The food was amazing, the bulgogi is slightly on the sweeter side but i dont mind that at all! The environment is a bit loud but thats fair given that everyones gotta talk over the sizzling food. I wish i had taken pics of the food but i hilarously only grabbed these ones. Absolutely coming back here!

I absolutely adore this place. Its genuinely my favorite KBBQ place in San Diego. The only ones with good cuts of meat.The food/meats: the cut is great, the kimchi is fire and tastes like home. its not super fermented or sour. the corn cheese is delicious and sweet, melted just right. My favorite is the bulgogi, the thin sliced pork belly, the beef brisket, and a few others but anything exclusive on the premium menu is amazing too (beef tongue & finger rib). the food is just chefs kiss 10/10.The service: the servers are attentive and kind. they occasionally check in on you, not often as Id like but I understand its because theyre very busy. The vibe and environment is great all around, good music. If you go after 9pm, itll be happy hour which was 27.99 per person. For a KBBQ place, thats a steal!Overall, I cant recommend it enough. I always take my friends here when I can. 100/10

My favorite KBBQ in San Diego. The meat is such high quality and everything including sides is always fresh and amazing. Great service every time I’ve been. I also feels like the air is really fresh; some KBBQ places feel really stuffy and Smokey but it was well ventilated and nice.

The best korean bbq all you can eat restaurant. Im korean and quite picky about meat quantity but this one has a lot of options and all kinds are really high quality. Kimchi fried rice is highly recommended. Baby octopus is very fresh too.

Really great food, great happy hour deals after 9pm. I really like the bulgogi and prime rib. Service could’ve been way better because I had to constantly look for the waiters attention to ask for simple requests. Wished they checked on the table.

Good 2hr AYCE kbbq spot. Reasonable prices and a good selection of meat. The best part is the unlimited sides, they don’t skimp on the portion size and the selection is pretty good. Also after 9PM they have a very good deal on AYCE (27$ i think?) and 4$ draft beers. Menu is available on their website.

What an incredible experience!!! The staff were so attentive to our needs and made sure that we understood what to do to have the best foods and how to prepare everything. We especially would like to give a shout out to Terry who was the server that tended to our needs. We ordered the premium deal and the meats were just so tender and delicious. The four of us all agreed that the garlic beef was the best for flavor and tenderness. The side dish that we all enjoyed were the pickled radishes. So amazing! We were careful not to order more than we could eat as we didn’t want to be wasteful and gluttonous. Your allowed two hours at the table and we felt like that was plenty of time to have a fantastic meal. The entire experience was just awesome and we are already thinking of when we can make it back here. You will not be disappointed if you try this place. We think it was helpful to arrive right at 4pm when it opened. There was no line or wait to be seated. By the time we left at 6 there were people waiting to get a table.

It is a Korean barbecue. Its good to have a variety of menus, especially the makchang. The staff is good and the service is good. The parking lot is spacious, so you can park your car comfortably and use the restroom. There are many Asians, including Koreans.San Diego thinks its a good barbecue restaurant here.

Our go to AYCE Korean bbq. This Korean bbq has the best meat quality of any AYCE Korean bbq in San Diego, great side dishes as well. The only thing Im not a fan of is the cheese fondue, they need a good nacho cheese instead of the kraft shredded cheese.

The house was packed after 7p since things are fully reopened. My friend was able to make reservations for a table of 10. It was a fun experience and staff did a good job of bringing us what we needed. We did the regular all you can eat menu. For the pandemic, each person is being served their own bottle, whether water or soju, so pace yourself. Menus are accessed via a QR code.

Amazing food and quick and excellent service! I went with a party of five and had a fantastic time. Our pans were quickly changed as needed so the marinade that got stuck didnt burn the next wave of meat we put on. I definitely want to go again!

The best Korean bbq in San Diego in my opinion. The cheese corn is so delicious. We used to schedule reservations at 9pm, when happy hour begins, but they no longer allow these reservations! In any case, great value and great quality. The staff is super nice and so efficient. Love this place.

Everything about this place is top notch. The service, the meat quality, the prices, and ambience were all fantastic. It’s a great place to go on the weekend with a group of friends with throwback rap songs playing. Our server definitely passed the vibe check. I had a great experience here. They have great customer service. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. He even prepared a good amount of our food for us. The waiter that seated us allowed us to get the happy hour price after waiting a few minutes. Waiters frequently passed by to ask if we needed anything. I was using the scissors to move the meat since we only had a pair of tongs and a waiter immediately gave us another pair after noticing that. All the waiters were very attentive. The happy hour special was nice to say $4 per person off the normal $24. There was a small but good selection of meats on this menu. The unlimited sides such as the rice, rice paper, corn cheese, Kim chi, soup, egg and more were definitely icing on top of the cake. Happy hour also included reduced price on drinks. It is not the cheapest kbbq but it was very fair priced for the service and type of food.

