can be a little bit of a culture shock, like the ducks in the window, but the food is great so what more could you ask for.

Be careful customers !!! I bought roasted duck To Go at Kimtar. The taste is OK, but at home when eating I recognized drumsticks were taken away only a little meat left, breast meat is very limited. I meant on purpose they take your food away, but you have to pay full price. They cheated I am not buying here anymore. Either Sam Woo restaurant or 99 Ranch supermarket is honest.

Oh, and enjoying the flat noodles in my house combination chow fun plate, too! ;PKim Tar has been open for business in Artesia since we all crawled out of the primordial ooze w/ our leg-like appendages, searching this new novelty known as dry land. The restaurant specializes in BBQ pork & Peking duck, which is always a win/win, in my book. Authenticity is seeing roast duck hanging in the window, w/ warming trays of various offal like chicken feet, pigs ears, intestines and other yummy sights greeting you as you walk in. Besides the aforementioned delights, Kim Tar also has the standard Chinese foods on their menu.On this occasion, I opted for the house combination chow fun to go. Chow fun is the flat noodles seen commonly in pad thai. I enjoy eating these as they are more hearty, in my humble opinion. The combination consisted of chicken, beef, pork, squid & shrimp. Man, did I love this! Wasnt too salty at all, being pleasantly complemented w/ carrots, gailan and other ingredients. Big portions, as well, at the cutrate price of $7+, which I dropped down to $6.06 w/ my 20% off coupon. Score! :)Not exactly a hole in the wall, its also not a big place. There is a sufficient amount of seating available, but I havent been here during peak hours when the rush has arrived. Dont expect spotlessness & a club atmosphere. Kim Tar is an old maid who, on the surface, doesnt look very sexy, but she will do more than give you a rock hard boner w/ her cooking. She will make culinary love to you all night, w/ you not being able to feel your legs in the morning.
