The I did your sister (up front) i ordered because of the name. The 911 was Less spicy than I expected but quite nice nonetheless!

I walked in with my laptop bag and asked if there were outlets in the store so I could eat while I work. The woman at the front looked around nervously and scoffed and said “no,” and walked off, without greeting me or asking if I wanted a place to sit. Have you ever seen an unfortunate scene with an obviously-homeless person walking into a eatery and the shopkeeper nervously says “oh we don’t have this we don’t have that we don’t have outlets we don’t have anything” to make the person leave? It was exactly like that. Quite frankly homeless or not nobody should be treated like that, but I know I’m a clean honest person, I’m certainly not a second class citizen, and so I didn’t understand what was so perturbing about wanting to have sushi and do my remote work at a local place outside of the house. Oh right, I am Black. Perhaps that messes with the aesthetic of the place, so important that it is just off the highway in the valley but apparently I was tainting it with the heinous crime of asking about if they had outlets.I was deeply humiliated and enraged by this behavior. Of course, if I was to yell or become irate that would be all the evidence in the world to be used against me. I don’t care how good the food is, this treatment is disgusting. In particular, that woman was very hostile from the word “go” for no good reason and establishments that discriminate like that deserve no business whatsoever.

I love this place they have such a great variety of sushi and sashimi. The dishes always taste great and of course I wash it down with some delicious hot sake. They also have a great selection of beers.

I went on a Sunday at noon so it was pretty slow. We got two specialty rolls, a hand roll and some sashimi. The fish tasted excellent and all the rolls were delicious. We will definitely be back.

We finally found a OUR spot for sushi! We stumbled upon this little gem just doing a random search for local sushi restaurants and we could not be more happy that we chose this place. Excellent food, fair prices, friendly service and a nice atmosphere will be bringing us back to Kinza quite often. As others have said, try the 50/50 roll! At first bite my wife and I fell in love! You can also order half rolls which made trying a bunch of different things possible and is a feature I think more sushi restaurants should offer. We did not try one thing we didnt like and were already planning the items we would try the next time we come for a visit. This place deserves to stick around so give it a try and tell your friends... you wont be disappointed!!!

Had a variety of sushi dishes, all fresh and delicious. I would have given them 5 stars but for the fact that they allow pets inside the restaurant. I realize this has become somewhat of an L.A. tradition but it is not ok for me and the health dept would not be too happy either. It has the same effect as finding a hair in my rice.

Nice place, decor is nice, bench seating is comfortable. Service was quick, food came out quick. Large menu with lots of options, rolls around $12 each, sashimi ~$13/14. Everything tasted great and the fish was very fresh! 12oz beers are $4 (22oz, $7) which is a great price for a sushi place. Sashimi was surprisingly excellent, and the rolls were well crafted and delicious. The place has 2 TVs, a smaller one at the bar and a larger one in the right side of the restaurant. None of the left side which is nice because if you dont want a TV flashing at you while you have a nice dinner you can sit on the right side so there is no TV in your vision. Server was nice and friendly, atmosphere A+ aside from the currently pop music they play (its literally the radio) but some people dig that so Im not gonna hold it against them. Even we apart from the music, great place for takeout.

Seriously bad. They serve a “blue crab hand roll” with crab out of a can, and we didn’t enjoy anything. It’s been a while since I’ve had sushi this bad in Los Angeles.

This is my favorite spot in Sherman Oaks! Quality and Value, exactly what you want with sushi. I have yet to have something I didnt like and the staff are wonderful. I recommned trying everything including the non-sushi items because their menu is great! Hand rolls are legit here!

Absolutely excellent sushi. Great portion sizes. Reasonably priced. Definitely my go to sushi place.
