We sat at the bar, the girl bar back was friendly. The food was ok. Calamari was very bland and the scallops were OK. The beef carpaccio was really good I don’t like capers so next time I’ll ask to not have them added. The tuna tartare was very good as well.

Best service. Best food. Best atmosphere. Best in SLO period. I have no connection to this place outside of coming here a handful of times. Tonight I got the herb roasted halibut served over a large and delicious wild mushroom ravioli, sautéed spinach, and the most incredible basil vermouth sauce. Topped with melted tomatoes. The service in the bar from Christian and Jeremy is best in town. This is the best dinner I’ve had in the tri counties. Don’t miss this spot. All time.

I’ll start with the food. It was exquisite! My whole family enjoyed their meals and frankly we couldn’t stop eating even after we were full. The food was very fresh and plated quite beautifully! We got a chance to meet the owner and she was lovely and friendly. Our waiter was amazing and very funny and even though it was busy, he still managed to attend to our every need. The prices on some of the entrees were high but pro tip: the vegetarian menu is quite affordable and offers delicious substitutes to many of the entrees. The most expensive thing on the vegetarian menu was $19 (which wasn’t bad at all considering the quality and quantity of food given) The atmosphere was lovely. It was a perfect fancy/casual dinner. If you’re looking for a nice meal in a professional yet comfortable atmosphere, come to Koberl at Blue. Also it’s very close to The Madonna Inn and a great, less expensive alternative to the Gold Rush Steak House (it also has more availability than the steak house) Our server was amazing (I’ve forgotten his name but it was something fancy that started with a B. Maybe Byzan or Bizan?) If you happen to get him you are very lucky although it seemed like all the waiters were all very kind! 5 stars isn’t even enough to express our enjoyment of this restaurant!

Highly recommend this location if youre looking for an upscale restaurant. The food selection is great, and the atmosphere is upscale, however, with a casual flare. Our server Eric was outstanding. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and Eric went up and beyond to make this a very special evening. If we should find our way back to this area, we would make reservations and dine here again.

5 stars I ate here a month ago and still thinking about that steak.... 😋 Service was excellent and the ambience was amazing. I did sit outside and what a view. I tried the tomato soup as well as some ice cream. Oh forgot to mention a bottle of wine 🍷 silly me. Everything tasted amazing. The server was helpful and friendly and insisted I try the dessert. Good choice 👌 also I know this kind of random... but perfectly cooked vegetables. Often you go to a restaurant and theyre a little too al dente for me. Beautiful flavor texture and presentation all around. The table sitting next to me and I were discussing just how good the steaks here were.

My hubby & I have always loved Koberl & were looking forward to celebrating our anniversary here post pandemic. We were not disappointed. The same great food & service as always. We started with fried calamari & snow crab chinois. Our main course was Sautéed Duck Breast & duck confit, Sea Bass with black beans, & rice with chorizo & fresh peas (yum!). For dessert we shared the vanilla Crème brûlée with fresh berries. Everything from start to finish was delicious and our server Eric was the best!

I love going to Blue. Patricia is a wonderful host! I always get the key lime martini hold the gram cracker rim. It’s my favorite! You can request the sugar rim instead... yum! It’s a great place to meet up with friends for a couple cocktails and some food. We also make this our normal stop before going to a show at SLO Rep. It’s a little pricy, but seems worth it to treat yourself.

Went here on a siblings Treat Yourself Day, the restaurant way exquisite with a sharp staff. I ordered a bottle of riesling for the table, it was splendid. Next we ordered the surf and turf special, which was filet mignon and lobster with a potato, crispy onions and asparagus. Could not believe how amazing it tasted, my sister got the new York steak with whipped potatoes, green beans and crispy onions. Might of been the best dinner ever, but then we ordered the chocolate lava cake!!! OMG SMG in disbelief, my mouth exploded with joy! Definitely coming back soon for another visit!

We’ve had food and drinks at just about every place available in SLO and we keep coming back to Blue as our favorite spot over all. The craft cocktails are great and the food at the bar and in the restaurant is always excellent. The menu offers something for everyone. We love the appetizers! The ambiance, for us, is the best in town. But we most enjoy the staff. They are, without exception, personable and professional. Already looking forward to the next visit!

