Basically, there are two restaurants in one. Great fresh tasting sushi and burgers. This visit was sit down sushi. Says they open at 11am, but that is for burgers. Table servers and sushi bar dont start till 11:30.I had the crunch eel blue crab roll. Tasty, but a lot of things are going on in that roll. Tried the Korean spicy pork bowl. Awesome flavor, and it is spicy, nice. Also comes with four pieces of cut roll sushi for a buck. Choice of California roll or spicy tuna. We started out with truffle parmesan fries for an appetizer since sushi was made to order. Pretty good.The next visit will be burgers. Probably try the Kings special cheese burger with pastrami. Took me a while to check it out. Have heard many times that it was good. Its definitely worth a visit.

Ummmmmm!! So when my friend suggested we go to a place that serves burgers AND sushi I was like okay LA is really weird because how CAN that be good? Turns out its absolutely bomb!!!We had a fantastic low brow + high brow meal. I got omakase and a hot dog and both items were fresh and perfectly prepared and delicious. Def dont sleep on this place. Its a weird concept but it works.

HORRIBLE! My 1st time. I came in and asked the customers there, how was the food? They gave good compliments, so I ordered the breakfast burrito with all bacon because I saw them making one. I got home and took a bite...MOSTLY POTATOES! Small bits of bacon, and the eggs are scorched! $9.00 for this, just pissed me off! The other burritos I saw them make had large STRIPS of bacon! Why did mine have BITS that literally add up to about 1 slice of bacon!

The sushi was very good but surprisingly expensive. When the menu states an item three ways like the albacore salmon or other fish they mean three pieces of nigiri. A bit expensive at $16.50 I tried a bit of the burger items and they were good also.

Really great place that is actually much more spacious than it looks when driving by.Really well laid out interior with plenty of outdoor seating and bar seating as well.Decided to try the two things they have right in the name, a burger and some sushi.The burger was really well cooked and all the toppings were fresh and well balanced. Fries were really quite good, if you are looking for a place to grab just fries, these are good enough for just that!Sushi was really yummy and their rice is really well cooked with just enough stickiness and give.Will definitely come back and try out more of the nigiri and the bowls which looked quite appetizing. Overall a really nice place to grab a quick bite or for a casual dinner.Staff was incredibly friendly and they have Orion!Price is pretty standard for LA sushi prices but definitely worth it for the quality and service.Update 11/30/22I have now become a regular here and would say that if you are looking for food in the Northridge area you cannot go wrong by choosing Kings. I have been making my way through the menu and have not found a single thing that I have not absolutely enjoyed. You can tell that they really care about the food they make and their customers. If you are on the fence take the leap because this place is worth it!

Great tasting burger! 7oz patty on thin brioche buns, lettuce, tomato, onions and 1000 island 👍🏼. Fries were thin with nice crunch. Cost $15. Parking lot in back took about 15 min to get food.Update: Came back again to try the “Kings Special Burger”. Which is a Pastrami Cheeseburger. Thought the burger would be huge and stuffed with pastrami. Instead it was just the right amount and pastrami added some subtle saltiness and crunch. Liked it better than the bacon cheeseburger. Cost about $14.

I come here every time we visit LA the food is great but the cleanliness and the bathroom woooof as soon as you get seated you you lost your appetite because of the smell coming from the bathroom smells like you enter the nursing home smells pee! My friends have been telling me about this place for awhile now. So we decided to try it yesterday. I wasnt expecting much but I was pleased with the food that I tried from here. We ordered the Kings Roll, Blue Crab Roll topped with Salmon and Tuna, Lemon Roll, Vegetable Tempura, Seaweed Salad & Parmesan Truffle Fries. The place decent and food tastes delicious. Next time I would like to try their burgers. They have a lot of selections to choose from...burgers, sandwiches, breakfast items, sushi, rolls, poke and bowls they have it.

