This place is amazing! I think about it often when Im not in the Bay and Im hungry. The meat is just so delicious and cooked to perfection. Theres a lot of tasty sides, good beer, and great service. It feels very local and has a great vibe. If youre in the area, its worth a visit. We always come up from San Jose for dinner!

Star of the meal was the pan fried seafood pancake with green onions. It was loaded with shrimp, squid, bell peppers and a light soy sauce for dipping. Cold noodles were light and refreshing. Broth was a bit sweet but added a little vinegar for balance. Glass potato starch noodles were chewy and thin. Very generous with the side dishes when we asked for refills. Only 4 side dishes but they were all fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. 2 gender restrooms.

Food is descent, the bbq is little on the sweet side. Korea bbq is a have service oriented meal. Theres lot of work for waitress/ waiter to do but the price they charge for Korean ribs, servers get pretty good 20% tip.The problem is theres only 2 people working at lunch time so its hard to get a good service. The people who work there trys hard but theres just not enough workers to get you food or 반찬 in time. My wifes noodles came out so late she just canceled it.Empty 반찬 dishes, late food arrival, high prices.

Was here on saturday night with a pretty slow day. The service was topnotch with good atmosphere. BUT the food prices are just stupidly ridiculous for the serving size they provide for wood bbq. I’m sure it’s more expensive due to the nature of bbq grill but come on…Got 2 slices of pork belly for $42. 2 SLICESGot 4-5 thin slices of short ribs for $60. Fricking 60 for few bites.Never again. not worth at all

Meat is great. We also really like the rare beef bibimbap. They grill the meat for you on the table which is great. Love the way they cook pork belly. Galbi and beef tongue are yummy too. I think I will come back to try out other dishes on the menu :)

Delicious! The Korean barbecue here is amazing. We order B1 and B2 on their meat menu. Which are two different versions of Kalbi. Our favorite was B2 which is Kalbi marinated in sesame oil. This meat was absolutely delicious. 10 outta 10 would put this meat in my mouth again 😜Their kalbi quality is far better than most other Korean BBQ places out there. This is not all you can eat. You order by the meat.They prepare the dishes for you and cook the meat in front of you. The nice thing about this place is that the BBQ is using wood charcoal. They have the permit for this indoors because they have been around for many decades and are grandfathered into their permit. Making it a rare experience!When you order the meats you also get a nice Korean soup, as well as the usual Korean side dishes. We got the seafood pancake also, but I would skip it next time.Docking points on atmosphere because its very loud and roudy. Tables are ice cold. And the room was very very smoky.

Came here craving some warm soup on a cold day and ended up ordering the budae jjigae—it was everything we were craving and More! overall, their broth takes on a sweeter flavor than some others that ive tasted, but for me, that was perfect. they didn’t skimp at all on the soup fillings either; there was plenty of spam, hot dogs, veggies, etc to go around :). i would love if they added tofu to it, though! banchan were solid as well, kimchi is on the fresher tasting side.

Charcoal made a big difference to the taste. Loved it. The meat was tender and they cut them and served, All you have to do is eat. The condiments were abundant and delicious.Tasted so good we forgot to take pictures.

I can’t give yummy beef below a 2 star review. The steak was tasty and the kalbi was fine but it was awkward how I didn’t get to cook it myself and it felt super over priced for what we got. The guy was hovering and kind of invading our space. It seemed like our request for some well done and some medium rare was not really heard. We always waited a loooong time to get our water or tea refilled and we actually had some strong tobacco smell from the guy which made it even worse. The grill was super wonky and so heat distorted and twisted that part of the grill was too hot and burned and part of the grill surface was useless since it was too cold.I wanted charcoal Korean bbq but it missed the mark for me.

