My husband and I visited this place for dinner. I had the Ramen with seafood and lime broth. The best ever so YUMMY!😋🍜 My husband had two excellent sushi rolls! 🍣.. service is really good, and nice environment..Come stop by for dinner! And dont forget, ask for Ramen with seafood and lime broth. Highly recommended. Its so good!

5 out 5, this is a highly recommended spot to go to, ideal for all situations with family, friends, or a date. The Environment is amazing the staff is very friendly but the most important part is the food. It is top-of-the-line Japanese food it tastes amazing. If you ever wanted to go try Japanese food this is the place for you and the price is great. Honestly a small family of 4 could eat for 60 to 70 because of the portion of food it was well worth it and easy. On my favorite spots to eat at.

Amazing place to eat! Every time my mom and I eat here, we always choose to dine in because we love it so much. The atmosphere is consistently perfect – the music, the service, the guy there is super friendly, theyre so nice and sweet which makes the experience more excellent. The food is also delicious! We appreciate how close it is to home aswell, as most places like this are farther away. Also the interior design is super cozy and nice. Overall, a very great place to eat 💗.

Its a small mom and pop Japanese restaurant with limited seating. It definitely shows with the bowl of ramen I ordered but somehow the karaage (fried chicken) punched way above its weight it surprised me. The fried shrimp tempura however, is back to homemade quality. Personally I had expected more for the ramen, but as a cozy place for happy hour and some food on the side its perfect.

This place is amazing!! The Umami tonkatsu ramen was delicious, the broth is not heavy but very tasty! I love this type of ramen, and the eggs and chashu are great too!We also ordered the orange lemon roll with lemon mayo sauce (super interesting and yummy) and takoyaki (so good!!). The owner seems to be from Japan so it makes sense the food is wonderful and quite authentic while adapting to the local taste. Hes super kind and friendly :)

Yummy Ramen! I ordered the spicy Tonkotsu Ramen hard noodles and it was delicious! Slurping the broth was divine.I enjoyed the ramen so much because the broth was fatty and spicey at the same time.I also had a few sushi rolls but forgot what I ordered.Service was excellent and the part owner is very nice.I hope to return and would highly recommend Kokage.

Excellent Ramen, fresh sushi. The staff and owner are so nice, very attentive, great service. Water glass kept full. Ramen noodles are bouncy and perfect. The owner said they are closed on Mondays and are open for dinner service for now, next year will do lunch as well. So happy there is a quality ramen spot close to home!

What a find!!! Who knew such a high quality, yet inexpensive Japanese restaurant existed in this shopping center??!!This place had been bookmarked since they opened to rave reviews. Yet, with my own self-isolation in place, I figured now would be a good time to order for delivery.The restaurant specializes in ramen and sushi, though there are many other items on the menu. I placed my order planning for four meals, and sure enough, not only was the quality excellent, but the food was perfectly and gorgeously presented, in the to go containers, just as one would expect in a Tokyo restaurant.I ordered: Salmon skin roll, Vista roll w eel, Seaweed salad, Chicken Korage (Japanese fried chicken), Teriyaki Chicken, and a vegetable-based noodle dish called Yakisoba with the addition supplement of chicken (NOTE: this is not a regular menu item). I also ordered the special Nigori Sake.Though I live 35 minutes south of the restaurant, the hot dishes arrived still warm, and did not require any reheating. With all the condiments provided, we were able to indulge in our sushi and Japanese delicacies without delay. All delicious, and most reasonably priced!!!We so enjoyed our meals and will look forward to another order in the near future!!

I have a 10 year old who was in the mood for sushi. She never had sushi before. So, why not. The gentlemen who served us was very on top of it even though he seemed to be the only one working the front. He kept or waters filled and was very prompt with his service. Five stars for that. So we shared a dragon roll and a philadelphia tempura roll. I chose these because other options had imitation crab meat which... Well, I will hold out for the real deal for that option. They did not provide any extras in the side, such as wassabi, or ginger. They may have had it, but it wasnt included. Prices were comparable to other Ramen bistros.All in all She enjoyed her first experience and I enjoy the Crunchy Dragon roll.

This place is great! Ive been wanting to try it for a while now and it was even better than I had hoped. Sure, is not going to be a fancy dine-in experience, but you shouldnt go here for the ambience--the food is SO good. I like all the funky umami dishes like takoyaki and tres amigos, but even the white gold ramen, which sounded like it might be boring, was packed with flavor. For sushi, its mostly rolls, but lots of other dishes besides the rolls and ramen. Ill be back!