Burgers taste great, and sushi is good. They have a wide range of options that are unique and the quality of fish is high. There are options for everyone in your party to find something they are sure to enjoy. Only issue is that the wait staff is not that good. Couldnt get my water refilled the whole meal, eventually had to go fill myself. They kept messing up my burger, ordered it with no cheese and after 3 tries they finally managed to read the ticket. It seems they hire mostly college students which is fine, but they need to train the staff properly.

My friends and I stopped by Kings Burger today and we had a great experience. It looks like the upgraded the inside because the booths are gone and they also have outside seating now. The last time I got food from here during the covid lockdown, I didnt have a good experience since they forgot something on my food. But now it looks like they changed a lot. The service was great and the food was amazing. I got the Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Bowl and it was just like I remembered it. They werent busy when I got there but within 30 minutes, they started to get pack. They dont check covid vaccination status here anymore but wearing mask is highly encouraged.

I do not recommend. We got the crunch teriyaki chicken bowl and the kings burger. For the burger, everything was good other than the fact the patty tasted like it was from a freezer. Fries were mediocre at best, bland and we had to add a lot of seasoning. The spicy tuna roll we got along with the bowl was good. The teriyaki chicken bowl was extremely bland. The chicken itself had absolutely no flavor or seasoning. The only taste I got from it was teriyaki. If you add pineapple it is literally just pineapple rings from a can at the grocery store. Nothing special about this place unfortunately

Let me tell you about their sushi. Its probably the BEST in the valley! We used to have to go to O2 in Simi Valley to get awesome sushi, but this place is THE BOMB! Their kanpachi is absolutely off the hook; the 3-way sushi is the best. Everything we had was amazing and we couldnt believe we could get such delicious sushi so close by!! Definitely making this our go to sushi spot from now on!

Came here due to worth it and the word holds true. I got the kings burger and and some sashimi. The burger was just the right balance of taste and the sushi is extremely fresh. It seems like a weird combo but somehow it works. The service is also awesome. If you live around the area or just in town, definately a place to visit.

I absolutely love this place. Everytime im here I order sushi and a side of fries. Since im not here often, I ordered a Jr Cheeseburger too. I have tried the Albacore Lovers roll - crab+spicy tuna, cucumber, crunchy onion, ponzu, creamy sesame, spicy oil. DELICIOUS! Thought this was some novelty place since it had both sushi, Asian bowls and burgers but I have to say the burger was solid. I got the Hawaiian and added avocado to go along with the pineapple slice and teriyaki sauce. It was super delicious along with some fries and an orange soda. Really brought me back to my younger years when I didnt worry about my diabetes or cholesterol but it was worth it.

Overall a great meal . . . with an interesting combination of choices. The food is well-prepared. As a restaurant, they are really good for a good fast meal at a reasonable price.Im only giving it a four-star because calling in an order for pickup has left a lot to be desired. Ill just say they have more confidence in their food than I do. $12 for a chicken bowl. $5 for some fries. I cannot imagine a day when that is a fair price. They get away with it cause CSUN kids will pay it. But understand you leave yourself no room for growth. I mean Im saying Ill just go to Buffalo fat burger/In & out or the habit in that case and for the same price or less. Ill eat good, the food will be fresh and worth the price. Look, youre not coming here for the atmosphere or service. The service is fine, but nothing over the top. The sushi is incredible. This isnt some decent mall sushi, this is legit, high end cuisine. The food is great, I, mean you can get suspicious and a burger. The suspicious was great we got a salmón with creamy avocado along with a California roll, bomb. My wife also order some Chilli cheese fries and a spicy chicken sandwich that was not on the menu and she loved it. I had to go with a pastrami burger and it did not disappoint. A friend was telling me about a restaurant that sold sushi and burgers at the same time. At first, I was puzzled, then realized that I could feed my French fry loving children, whilst eating something that I’d find more palatable. Admittedly, I didn’t expect much, given my experience with combination restaurants (looking at you, Green Burrito/ Carl’s Junior) but man, was I surprised. Not only were the kid’s dishes delicious, my sushi was amazing. The fish was high quality and fresh. I don’t add soy sauce or wasabi, so often times sushi restaurants without the same mind to quality can be underwhelming… not King’s Burger. I found myself craving their delicious fish days later. Even as I write this, I’m getting a hankering for some sashimi. Thank you guys for a wonderful dinner that the whole family enjoyed.

