I can only speak for the sushi, and it was just OK. Nothing to write home about. I feel it catered more to an American palette, so those who seek a traditional or authentic sushi restaurant may not be satisfied. There was a confusing mishmash of Asian decor ranging anywhere from Chinese lion dogs to Naruto. Service was great, no complaints.

New cook maybe ?Today’s food was bland and sauces had lemon flavor. Main dish was teriyaki salmon didn’t find any teriyaki sauce. Was drenched in lemon juice. Garlic edamame had no flavor at all. Ordered at 6:18pm was told it would be ready by 7pm received my food at 7:20pm.

The staff was friendly and courteous. It was a wonderful experience to see the food cooked in front of us. The chef cracked jokes while he cooked making it fun for the entire family. Finally, the food was delicious!! I’m glad we were able to eat here.

It was nice to find a similar restaurant like Benihana in Santa Clarita. The place looked great and we had a little wait to get seated for a party of four. However we were seated first but served last as in the other party we shared a table with were served drinks first and when it came to food I personally was seated throughout the cooking watching the other party be served multiple meals. From shrimps to scallops, to fish, and their ame the beef chops, vegetables...Until the very end of dinner when I got to be served the spaghetti and chicken right before the chef left the table. It was more like safe the best for the last but thats not what it was. The food was under cooked and plain. My kid whom I had hoped to eat some spaghetti with was already asking if we could go home cause probably he felt left out too. I personally saw this as absolute servers bias. Where certain category of people are well catered for simply because the server knows there will be better tips from the kind of food ordered. This seemed like that kind of place. Correct me if I am wrong. Even an ex server didnt hesitate to fill me in more about these kind of treatments.

Ive been going to Kishos for 18 years. I was on a first name basis with Chef Ishy many years ago. But within the past 2 years Ive noticed a steep decline in the service and food here.Just finished a meal and there were 8 things wrong with our partys orders. Requests not fulfilled/ not entered in the system. Some items were sent back twice and then cancelled after repeat failures.Our server had zero personal skills, seemed like she had no interest in being there nor helping customers, and lied about messing up some of our orders.All I have to ask is, where did your pride go at Kishos? Today was an embarrassment for the place I used to enjoy treating my friends to the most.

Wow! Those gigantic balls of fried ice cream are bomb! Its tempura ice cream on the menu. I chose green- tea- flavored ice cream, fried in this yummy tempura mix. The tempura coating came out crunchy and flaky. I dont know about you, but it was flavorful and the mix of different textures was a good experience. Each ball of fried ice cream is bigger than my fist, served two of us. One order may serve 4 unless you scream for ice cream.

This restaurant has the best authentic Japanese cuisine I have ever eaten. The servers Are extremely attentive, Professional and understanding of any special requests Or substitutions.I cannot recall ever being to a restaurant in the Santa Clarita Valley. Yet alone, anywhere in Southern California That has as wonderful, wonderful management as this location does.All of the chefs at this location go above and beyond to provide absolutely wonderful cuisine, in a comany special requests, or Cater to the individuals, dietary needs/requirements.Some may say, this authentic Japanese cuisine restaurant is the most pricey In the Santa Clarita Valley, and to an extent I can agree, ( Beig as I am not wealthy by any stretch)… However, if you have ever worked in a restaurant personally and understand completely How a restaurant should operate like a well Oiled machine, With employees displaying the utmost professionalism. I must say, very strongly The extra $15 to $25 spent per person & Having appreciation for Restaurant staff That actually put their heart and soul into all they do.I would say, The money was very well spent.

Kisho remains a consistent experience and we love coming back here to bring together family and friends. My goto is filet and scallops with friend rice and extra vegetables. The showmanship and volcano never cease to impress the kids and myself included.

The thing i didnt enjoy was how long we had to wait for a table. It was a Friday night and we had 15 people in our party but when we were waiting they told us 1 hour and we got there at 6:30pm and we got seated at 8:15pm and they were closing at 9pm. When we finally got seated we were so all so hungry that we ate the appetizers and almost all the food because the kitchen was closing and we just wanted to go home because we waited so long to be seated.

