I want to start by saying I gave Knolls a only 4 Stars for atmosphere and thats for personal preferences only because its a really nice place. O tend to avoid evenings there because they have live music a lot of the time and while thats great when Im just out for fun, I prefer quiet while I dine. If I loved music while I eat it would get 5 stars. I have eaten here a lot. It is always good. The menu is pretty extensive and it never ceases to amaze me how good it is. Is it like going to Mastros or Capitol Grille? No. But value for your dollar I think its one of the best places you can go for a meal in our area. The bartenders and waitstaff are friendly, service is great the food is good at reasonable prices. What more could you ask for? By the way....Best fish&chips in Orange County. But by all means, dont just stop with that. Everything on the menu is good.

We were there for the music/dance and we were not disappointed. Will and the band delivered, incredibly. Pebbless vocals was just amazing and gorgeous. A new and bigger dance floor just opened so, yay!

The food here is quite good. Unfortunately the music is so loud you can’t have a dinner conversation or hear anything the server is asking you. Stopped in the other night for dinner and had to leave before we ordered because the band was so loud. The new band area is great but try repositioning the speakers and take the volume down a notch during dinner dining hours.

Great neighborhood restaurant with an awesome bar. Live music on a Wednesday night!. Their margaritas are spot on and our favorite dish from the menu was the Hawaiian Poke, it comes with chips that are just perfectly crunchy and delicious. It has a patio with heaters and a fireplace.

I read some bad comments and I didnt go to this place for more than a year. Even though its right down the street. One day my brother husband and I decided to try it for lunch and it was fantastic. The salads were great, the service was wonderful, and the atmosphere is really cool inside. We thoroughly enjoyed it and have been back twice.

Went to see a band play and was pleasantly surprised. Was seated very quickly. Our server Javier was very friendly. I only had a ceasar salad and the man crab cakes. Both were fine but baby let me tell you about the drinks. I had a chocolate martini. When it came it looked suspect but it was very delicious. The ambiance outstanding. You won’t be disappointed.

My recent experience at Knolls Bar was incredibly disappointing due to the presence of a rude, crabby, and clearly alcoholic owner. From the moment I walked in, her negative energy permeated the atmosphere, creating a hostile and unwelcoming environment. Her treatment of the staff was nothing short of appalling, as she consistently berated and belittled them without any regard for professionalism or basic respect.It was evident that the owners alcohol consumption was out of control. Her slurred speech, unsteady movements, and bloodshot eyes left no doubt about her intoxication. It is disheartening to witness someone in a position of authority displaying such irresponsible behavior. Her alcohol-induced impairment clearly affected her ability to manage the bar effectively, resulting in poor service, forgotten orders, and a general lack of attention to detail.Furthermore, the owners rudeness extended to the customers. She made condescending remarks, openly dismissed their concerns, and created a hostile atmosphere. It was clear that her behavior was not an isolated incident but rather a reflection of her character and lack of professionalism. Overall, my visit to Knolls Bar was a regrettable experience, and I strongly advise others to steer clear of this establishment due to the rude, crabby, and alcoholic owner.

Great cocktail list and a wide range of food offerings that are a little all over the culinary map. Service was a slow and scattered. I know a lot of places are having difficulty staffing, but ordering an appetizer and having neither it or the server come back for 25 minutes is a little much. Seemed like there were a lot of regulars being catered to. Im a local and might have considered coming back, but I think Ill stick to my normal spots. With that said, it definitely pulls in a crowd and they have live music so its fun, but definitely a much older crowd.

Great food /drink. Got there at 5:30. Music started at 6:00 and was SO LOUD we could no longer talk while sitting next to each other. PLEASE either start the music at 7:00 or have them play quiet nice background music until 7:00 so the people eating can enjoy and finish their meals.Thank you.

My husband and I love this restaurant/lounge. The Knolls is divided in 2 halfs. It is divided by a glass partition. One side is the restaurant side, if you want more of a quiet and romantic dinning experience. The other side is the bar. The actual bar shape is a u . The bar is beautiful. The food is fantastic, our favorite is Signature pizza and the Boom boom shrimp. Lets not forget the Korean steak Tacos yummmmmmy. 😀 If you love to be entertained by an accomplished guitarist, songwriter/composer and vocalist then Mike Hamilton is a must see. Mike has recorded with several artists Stevie Nicks, Sting, Bette Midler just to name a few. You can catch him on Saturday nights playing at the Knolls.