Ive been here 3x. Twice for take out and once for done in. Each time the wait has improved, but there really isnt enough space to wait safely apart from others unless you give your number and wait in your car. Best things on the menu are the poke bowls. Burgers are okay, admittedly I had mine to go. Sushi is tasty but wasnt been rolled well when we dined in so it fell apart. Staff is great, I told them about a food allergy and they accommodated my needs very well. I will keep trying Kings out and try the different things on the menu. Im not ready to give up!

Food was brought out quickly, but we never got refills on our waters even when we noticed waiters come by and look at our table, they never asked if we were good or needed anything. We were going to order more food but due to the lack of service, we just decided to pay and leave. They have a strange policy of not listing themselves on doordash but they still use doordash drivers to deliver the food.I called and asked about one of my orders that was going to be an hour late. The first time I called they told me i cant cancel the order and i have to go through ChowNow. ChowNow says i have to call the restaurant again and i get a different reason for not being able to cancel the order. Eventually i just give up and accept that Im going to eat my food an hour late.I honestly think they dont accept orders from doordash so they dont have to show their occasionally long delivery times and lose orders.

Usually places with eclectic mixes of cuisine have issues doing everything right. However, King’s Burgers and Got Sushi performs exceptionally well at both! Highly recommend coming here if you have people in your party who love sushi, and others who love burgers and sandwiches but not sushi. I recommend the Philly cheesesteak and the truffle Parmesan fries if you want a change of pace from the burgers.

I havent been to King Burger for a few years. Im glad I went back. I like the remodel they did on the inside. Its cleaner and more up to date.The menu has rxpanded to include sushi and they have counter seating as an option now.The burgers are still excelent. This was my favorite hamburger joint during the late 90s when I used to go to CSUN. Looks like different ownership and the burgers dont taste the same. I am very disappointed with the owner not making his burgers as they used to be old fashioned charbroiled burgers with that home made fresh smell. Used to love King’s Burger and the food. Came here tonight to eat with family after not coming in a few years and what can I say we were given horrible service and sadly just a horrible experience. From the moment we walked in I don’t know why exactly but we were treated with immediate disrespect. We were not rude at all and actually very kind considering the way we were treated.When taking our order the waitress Elizabeth seemed annoyed and then started walking away before taking the last person’s order. She apologized and then wrote the third order down. Somehow about 15 mins later when majority of our order came the last meal didn’t. Finally a nice waitress came to ask if we were waiting on anything. Somehow the last order still did not get added to our ticket. It just seemed a bit too coincidental and like it was done intentionally. They said they would make it right away which then took another 15 mins.Aside from this we thought one of the burgers was missing avocado and when we brought it to their attention, the cook Victor came out to the table and said he put it in there and he then proceeded to pull the burger bun back to show us (even though we had already checked that it was in there in front of him after he said it was and we told him sorry). I understand he may have cooked the food and touched it while preparing it. However at the point that it is on someone’s plate in front of them I would never want someone to touch my food like that and I felt so horrible that they were treating us this type of way. He did not have to touch the food at that point and could have kindly said something instead. Everything considered we did not complain to them since we were already treated badly, and their half-hearted apologies were not cutting it. There was no point and they clearly knew we were upset.I would never treat my customers the way they treated us, especially without any valid reason. It was so uncomfortable by the time everyone got their food that no one could really enjoy the food anymore. Plus the prices have gotten more expensive and portion sizes considerably smaller, and some of the food is not as good as it used to be, sadly.

First time here, got a burger and had to try the sushi. Got the Tuna 3 ways which I felt was pricey at 13 for 3 pieces... then I ate it. The quality of the sushi is amazing and balanced so well between the Tuna and accoutrement on it. Burger is solid for the price but a tad under salted. Well worth the wait and price imo.

