We have been a total. Customer ever since this place opened. However, we ordered to go this time . The ramen we brought home was cold, straight from the fridge. Also, my meat and vegetable were also cold (the other two was warm). I just colluded not believe my eyes. I am beyond disappointed at this place now. This should never happen.

Had the spicy miso ramen. Great flavor, and just the right amount of spice level. Not too over powering. I ordered the large which was more than plenty. The noodles are different than the traditional ramen noodle, however still very delicious. Cannot forget about the draft Asahi beer. Give them a shot!

This was a cozy, quick, and decently affordable ($20 all-in) meal. I had a regular-sized green chili shio ~ it was a perfectly spicy, flavourful, filling bowl. The chewy noodles and delightfully tender pork belly really stood out. A special shoutout to Roger at this location, who welcomed every guest with a friendly and warm energy and was very attentive to check-in throughout my meal.

I loved kitakata ramen. I visited here with some friends of mine and the service was excellent. The food was phenomenal! I Absolutely Loved the ramen, I got the Chashu ramen with extra egg and it was perfect. My friend got the spicy miso. I highly recommend visiting Kitakata ramen and would love to be back.

The Ramen portion is generous. They also make the best appetizer. I really recommend dishes like Takoyaki and Juicy Fried Chicken.The staff are friendly and welcoming. A decent place to dine but the noodles can be a bit pricey.

Ramen was OK. We tried 2 and both were salty, and one was really salty and has milk in it. The menu didnt say it had milk but since it was so creamy we asked, and they confirmed it contained milk. Not good for those who are lactose intolerant to leave out on the menu ingredient list.The juicy chicken was fantastic so Im giving a 4 instead of a 3.

Came in here for the first of many times!I took my Switch to dish out some TLOZ in preparation of TOTK thinking I would pace myself well I’d trade out something new right off the bat Lisa’s customer service skills were fantastic as she guided me through some recommendations. I ended up opting for a Large Umakara Tan Tan Ramen and as many of the reviewers can attest; the broth here is superb. It really does pair great with the excellent customer service.This; I kid you NOT! Makes for a fantastic atmosphere. Let me just be strait and say, there’s is something “very nice” about agreeing with a perfect stranger sitting next to you on the bar without saying a single word. Every slip of the ramen, and every sip of the broth followed by an satisfying yum! Or ahhh! Says; I’m glad we can agree.In recap? The tittle says it all; we’ll be coming back again, many times more! And thanks again Lisa for the great experience. As someone that prides itself in the CS field, I’m really humble I felt treated.

Amazing food and service in a small place. The juicy fried chicken was actually juicy and flavorful. The side soup was not too salty either. The soup my hubby ordered was a bit salty to his taste but was still delicious. He did not care for the tofu, something it was marinated in did not taste well. Side cabbage was good but the portion was smaller than expected. I like that the staff worked together and helped one another. The place was clean and parking was easy. We will definitely be back.

Very nice! Decently priced, but EXCELLENT quality👌! Stuffed ourselves crazy, because we ordered the Juicy Fried Chicken. Other places will normally call it the Chicken Karaage, but not only have they made this accessible to everyone by translating it, but this is no joke! Seriously the juiciest fried chicken Ive ever had, AND the batter is crisp, with a nice crunch to it. You will not find any other place that matches this one in terms of juiciness.The large ramen is a nice size. However, for the noodle:meat ratio, if you order the large size, order extra meat to balance it out. The quality of the noodles are pretty good --springy. The broth flavor was just right.Food came out quick, and service prompt. Cant complain!

Its very busy but great food. I ordered a Kitakata Ramen regular size, and my daughter had the Umakara Tan Tan Ramen with a side of pan-fried gyoza. We shared our meals. Everything was very good. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Be careful where you park, not the best area.

I’d heard about this place from several friends but didn’t have the chance to try it dining in until now. What makes this ramen shop unique is their noodles. They’re almost like Korean kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) or a longer style spaetzel, somewhat thicker than typical ramen noodles and a little more flour based than egg.We started with the fried chicken appetizer that was delicious. Fresh and hot and very juicy!I had the spicy miso ramen and also tasted the kitakata ramen. I really liked my dish! The pork was tender and the broth and noodles were excellent! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fresh veggies in my bowl.I highly recommend giving it a try! The noodles don’t keep well for leftovers, so eat up!