NEVER add shrimp onto a meal, just because. Shellfish allergies are extremely common! If somebody orders a steak meal, they clearly didnt ask for shrimp, therefore its not wanted. And it doesnt say online that your meals come with shrimp. There was no spoon for the soup, and the container of white sauce had exploded all over the inside of my bag. The people up front didnt say anything about the meals coming with shrimp. You have wasted my money and my time. After having the worst day at magic mountain, I have to leave my hotel AGAIN, and try to find halfway decent food. You have put the final nail in the coffin for this horrible day and vacation. Thanks so much for ensuring I never return to this state for a vacation, ever again. And thanks for risking my health. How many others have you conveniently forgotten to disclose that your meals come with shrimp? How many others?

This place has the rudest hostesses first off! Secondly ALWAYS open your take out meals bc guarantee it’s wrong!!! I have given this place so many chances and my orders are always wrong. I spoke to management and they gave the worst customer service and even tried to say that I was making up my complaint. Never had a restaurant say I was wrong! The best advice to this place is live by the customers always right modo because you have lost a great customer. If I could rate zero I would have.

We have been here about five times in the last two months. We do like it. Food is good. The service is hit and miss. We had both good and bad experiences with waiting a long time to order more sushi or get refills. We will continue to dine here but will probably asked to be moved if sat a a certain servers section.

I visited Kisho before and was a very good place for sushi. Last night I was not impressed. We asked for four sushi rolls (spicy girl, rainbow roll, American slam and fish wrap salmon) and quality, taste ( no umami flavors) and presentation was mediocre . The service was similar like a fast food restaurant. We went for the previous sushi experience (before pandemia) and left with the feeling that was not up to other sushi restaurants quality in SCV. We will not return.

Honestly had not had a bad time here up until recent. We made a reservation for 9, so basically an entire table, and right before we were going in my best friends baby started screaming, so we told the rest of the party to go in and I was going to try and help get the baby settled. We asked for them to hold our seats for 10 minutes. They refused, filled our seats, so my friend and I couldnt be there for her sons birthday celebration. I understand you have a wait list, but if you prefer next time that I bring a screaming baby into your restaurant Ill be more then happy to do that. So disappointed in the service we received we will not be going back.

My best friend invited me to come here to eat on Saturday October 22nd. I had a sushi combo plate that came with sushi, miso soup and rice. It was very delicious. The food was very delicious. I ordered the seafood combo with scallops and calamari for lunch. My kids enjoyed the kid California bento box. My husband got the filet mignon with shrimp combo and he said he wishes he wouldve gotten more. Our cook was super friendly and very patient with our kids. He made lots of funny jokes and showed us many cool cooking tricks. Our server was also very friendly and very fast with our drinks. I definitely enjoyed myself coming here today and we will come back often.

Great food, great service. I had the caterpillar roll, rolls and some chicken. All were really good. Place is dark and cozy. They have those tables that have a grill so you can watch the chef have fun with fire while he cooks your meal. We sat in the sushi section, though. I will definitely go back! Unique dining experience, similar to Benihana, but they also sell sushi which was OK. The specialty here are the grilled items (e.g. chicken + NY steak, seafood, yaki noodles). The cooking show was entertaining and executed very well. The chicken + NY steak dish was generous, 2-3 medium sized chicken breasts + about 12oz NY steak + grilled veggies (onion, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms) + mushroom soup + shrimp appetizer + steamed or fried rice (prepared in front of you). Very tasty, would eat this dish again. Service was excellent and attentive.1 star down for the cleanliness, restaurant needs to be refurbished a bit, grease outside the grilling platform and the chefs standing area was a mess (looked dirty + the electrical boxes and panels were splattered in grease). Also, the chairs were very uncomfortable after sitting for more than 1 hr, not enough padding and too narrow. Still, would recommend for the experience and grilled items taste. Sushi, not so much.NOTE: Reservations are accepted, but oddly they only accept them the day before from 11:30am. Also, if you sit in the grill area, at least half of your partys order must be grill items (vs. the majority of your partys order coming the sushi bar or appetizers from the kitchen). Lastly, if you have a birthday or special event, for $6 they can come out and do some singing and drum beating, cool add-on.

Lengthy read. Food is pretty good. Problem is service. I order take out Probably 2 to 3 times a month. At least 2 times they manage to mess up the order. Its just steak & shrimp with white rice. Either wrong rice or the best when you get there 25mins later to get your order. They tell you we lost or forgot to put your order in so now you have to wait another 25 mins! Ill take my business elsewhere I recommend you do to.

