The ice tea was black, we couldnt see through it.The atmosphere is cool, oriental decor and sushi boats that travel by.The food wasnt bad. There were a couple things I went back to get seconds of.

Listen, its a buffet. The Mongolian bbq station in the back is great with some fried or steamed rice. Pick your own ingredients and they cook it up fresh in the wok right in front of you. Take it to your table and enjoy.😗👌This review however is for the service. Our server is worth all 5 stars. She even put a birthday song on the speakers for my sisters birthday, so we could cut cake. Thank you! ♡**We brought the cake, they provided the plates, knife, utensils and even offered candles. We brought our own though.

Been there twice, could not tell you exactly how many times weve been there but were going again with a new group of people on the 18 th. Just about every time we bring someone new with us, and they become regular customers as well. Fantastic place to go. Very clean and professional. Great buffet. Fantastic choices of fresh sushi. Price Includes all you can eat sushi that you can pick from small boats that pass by you, special order menu, desert buffet, even a larger selection of other than sushi buffet. Great place if you just want to try different types of sushi without breaking the bank. Under $19 per person for lunch. Very popular place to eat. Only thing has changed is, they got even better

They have sushi on boats and the food is very good. A decent variety between sushi Chinese food and Mongolian bbq. The deserts are very good as well. Lunch 15.95 with tax and dinner 22.95 with tax.

We came to this place at lunch, around 11:30am. They open at 11. This is a decent buffet. There was a limited amount of “Chinese” food out. The sushi rolls had minimal amount of fish in it. All of the rolls on the revolving belt had no raw fish on it.Overall it’s an ok buffet. I gave it a three star because of the decent food and expensive price.

By no means a very fancy place but the great food and service make up for it. They have a huge assortment of steam table dishes including Kobe checking, chow mein and the list goes on and on. I think their specialty is the little boats that float around in the serpentine around the lunch counter with With plates of sushi. Better than that you can order whatever sushi rolls you like it as many times as you like.. Your buck goes along way here. I’ve been here several times and I’ve never been disappointed

Affordable, Fast, Great Service! You can definitely go and try this amazing place in Modesto. This eat all you can destination offers Mongolian, Japanese, Chinese, and a variety of other food options. Coconut Shrimp is pretty good! An area for improvement would be cleanliness and ice cream!

First time here and what a well kept restaurant. The staff was very nice and helpful, and even the restrooms were very well kept. The sushi boats had many choices and very delicious. So wa la a buffet, I thank the heavens I was thinking covid would discontinue them. The staff was on it keeping everything clean. The amount of items to choose from was wide many tasty foods and a salad bar a Mongolian bar and dessert 🍨 bar. My only complaint is alot of the items were warm not hot kind of a bummer. Overall all was.good.

The food was not worth the dinner price of $22.95. Much of the food was bland. The sushi served is cold. Just good enough to consume, but don’t expect to be wow’d...My friends and I stayed no more than 15 minutes before we decided to leave. Yet when we paid in one tab, the waitress stopped us while we were leaving asking why we didn’t leave a tip. My friend ended up giving her $5, yet commented how crazy it was she asked for a tip since she didn’t serve us other than pick up a couple plates.Overall, I don’t recommend going. Food quality isn’t there. Service is hardly there. Atmosphere feels dead.I’m not one to leave these type of reviews, you can check my past reviews.

Service is amazing and friendly. Food was beyond exceptional and Ive ate sushi for years at some of the top restaurants in San Francisco and elsewhere. I have family from Japan and had made sushi at home myself, and Ive owned three coffee shops so I can tell you this place is clean and very well managed. We have taken friends here on special occasions, my wife and I do our date nights here, my daughter and I have our sit down and enjoy each others company session... I guess you could just say my whole family loves this place. Met the owner Kevin wants and a very very nice person. All the staff are kind. Theyre very good at accommodating people with disabilities, again they are friendly. I would recommend not eating for a day or two prior going because youre going to love every bite so much youll want to try everything.