The ambiance is great and the staff is really friendly. I went with the chashu ramen and chose some chicken and shishito peppers as appetizers. Everything was so fresh and delicious. We went there on a Friday night so there was a bit of a line but not to bad if youre in good company. Definitely plan on coming back here when I hear ramen calling again. Five stars 😁.

First time here and I loved it! Everyone is very nice here. After our waiter took our order and went off my friend realized she should have ordered an egg and I sort of wanted one too. This. Is. My. Favorite. Ramen. Shop. Ever.Ive gone multiple times, driving one and a half to two hours just to go and come back home cause it is just that good.As an appetizer for the table, I typically order the gyoza and takoyaki, and both satisfy. I order the Large Chashu Ramen, which comes with 13 pieces of sliced chashu, bamboo shoots, and green onion. I add an egg for additional cost, but well worth it. The curly noodles have a wonderful chewy texture and are very easy to pick up with your chopsticks. The broth is amazing. Unlike typical tonkatsu broth which is cloudy, their broth is clear and very very flavorful. The word that comes to mind when I think about it is refreshing. The chashu is also amazing and compliments the soup, being tender and having a distinct flavor (due to their secret marinade).It can get busy, but the wait is worth it. They have the text when ready system, so if the wait is 30 minutes to an hour, you can do some shopping at the nearby Target. Also, they will not seat you unless your entire party is there. You can find parking quite easily since it is in a shopping center, just gotta walk a little bit.Overall, Kitakata Ban Nai is the standard with which I use to compare to other ramen shops

Really enjoyed eating here the Tsukemen ramen was good but found the broth a little bland ordered the steam gyozas the came with a green chili sauce and green onion and they were quite delightful with a little kick but not to spicy so ordered more green chili sauce to add to the ramen and this made it awesome, will come back and try other dishes but recommend you give this place a try as for the place it was nice neat and clean and the service went a ove and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my meal with them so give them a try you wont be disappointed.

I love coming here. ive been here many times on seperate occasions and it has always been a good experience. this place has a nice comfy and cozy vibe. i love coming here when its chilly outisde, but i love coming here in general. i usally order from here and get it delivered to my home when i want soup or feel a little under the weather. service is always pretty quick. when i went most recently we had the sweetest waiter. her name was hayley and she was very mindful. we asked for a side of ramen noodles for my baby sister and she offered childrens utensils. she was very interactive as well. 100% recommended coming here.

This is one of my favorite ramen spots (theres like 3 in total) in the LA area. The broth is very light (yet still very flavorful). The noodles are the perfect balance between too soft and too chewy. Dont forget to add the Yuzu Kosho paste and/or the umami paste from the toppings list. They make things even better! Id also recommend their karaage (Japanese friend chicken) which is perfectly seasoned and deep fried. Expect a 20min-an hour wait, bring something so you dont get bored. I wish theyd open up more stores since both stores are so far from me and wed have to make a big deal whenever we go.

Ive never been so embarrassed in my whole life until now. I never had an issue with coming here. But tonight will be the last night I come here because of the employee Lisa. I paid for my food with a card. I never leave a tip on my card. I always leave a tip in cash. Apparently now this restaurant uses a self serve card payment. But if you pay with your card and dont tip they know when you receipt is printed. I went to walk up and get change for a cash tip with Lisa makes a loud comment That table didnt tip. Another employee asked who ((later I found out this was the manager)). Then Lisa pointed at me and my friend. The tables next to us turned and looked at us. I made a comment saying I was gonna leave a tip in cash. I went to go talk to Lisa and asked her why did she embarrass me in front of the whole restaurant because I leave my tips in cash. She denied everything and kept repeating What tables heard me. I want to know what tables.So with Lisa poor behavior I asked for a manager which Lisa referred to me as a Karen. ((Because I have pale skin....jokes on her Im Hispanic))I told the manager what happened. But the manager handled the situation poorly. I told her your employee embarrassed me for yelling out in the middle of the restaurant that I didnt tip on my card. Youre employees should never assume. I also mentioned that you were standing right there next to her when she made the comment. They denied the whole thing and accused me of being rude because I didnt tip. Lisa kept demanding that I tell her what tables. Because she wanted to talk to them.Please dont ever assume you didnt get tipped because someone didnt put it on the card.I dont think I will ever be back now. Ive been coming here for over two years. Im sad to say goodbye to this place.