Broth is always full-bodied and delicious— unless you get one of the broth-less items, which are _still_ delicous! Eggs are well-seasoned with gooey yolks. Juicy and flavorful karaage alone is worth a visit.This is probably the best ramen place in North County since MENMA Oceanside closed.

I love a good hole in the wall Japanese joint. This wasnt one of them. The service was very slow though it was (we waited 20 minutes to have our order taken) and we had to ask for obvious things like extra plates for sushi. The food was fine. Nothing exciting and definitely overpriced. The onion in our mixed tempura plate was practically raw. Our table ordered a pretty wide variety of food and found it all mediocre.Their sushi menu is extremely limited with very few sushi roll options and are just not that good. The ramen broth was fine, but lacked the depth of really good ramen. The tempura was undercooked.A side note, although many restaurants located next to a boba joint have no problem with you bringing your boba in with you, this restaurant will tell you to put your boba in the car. There is no signage saying no outside food or drinks anywhere in the restaurant and its pretty typical of ramen and sushi places to allow boba in.

No offense to the waitress we had; she was sweet and friendly.I don’t know what the problem was tonight; I’ve been to over 300+ Ramen Shops in Japan and what I had was the poorest excuse for Ramen. The chicken teriyaki bowl was old and heated in a microwave, and the broth from the Ramen was old and smelled putrid, so sour I was about to vomit after Eating two bites. We won’t be returning; the sushi was a solid 5/10; I wish this place could have been better…I don’t know what water they used with the Ramen but it smell so putrid as if they scraped it from the toilet and someone died in it…..never again‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ OVERPRICED THIS WOULD NEVER MAKE IT ONE DAY IN JAPAN,IVE HAD BETTER AT LAWSON AND FAMILY MART‼️‼️‼️

Delicious and well priced, we arrived too early for the late night happy hour but the items and drinks were all reasonably priced, and the takoyaki was absolutely tasty. Still battery and gooey in the middle while being crisp on the outside. Well made. We were stuffed between the umami ramen bowls and Sushi rolls. Was delightful. Only wished that I was more hungry there was much more more I wished to order 😂

Tried to place an order at 10:10They denied me because, Last call is at 10pm. Their hours on google say they close at 10:30 which is very misleading. They made me waste my gas in coming here. Are here tonight had the Pacific Roll and the Salmon CrumchThe rolls was the worst I ever had the Salmon Crunch was equally bad. Saw the roach walking towards the window. The kitchen area.was very filthy The happy hour says draft beer is.$3.50 he.charged $4.20 . He fixed it though. Food sucked worst $53 I ever spent on sushi. Supermarket sushi is better than that by far. When I brought the overcharge, I walked up saw the kitchen and work station and it was filthy. The night did not start yet. Was craving Ramen for a few days. After reading the great reviews I decided to try this place since its close to home. The service was great and the waitress, Kumi, was extremely friendly. That being said, it feels as though we paid a pretty penny for overpriced mall food. The ramen selection was small,and the soup itself was very bland. Any additions to attempt to get more flavor in there were priced separately. The sushi quality could only be compared to what Ive gotten at a local grocer. It was dry and flavorless at $12 bucks a roll. Pretty bummed and will keep looking 😕.

Decided to try this locally owned and operated business last night and I was pleasantly surprised! The ramen 🍜 was delicious for the price point. The menu offered many options and the Happy Hour prices were an added bonus.The only reason for not a full 5 ⭐ is due to the fact that the service was a little slow I recommend going there when you are not in a rush or have unruly children.

Honestly didnt expect the level of service and quality food that I got here. With the location, I didnt expect such a cozy little spot, but the vibe is really mellow. Made for a great impromptu Wednesday date night choice.Staff super attentive. It wasnt very busy to begin with, but having someone open the door for us was really endearing. The music was upbeat but mellow jazz, no vocals. Just an easy atmosphere.The menu looked like something of a lower caliber place, because I was stoked when the food actually arrived. Service was good but the food was overall alright. The Vista roll was really good and the gyoza was decent. But the karage was bland and rubbery. And even more unfortunately the Spicy Tonkatsu was not very good. It lacked flavor and seemed somewhat unseasoned. I had to put soy sauce in it to make it better. Furthermore, the ramen had a like minty flavor that I want really a fan of. Overall, my experience was alright; hence the 3 stars.

