We had a great time celebrating 🍾 hubbys birthday! Nice staff, great food, priced perfectly. The chef was hilarious. They even let me bring in our own cake and joined in singing Happy Birthday 🎂 🥳

Came in 830 at night Sat not too busy. They gave me and my daughter our own table. Tool our order and Chef promptly came out and began cooking. Andres was amazing! He was so talented, funny and professional. What an unexpected treat. We will be back

We were looking for a kid friendly place because our daughter is 3.5 yrs old. Also had our mother in law here from Korea. This place was perfect for keeping the attention of everyone from 3 to 60+. Everyone ate a ton and had lots of leftovers. Good portions and tasty/tender. A little salty for me, but that is expected at restaurants and I tend to eat more blandly so enjoyed one day of more flavor. Will go again.

We had a wonderful teppanyaki dining experience with our 3 kids (all under 12)!The kids were able to order off the kids teppanyaki menu, while my husband and I ordered off the adult menu. Kids loved all their food!!It’s a must to add the fried rice - the garlic butter is so delicious!Just know it takes about an hour from ordering when the teppanyaki show begins before you can actually eat. The menu is huge, sushi, Japanese entrees and full drinks menu.For a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) total cost of the meal plus 20% gratuity = $242 (includes drinks for all).

The experience was okay. We had to wait almost an hour pass a reservation on Mothers Day which was kind of strange for the fact that it was not busy. I definitely understand the need to sit a full table for the, but I felt like we should have been due to our reservation. I serve it was wonderful she did the best she could with the circumstances presented to her but it took forever for the chef to come out and start cooking. We need told him my boyfriend has a shellfish allergy and he started cooking his chicken at same spot as my shrimp. He was friendly enough to fix the problem, but my boyfriend was kind of concerned about his food. The food was good I definitely think its a knockoff of Benihanas but with the same price but not same quality. Its a brand new place so is very nice inside I definitely feel like maybe Ill come back and try the restaurant experience and check out how their Sushi was. But overall it was okay couldnt get more than that.

My first time visiting and found Kimono Japanese Restaurant. Beautiful entry-very large, clean fish tank.I ordered the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. I also had chicken fried rice and a dragon roll. The food was delicious! I also had one of their signature cocktails strawberry sake tini. Was perfectly made...i had to order another.I received excellent service. I felt very welcomed and very well taken care of...I will definately return when I am in the area and invite friends..

The first thing I recall was, why was it so empty for lunch on a Thursday and it took 30 minutes to get a lunch boat and one roll where only one man was seated before us? If they were packed, then it could be more understandably, but still not acceptable. They had one person cooking, but the wait left a very bad taste in my mouth, as did the roll and sashimi. The sushi boat was a good value, nice visual appeal, but the sashimi wasnt anything to rave about at all. Id remove it. The toro roll was OK, nothing great to get excited out. The sauce on it needed more punch in the flavor and the lemon on top didnt seem to go well. Head to Meiko down the street if you want something better consistently.

Our favorite Hibachi style restaurant in the Bay Area, pristine cleanliness. Food quality is top shelf, so prices are not bargain basement. That said, service is consistently great - they earn five stars.

I brought my son here for his 30th birthday and we had a great time. Our waitress Moon was so sweet and attentive. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and we were happy. Our Chef was so fun to watch not to mention the food was delicious. All and all a wonder evening. Well definitely be back.

Ordered a 6 course meal and a beer. The beer I ordered has minimum bubble and made me wonder if the bubble machine is working or not. The meal is decent but the only call out is that you need to pay +7.5 if you want to up grade jasmine steam rice to chicken fried rice. The waiter made it sound like it’s a free swap so would’ve appreciate a heads up. The meal is okay.

Horrible experience. Went there on a Sunday not many people. There were 5 of us. We decided on the hibachi. Got seated wanted their 6 course meal. Wanted to sub steamed rice for fried rice. Was told we had to order side dishes at 8 dollars each and we would get both rices. No subs at all. Waiter was rude manager was ruder. At 65 plus 8 dollars a person you would think it would be a no Brainer to sub steam rice for fried rice. Never ever going back there again. We left without eating

Not too busy went in for Friday lunch late. Food is good along with the show. Lunch prices are more reasonable for this kind of Japanese style of cooking I would come back. I know my mother and father enjoyed it restaurant has spacious seating.

The food, the service, and the overall experience at Kimono is one of a kind. We went here to celebrate my Moms birthday and Im so glad that we did. Not only were all of the staff incredibly nice and attentive, the food was truly amazing. The steak is probably the best steak Ive ever had, with a chef that entertains as well as he cooks. In a time that most restaurants are still reemerging from this past year as we begin to open things back up, I commend the staff for creating such an awesome atmosphere. If you want a good time with exceptional food I wholly recommend you try Kimono.

First teppanyaki experience and it was worth it. Friendly staff. Great tasting food especially the benecia roll and crunchy salmon roll. The server also gave us free ice cream for our anniversary :) Definitely coming again

We went here for my nieces birthday and it was such a blast! We did the tepanyaki with 4 kids and it was one of easiest dinners out! No complaints! Everyone had fun and ate all their food! We paid more the fried rice bc its so good and worth it. Im not kidding. Usually places that have a theme or show, the food is subpar. Not this place. The cooking and little show they do while cooking was great and the food was really good! We kept commenting wow this is really good lol. We will go back! Its expensive but for a celebration its worth it and you wont be disappointed!

My fiancé and I have eaten at most of the major Japanese steakhouses in the bay area and this has become one of our favorites. The food and sushi is great. Try the Shrimp Arsenal and Benicia rolls.The restaurant itself is nice and is never fully busy like some of the other major locations (which is actually surprising).The only reason that I did not give this place a 5 star, is because I feel as though their portions for the grill table are slightly smaller compared to other places while the price is similar to these other locations.Aside from that, the place is great!

There was a bit of delay, it was our 1st time going tho so it wasnt impressive. Then the fact that dinner was underwhelming. For the price of hibachi I just expected more... flavor, at the least.

The food was alright, but I was not impressed with the overall experience. They charged ~$5 for the rice from the grill. I have never been to hibachi where they charge for the rice off the grill separately from the dinner. Given so many other great places to eat in this area, I will not be returning here.

Very tasty food. All clean and neat. The staff is friendly and will do everything to make your evening special. I strongly recommend to try their tepanyaki. Its a bit pricey but totally worth every cent you pay.Update: 17/01/2020Apparently as popular the place becomes as worse the service becomes. We asked for tepan table for our family dinner and were offered a seat with bunch of other people. Really? We are paying $150+ to share table with others? And thats considering that they had other free tepan tables. Food was also bad and not tasty at all. Shrimps were too dry prpbably because the chef was busy cooking on tepan table.Never coming back again.Good job spoiling really nice place.

I had eaten at the Benicia branch before and enjoyed it.Grand opening was great, food is top notch and service is great. Enjoyed the whole dining experience, entertainment & great food. I will be sure to recommend to my friends and I will be sure to come back soon!

This great gem is hiding a bit at the edge of Pleasanton, but is well worth a visit. Service is fantastic, and the food is quite good. Theres a good variety of sushi and grilled options for regular table service, if youre not in the market for the Teppanyaki experience.

I will NEVER go to Hana Japan, or Benihana again!!Kimono was absolutely fantastic. The food was excellent & well executed thanks to our wonderful chef, Chuy. I got the duo & my steak was very tender while full of flavor. Our chef was very polite & interactive giving us a good show.The hibachi area was well spread out so every table had some sense of privacy. Unlike other hibachi restaurants where the tables are very close & it feels like youre sitting on top of each other.