But a third lesser known style was developed in northern Honshu in the small village of Kitakata which gives it its name. Known for its storehouses full of soy sauce, Kitakata-style ramen uses this as its base, a type of shoyu.°The bowl itself appears simple, a broth full of noodles and topped with chashu and some thinly sliced spring onion, but do not let this fool you. This broth has been extracting pure umami from pork bones for long hours which gives it an almost smoky and toasted taste, full of earth and charcoal.°Ban Nai is the most famous source of this style of ramen, with 62 locations around Japan. This review is only for the customer service. Was told on the phone that they would be able to sit customer outdoors, but got refused by this rude lady when I showed up at the restaurant for dinner. Good place to eat if youre treating yourself. Though the price is a bit too high for me. 17$ gets you a large standard bowl and a coke. Waiters are nice, food is great if youve had a bad day. But if youre going casually, the atmosphere makes it worth going with friends. If youre going alone, i recommend you get a slightly more expensive bowl with toppings to get your moneys worth and have amazing flavor.

Hands down, this is my favorite ramen place in California. And if you like spicy, the green chili shio ramen has first place in my heart and taste buds. It has all the brightness of the green onions and simple shio broth but then surprises you with the heat of the chilis and the fatty goodness of the chashu pork.And dont skip on their house made gyoza. Any way you prefer to have them (boiled or pan fried) is great.Really, you cant miss with anything on their menu. Just be prepared for a wait. They are not a big restaurant and they get pretty busy. Or you can do what I do and order take out. The bags come with instructions on how to beat warm up your ramen for freshest at home experience.

I previously gave Kitakata 4 stars because my past self was young and naive. This is the only ramen place I go to now. No joke. I stopped going to other places or trying new spots because they simply dont compare to this place. I love how it fills me up and at the same time it feels light. It is a little bit more expensive than other places, thats if you want to add things to it but it is worth it. Your belly will be pleased. The fried chicken is good and depending on the day the spicy rice is spicy. The waiters are very nice and although I am an inverted person, I kind of like when they greet me when I come in and say bye when I leave. It makes me feel like if Im home, probably because I go there all of the time. You have to come early if you dont want to wait too long. They open for dinner at 5pm and lunch at 11am. This was my first time to Kitakata Ramen. First I want to start with the positive things about this restaurant, The place is quite spacious and exceptionally clean. They have nice decoration and create a very strong ambience of the Japanese culture. We got there quite early so we were seated within five minutes of writing our names down. The server was very kind and took our orders right away. We order a bowl of Ramen, it was quite delicious and the portion was reasonable for the price that we would charge. The chicken was great, and tasted very crispy and juicy all at the same time. The gyoza was pan seared, so it tasted fresh and not overly oily. I also ordered a small salad, which is a big disappointment because the vegetables were old, wilted, and spoiled looking. I sent it back, and the severs were nice enough to apologize and he took it off the bill. In addition there are no substitution of any part of the ingredients, even if they are the same price. The shishito peppers were the best Ive had in any establishment, and the chashu...much like the noodles, had a good texture to them. The variety is a little low in some respects but they also have Tsukemen and three different ways of cooking gyoza (steam, pan fry or deep fry). With the broth quality of even the spicy miso being light on the stomach and palate (a flaw Ive noted that ramen can be too heavy), I can wholeheartedly reccommend this place. Ive had dozens of Japanese ramen places and could not understand what all the hype was about, but I finally found one that really met the hype I was hearing. The noodles are not straight here, they are very curvy that make it a bit different. I am not a huge fan of egg noodle, but they have a very light amount of it in theirs which I believe is causing it to take that shape. I really enjoyed the soup here. Special kitakata ramen, which is much difference from other ramen shop. The noodle is chewy and the soup is not too heavy. The only bad thing is that you need to wait for 40 - 60 mins at meal hour.

We go here at least once a week. Probably some of the best ramen in Orange County. Sometimes a wait but well worth it. Try the gyoza.