Sushi and Burgers?” The friend I brought here recently loved the sushi so much he said he’ll come visit me more, now that he knows about this. (Uh, thanks?)Some of the things I like to have people try if they are sushi people are the truffle tempura eel sushi and the escolar sushi. The escolar is inexpensive and I love the creamy rich taste of it, and its hard to find sushi places that have it at all (usually it’s Korean sushi places that will serve it, as its not a traditional Japanese sushi — which btw, neither is salmon, for those who might turn your nose up at the ideas of having a non-traditional sushi).If you like the higher end sushi, try their premium sushi dinner for $40. It’ll give you a nice variety of great fish. If you want something to fill you up more, try their combinations. I like the miso black cod, but I think the portions on that are too small.To sit down, you need to be ordering sushi, but you can also order burgers and such with your sushi. So its great for going out with a group where you have one or two people who do not like sushi. The spicy chicken sandwich is not on the menu, but that’s popular (you can see a pic of it) in my pics. And my friends have wanted to go back for the King Burger (pastrami AND beef patty), the fish sandwich (of course that would be good) and the philly cheese steak sandwich (ask for it with mushrooms and ranch dressing…a short order cook had me do that, and its amazing. The key is to put the ranch in the sandwich. It mingles with the melted cheese and adds such creaminess….mmmmmm). Also, I’’m a stickler for reliable consistency, and when I have ordered burgers I have had some come out fantastic and others come out so dry I couldn’t even eat it. Only once or twice in the 3 years of coming here have I had the sushi not be as good — but that was for their toro, and I just rarely order that any more from here. The King burger is one of the best burgers I have had and I have been to Pie and Burger, and Burgers never say die which awesome burgers. This burger is just a work of art. Witnessed a train wreck of a customer interaction between the cashier and another customer while I was waiting. Was so appalled that there was absolutely zero effort by staff to rectify the situation that I ended up cancelling my order and leaving. Years ago, this used to be a great, friendly place to grab an unpretentious California style burger — now they are peddling faux fancy brioche buns with a matching snooty, terrible attitude. I frequent kings and with this said id like to suggest for visitors to avoid the burgers and get the sushi, first, the burgers are typical and not all that great tasting, second, if you get burgers and decide to dine in, expect to feel very out of a place while everyone dines on sushi and youre elbows deep in fries and a burger, this is a somewhat biased place, youll be seated for sushi but you have to get your own food from the front of the register, a very off combination with a very off dining set up.

I was just misgendered and when trying to address this the supervisorshe was laughing at me and then called me sir herself for a second time.... Very busy place, I have been here many times and the food is always good. The have burgers, sandwiches and sushi. Yes, sushi. This is the first time I have had a problem. My hubby and I ordered, waited at least 20( maybe 30 minutes) and then had to leave so I went up front and told them what was happening. They were apologetic and had my order ready in a to go package within 3 min. Things happen when you are packed, so I guess my recommendation would be to go during the week only.

Walking in, we only wanted to order take out sushi. The cooks were making burgers and told us to go to the left for sushi. When we moved to the left the sign said sushi bar closed from 2:30-5:30, but you can sit and dine. We were forced to sit and dine messing up our schedule. To top it off, head banging music was playing loudly. I like all musics, but i see dining at restaurants as an opportunity to calm down and hold meaningful conversations. I dont know whats more surprising, the fact that a place that sells both sushi and burgers is great, or the fact it took me years to write this review. Kings Burger is easily the Valleys biggest culinary oddity. Not only do they have a full sushi bar in-house with a burger shack, but they perform both tasks well. I myself usually opt for the Hawaiian bowl, which is a great item to go. However, what will always keep me coming back is the parmesan truffle fries. No one believes me when I take them here that they are going to have great food and amazing sushi, but I think that has to do with the decor. I dont think most of the interior has changed since it was a Carls Jr. back in the 80s with the same tables and swing out chairs. The main change is the sushi bar built into the counter. That;s right, you can get very good fast food along with some of the best and freshest sushi in the Valley, if not LA. Service is always great, but sometime slow. They are very polite and always smiling. This place holds very true, that you cannot judge a book by its cover, but I highly recommend you give it a try. I have yet to eat anything here that I did not enjoy.

