The food here is amazing but I wish they would not pre-judge. I say this because the waiter acted like I had never eaten Korean before and talked to me like I was naive of the choices although I been here many times before. However the food is good and will always return.
This place is just great! The staff are so friendly and accommodating to us, and the place has a fun mix of traditional and modern asthetic. The true highlight though, is of course the food. Always fresh and sooo delicious. Definitely worth the price!
I love this place. I lived in South Korea for many years and this place ticks all the boxes. The food is amazing, authentic, and has large portion sizes. The staff are so nice. The venue is large so perfect for just two persons or a large family gathering.
The kimbap here is irresistible with fresh ingredients. Bulgogi was tender and plentiful + the variety of banchans (side dishes) are fantastic. My friend enjoyed the ddukbokki (spicy rice cake) too. I called ahead and they had my order ready to go on time. Will come back for more.
I’ve tried many korean restaurants around the area and this is by far my favourite, hands down. The staff(owner maybe) is really friendly, always greeting everyone with a genuine smile. The food quality is great, portions are substantial, and prices are reasonable. Favourite dishes got to be kimchi jigae and spicy pork! Keep it up!
Our server (probably the owner) was the sweetest lady. She made recommendations and checked on us repeatedly. She even congratulated us on being such great eaters. The food was excellent. Great portion sizes. If we didnt all live out of state, wed be back.
Nice place for hot pot. Often visit between lunch and dinner hours while its quite. There is a dance floor and karaoke setup. Also looks like they host bus tour group.

Ordered DolSot Beef Bi bimbap, (regular) Beef bibimbap, and beef bulgolgi. Simply phenomenal. Best Korean food I’ve had across the states and across a few other countries. Never been to Korea but if you want good Korean food, this is it

First time here and I got to say the service was bad. The food was great but the waitress gave me and my family really really bad service. Meaning while we was ordering our food she told us that why we ordering so much food and didnt let us finish ordering our food. When we told her can we add more she straight up said no. As she keep serving us so kept harassing my family made us feel uncomfortable and didnt feel welcomed so we just left. I gotta say this that I will never come back here again
45 minutes after taking our order we are still waiting for our food: tempura shrimp, miso soup and a noodle dish. Seriously, how long can that take. Tea is flavorless and side dishes unimaginative. Upon arrival, the miso soup is tepid, the broth flavorless, with too many green onions ànd tofu that is old and not tender. Our appetizer, shrimp tempura, has still not arrived. I guess they had to take a boat into the bay and cast a net. Our Korean bowl is a mixture of too hot and stone cold, with white rice stuck to the bottom of the crock potWould you eat here?
First I want to say that the staff is AMAZING and you automatically feel welcomed. The food is good, I got wonton ramen and I really enjoyed my meal.

Mains came out steaming hot and delicious, banchan (included) all had fantastic flavor and just the right amount of crunch, so you know everything was fresh. Our host was really nice and praised us for eating good lol. Definitely a great spot for Korean food.

Stopped by this restuarant on our family vacation. Every dish we ordered was perfect and delicious. The place was clean and staff was friendly. Highly recommended and the best Korean food in town! We all left with full bellies.
Good quality food, more expensive than other Asian restaurants
Slow service, overwhelmed staff. Food was served hot but not all dishes arrived at the same time. Seafood tofu soup was ok but did not contain much seafood, just a few pieces of squid and a couple of mussels. Jjamppong was not great: store-bought spaghetti noodles and a gritty but flavorful soup broth. Most dishes were ridiculously overpriced.
Visiting Seaside and I was so surprised by this place. Best Korean food Ive had in a very long time. Especially compared to any of the options in my home county (which makes me depressed because Ill need to drive 4 hours if I ever want to go here again). Fast service, despite how busy it was. Delicious food. Reasonable prices. Ill definitely be back.

Best Korean Food for me since 2000s! Ive had my first Bulgogi bento box here since early 2000s and up until now I still do! You cant beat flavor and the service! Let alone price! They treat u like family! Love this place!
The Gal Bi dinner box was amazing! The ribs were absolutely outstanding! The rice was perfect and the salad was crisp. I was a little disappointed by the tempura though. I will definitely be going back soon! 감사합니다!!

Hunting around for good Tofu Soup in the Monterey Bay are and was happy to find this spot. Of the places I have tried this is the best for tofu soup.
Authentic Korean food, reasonably priced. Offers a nice variety of dishes which is hard to do in a small town.Not the most cozy atmosphere. Place is geared towards accommodating large parties (typical Korean setup) and families.Definitely a go-to spot if youre craving Korean.

Service: zero stars. One of the patrons went into the kitchen to call the owner out to attend us when we waited in the hall for a good 5 minutes. I had to chase the owner down to get us water with ice. Mind you, the place had only 2 tables with customers when we got there.Food: minus three stars. Probably one of the worst Korean restaurants I have ever eaten in. I visited over 1,000 Korean restaurants worldwide to include many in South Korea, and can’t quite remember this bad taste experience after one from L.A. last year. Salty, tasteless, uncooked, not fresh, under and over seasoned in some side dishes and the list goes on. I hate wasting food and I normally try to eat everything that is on the table even if I am full, but I had to let a lot of their food go wasted.Bottom line: I would never go back even if it is for free!
I visited earlier today, 19 May 2019.Bottom line: Head over to Marina for better service and cheaper prices. My waitress was dismissive and couldnt answer basic questions about the menu. The complementary side dishes every other Korean restaurant brings you for free will cost $6.50 here (after you order them). The 7 piece Goon Man Du? $7.50. The 12-oz Coke? $3.00. If youre on the fence about checking this place out, save yourself some trouble.
We enjoyed the food from this place. So authentic and delicious. Side dishes were on point. This will be our go to Korean restaurant whenever we visit Monterey.