This is our familys must to dine destination on each visit to SLO. It is an excellent restaurant with a classy atmosphere. It is consistent. It makes you feel good every time. The owner is there on almost every our visit and she is most welcoming. Staff is well trained and friendly.Bethany, our hostess tonight, was outstanding and made us feel like we are her personal guests.Drinks, food and desserts were, as always, delicious and above the praise. Simply have to share so others are prepared.....Stopped by one earlier afternoon several weeks ago for appetizers and drinks - very nice experience.Some weeks later we decided to give their dinner a try - what a completely opposite experience.Even with reservations and with several available tables open, we were seated in the noisiest section of the restaurant.So noisy in fact that we could barely hear each other - sitting only 2ft apart. Even the server struggled throughout the evening to hear us and for us to understand her - not her fault at all.Heres a TIP for the owner - who proceeded to make excuses instead of listening to feedback. Dont seat smaller tables next to large parties in an acoustically challenged space - know your environment!The food was average at best and certainly not worth near the $$$.I must iterate that our server was excellent. She conducted herself professionally despite all of us struggling to hear each other the entire evening.Its no wonder theres always a Now Hiring sign on their door as we have chatted with past employees who now work at other places in town - consensus was ownership issues.So many wonderful restaurants in SLO and its not that hard to do things right - I recommend you try them first.

My husband and I walked in to try out this restaurant. We are locals and have been wanting to give it a try. We walked in and felt so unwelcome by bartending staff and who I assume is the Manager or Owner. They were full and offered for us to at the bar.. but it felt like i we were more of an imposition than a patron ready to enjoy a pleasant meal. We honestly felt leas than and I will never go back to give them a try. Who does that to guests? Too many other places and we ended up enjoying a beautiful mea elsewhere.I will tell everyone I know to reconsider their options if this place is ever on their list.Appreciate everyone who walks in your door, Thank them for coming and tell them you are happy they came in. Its not that hard folks! I hope this feedback helps someone to have a better experience than we did!

My husband and I want to be kind because the service was good. Our waitress and the wait staff were attentive and polite. When we arrived at the fine dining restaurant--- it was so loud, my husband and I could not hear each other at a small table. We tried to say it was lively because of how good the food was. The quality of ingredients was excellent-- beautiful scallops cooked perfectly but they were so salty, they were inedible. We sincerely think there was a terrible error because our entire meal was so salty--- salt in the sugar shaker type of thing. Fully expecting a higher price for a delicious meal, we were quite disgruntled to have left after paying so much to not be able to eat our food. Will not go back, disappointed because the reviews and menu made it look awesome.

The service and atmosphere were both good and the food was excellent. Our server was on point with recommendations and all three of us really enjoyed our meals. The halibut was very good but the mushroom ravioli that came with it may have been even better. My mother ordered the shrimp and scallops, which were both also good--Im kind of a stickler on scallops but I thought they were better than average--and the accompanying soba noodles seemed too salty for me but my sister, who likes salty, said they were some of the best shed ever had. She ordered the chicken, which was very good for chicken, but maybe just a little dry in the very middle. Again, the accompaniment, which was artichoke risotto, was superb and may have been my favorite of the evening. Clearly, there was a lot of sharing going on! Bear in mind that we ordered our food at about 8:45 and they close at 9 so its pretty impressive that everything was at least good and, in most cases, excellent. For dessert, we again asked for recommendations and the server said the bread pudding and the cobbler were both top choices and that most people sort of skip over them. I told him to surprise us, and he brought a mixed berry cobbler, which was indeed one of the best cobblers Ive had. Definitely recommend.

I have only been here on three occasions, and all three times were for a company Christmas party. With that in mind, the food was delicious, and the servers were extremely nice. The food can be a little on the high end, but it was good. For the event (about 15-20 people), the servers made sure we had drinks and food before we even knew we wanted them. We were up in the loft area in the back, and it was a perfect place for our size of group.I had the duck confit, and it was very good. I cant say Ive ever had it before, but the dish tasted very good, and the meat was tender. I also had a souffle (something else Ive never had before), and that was also delicious. I look forward to taking my wife there in the future for a nice night out!