Okay so we went here Friday night and it was busy so we sat at the bar area. When you walk in here you are little thrown off since it is a sushi restaurant & burger joint. There was several new employees so you could tell that the more expierenced staff was overwhelmed. Regardless my only concerns was the Sushi and it was great. Weve been here a lot. Order from the burger counter. Their burgers, sandwiches, and Hawaiian style rice bowls are the best things there and most or all of it isnt on the sit down menu. The sushi side is your typical LA strip mall sushi: above average and more expensive than it seems. If you order sandwiches or bowls you have to order at the counter and they will bring your order to you. If you want sushi you can sit down and a server will take your order. Everyone was really friendly and the order took a little long but I wasnt sure why all dine in orders couldnt be taken by the servers in the dining room and all to-go orders handled by the counter in front. I guess this is what works for them but it seems you are shortchanging the servers of a bigger tip. Nonetheless a great experience and will return very soon!

Food is tasty and fresh. No customer service whatsoever. Had reservations and was asked to wait for a seat. After waiting for 20 min, another party showed up and started yelling at the employees. They brought out a new table and chairs and seat them down right away. I walked in to ask for a manager and after being told they don’t have one I left.

Holy cow. Some friends told us about this spot and we had to try it. The sashimi was incredible. Its a strange feeling to be having salmon belly and cold sake while the table next to us was eating burgers and soft drinks. :) I cant wait to go back. There are so many things on the menu I want to try.

A go to place for all those foreign to the valley. We always bring new friends to the region here. Honestly, I dont know what the allure is, maybe its just the tradition, and a lot of friends do the same.The menu is practically unchanged for years which is always a plus. Try the sushi if you dont mind a bit of a higher price point for the convenience of diff menu selections. Tip, I always feel the small fries and large fries are practically the same, so stick with the small fries. Their zucchini fries are awesome, and their ranch is very unique to them. Might be that red seasoning on each of the tables.

This place is seriously amazing.1 They serve all types of foods so if you have picky friends that only like one type of food you can be safe right about here. 2 their sushi although a little bit on the pricy side goes hand in hand with their quality. Very fresh and very tasty. At first this place was ok in terms of atmosphere but since theyve renovated, its become a great place to go get some food and have a great time with friends and family.

The sushi is amazing. The curb appeal, entrance, and cheap soda shop dining ambience will throw you off. Honestly, I wondered if I had the right address. Take the chance. I bring business guests here for dinner. On my last visit one of my business associates said, Now I have a good reason to look for excuses to fly down from San Francisco on a day trip. Order anything with truffle oil, and the lemon roll will make your taste buds dance the boogie.

I love the food at this restaurant, it is one of my favorite restaurants and I have been trying to support it during the pandemia but tonight I ordered when the usual manager was out and I regreted the rude “manager” who picked up the phone, they would not bring my food out even though they offer curbside pick up, he claimed he did not know which car was mine, he would not read my car’s information in my comments box, i told him which car and he claimed he could not hear me, by the time i got my food it was cold. He said he did not care if I cancelled my order but I didn’t. However, it’s the last time I support this restaurant. I will never come back.

The wait for the food was way too long. 20/25 minutes to wait for the food is way too long. Not this time, but before I was getting lunch to eat before going to work. I was still waiting at 30 minutes! It was getting close to when I had to leave for work, and it takes 30 minutes + another 20 mins to find parking at work. I needed time to eat! So I just left without my food and got something at a fast food place. I worked at Magic Mountain at the time!!!

We always come here for the sushi bar that shares the space with Kings Burger. The service is often lacking due to the sushi bar being understaffed, but the tremendous quality of the sushi definitely makes up for the extra wait time.
