Kim Tar Seafood Restaurant in Monterey Park

11:22 am Sun 22 Oct. $14 seafood chow fun with gravy, great portion & tasting. $22 for the shrimps. Been coming here for over 2 decades, nice to see it remodeled (gentrifying neon signage :) but prices still fantastic.

Place is smells, food comes in a small portion and doesn’t taste good, service is lousy. Will never come back

The service was very poor 👎 Especially one of the older waiters. We have been here four times and unfortunately he served us twice. One of the times my husband asked him about L1 Hot and Sour Fish Soup (Thai/Vietnamese) What is the difference between Thai taste and Vietnamese taste? He said impatiently What do you want, be careful with your order without answering our questions. My husband has a good temper and doesnt care about his attitude.The fourth time we went, unfortunately, he served us again. Our ordering speed was not slow, and he was very impatient within these two minutes. When it was time to check out, I waved to him and said, Please pay, but he didnt respond at all, as if he didnt hear me. Five seconds later, he walked towards us, and I asked him, Please pay, but he still didnt make a response, I said it again and he was very impatient, I know, I know, let me see if there is anything that needs to be packed. Then he took our rice bowl away without asking. Later, my childs grandmother was about to feed the child another bite of rice, then she realized that there was no more rice. Whenever I talked to him, or asked questions. He yelled at us for no reason, which made me feel really angry. My husband told me that he may be in depression. Em, I don’t think this is a reason that he should be rude. Ps. I saw he was rude to others too. I think I will never be back to this restaurant again!

On the run today so I got its Togo.Loved their breakfast special! Reasonable price. I always get this combo with their hot French coffee. If you don’t like your coffee too sweet, ask for less condense milk. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

BEWARE!!!! $280 for four people and this place steals people’s food!! We ordered a decent size lobsters and it came out with a bunch of pieces missing. A huge give away was when it was missing claws and body. FOOD AND MONEY STEALERS!! RIP OFF!!! POOR SERVICE WITH ATTITUDE!! WAS A MISTAKE GOING TO THIS PLACE!! NEVER AGAIN!!

My stir-fried rice noodle with beef was done in less than 10 minutes while I was waiting outside after order was placed.The taste? Pretty good, I would not complain but would suggest to use a tad more of bean sprouts and a bit more beef at price charged.Overall, a good lunch to satisfy my stomach.Outdoor sitting is available, nowadays a norm for this type of business.

We come here alot. My mom usually gets the seafood noodles and I get the shrimp tum yum noodles. The portions are HUGE! Price is good. Service?? Well, the older gentlemen, service is not there. Always have to wave him down, never smiles. The ladies that work mornings there are usually more attentive and nicer.Usually their food is consistent, but there were a couple times where the noodles were either wayyyy to over cooked, or it has been sitting there for too long that the noodles taste like mush. But when you do tell them, sometimes they are not very friendly about complaints.

Kimtar far exceeded my expectations of being quality, delicious food with great service! Our server was attentive, friendly and professional and the food was so flavorful and fresh! I especially liked the chow mein and the kung pao chicken! I drove 40 minutes because a friend told me about this restaurant and let me tell you it was well worth it! I will definitely be returning and telling all my friends and family. Thank you Kimtar for a memorable evening!