I went to this place with my family and it was amazing. The food at the tepon table is really good, you have a ton of options on what you can get. My favorite so far is their steak, I got scallops and New York steak. Usually steak at most restaurants isn’t very good in my opinion, but this was amazing. It melts in your mouth, it’s so tender that I think you can even compare it to wagyu. The scallops were pretty good as well, good quality and taste. I also got some sushi, the fish were really good quality and the sushi rolls that I got were amazing. I recommend the Pinocchio roll, that was definitely my favorite one. You also aren’t waiting for your food much. It takes a little bit to get your main meal but the meals come with soup and salad, which you get before you get your main meal. The only downside about this place is it can be quite pricey, but it isn’t that much more expensive than other tepon places. The staff is also very active, often checking in to see if you need a refill for your drinks, if there’s any issues, or if your enjoying the food. Overall a very good place with the only downside being the cost.

Food is great but they don’t give the appropriate amount of sauce for the Halloween rolls. Ordered 2 rolls and only got one of each sauce.. which is the same amount as getting just 1 roll. Why be stingy with the sauce? That’s the whole point of the Halloween roll! And not the first time either. I recommend checking your order before driving home.

Went yesterday for my fiancée birthday. We had a party of 6 (5 adults and a child) . . . Ill get to the point. . . We all got sick except for the child. The only thing we all ate that was the same was the salad. Weve been here in the past (pre covid) and have never had a problem. We had reservations at 4pm so they were not busy but we received horrible service (not chief Erick who made the food. He was great) We also had to ask them to re clean the table stove. . It was dirty from the previous meal and had overspray. Even after our meal they didnt clean if off very well. . . Also our soup was cold. They did offer to get us a new batch but by the time we were able to flag anyone down it was too late. We called and spoke to a manager about our experience and they did offer to discount our next meal but for the money we initially paid and the experience we received its unlikely well go back.

I like this place very much. I go there often with my Family. Especially I like the way how they congratulate birthday person. They play drums and sing a song. It’s so amazing!!! There was a fire in the area and Magic Mountain was closed.We googled this place and headed there for lunch.The place is very nice and the food was great. The hostess was the sweetest ever. I recently returned to this restaurant, which in its heyday was fantastic. Last time I was here was pre covid and I vowed never to return due to is lack of customer service and Itty bitty pieces of fish. Well...we decided to give it another go.....what a disappointment! The waiter was very nice, but the food was the same. Tasty but minimalistic. In addition, chandeliers over the tables were all off..instead light strings were thrown over....dont know what that was about. Needless to say...I wont ever be returning..Pic attached

Although the food was very good, the service provided was horrendous! It started with a server who had to be tracked down at least 4 times. Then when a sever lost our credit card, the manager was rude, condensending, and laughed in our face. What a way to celebrate with family. This one experience was so disappointing. We should have listened to the poor ratings because they were every bit the truth.

Only reason for going 4 stars is that the prices are about $5-8 more on average per entree than what I would have expected for the atmosphere and service. That being said, they allowed me to split a meal for no additional charge. My family of 5 ate dinner for $100 after tip.

I use to live in SCV, I remember when Kisho 1st opened. It was clean, good service, and good food. We use to go often.We were visiting our kids and went to Kisho.We were stocked to see how filthy it was. They have old furniture and junk out front.When you walk in, they have junk inthe entry way. The place looks like a holders house. So sad

I have been eating and enjoying their onion soup for years, after having been told numerous times and assured it was vegan. This is a great restaurant to go for a special occasion or just for fun. My kids love this place because they give dinner and a show with the Chef cooking right in front of you. The sushi here is delicious. The Teppan is a hit or miss depending on the chef. The last chef we got was Gus and He is not only an excellent chef but also a very nice guy! I wish they would make chicken fried rice as an option, but totally understand that isnt the chefs decision.As for the wait staff staff, theyre okay. They get things to the table rapidly, but ice gotten a side of attitude occasionally . Whatever I just want to eat! As long as the chef is good Im good!

My Grandson suggested this place for his birthday lunch. I expected it to be expensive but was pleasantly surprised. We ate Teppan style and joined a table with another group. I ordered the steak and calimari. The portion size was just right and the preparation was excellent. While it wasnt the lease expensive meal I have ever had, I was very happy with the $18 price. You can also order sushi at the tepan table and it looked delicious.Ever notice, whatever you order, you wish you ordered what the other person has once you see it. Its a wonder I dont weigh 600#.I look forward to returning. You wont be dissapointed.