She is not a professional and also stated she would kill me all because I was talking to her bartender She is an insecure beotch and has no business in business. I witnessed her slapping her staff around and starting arguments with women because she is jealous. It was terrible I’m filing formal complaints. It has a nice atmosphere and we had a nice server, with three people ordering food, none of us would order food there again (except I did like a side of fresh green beans that I had). The worse part was a band that was extremely loud for a small place ( and I crank up my own music sometimes! Lol). We left because of that reason. It seemed that the management was unaware of the sound level that actually hurt our ears.

The fact that knolls has 4 stars on google makes me think review ratings are all lies. This place has fire food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere. The music is also great! Don’t get me wrong, is it full of older people mingling, dancing, and living their best life? Yes, but that’s the beauty of it. 10/10 Go here and eat the lobster Mac. You can thank me later.

Terrible place. Loud music, cant even hear your conversation, have to yell to be heard, and the Owner (Blonde woman) is rude and obnoxious. Did not get one of my items in my order, and when I went to tell the bartender, the owner came over and gave an abrupt No to providing one of the items to me in the missed order even though I was charged. Very shady. Then she proceeded to have an alcoholic shot with a customer at the bar and the waiter. Whats funny is a lot of the reviews are bad- and about her getting wasted. Avoid this place- shes just straight trash.

I’ve dined in and done take out 10-15 times but finally will have to call it quits with Knolls because of the owner of this restaurant. She is inappropriate with her staff on every level and depending on her mood or level of intoxication will be berating them or hooking up with them. I befriended some of the staff over the years and they mostly had to leave because of the insane behavior. Sad to see a good place go down the drain. Cooks do well, I wish someone else would buy this place and run it properly. Lobster carbonara and the chicken/mashed/veggies dish are great. So is the pork chop and their margaritas. Sadly just can’t vote with my dollar on the bad service and weird behavior there.

We could not even have a conversation. People were enjoying dancing and drinking it’s good for that. If you want to enjoy your dinner and be able to talk take your food home.

Please beware! This restaurant has been fighting covid restrictions since day 1. They have installed blackout curtains on exterior windows, and are operating fully with zero safety precautions taken inside. This is important to know for those of you who are ordering from a delivery service, because your food is being prepared in a kitchen that is wholly enveloped by maskless patrons and staff. So even your delivery driver is forced to endanger themselves by picking up your order. It is very sad, and flies in the face of other restaurants trying to do their best and practicing covid safety requirements. Since this restaurant has been operating like this since the beginning, you can bet your books that its a complete covid denier hangout. Which also means that its likely full of super spreaders on any given day. Please consider this before you order here, for your own safety.

Visiting from the UK, we were taken to Knolls by friends who live nearby, and had a really nice time. There are half a dozen screens on the walls on either side of the bar, with a different sport on each but, when we got there, there was some nice music playing and a lot of good-natured chatter among the clientele. Thanks to our friends, we were there for happy hour, during which all the appetisers and some drinks(including wine and margaritas) are reduced, so we enjoyed deep-fried courgettes, slider burgers, sweet chilli king prawns, several glasses of wine and several margaritas, during which time a local band set up and started knocking out some decent covers.

I treated my mother to Valentines dinner and I made it clear this is our first time here. The dinner was great, but two days later I noticed my credit card was charge twice. No problem I call and was told it’s pending it will come off. It’s March 2,2022 an ask to speak with manager on duty. The manager Ms. B that all she gave me for her name was not customer service friendly. Ms. B didn’t over talking me not listening and really just wanted me to hear her out! Not patience, not Knowledgeable on handling customer service. Very very poor management!!! Ms B was so Annoying on the phone over talking me I had to hang up and just deal with bank. Sat outside and had a cevichy and tortillas meal with wine which was delicious! The server was attentive and accommodating. Even the owner came out to say hello which is rare in todays work force. They had a small band inside playing some great hits and they actually sounded good. It is an older crowd that comes, but with a great ambience inside, I highly recommend this place.