March 8: Beautiful interior. The menu choices were extensive but maybe too ambitious for the kitchen on a Friday Night as several items were over cooked (we were a party of 8) and cold. Our waitstaff wasn’t interested in providing outstanding service or any service. Due to the acoustics she was asked to repeat the specials and replied that we should ask someone at our table. We also needed to ask other waitstaff for silverware and to open bottles of wine -Great wine selection.

This is a wonderful restaurant that provides a fine dining experience. Locals recommended it so we arrived for an early dinner without reservations. We had the best seafood dinner ever. So flavorful and beautifully presented. The service and ambiance were excellent. We topped off dinner with a hot lava cake and ice cream for dessert prepared fresh for us while we finished our main course. It was truly a memorable dining experience and I highly recommend it. An absolute central coast gem. Ive been coming here now for almost 10 years and Ive never had less than a five star experience. The seasonal specials are dynamic, their bartenders are expert mixologists, the wait staff is knowledge and attentive, you can tell they definitely arent there for a summer job. Even the vegetarian options are flavorful and considerate given this is a meat heavy town.

The wait staff is especially helpful and friendly w/o being intrusive.Our server was Keelie, and she captured the right mix of friendliness, information and discreet service. Possibly a promotion or raise for her?I had the Colorado rack of lamb which was totally wonderful. My dessert of chocolate mousse was great! and low-carb, too!My husband had the calves liver which he sure doesn’t get at home! Wide and unique menu choices, long list of specials to choose from, huge wine list, full bar, great service, this place has had it really going on since day 1 about 12 years ago. By far, one of the best, if not the best, eats in town. Nearby Courthouse Lawyers & Judges approved bar. You do not need to pass a Bar Exam to get in. The vintage upscale bar blows away the usual seedy bars downtown. This is a bar mainly frequented by local professionals who demand quality at reasonable prices. The Kobe Bar Burgers are some of the best on the Coast. For dinner, get the special platter with lamb, duck, & more. Old school fine dinning that is of the tourist strip. Service is always friendly & professional. The College crowd need not apply....definitely not a loud sports bar.

For a restaurant of this caliber, we expect better service and food. The dishes ranged from acceptably prepared (carpaccio, the halibut) to they should take it off the menu (calamari). And when a dish is left on the table less than half eaten, one of the servers should have asked if there was a problem. The menu is a mess - a mishmash of Italian, French, Chinese and Californian.

I was very disappointed. My husband and I went out for date night last night and had been looking forward to having dinner at Blue. I had been before for cocktails, but not dinner. Ambiance and food was amazing, however....I have never been treated so RUDELY by a server EVER!! We order a drink and an appetizer. The server came back and asked if we were ready to order, but did not tell us any specials or offer them. We ordered dinner and 2 mins later overheard him tell the table over from us a list of specials!! When he returned to refill our waters I asked him, so there were specials tonight? He replied, Yep. And I said, well, I guess it doesnt matter now. And he walked away without a word!!!! No, Im sorry. No, would you like to hear them. No nothing!!!!!!!!!! At the corner of Monterey and Osos Street in SLO, stands a impressive beautiful 2 story brick building built in 1894.Inside houses a wonderfully decorated, high style restaurant and bar.We stopped in for appetizers and cocktails before going to the Fremont Theater, located across the street. After being in awed from all the variety of drinks and local wines. We ordered 3 appetizers to share, and enjoy with our iced shaken Martinis.Delicious fried calamari with an spicy Sambal aioli arrived. Along with a beautiful array of artisan cheeses, sliced apple, and candied walnuts. Also an Charcuterie plate full of prosciutto di Parma, speck, chorizo, and Bressola sliced meats. A delightful server helped us through our happy hour before the show. We all want to come back, and try their wonderful sounding dinner choices in the future.Parking can be difficult, but there is an city parking structure one block up on Palm Street, across from the library.

Very poor service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I saw them dumping waste and garbage out back in a planter. The place looks nice it is only an illusion, steer clear!