Bomb! The food was interesting and delicious...they had an inventive take on jalapeno poppers that blew me away... Tempura jalapenos filled with spicy tuna and cream cheese...also the pizza roll was great...a baked Salmon and cream cheese blend rolled with rice...it was warm...the Vista roll and dragon roll were alright...the waitress was super nice...made my day... The only problem was I ordered hot tea but they were out? Or something they gave me unsweetened cold green tea instead and it was not good... everything else was awesome...

Wow—AMAZING ramen! Hands-down the best ramen place in North County, and we have tried a bunch! Wonderful staff, great service, and ramen that is just so good I am struggling to find words to describe it. Great for both takeout (nice containers that don’t leak) or dine in (good ambience, cute interior decorating). Also the chicken cha-shu is seriously delicious! We’ve been coming here for over a year and even through the pandemic the quality of the food and service has been top-notch. Love everything about this place and hope to be coming back for many years to come!

It is one of those places that takes forever but that’s just to give a warning, not something you can really hold against a place. The umami ramen is the best ramen I’ve ever had. Also if you’re looking for proper pickled eggs, this is the right place. Most just hard boil them but this place actually soft boils and pickles them. The gyoza is pretty dope too. My wife was debating getting it and just had to after hearing the table next to us give off a loud crunch.

A Hidden Gem.Ive been living in this area for 10 years and I never thought to try this restaurant.Well,, I tried it for the first time today and they blew my mind!!!Now I understand all those Youtubers when they talk about Umami Flavor.... I Found It Here!!!!We ordered the Umami Tonkotsu (forgot to take a picture of it and I didnt wanna take a picture of the empty dish) and Wow... full of flavor. every thing was perfect. the marinated egg, the Cha Shu, the broth, the Ramen... my daughter through a tantrum after finishing her portion because she wanted more and the plate was empty.We also ordered the Vista Roll, California, and Philadelphia Roll.. i loved the flavor and texture of the Vista Roll and i loved the high quality of the cali and phily rolles (lets be honest, it is really hard to impress now with those two rolls).The price is really on the spot (just perfect) to the point I think it is the same as before COVID.if you are still reading,,,, what are you waiting for???

Finally found a legit ramen place in North County! The broth, eggs and cha siu is almost as good as Ulta Ramen in San Diego and that says a lot. And the price is reasonable! Sushi is good but a bit small for the price. $7 for an avocado 🥑 roll which I can easily get for $4 elsewhere. But I will return for the ramen.

I don’t even have the words to describe this place, my gf and I came here and ordered the spicy miso ramen, noodles were springy, but the broth tasted like hot dog water. Soy sauce and hot chili oil provided were not enough to give it life. The sushi was basic and the salmon had a weird aftertaste along with what looked like Rice Krispies cereal on top. Takoyaki wasn’t crispy but soggy. Had a weird almost katsu sauce on top that did not mix well, not worth price felt sick after eating

We cruised in here kind of late on friday for valentines day, and luckily they had a table open for us. We live in close proximity and have been hoping that we could find a good ramen spot near us so that we dont have to drive all the way down to Miramar where all the authentic sushi and ramen spots seem to congregate. And boy were we surprised!!! Id like to say first that Ive tried all the best ramen spots in San diego, and this place is absolutely capable of competing with them in both their flavor, execution, and presentation. Their Tonkatsu broth is superb, and the noodles are thin and perfectly sliced. The Pork Chashu melts in your mouth and the ramen egg is brined perfectly. Their portions are also just right.The service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is also comfortable and trendy. We also ordered the Takoyaki, and they also were incredibly delicious! My only hope/word of advice is for them is to expand their ramen menu to include more variations! I think if this resturaunt starts to specialize and focus their menu on more types of ramen, they will be extremely successful!

What youll notice first is that this little joint is just that, little. But what they lack in size, they make up for flavor. The tonkatsu ramen is great and dont even get me started on their ramen egg.These millennials (myself included) have this fixation about avocado toast. Well MOVE TF over, cause Kokage is bringing the heat with panko avocado. This little appetizer will make your morning toast, well toast.All in all, its pretty new and I can only imagine later on once they add a couple things here and there, they will be a highly rated ramen place in SD.

Mom and pop ramen shop. This is the best ramen you will find north of Mira Mesa. Solid tonkatsu broth, the pork is super tender with a perfect sear, great flavor. The ramen egg is marinated and the yolk is done to perfection. It adds a velvety texture to the broth. Goyza were house made and crisp even after a trip home (takeout). Speaking of takeout, this ramen is packaged to travel. Unlike other north county ramen spots, the noodles are packaged separately from the broth. Door dash or grub hub better get on this place! Seriously solid.