This is regular favorite place for us. Food is consistently great. Boom boom shrimp always our favorite ! The sliders are also a good pick. My favorite is their Barbecue pulled pork!!! I’m a previous customer & invited a important client for dinner & drinks.It took 20 mins to get out first drink because the owner was doing shots with our waiter. Then she proceeded to get on stage with the band & dance like a stripper taking our waiter off the service floor & grinding on him. This went on 25 minutes It was the most classless dancing ever. no exaggeration. I’m far from a prude. I’m a man. Then the other couple we were meeting there arrived and said is this a strip club and who is that up there dancing. we said that is the owner with our waiter. We had to ask for another waiter to get our dinner order and drinks.My client asked me if I wanted to leave 3x. This was a nice review as it was so much worse. TL;DR Avoid this place. There are better, more conscientious small businesses to support during the pandemic.Been here before. Food itself is good and menu is varied. Absolutely zero attempt is taken to follow any safety guidelines for COVID19. Our server came to our table with no mask. We asked for him to wear one and his excuse is his broke and hed see what he could do. He returned over and over without a mask, no attempt to distance, and his face within inches of our food and drink. This place is right next to CVS...maybe go buy a mask or have another server serve or use a towel. Tables are not six feet apart, chefs in the back are wearing no mask and no gloves. Bar is packed. Seems this place has good food still but no regard for their communities health and safety. Visit this place if you dont care about your health but otherwise there are way better small businesses to support.We came on a Sunday. Sundays and Mondays are all day happy hour. Bill showed normal prices and we were told they only give some people happy hour menus and didn’t think they gave us one. Seems very discriminatory and pretty scammy. Sadly not going to be a patron here anymore. Happy to go to Baja Fish and Chelas instead.

Great happy hour. Drinks were a good deal and had a select food menu too. I believe the bartenders were Lance and Jose, they were fun to chat with and very knowledgeable. Lots of craft beer on tap and nice wine selection. We had sandwiches after happy hour ended and both were excellent. The Brie & Hickory Smoked Bacon sandwich was so good! Very nice establishment, Im lucky to live close enough to go back frequently.

The ONLY reason I’m giving Knoll’s two stars is because of the rude owner. There is no excuse for rudeness!!! The food is great, the music is always enjoyable, drinks are good, the staff is great and very friendly. But not the owner, unless you’re a couple or a single man. Then she’s “all over you like a cheap suit.” However, if you’re a single woman, she will ignore you no matter how many times you visit her establishment. It doesn’t matter if you’re 30 or 60, she purposely ignores single women. She’s very pretty and dresses beautifully, so I don’t understand why she feels so threatened? I’ve gone in quite a few times for a couple of drinks and hors d’oeuvre’s and the bill is usually around $100 for two people, which is fair. But, after the last time she treated us in this manner, whilst making her way around the tables and bar, stopping to chat with everyone except us and the two, other single woman across the bar, I have not gone back. She certain doesn’t deserve my patronage or money...

Used to enjoy this great little hideaway. Have come and recommended often. Nice bar, lounge, but the last 3 times weve been, its been more and more disappointing. Food and cocktails are always good, but the wait staff was slow, and off 2 of the last 3 times.Never a good if you have to go get your own drink at the bar or cant get your check, then have to chase down server to pay that check too... We woukdbe stayed and eaten, drank more but the biggest problem was tge deafening music...and it was still dinner hour. One time it was a first date I couldnt enjoy, hear. 630 is too earky to blast out diners or daters. OUR eardrums head literally HURT! We were both cringing at volume and off key singer. Forget trying to visit as planned. We couldnt wait to get out of there, and wont go back if theres THIS kind of music during dinner hour. I normally like a place w music, but for this small place, later at at half the volume. Too bad they cant figure out a compromise. :(

While my first experience at knolls was fantastic. My second was awful and short lived. I check ahead of time to see what time the business closes on a Friday evening. I am pleased they are open until 11. I get there around 10:20 PM. The lights are on, people are inside drinking and laughing and as I walk in the bartender asks me whats going on, and informs me that they are closed. I dont ask questions and leave. As Im leaving the bartender asks the others inside if they like what he did there. This is highly unprofessional. If your business is closed you need to indicate that to potential customers. I feel like the bartender on duty tonight simply chose not to serve me. If I were running this business, this person would be reprimanded. This establishment has lost my business, which is a shame, because the food and location are fantastic.