So when we first walked in it was me my son and my wife. We were there at 2:25 and the manager there his name is Joseph (very rude), he was saying that they were going to close in 30 minutes and we asked him if there’s any food left and he said yes, a bunch of fresh food that came out so we just went to go get eat some sushi and I went to go get some food. Their food was really dry. There is barely any food so I asked for the manager .(Joseph )was very rude. He was saying that oh that’s how the noodles are supposed to be there supposed to be dry even though every single time whenever I eat them they’re juicy but this time they were very dry like the food was very bad quality. I would never come here again and he charged us for three people even though none of us ate anything of how bad the food was terrible service never come here again.

There aren’t many all you can eat places anytime, much less really good ones. We travel all the way from Stockton to come eat here which can be 30-45 minutes each way. Do yourself a favor and wait to sit by the boars…fresh sushi going right in front of you whatever you want.

By far the best sushi in the entire valley. The staff is very friendly. Theres plenty of seating. A very short wait if anything. It is all you can eat, and has a wonderful buffet as well. The sushi comes around on boats and theres more than enough. Special order items off of a menu can be ordered such as dragon rolls. Its definitely well worth the price at $22.95 per person for dinner. Its a great place for a date, a family get-together, kids enjoy the place as well. The food is actually made fresh right in front of you and is put on boats that come around to you and you take whatever you want. Theres plenty of handicap parking and handicap entrance. There are even vegetarian choices as well as some other special dietary items

Been here a few times. Today on my birthday, the food quality was bad. First time its bad. Everything.. No seriously! Everything! The Mongolian pork, orange chicken, and their salmon were all oily and felt thick. Listen guys. Im fat. I LOVE meat, red meat, beef, pork, seasoned fries, fried rice, etc. Id literally eat 3 to 5 dishes of refilled plates! This time I only ate 90% of my food and didnt like anything.The fried rice felt like they didnt clean the rice good, it was still hard and also it was oily too.. very thick fried rice. I could literally see it looking so glossy and maybe even my reflection. The fries didnt even have any taste on them. It looks like KFC French fries, but was NOTHING close to being as good. Ive eaten different fries from a multitude of restaurants other than fast food, today, on my Birthday at Kobes in Modesto, it would rank dead last.Their House steak wasnt even steak at all!! It was literally just pig pork. Like a bootleg Filipino Lechon... The ranch had a weird taste. Why does it taste like that? Beijing Buffet in Stockton, CA is better 1000 times over.My family and I left with me still being hungry.. Thats actually insane. Me?? Still hungry after going to an all-buffet? Thats amazingly surprising. I didnt want to say something to the chef or anything. Honestly, just because I wanted to stay happy as possible in face value for today. I know I shouldve said to the chef. But I didnt want to see them sad or angry and I would feel miserable. So I figured its best to say it here..

Food is just alright. When first opened some years ago there was more variety in actual rolls. Now its all imitation crab rolls with different sauce. The buffet is still decent, and Mongolian grill is great when they actually have someone to cook it. If you are new to sushi, this is probably an ok start since you can try other food. But if you are a sushi fan, its likely not your type of place.

First time here (08/28/23). Was in the vicinity so I looked up the reviews and it seemed worth the try. I must say that I was pretty disappointed. For the price of dinner @ $22.99, I can see the value. But I am all about a good meal and a good overall experience. I much rather pay more for a much better quality experience. First off, everything seemed sticky. My chair was barely able to slide on the floor. My shoes made a peeling noise every time Id take a step. You know, the sound of velcro peeling off? Yea, thats the sound. I sat at the bar and the counter top was black in color but felt like it needed a good scrub down. My arms that layed on it seemed like there was a gummy film. The sushi boats were moving so fast, it reminded me of I Love Lucy with the chocolates on the conveyor belt. I could barely grab my plate of food. Around and around it went, the same ole stuff, absolutely boring and low end rolls. There were only a few nigiri choices with a lot of rice underneath that slice of fish. The buffet choices are your typical Chinese American dishes. They were either completely bland (veggie chow mein) or too salty (mongolian pork). It was on either side of the spectrum with taste. I went to the use the restroom before leaving and the handicap stall wont even lock, no hook to hang anything inside. Nothing to even pull the door inward to lock. The paper towel dispenser is broken. Overall, the maintenance in that place seemed indeed neglected and substandard. I wont be going back. I rather not eat there than to pay (or lose) $23. I am just in awe and baffled with all the great reviews.