We had a great time. Our server was very helpful and informative. She cooked and served some of the dishes and made sure we had plenty of drinks. The food was good, and the atmosphere was energetic and fun. Its a bit pricey as 3 of us spent about 125.00 so be ready for that part. Parking is tight so try to avoid busy times, because the lot is very small.

The food was excellent. It was my first time at a place like that. I didnt know that you had to cook your own food. But it was all you can eat. The corn cheese and kimchi fried rice are one of my favorites. Its better to look at the menu before ordering and fully knowing what you want. A busy little kbbq restaurant located in a not-so-busy strip mall. Food was ok. We came after 9 and it was happy hour. They offered happy hour after 9 special but the meat option was pretty limited. We ended up getting the premium option. Not a lot to choose from. Premium beef tasted average. Surprisingly, chicken BBQ was the best of all and it wasnt even the premium meat. We came on a weekday so there was no wait. I have been to many kbbq restaurants, and I would say that this is definitely not my favorite place. This place is currently my favorite Korean BBQ place in San Diego. So good I don’t even want to write this review on fears that the public will now and start coming here in swarms! Ahhhh! I’ll just say 2 things - the quality of meat is 💯 and that Kim Chi pancake is so so so so good.The first time I was there, my server was amazing. We’re no strangers to Korean BBQ, but he gave us some pro cooking tips that made the meat that much more enjoyable. I use to really enjoy Kogi before Covid; Menu has gone up and items have change [ like before you use to get all the little veggies and traditional side orders] now you have to order the items individually. Menu and hours changed in the past couple years. There is a limit on how many times you can order certain meats when you purchase from the lower tiers. Food tasted just okay but the staff were REALLY on top of grill changes and overall service. I liked that the side dishes were endless. Did not like that the rice paper was cut in half the size they usually are in other KBBQ places. Wasnt terribly crowded and parking was manageable compared to places on Convoy.

Great place for small parties, but watch if your going in a large group. The waitress and waiters will short change your orders and say you maxed out in dishes that you did not get. They need to have a better system in tracking the dishes each table section orders. They also need to communicate to the patron if the food that you request is no longer available, rather then having them wait for 20 minutes and not getting anything so they can order other meats!!!. 👎🏽👎🏽

The servers were extremely attentive, and they were very fast with bringing out your food to us. This is hands down the best kbbq place to go to in San Diego. Quality of meat and service is fantastic. This restaurant is quite small so there isnt a ton of seating. It can definitely get crowded on weekends so Id suggest coming earlier than peak dinner times if you want to skip the wait. Weekdays usually not much of a wait!

Great Korean BBQ place in the middle of San Diego! The quality of the meat here is excellent along with the sides. They are usually busy but if you have a larger party you can call in to reserve a table or two. I recommend trying the garlic finger meat, marinated short rib and black forest pork belly. In my opinion this place beats out other awesome Korean BBQ places such as Manna BBQ.

I’ve been to this kbbq place many times and I’ve noticed many concerns. I do like the fact that you’re seated immediately, however the staff takes a while to assist you. The last time I went, one of the staff served a table that literally just got there when we were patiently waiting. The servers always walk and check up on you, which is a plus, but always disregard refilling waters. It’s a little unorganized because someone different is always helping you and stuff you order gets forgotten or delayed. This is a great kbbq for the buck but attention to detail needs to worked on.

Only thing I wasnt satisfied with was that we had a reservation and a group of 15 people, and the restaurant honestly seemed a bit understaffed to deal with all of us, as well as all the other customers in the restaurant. I tried their soju cocktail once and it tasted pretty good! We were able to share it amongst 6 people. I would definitely get it again.Their meat choices have quite the selection and arent too bad in quality either! I usually stick to brisket, but their bulkgogi and pork belly are good too. One of the fastest KBBQ service I have ever seen. 3 servers for the entire restaurant. They bring food out quick, they wont intentionally ignore you, they clean tables within 3 minutes if the mess is huge. Solid service. Cost-effective dining. Great ambiance. Delicious and fresh meats. All of these are fair descriptions of the dining experience you can expect at Kogi BBQ. If you had the equivalent location situated in a major metro like NYC or San Francisco, you could expect to pay at least 50% more and would probably deal with longer wait times for seating. This unassuming spot located at the corner of a strip-mall complex off of Kearney Villa has always provided a solid dining experience for my fiancee and I, as well as any accompanying friends. This is one of the first places that I think to bring visitors coming in from out of town.Anyway, I highly recommend this place. And if you can wait until after 9 PM for their reverse happy hour of sorts, you can get an even better deal, with $19 for AYCE on a limited list of popular meats. My only recommendation... go for the meat, salad and soju cocktail, and dont get distracted by too many appealing side dishes!

