1st Time trying Koi Express Hibachi & SushiThis review is only on their Sushi rolls.Rolls are on the small side ordered a Rainbow, Tiger, American, spicy tuna, spicy crab, and salmon avocado. Pick up was ok only slightly behind on the order. Staff was friendly restaurant seemed clean. Really wanted to like them but, sadly it was sub par sushi. Presentation food looks great but, sadly it falls short. Do not order the spicy tuna awful we threw it out. In conclusion small portions, sub par in taste/quality/texture. Also Pricey compared to other better spots in town. Really hate leaving a bad review but, got burned by people hyping this place.. Wont return much better offerings in town.

Amazing restaurant, friendly workers, great food! I always order the same, hibachi chicken and shrimp and crab rangoon, some of the best hibachi and crab rangoons i have ever ate, the yum yum sauce makes everything perfect and the shrimp and crab rangoons are just amazing! Prices are good in my opinion too, my wife and i love ordering from here. This place ALSO does Military Discount!

Im not in Vacaville often but when I am, i ALWAYS have to get koi express. It is so freaking tasty, fresh and made well. I always get a variation of their hibachi with steak, the yum yum sauce is the KEY to happiness. Their veggies are in a super yummy sauce. Their egg fried rice that comes with the hibachi is always perfect, never dry and is full of taste. I wish they opened in Sacramento, I would go once a week, its so amazing. The staff are always nice too! I would recommend everyone to go here!

This is the BEST sushi/Japanese cuisine I have experienced so far in Vacaville!!! I’ve been to a few other places in town and was not impressed, but this restaurant is incredible! The food is high quality, cooked and presented beautifully, the prices are excellent and they have the best customer service!! When you walk in you’re greeted by friendly, helpful staff. I’ve been here twice now and will absolutely come back again and again!!!

Steak and chicken plate was enough food for me. Steak was perfect. Chicken tasty,a little dry but not too bad. Sushi was crawfish and crab called the London roll. Deep fried and saused out. Ok nothing to write home about.

Koi has great food, this post isn’t about that but more so on the service. I placed an online order for a later time pick up (after I got off work). When I walk in tell them my name for the order, the older gentleman who usually takes orders asked if I ordered through door dash, I told him no and showed him how I ordered (which was through their main site) he then shows me his screen and it says cancelled. Proceeded to tell me a woman came in saying someone used her card for an order saying it was my order (I don’t even know how that is possible) so I pulled my card out and showed them that my last 4 numbers on the order match so that lady was wrong. They didn’t have my order obviously. The man offered to make my food and I declined because how unprofessional was it of them to not verify her card number to my order before canceling. They never tried to call me about the situation or anything. I like their food but after today they officially lost a customer.

Quality, good priced,fast food sushi! Great flavors, good service, and perfect portions. We came on Mother’s Day, and although they were busy, our order didn’t take very long. Great Teriyaki chicken for the kids too!

I came in for the first time and was welcomed by friendly and polite staff. I ordered two rolls for take out and both rolls were amazing! I work at a poke restaurant and I know good fish when I taste it and the quality of the salmon and hamachi were very good. Both rolls were filling, like not too full but not hungry enough to want more. Definitely a quality sushi restaurant and I do recommend stopping by.

By far one of my most favorite sushi places to go to, Las Vegas roll is hands down one of the best rolls I’ve ever had. The Hollywood roll is my second, and they are always so kind when ordering, I definitely recommend this place.

Weve had food from this place numerous times and it was great. However, this last order came with shrimp that was not deveined in both plates we ordered. Not trying to get food poisoning, so I could not eat it.

Thought I’d give this place a try. I’d have to agree with the other one star reviews left.Rating the sushi. It was awful! Ordered the American, Tiger and Philadelphia Roll.The rolls are very small, the quality of the fish wasn’t good, tasted old. I will not be returning. Hoping to find a legitimately good 5 star sushi place around here.

Personally one of my favorite sushi spots, I’m not really a big fan of fish or sushi in general but I love the food here so much I’ll eat it anytime. The prices are reasonable too which makes it easier to enjoy their delicious foods. The staff is also very friendly and listens to what I need.

Honestly, highly dissatisfied and disappointed with the lack of quality in this food. Im confused at the 4.8 rating this restaurant has because the food doesnt match the rating what so ever. Literally some of the worst sushi Ive ever had. The rice looked old. Was mushy and glossy. Nothing seemed fresh. Creamy tuna filling. Imitation crab. Etc. The hibachi combo was only decent once you drowned it in the sauce they provide you to help give the food some life. I guess you get what you pay for. I payed $54 + a tip. Maybe I shouldve ate the food first and gave them a verbal tip instead. Wont be back.

The sushi rolls were very fishy, 80 dollars worth of money down the drain. We also ordered a chicken bento box and the chicken was rubbery and the taste was dreadful. This place won’t be in business long, but while they are don’t spend your money here.

Im really surprised by the high rating. The special sushi is large, clunky, and poor flavors. The tempura was old like the sushi was made early in the day. We tried the Las Vegas, American, Tiger, spicy salmon, Philadelphia, and some salmon and tune shishimi. The best we had were the $5 rolls but still, there was too much cream cheese. We had a lot left over because it was just unpleasant to eat, I didnt like it at all. 2 stars because its Vacaville so my expectations shouldnt have been high to start.

There is no other best place to eat in Vacaville. They’re super nice to everyone regardless of who you are or come from. I do to go food a lot, and I can assure you this place is the cleanest restaurant I have seen in Vacaville. If you want to be appropriated for your $$ and enjoy the best meal, Koi express is the place.

Koi is my absolute favorite sushi/hibachi place. Koi is my go-to for lunch when I’m at work. It’s very affordable and the food is of super high quality. I have really liked everything I have ever ordered from here. The staff is also extremely welcoming and friendly! I would 100% recommend Koi to anyone.