Kobe Sushi Buffet is well kept and staff are very friendly :) We got here a little after they opened at 11 and it already had people at the sushi bar.You choose either a table or the bar, then your host/(ess) with take your drink order.You are free to start taking whichever plates that catch your interest as they float by on the little boats! (My favorite part! And waaaay more affordable and variety than when ordering at a regular sushi restaurant)They have something for everyone! For picky eaters or those with an asian cuisine aversion, there are even chicken nuggets and french fries available! They offer all you can eat sushi on the boats, chinese food in the buffet area, and a Mongolian bbq available (when the chef is in) to have your food cooked in front of you it looks like!Naturally with a buffet style restaurant, not *all* of the food is fresh and hot, but despite that, we loved it and will definitely be back!I was wondering if they have a system to tell how long a food item has been in rotation on the boat train, but wasnt really prepared to ask the sushi chef, he seemed busy anyway lol

For me personally its really hard to give an accurate rating. I went out of my natural box to try something different - Im NOT a Sushi fan or any sort of fish/seafood eater, but still enjoyed myself.If you do like sushi, the little boats were actually pretty cool and festive looking, so giving that a plus as most people I watched chose to sit at the boat bar area.The other buffet food was okay in my opinion, Im not a huge buffet sort of person. There were lots of choices, but it just wasnt my style of food. Cant give any complaints on what I did have, everything was decent quality and prepared well.Staff was friendly, service was good. Id go with friends here as a group, but type of food not for me personally - hard to compare as I dont usually choose this sort of food.Lots of sushi eaters that seemed to be enjoying their meals.Decently priced in my overall opinion! Worth the experience, & there are enough choices of other foods even if youre not a Sushi fan, so go enjoy.... I didnt get any pics this time, but the photos by others are accurate.

You go in, get a bar seat, sit down, and eat sushi until youre satisfied. No waiting, no fuss, no decisions. Maybe go to the buffet toward the back if you want some other things. Nothing here is of exceptional quality, but its all plenty enough to warrant the price.

Loved this place. I had heard some bad things so was scared to come and it took a while for me to gain the courage to try it. Boy was I missing out. This place is top-notch. Food was amazing. They had a hibachi area which I loved. Just choose what you want and they cook it in front of you. Amazing bao buns. Yummy sesame balls. And great Chinese food. Obviously the star attraction is the sushi boats which was so cool to just grab when your seated at the bar. They include seaweed salad and yummy spicy cucumbers. Only reason for 4 stars versus 5 was they really did have vegetarian options in terms of the sushi. Overall though. Yummy. Highly recommend. Great price as well.