The food here is so tasty and in great portions. The cashier was really polite and greeted my girlfriend and I in a friendly manner. I think I found a new favorite spot to eat at!!!
Decent food for a decent price. Nothing special, but you can satisfy your craving for Korean food. Their soup was a good choice for a rainy day in December. It also comes with all of the typical sides, which was plenty of food for one person.
Complimentary ban chan and hot tea came with the order. There is lunch special from Monday to Saturday. Came on a Saturday a week after Memorial Day for a lunch. Ordered few items from the lunch special(bbq pork, bibimbap, and teriyaki chicken, all in bento box) and a dish of fried calamari super crunchy to my kids liking. It wasnt crowded but the few people that were there seems to be regular customers. Been here few times in the past 20years.

Awesome food! And I lived in Korea for a 3 years. We had the samgyupsal and the bulgogi. It was all really delicious. Wasnt many people in there and there is a Korean grocery store next to it. Best Korea around this area

I love this place, its rarely busy and the bento boxes are amazing and very inexpensivr. The staff are normally the same ladies and they have always been nice to us.We like the korean rib bento box and the bulgogi beef bento box.Dont forget the side dishes!
Best Korean food, and your next stop for getting hot soups in cold days. Every single time that my wife wants us to go there, I understand that either she thinks shes getting a cold or simply she wants something warm and delicious to end a long day.

Ive been a regular customer at this restaurant for over 30 years and they havent disappointed me yet. The service and food are always on point, and I have a great relationship with the staff there.
Orient Express has been open for 17 years at least. I love the beef Bulgogi, chicken Bulgogi (dak gu yi), and stir-fried squid. The pan chan appetizers appeal to all five tastes. The sticky rice is easy to pick up with chopsticks. Its supposed to be sticky. The barley tea is nice, but I like the Hite beer, too. The restaurant is large, so seating is usually not a problem.
One of my favorite places in Seaside. The food is always prepared perfectly. I have never had a bad experience here. Try the spicy BBQ pork.
The name is misleading. You see orient and you think Chinese. But this place is Korean, has great food, and looks like a great place to have a Kareoke party.

Even though I visited on a package tour, I didnt pay to eat food like this. The fish and meat were dry and there was no taste of seasoning at all. I had leftovers from my meal and ate ramen at the hotel.
Seolleongtang for breakfast is delicious. Kimchi and Kkakdugi are also good.
I visited this place last January. I stopped by because I wanted to eat Korean food during my trip, and the stew was really good, and the side dishes tasted like I had eaten in the Korean countryside. The owner was kind and refilled all the side dishes. Acorn jelly was not the main dish, but the soy sauce tasted like the countryside my mother used to make, so I liked it. He was also kind to the children. Even though we went there during our trip, the children say lets go here to eat Korean food. The portion was generous and the price wasnt too expensive.
I visited here on a business trip from Korea and the food was delicious. Please note that the price per person is around $12. If you miss Korean food, this restaurant is recommended.

2023-10-16 00:32:01Second time I’ve been here both received poor service and food that is not from a typical authentic Korean restaurant. Ordered Bulkogi with Ssam and the Ssam included iceberg lettuce which is not what real Korean dishes include. I explained to the owner that all othe Korean restaurants don’t serve iceberg lettuce it should contain red leaf lettuce. He told me I was wrong lol I’m Korean and been to thousands of Korean restaurants and not one of them served iceberg lettuce. They also didn’t give us jalapeño, fresh garlic, and dweng jong. I had to ask for this as well. A couple months later I went in to order just a cup of Kimchi and was given a table spoon full of Kimchi in a small clear container and was charged 5.49. I explained to them they usually give me a cup and not a small side dish container. They told me it was going to be 20 dollars I said fine. They charged me 16.39 more so I gave hem 16.40 and the lady shut the cash register without giving me my penny lol. They came back with the cup of Kimchi that was not filled to the top. They absolutely lost me as a customer. I live in Monterey and this is the closest restaurant to me but now will make the drive to Marina where they have REAL AUTHENTIC KOREAN RESTAURANTS and the service is excellent!

And to top it off, the food-just excellent w flavors to bring back memories of my childhood back in Korea. Secondly, ordered got messed up and missing the side dishes that come with the dinner and had to send my kid to retrieve the part of the missing order. Lastly, very stingy with side dishes. Much tastier Korean food in Marina and San Jose. Wont be eating food from here again.

2023-08-15 00:15:48The dol sot (stone pot rice) items are very delicious! The hot stone pot with some oils added creates the best crispy rice I’ve ever had. The kimchi jun (pancake) is also very crispy, tasty, and delicious! Great food and service!