Went there for my first time last week and Im letting you know now that that will also be my last time too. The service was good and fast overall, but the prices were not that good. For $21 you can only order a maximum of 2 orders of beef tounge. That is just stupid cause for $21 I can go to another Korean BBQ and get all the plates of beef tounge I want. On top of that the corn cheese was alright but you can tell that the corn is from a can cause why else would it be unlimited to order, the only reason why is cause its cheap to produce cause of low quality products. Came here on a Saturday night 8pm (day before Mothers Day) and waited only 10 minutes to get seated (!!!). A note about parking, the parking lot is really small and cramped in front of the restaurant, but there is additional parking to the side and back.We went for the $24 option, which includes a decent meat selection, but limits to 2 orders per person for 3 specific meats (beef tongue, galbi ribs, and boneless short ribs).We dont recommend the garlic finger ribs since it was mostly fat. Also, we were disappointed with the beef tongue because it was fairly tough, and not tender at all (unlike at other KBBQ places). Though there are side dishes you can order (which are unlimited), like white rice and kimchi fried rice (as well other items), the banchan side dishes (those little dishes of kimchi, potato, fish cake, etc.) was only kimchi and some potato salad at this place. My wife (who really enjoys korean food) was disappointed.Though the service was fast and friendly, the waiters forgot 1 or 2 items each time we ordered something (like our steamed egg during one of our orders, a salad on the next order, and the thin pork belly on the third order). It wasnt a big deal, since we just had to remind them on the next order (cant really blame the dudes since we know it can get hectic for them to serve so many tables). They were on point though doing grill changes (we didnt have to explicitly ask for grill changes here, unlike at other places).Lastly, the music was kind of loud and it was hard for any of us to hear what the waiters were saying (on one order, I had to have the waiter repeat himself 3 times), let alone what any of us were saying (we all had to raise our voices way above normal to talk to each other).

Let me start off by saying I have been going to Kogi bbq for years; since it opened. I love this spot, despite the parking. But ya know, the vibes here is always 100% thanks to DJ. Never got to eat. Turned away at the door because I came alone. Im a combat veteran and my family is in Missouri. I served in Korea as did my grandfather during the Korean war. I got hooked on the food during my tour there and thought Id try this place. Drove an hour in traffic just to be turned away. No a single person was in the restaurant yet. Felt great. The music was too loud with lyrics that werent censored for the most part and having to hear that dining with my toddlers wasnt comfortable enough...at least for that part. Oh Kogi, you hurt me so good.I think its important to note that I have absolutely zero control over my eating when I hit up a good AYCE spot. Sure, you say. Just like everyone else, you think.No. I take things way too far, and then farther still. Not a full belly, but the inability to move or even shift in my seat. The struggle that comes with meat-sweats and substantial pressure spreading all the way up to my chest plate.Thats where Kogi BBQ takes me. I generally come in after 9pm for their late-night discount and eat it all. I love the samgyupsul, love the prime rib, love the bulgogi, love the kimchi pancakes, love the steamed egg, love the fact that the waiters bring out samjang AND kochujang upon request.there is literally nothing bad to say about this place. Come after 9PM for their happy hour special (about 18 bucks), or come whenever for a guaranteed gut-busting korean bbq experience that has not yet failed to disappoint!

All you can eat Korean BBQ. Brisket seems to be the best of the meats you can get from the basic menu but pricier options exists. Everyone has to get the pricier option if one does though. Sides are great, love the stone pot egg and kimchi rice, kimchi pancake is also quite good as is the corn cheese.

The best Bulgogi, Kalbi, and Spicy Pork Ive had yet, the booths lend a nice little ambiance and privacy, yet the location remains raucous enough to know that youre at a Korean BBQ place. Although the Kim Chi was different from what Im used to, they do have great rice paper and some interesting appetizers, personally though the Kim Chi Pancake is where its at.

There is a place in Clairemont of similar style that I used to go to that was very popular.. it has been around for many years but recently the vibe in there has changed dramatically, even the quality of food has changed. I stopped going to this place that starts with a J and thank God Kogi is around because its more of what that place used to be like. This is what a KOREAN bbq vibe is supposed to be like, I love this place.