I’m just gonna be honest…not going back. I’ve given this place so many chances and I always WANT to enjoy it but never do. First of all…it was hot. Really hot inside. I don’t know about anyone else but personally I can’t stand it when it’s hot and I’m trying to eat. Makes me sick. Especially while wrangling kids. It was also dirty and grungy feeling. Table was dirty, floor was sticky, flies were buzzin around and the bathroom wasn’t any better. The place just feels worn down. The buffet is ok. It’s a buffet so I don’t put a lot on it. But the food is hard core “meh”. You don’t really feel like eating what you got after the first bite. My husband likes the sushi. So there’s that. And the kiddos liked the edamame…but for close to $100 I want to enjoy more than some rolls and beans. The deserts were even disappointing. Dry tasting and bland and very obviously bought outside the facility and brought in. The cookies were still in plastic trays like you get from the store and sitting off to the side on the counter. The Mongolian bbq also wasn’t open. I see a lot of reviews raving about the staff. It felt really blasé. Nice enough but kinda dead. And no issues with that…customer service SUCKS to work in…but to see the reviews talking about really friendly staff makes me a little jealous. Overall the place feels worn down and grungy and I don’t feel like it’s really worth the price we paid today. Food wasn’t really all that good either.

Not only Sushi here, but a Chinese Buffet too. So there is something for everybody. So many choices! Loved it. Sushi is fresh, being made and displayed on little boats. You just take you pick as it comes around. They have a large variety, couldnt name everything if I tried. Reasonably Priced about 25 dollars per person on the weekend and specials during the week. 1st time visit and pleasantly surprised. 10 min wait to be seated on a Sunday was not bad. Sushi was fresh, crab legs were good, the noodles were so thick and flavorful they almost tasted homemade. The deserts were a nice variety... little coffee chocolate cakes were worth the second round. Lots of options, hot or cold food and fast service- a win for the good eats but a loss for the diet... I want to try this place at lunch now to see if they keep it full of options.

I liked it here. The sushi is pretty good, and they had crab legs! I was craving crab legs. I really enjoyed the sushi boats because it reminded me of my childhood. Im happy to find a sushi buffet near where I live now.The staff was friendly. It was pretty busy when we arrived and left. But, they still made sure to take our plates.I definitely would come here again for the crab legs and the endless sushi. 😋

This buffet stands out to me. The food was fresh and the sushi was made right in front of you. Pase yourself, dont pig out! I went for lunch, the sushi variety was limited, but the price was reasonable. They had very good sour soup, great chicken, seafood, raw food they cook fresh for you, and great service. I would definitely go back if Im back in town.

We had the Dinner Buffet.Im always down for some good seafood. Im also really down for some Chinese Dim Sum! All of which are on this buffet.If youre not picky about tastes and take it for what it is, a decently priced asian buffet, this place is not bad.What made this experience, just average for me is their sushi! Great that the sushi comes on little boats floating on water. Love that!But, this was some of the most terrible sushi Ive ever tasted. The rice was not sushi rice. Not seasoned. Some pieces were overly mushy, while other pieces of rice was HARD as pebbles! Bland and not flavorful sushi rice. If you go to a authentic sushi spot where you pay the price for quality sushi, youll understand what I mean by sushi rice.I pulled sushi off of the boats and also ordered off of their limited sushi menu. Made fresh. The tempura flakes were NOT crunchy. Tasted OLD and like STALE fried bits. Oily. Nasty. They sprinkle these tempura flakes all over most of their specialty sushi items. So bad. We tried 7 out of the 8 specialty sushi.The salmon skin hand rolls came with flimsy, oily, fish skins. Not crisp and fresh. Seemed like the salmon skins were made in bulk, sat out, then just assembled in a messy hand roll.Shrimp Tempura used in the sushi was also OLD, OILY, and STALE tasting. They do upcharge if you dont eat all the sushi. Rightfully so, SOOOO beware and order sushi with caution. Go SLOW and be sure you like the flavor before you order too much.Also the imitation crab lacked flavor as well and it is in most of their specialty sushi, too. Blah!Overall, I cant say it was a 4 star DINNER experience, as its rated on Google Maps. Maybe for lunch at a $11.95 price, it might be worth the cost, but honestly I would pay more for higher quality sushi. Will do that the next time.On the plus side, we had great, quick service. The host that sat us was a bright soul. Thank you!

