Nice place But I would not Get the shepherds pie Flavor was ok, but very little vegetables or meat in it. About 90% mashed potatoes on top. Also had the chicken and bacon sandwich that was good. Well go back and try something else its a nice place

First timer here to 428. I’d heard good things about it. The food did not disappoint.I had their special at lunch - Peach burger with bacon, garlic aioli and grilled onions on ciabatta bread. It was rather tasty. The fries are thick cut and cooked well (not soggy inside which can happen with thick cut fries).The atmosphere is fun. I especially thought the doors on the ceiling were fun and creative.Service- here’s what got me. Our server was training, so maybe she’s normally better, but… very inattentive. We waited ages to order, then ages for refills, then ages again for the check. In fact, we had to ask another (very friendly) waitress for our check.Being the first time there, I won’t said overall service is bad, but that experience wasn’t good.Would go back for sure, anticipating better service.

I was in from out of town for an appointment and Googled best lunch in Woodland. Kitchen 428 was the top result, so I took a chance.The building is a Victorian charmer, modernized but keeping its original aesthetic.I was greeted cheerfully and my server, James, was attentive and provided helpful suggestions.I ordered a Cocktail for the Cause which was a delightful concoction called a honey badger. My entrée, the Rainier sandwich, was delectably presented with seasoned steak fries.Dessert was a tough choice between crème brulée and the seasonal peach and berry cobbler. I ultimately chose the cobbler and was not disappointed. It was a fitting farewell to all the best summer has to offer.Perhaps the most charming bit was when my check was delivered tucked inside an adorable little book, which details much more color theory than one would expect from a title The First Book of Color.I look forward to returning on my next trip and bringing my mother to share the experience with.Thank you Kitchen 428 and Mojos Lounge for such a lovely lunch!

I loved this little place. The drinks,live music, and food were amazing. I cane for the first time recently. They were having a Harry potter themed dinner. It was their 3rd year but I just found out a out it. It was absolutely epic. I cant wait to come back. Just their reg food menu was amazing! However the potter themed food and drink was just the best. To top it off,the decor and scavenger hunt. Ill be returning for this event and in general. I drove 30 mins just to enjoy this awesome place.

Hidden gem just off of Main St.! It was our first time here, but it wont be our last. Great menu, something for everyone, and great service. We happened to be there while they were doing a Harry Potter event, and they also had a special menu. I definitely recommend trying it!

Here in town for a business trip, I went to the map and looked up restaurants and found a couple with good reviews and gave Mojos a shot just by chance and Im glad I did. The outside of the restaurant reminds me a lot of New Orleans the appearance and the vibe of the street feels like youre in Louisiana. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with a very nice bar and a flat screen TV to keep up on sports. I ordered the wagyu bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was absolutely amazing, tasted really good. The bun was so soft and tasted homemade. The steak fries were also very good. They have a few beers on tap and also offer the full wet bar experience. Service was excellent! Give it a shot and be glad you did. The reason I did not score this a solid five star was because their menu was limited. (My Opinion) But definitely very good food!

We did the Wednesday prime rib special. The small cut was more than plenty and was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The salmon crab cakes were good as was the large green salad with the house vinaigrette. Service was excellent. We will be back.

Nice ambiance. Fancy with cloth napkins. It was expensive, the most Ive ever spent on a meal for myself, but you get what you pay for. The vegan coconut curry was soooooo good. I greatly enjoyed my meal! And the service was very attentive. I would definitely go back for my next financial splurge. Its a nice place to take a date.

We planned to go somewhere else on a Sunday and they were closed. Turned out to be a good thing although we didnt think so at the time. We stumbled on this gem and were definitely coming back! Its one street off the main strip that runs through town. It has indoor, air conditioned seating and a really nice outside patio for dining. It has nice lights and patio heaters for the dinner crowd. We went for lunch. I had a bleu cheese wedge salad that was one of the best I had (and I get them a lot). Two of us got burgers and they were both cooked perfectly to our liking. Another person ordered the Monte Cristo and commented on how fresh and flavorful it was. It was all so fresh. The farm to table experience was capped off with very flavorful fruits and vegetables. The tomatoes were so flavorful I was almost suspicious! We ended by sharing a peach / berry cobbler for dessert that was so good we were on the verge of wrestling for the last bite. The service was very attentive and professional. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question we had. She wasnt afraid to make great recommendations. Put this place on your list if you want great quality food and service at a fair price. You wont be disappointed.

Service was fantastic. Their quality of food was superb. However for my family their seasoning choices were not to our liking. The cioppino was more of a bisque than the fish stew we make. Ribeye was tender and cooked perfectly. Still for our taste the balsamic topping was not our cup of tea. Our waiter Emilio was perfect with a high degree attention to detail.