Went here for my daughters birthday since she wanted hibachi and this was the closest. This place was great all around. Inside temp was a little chilli being from a warmer place but the food and entertainment was great. Filled up before I even got the teriyaki chicken but still had to keep eating it because it tasted so good. They printed the birthday picture quick and all of the service was fantastic. Will definitely go back if ever in the area again.

After verifying 6 times. He then proceeded to take a shot as he crouched down so his manager couldnt see and one of the bus boys using his black patter as a shield. His assistant Mayra had a hard time breaking down the split checks after explaining it and us having to write it down for her. Very unprofessional. very unpleasent. Dont believe me check the camera for first table to your left by the entrance. After complaining the same guy who shielded the alcohol consumption acted as manager to someone in the party who was paying for the meal expressed concerns and yet did nothing for the accommodation for the lousy experience. Its a really fun eventful place. The food is amazing, and its fun to watch your food cooked right in front of you. The only thing I dont like is they never de-vain the shrimp. First time coming to this place. I have to say it was a great experience. I cane here with my family, wife, 9 and 3 year old. We were seated in no time. The server was patient and understanding. They have a great selection of food both hot and cold. Sushi choices were abundant.I ordered the Teriaky Steak and tempura plate with fried rice. My wife ordered the Marilyn Monroll and spicy tuna. The kids have a bento box that included sushi, rice, fries, corn dog bites, and a yogurt. We also ordered endemame and spicy tuna on a rice cracker. The food was delicious and the service was precise. She was on it, but not in an annoying way. Really made sure we were take care of.I enjoyed the experience as did my family. Kishos restuant is really top notch compared to most of the restaurants in the SCV. The food is great, the staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is chill. My only gripe with the place is the serious lack of parking for the restaurant. Also the staff tends to forget some of the order, we ordered a dinner that soppused to come with Soup, however even after reminding the server and another host the soup did not arrive until after the fifth time. Minor issue as they go over the details. I would recommend Kishos and look forward to my next visit.

Im glad Kisho is open and serving take out during this covid season. It felt rewarding to treat ourselves to sushi after so many home cooked meals. I was surprised to find an 8 person line extending into the parking lot when I arrived to pick up my phone order. Fortunately, the weather was comfortable and everyone politely followed social distancing guidance. The wait was only about 12 minutes and the food was satisfying. It cost more than I remember, but I cant blame them for doing what they need to stay open.

This place is bar far subpar. We have had ok experiences here in the past, but today was the last. We were seated in the lounge, in the bar area, but against the far wall. We were surprised when the temperature suddenly went cold as the bus staff were moving chairs and tables out of the room. We tried to be patient, but after ten minutes of feeling like we were outside, I had had enough. I asked for the manager to come, but we were met by an arrogant, tall skinny asian who could care less about how we felt. He said that if we didnt like it then we could move, but the way he said it wasnt apologetic, rather it was expected of us to do it or else. Wouldnt recommend their food or their service. Multiple times we were waiting without drink and food. And if you want to complain about their manager, good luck. According to him, there is no one above him that you can complain to.

Great place to make history! Here for a celebration of life event for Veronica Jefferson. The staff was very professional and respectful. The food was delicious (try the famous fried rice 😋) but the kitchen got backed up. That was ok because the music kept us busy dancing. Ske was a great host and honored his wifes wishes. I hope she looked and was pleased with all the family and friends that came, her gorgeous daughters and their friends having a great time and all that were present taking pictures to be a part of this incredible home going party. For these prices I’d expect everything to be made fresh in the restaurant. The miso soup and gyoza were obviously bought instant or frozen respectively. The plum wine tasted watered down, and had an unpleasant finish. The cucumber salad didn’t seem to have an dressing on it. And the waitress kept forgetting things. We asked about my son’s boba order, and she said they were making it. What arrived at our table was a plastic cup with a hole punched in the sealed top for the straw—it took them a long time to poke that hole. I was also suprised that our gyoza sauce was served in a take-out cup on the plate. The sushi and fresh fish were fine, but not of high quality. That’s probably why most their specialty rolls were made with spicy tuna, or else their wouldn’t have been any flavor. Seemed that you had either a choice of spice tuna or “krab” in their rolls. We really didn’t find many rolls that we were interested in because of these two things being main ingredients. My mom liked her tempura, and my son liked his teriyaki. We won’t be back—there are better places with better atmosphere.