I swear the pandemic better not let this place die! If youre looking for super amazing 5 star sushi this probably isnt the place for you, but if youre looking for affordable, all you can eat sushi, that tastes pretty darn good then this is exactly where you want to go! My friends and I sit at the bar every time because the sushi is easy to grab off the floating boats. They also have a decently sized Asian buffet towards the back of the restaurant. Ive been here countless times and Ive never been disappointed! Hurry up and open again!!

The sushi boats are super cute, it’s a nice restaurant however the floors were greasy and slippery we had to be very careful when getting around. The table was very wobbly at our booth as well. The sushi is good and so is a lot of the food available, however I refuse to believe the sushi or other food items are fresh due to the bitter aftertaste. Our tab was brought to us rather fast too.

The place is nice and its affordable too if you want to take somebody to a date night or just have friends and conversations and all you can eat sushi or different platters of food that they have thats a place youll go. $15 for lunch and 22 or 25 for dinner plus tax so its like $27 youll be paying in about $22 youll be paying included with a drink that you asked for so price range is nice The food and service is nice I prefer sitting at the bar where the boats are to pull sushi off the platter.

For lunch, its phenomenally affordable, and for dinner its still reasonable. Tasty sushi, and a good, hot, fresh selection at the buffet. I love being able to just sit down and start trying sushi rolls. I will say, though, that theres not a lot of different options for sushi rolls, and a more traditional restaurant would likely provide higher-quality rolls. Nonetheless, Ive never been disappointed.

I’ve given this places about 3 chances and it just seems to get worse each time. The variety of sushi is boring and repetitive so it’s hard to enjoy when they don’t ever seem to add anything new or different. The buffet is not great, the chow mein is so oily and the cream cheese wontons have hardly any cream cheese inside, very disappointing. It seemed every time that I went up to the buffet area the man trying to wipe things down and keep it clean would just huff and puff because customers were getting in his way. The eushi was old and all tasted the same. The non sushi options were also old tasting and/or flavorless. The one thing I did like was the catfish fillets in ginger sauce. Everything else was gross. We paid almost $200 for 6 people and it definitely was not even close to being worth what we paid. There are other restaurants in the area that taste way better. And guess what? Sushi buffet use to be great when they first opened up with an all you can eat sushi on the boats and even on the chefs menu. They have a sign posted up front stressing not to waste food. They no long offer the all you can eat from the chefs menu. The sushi made from the boats I see are fillers with mainly imitation crab sushi which Im not a fan of. The imitation crab sushi are cheaply made sushi. Some of the rolls with the salmon on them have thinner slices of salmon. All of the sushi on the boats from the lunch time are left on the boats for dinner time. The sushi is not so fresh. They have reduced the quality of the sushi roles for my preference. I would have to go elsewhere for my sushi fix. The buffet foods is ok. I like the hibachi grill as you can choose what meat and sides you want so the hibachi chef can cook it for you.

Like during the dinner buffet, you can place special orders for sushi rolls for free. Or that you can take some home when youre done. Or that you can also partake of the Chinese style buffet at the back for no extra cost.PROS: Kobe Sushi boasts a sushi bar that contains a bunch of little boats on an artificial river, each of which has three different plates, with usually two pieces of a unique sushi roll or nigiri on each plate. It allows you to experiment and see what you like and what youre not so fond of. You can ask what something is called, and if you like it enough, you might order a full plate of that. Or you might just do what I usually do, and just sit at the sushi bar and take stuff off the boats as they pass by for most of the meal.CONS: As I said, theres a lot they dont tell you, so people new to the restaurant are often overwhelmed and have no idea what theyre allowed to do. The more you come, the more you learn you can do there. Also, as with every sushi restaurant, they close down between their Lunch and Dinner times. There are no special orders during Lunch, either. If you come at the end of the Lunch time, or the end of the Dinner time, you might end up getting a roll or two thats been on the boats for most of the day, and it may not taste as fresh as if you come an hour after they open. Its a buffet. Food was edible, lacked flavor, but you can eat all you want. The sushi bar is pretty cool too, again the sushi is alright, its a buffet, wouldnt expect amazing food. Was a little packed when I arrived but the hostess was all over the place and still kept up with everything, props to her.