Update: If this place was opened I apologize, but we literally drove by and there was pitch dark in there and we didn’t see any people in the big windows. I didn’t mistake the place it was in Woodland.We stopped by this place yesterday afternoon (11/8/23) and even though it should have been opened, it wasn’t. What a disappointment. If this place is closed permanently then Google needs to update this information on the website.

I was treated very badly by a lady with brown hair and glasses. The bartender with all the tattoos and shaved head saw me but left the bar and I sat there for 30 minutes with no servuce. The lady with the glasses finally set down her glass of wine and came behind the bar to inform me they were closing. In a half hour. I was sitting there unattended for a half hour. What kind of service is this?

This is a quaint and beautiful historic building. Service was impeccable and I wish I knew the gentlemans name. But with an old building, it was extremely drafty and cold. The food presentation was great and potatoes and condiments were as expected. My wife had the filet minion which was done correctly. I had the short ribs which was just stew meat. It was slightly overdone and it was only modestly warm but I would have to blame the drafty conditions. Creme Brulee was great. I like the menu selection so this would visit again just to try it out. A nice place to take a loved one too. Just bring your coat if cold out.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed the food. I had the 12oz prime rib which comes with the mashed potatoes and veggies. My wife had the Rosemary Chicken Breast. It comes with the garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. Her plate was also really good. We also had the spinach artichoke dip and the chocolate cake which were both delicious. The place is nice, clean and the staff was great. I would definitely come back.

I am glad that I finally made the trek to Mojos. I am sure that I will come back here if I want to have a drink and some good food in a quiet, cozy environment with fun art displayed on the walls (and ceiling). This place is in a really old building and feels dark and adulty. They have a decent select of beers on tap and a wonderful menu with some unusual options. I had polenta for the first time here. The wait staff is wonderfully helpful and friendly. I am still confused, though, on how Kitchen428 is related to Mojos. The sign on the door that we entered says Mojos but Google Maps thought we were at Kitchen428. It looks like the two are related in some way. Oh well, good place regardless!

Not only do they serve delicious food and have great beverages (for both kids and adults) but they go all out with the decorations for Halloween. We not only didnt appreciate any of the menu items we ordered but downright disliked almost everything that our party of 24 ordered. This is not fine dining more like wannabe upscale Applebees with some french bistro type menu items. The Korean stuffed bread had a strange sweetness about it.

Went here on a Thursday evening for a fancy (on a grad student budget) date and was not disappointed! Every things we’ve eaten here is amazing. I can’t say enough about the food. It tastes amazing and the presentation is on point! Staff is incredible and works together so well. Tonight we had a blonde young lady that pretty much handled all the tables like a pro! She even had a difficult woman behind us and never missed a beat or got over whelmed. The bartender manager and the rest of the staff all pulled together and no one went without! Love coming here! Great little date night environment or even just drinks with the friends!

My ribeye was tender and juicy! It was enough for 3 separate meals for me too. Everyone at our table of 6 adults and my grandson loved our meal. This is our go to spot in Woodland, especially when we have visitors. Now, when we have people in town, we have to take them to Davis for brunch. We both ear small portions so, I shared the steak sandwich with my husband.The steak was thin chewy, fatty and poorly prepared on a sour dough roll from Columbia breads. The waitress talked us into a bit more expense to the lunch which would get us both a little salad and fries. When our plates arrived my husband had a serving of fries on his plate and I had a bit of bagged salad greens with one container of dressing on my plate. We asked where the Extra portions she had mentioned were...she said that we received the bigger size. The food was poor, the service mediocre. The options for a good sit down restaurant in downtown Woodland are pretty scarce. This place delivers a consistent experience without going to a chain restaurant. They make a fresh soup from scratch everyday and Ive never been disappointed. Ive had the salads and the hot sandwiches and only been disappointed once after a couple dozen or so visits. My favorite is the beet salad add chicken breast. You can sit on the restaurant side or the bar side; I prefer the bar side and usually get very quick service. Id give it 5 stars, except the seating needs to be upgraded and there are occasionally flies in the summertime. But the food is top notch in Woodland.

I had the salmon on polenta, it was quite good, but it was also not even in the same league as the Filet Mignon that my wife had or the Ribeye special that my daughter had. What happened to the chef today at lunch?We ordered a soup and 2 salads. Soup was theoretically Potato-Leak, but I couldnt detect any leak. It was like a bowl of cheesy grits, only not as good (no stock, no seasoning).The beet salad was supposed to have 3 types of roasted beets, and local candied walnuts. What came was only boiled red beets, no nuts, no color, no freshness. The potato soup was too thick and lumpy, no flavor, the beets salad, billed as roasted chiogga, golden and red beets had only boiled red beets. Kitchen 428 woke up downtown Woodland when it opened in 2012. It wasn’t long before it was winning awards, and people were coming from all around.
