Grabbed a quick lunch here and the koja was delicious - I got the galbi short rib one. The rice patties were crunchy on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside. A little more veg or pickle would have been nice as it was basically just galbi and rice. But overall really tasty rice burger

The fries were good, but their “chicken sandwich burger” was bad. Tasted like old grease and the chicken was pink. Wouldn’t recommend, it was 0 stars for me. The fries were 5/5.

Quick service! Friendly staff! Great flavors!This was my first time here and I️ didn’t know what to expect. They have a bunch of awards on their door and so I️ knew we had to take a look.The menu looks delicious and the food did not disappoint. I️ ordered KoJa short rib and braised pork short rib with their signature fries. Everything packed a yummy punch of flavors. If you want to try Korean but don’t want to be taken back by the new flavors then come here!The only thing I️ would recommend is that you ask your fries to come out fresh. The toppings were hot but the fries underneath seemed a bit cold.Non the less this was a great lunch stop :)

Grabbed lunch, and got the BBQ chicken KoJa sandwhich, rice patties actually worked very well! The chicken itself was so delicious!!! Price is a bit high for what it is, but Telegraph has more expensive, and this little Sando hit the spot! Not necessarily gonna be a regular, but will be back for sure!👍

The kamazaki fries are delicious but man those chicken tacos are a very poor excuse for a taco. And I’m so glad that the person I had lunch with actually ordered the fries because I ordered a taco one day, and the most disappointing part was the young lady who took my order. She was the rudest person I had encountered in SF. Thankfully I came back the next day and the service was awesome and so were those delicious fries!

A freaking amazing, I had no earthy clue on what to try and the wonderful woman behind the counter quizzed me on my likes and dislikes and she quickly discovered wings that are sweet and spicy were so on point, and Im sorry for no pictures because I ate them like they were going to run from the box, along with the beef Koja and the only down side was I only ordered one, so in all fairness when I touchdown in Berkeley again thats my first stop.

Fast service. I ordered a braised pork bowl, a short rib bowl, and a beef koja. All tasted very delicious. I personally prefer getting a bowl than the koja “rice-sandwich”because it has more veggies on the side and more meat (maybe). My family was impressed and my mom has officially become a fan here. I will definitely come back in the future!

Very dissatisfied. We were there because it was listed as having gluten free items on the menu. My daughter has Celiac so we take this very seriously. It was not until after we had ordered and paid for lunch that the staff advised us that the items were actually not safe and recommend we eat elsewhere.I appreciate the staffs honesty, but find it frustrating that a restaurant would advertise itself as having gluten free options that are not actually gluten free.

Have the owners ever tasted their own food? Some of the food items sounds amazing in theory but tastes disgusting in practice. Their coconut braised pork was an absolute abomination The flavors did not go together at all. The strawberry mango mint lemonade, was extremely sweet and had a medicinal aftertaste.

How do I say this... the place was really nice and the food was served quick, but it was too spicy in my opinion. I couldnt take more than 2 bites without having to drink something. It reached a point in which I couldnt really taste anything because of the spice, which is a shame since the food was pretty good.I guess its just not for those who cant take spicy stuff.EDIT: so I decided to give it another try, but this time I asked for the spicy sauce to be put on the side. Now that I could actually taste the food, I can say that it is pretty good. Might not be the best thing I ever tasted and still dont think that the price is justified, but its good enough that Ill try it again in the future.

I lucked up on this Gem a few years ago, when it was serving out the food truck. Its safe to say this is by far my favorite comfort meal. If you havent done anything great in life, once you eat here youll think you have lol. No seriously reasonable prices, amazing flavors, and a full tummy.

The Koja beef burger is amazing. Its not very big, but the rice bun and beef just go so well together. The burgers cost $7-8 depending on the meat you choose. It can get fairly crowded during busy times.

Kamikaze criss-cut fried loaded with ginger, hot sauce, and beef, along with a KoJa Chicken pineapple burger made with homemade RICE patties! Thats right - these crips cakes were mouth watering and moist. I did get a drink with my meal price but still it was a bit pricey. Was it worth every penny? Yes. Would I go back? Yes. Would I recommend it for others? Yes. Highly.

There are very few fusion fast food places that actually work. This place is one of them. Their KoJa (rice buns/bread) is great replacement for traditional sandwich breads. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Both their Beef KoJa and Teriyaki Zen Koja were awesome. Their kamikaze fries were also good. I am glad they had a veg option for that. Overall, good food for the price.

! UNDERCOOKED CHICKEN !To begin with, the girl working at the front had an attitude AND it was her first day there. She was rude and short over the phone and didn’t seem to know what she was doing. When I got my food, the chicken was undercooked on my Chicken koja and I brushed it off. But the chicken was also undercooked on my fries as well….when I take it back to restaurant the chef opens a small piece of chicken and tries to tell me the food isnt undercooked. When I told him to eat it and try it he refused to do it and had an attitude with me. Then when I wanted a refund the girl in the front couldn’t give me one because the manager WASNT IN THE PREMISES. Why do you have two people in the restaurant and leave someone there alone on their FIRST DAY. So I couldn’t get a refund until the next day over the phone. Instead of taking accountability for not being around, the manager tries to blame the girl for not leaving him a note for any information on my order. Ultimately, I got my refund on my food. But if you want undercooked food feel free to come by 👍🏽

Terrible service. Ordered through Uber Eats and didn’t give me a complete order. Asked for them to send me the missing food I paid for; said they would have it sent out and never did. Followed up with them and they said the food was left sitting there and that I could “come pick it up myself”. Id love to say I enjoyed my meal here, but although the idea sounds amazing, the execution was... left with lots of disappointment. I had the Kamakazi fries and dragon balls and both sounded amazing on the menu. The criss-cross fries were rather limp, especially under the beef and sauce which made the small dish feel extra heavy. The dragon balls were tempting, but even with one 3 balls per order, I was unable to finish this part of my meal. The odd combination of meat and rice and unknown substances in the dragon balls made them inedible. Will not be coming back soon. Maybe the trucks are better to try than this sit-down location.

I adore Koja! I love rice so much that I could eat it any time of the day and with anything. It easily goes with every dish. I mean, I love bread, but rice is just...it’s just amazing. I love Koja because their rice bowls are just the best and now when I’m in college and away from my rice cooker, it is the only chance I get for getting decently cooked rice. I like the rice best with chicken, lettuce and kimchi, all together in a bowl - all made to absolute perfection and at a fair price for such an amazing meal. Maybe it’s the love for rice talking, but I love it here! Also, make sure you try waffle fries.

This was my second time coming to the Koja Restaurant out in Berkeley and again it did not disappoint me!Location:Its right on telegraph so the location is perfect, if youre really into the Urban life. I love it down there, its never any parking spaces, but there is a nearby parking garage!Restaurant:The Koja is always packed, never really any seating due to all of the CAL students in the area, if youre lucky enough to get you seat youll be able to enjoy your food comfortably. The workers their are really nice, and have great people skills when dealing with so many people wanting so many things.Food:The Beef Koja is the best thing Ive tasted!