I have been going to Knolls for a while now they have great bands and the food is unbelievable.I have to share my last experience I made a reservation for 3 for a Saturday evening and when I got there they could not find my reservation I went to the manager a beautiful young lady and I told her what happen and instead of her telling me we are booked bla bla bla she said to me I will sit you anywhere you want tell me where you want to sit I looked at her and said wow you really cater to your customers she was very sweet accommodating and very professional as I told her I think I will stay at the bar I thanked her for her kindness and professionalism. Tried this place for something different. With the price and location, I expected much more. I walked in to pick up a to-go order and no one greeted me. After a few minutes, I walked up to the bar. No one said a word. I then grabbed a server and asked how to pick up food and he hastily pointed saying in the back. Umm... Back where? Definitely lacking customer service.The food. We ordered a quesadilla, lobster mac and cheese and crab cakes. I saw the price and figured they must be good. The quesadilla was okay. Not quite enough cheese for the tortilla. I expected a whole quesadilla, not a half. The lobster mac was like eating Kraft boxed white cheddar mac and cheese. No cheesiness to it. No flavor. Nothing. There were also lobster shells. I did have lobster chunks, but that was the only good thing. The crab cakes were okay. They would have been great with some lemon. You only get a dab of the sauce, which lacked flavor, too. The crab cakes were rich, for sure. A nice amount of crab, which I appreciated.Overall, Knolls was okay. I doubt I would return. If I did, it would not be anytime soon. Photos have been posted.

Great food. Fun and cool atmosphere. It is definitely nice to have a new place in Laguna Niguel that is perfect to hang out and have a meal at. Food is seriously amazing. Staff works very hard.Heads up sweet potato fries are a smidge extra. If you are like me you may not have expected that otherwise so just a heads up. Leaving 4 stars only because the food is good and weve always liked this place. Based on the new rebrand Id give it 3 stars.Tried calling for 30 minutes to place a to-go order but no one picked up. Drove there to see it was rebranded as Knolls with slight redesign inside as well. We used to enjoy eating here but the quiet ambience was replaced with a packed crowd and very loud guitar player. Food is still very good so well definitely come back but we were disappointed to see the new direction management decided to take. FYI - two women walked in while we were waiting and instantly said it was too loud as they decided whether to stay or not. Not sure what they decided as our food came and we left.

The waiter forgot my drink even tho he brought my husband his. I had to ask for it when he brought me my soup. The corn chowder was delicious but the meatballs and mashed potatoes were a complete disappointment. The potatoes were thin and runny, the meatballs had no flavor and we’re mushy. It took awhile to get our check, we just about ready to walked out without paying because it took so long then he gave us someone else’s. A $75 shock. We come here because it’s very close to home.

Went in and sat down at an almost empty bar. Blonde bartender ( I believe her name was Angie) did not even bother to greet us. Sat and waited for over 7 minutes for her to acknowledge our existence but it never happened. She did have time however to count her tips and immediatly serve the 3 ladies that walked in a few minutes after us. I wont be returning to the restaurant as long as shes working. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because I have been in the past and it hasnt been nearly this bad. Angie should be replaced ASAP with someone who can at least say Hello.

Foods terrible. Pretty irritated of the fact that when I have seen knolls open which is all the time considering I grocery shop at Albertsons next door the bar is open, no masks and no social distancing. If you want to get sick go to knolls. They dont care about YOUR health or their employees health.

We have been to Knolls many times in the past. We went there last night for the first time since the virus hit. They are doing nothing to protect employees or customers. No masks, no gloves and no sanitation measures, just wrong down tables with a damp bar towel.Even when we are past this, we will not be back.

I often stop by for HH before grocery shopping. They always get the HH pricing wrong. If you don’t check, beware. Usually it’s the computer messed up. Tonight it was the prices have all gone up and they just didn’t get the chance to change menus or internet. This is a rip off bar. Be careful.

They need to hire a plumber, literally reeks of sewage inside, Walked in with GF, she sat at the bar, smelled so bad I made a comment to her and said lets leave. thanks Lady sitting next to GF goes god your right it does smell like sewer gas. Bye. Then yesterday are nextdoor for TT, see outside hose bib and its literally leaking foul water from it into the front patio. Mold and feces really makes the appetite grow.

Great little gem in a shopping center. For months Ive passed right by this place and written it off because it was in a shopping center but today I went to lunch and was very pleasantly surprised. Nice cool vibe inside... friendly service and an awesome menu to choose from.

My friends invited me to this place to listen to the musical group. We were having a great time, dancing and the music was excellent, until an arrogant and extremely rude woman and another employee ruined our Night. According to I believe, she is the cook; The employee threw my phone when I wanted to record his insults, I felt very humiliated. We will not return to this place. I know that life puts those people in their place, sooner or later. Karma.