Pretty solid all around joint. Sushi is pretty good but, you cant expect it to be great with it being all you can eat. Sodas were a bit flat and the wasabi paste was much more pale in color than Ive seen before but, tasted decent enough. Rice was also slightly over cooked. Service was very prompt and employees were polite and cheerful. Entertaining to see sushi going around on little boats. In my personal opinion, Osaka Sushi (just around the corner on McHenry) has a little better Sushi but, at the cost of slower service.

Horrible place to go to. The short and skinny chines girl, asked for money when we asked for napkins and she was loud and very demanding for money. They never refilled our water.we asked to see the maneger but instead they sent one of the other waitress and they all kept laughing . I hope the owner finds out, how his costumers are being treated. This was the most terrible experience in my entire life. Never go back to this place.

The quality of the sushi isnt as high as other sushi places, but thats what youre paying for. This is a buffet, you get quantity over quality. That isnt to say it isnt good though, a lot of the rolls are good. Just dont expect to be wowed and youll enjoy it just fine, I go here often because if I ate at other sushi places I would never get full.

Lots of dust and water staining overhead and should of stopped and left but was hungry and they had Sierra Nevada beer so I tried . Staff was nice food was okay just not my style. Needs some serious cleaning and maybe loose the Chinese buffet, just my opinion, best of luck

Alright if youre looking for a sushi buffet, this is the number one spot in town you need to go to. If all restaurants in town were buffets, this would get a 5 star rating. However if youre looking for just sushi, the score is around 4 stars, as other places like kimoto sake and sushi offer more variety in sushi, and end up being better quality. That being said, considering the fact that its a buffet though, Kobe is definitely a solid place to go for a meal

I took my family out to eat there on our second time there, and they were complaining saying here we go again with these people in Chinese, sighing and rolling their eyes. I actually understand a bit of Mandarin/cantonese. I dont get why you would open a place like this and complain.

Food is mediocre at best. Went during lunch, sat at the bar, no one came to refill our waters or clear our empty plates. No even once. And they were far from packed so theres no excuse. Rolls are just ok. Most of them are filled with krab so if thats your thing, you probably wont mind as much. Hot food was thoroughly underwhelming. For $12, it was every bit a $6 lunch.

This is a great all around sushi buffet for various reasons. If you take the family and not all like sushi, there are alternate foods that are also on par with the delicious sushi. There is the sushi bar where the sushi is on boats floating around where you can choose whichever you want. There are also specialty rolls that you can order for the table that are amazing. The only negative is the dessert, but who goes to a sushi buffet for some dessert? If you are feeling extra hungry Kobe Sushi will leave you very full. I would even recommend it to those who are new to sushi, but be sure to take a guide to make sure you dont eat a ball of wasabi!

Best sushi buffet Ive tried! During the weekdays, they close at 3:30pm and open back up at 5:30pm. Lunch is cheaper than dinner, but its still less than $20 per person for dinner which is totally worth it since a roll somewhere else costs on average $15-$17 bucks or so. All you can eat sushi with the little sushi boats going around. They have a menu you can order from too if you want your own complete roll. They also have chinese food buffet and mongolian bbq! All you can eat! Soft drinks are only $1 with refills. They have alcohol too. I love this place!

They got a cool conveyor belt with little boats that carry the sushi. You can pick what is available right in front of you. If you cant sit next the boats you can sit in a booth and wait at the ends of the conveyer belt to get what you want. Plus they have other food if your not into sushi.

Lovely setup with the floating sushi in the front and buffet at the back! Only wish there was a bigger assortment of floating sushi instead of more of the same floating around and around. Service is excellent and staff are friendly. Highly recommend.