(I learned from my visit that this is one of the few Korean BBQ restaurants in this area that is permitted to use charcoal grills in the table (apparently such permits are not handed out anymore). I didnt really think about it as I wasnt too observant whether the Korean BBQ restaurants used gas or charcoal until now, but now I know.)The quality of the meat was good, and the owner was grilling for the table, and he was very friendly and gave us honest opinions on the menu.To be clear, Im only docking a star in Atmosphere because this place may seem a bit bland in the interior, but I do believe that is the authentic KBBQ atmosphere.

It was the first time I went to this restaurant. Meal quality of Kalbi was good, but it was sweeter than other restaurants. BBQ grilled chicken was too sweet also. The outside of seafood pancake was burned, but the inside of the pancake was mushy, not crispy. But the quality of side dishes, traditionally serving with the main order for Koren food was very poor quality. I would like to tell my comments on the side dishes to the owner. But he wouldnt listen to me.

Excellent Sutbul (cooked over charcoal) Galbi, Suh-Dae-Goo-Ee (pan fried fish) & Banchan (side dishes).Ohjingu Bokkeum (spicy stir fried squid) was ok, have had better in most other Korean restaurants.Samgyupsal (pork belly to be cooked over charcoal at table AFTER any beef) was not good. It doesnt even remotely resemble samgyupsal served in Korea, or LA, or NYC, or anywhere, in fact. Almost inedible samgyupsal, not due to freshness issue, just the taste is so bland, not rich w.pork fat, just chewy, tough, tasteless.Nonetheless a very good restaurant for a few of our favorite dishes, with excellent service, thats why we patron this restaurant, thank you.

We were here for non BBQ, and we ordered clam soup noodle, galbi soup and daeboki. Clam noodle soup is really tasty, and enough for 1.5 people. For galbi soup, meat is tender, and they also add egg in the soup.

One of THE WORST Korean restaurants Ive ever eaten at (and Ive been to many). This place is the epitome of a owner who only cares about overcharging and not about serving garbage. Im being harsh but they really deserve it. My friend and I were planning to eat at Kunjip, 2 doors down, but they had an hour wait and we were starving. Despite the bad reviews, we decided to give this place a chance. On a Friday night they had many empty seats and we were seated immediately, which was the first bad sign. We ordered soft tofu soup and broiled mackerel for $56 including tips. They served 4 banchan (terrible kimchee, some soggy green stuff, macaroni salad smothered in old mayo and something else that was not memorable). Everything was tasteless, small quantity and bad quality. As hungry as we were, we could not even finish half of our meals and left after 30 minutes.

Today we ordered take out and realized that the sides were completely spoiled (with the sprouts sour and developing a strange sticky consistency). We called the owner but he wouldnt do anything about it. This is health hazard and we suggest that you check to make sure what you are about to eat is fresh if you ever eat at this restaurant.

Excellent authentic Korean cuisine with relaxing atmosphere and friendly service. Press the call button at your table for prompt waitress response. They have my favorite dish, Sang Sun Jun which is a rarity amount Korean restaurants. And lunch is a steel starting at around $10 for generous portions and nutrition packed meal.

Long story short, spend your money somewhere else its not worth it here.First of all, service is awful. No greeting when you come in, we had to ask for the server to come take our order and no hint of friendliness from anyone that works there. It simply does not feel welcome to dine here and its so sad to see one of my favorite childhood restaurants reach a new low like this.There used to be a time this place was affordable for all families, I was shocked to find one serving of marinated bbq was $56 today. When you are paying a premium, you expect premium meat but I only tasted a marginal difference from before. I also expected the beef to be free of white chewy fat for such a high price but I set my expectations too high and obviously this wasnt the case. They also have young inexperienced servers who had no idea how to pace cooking the meat so that customers always eat hot, fresh off the grill meat. We ended up with 2 servings of cold meat and had to eat in a hurry to prevent it from being stone cold.Im guessing the owner could sense our disappointment, when I went up to pay the check, he basically threw the card back at me without a word and literally left right away. I wanted to leave no tip for everything I experienced but stil left some for the servers who were somewhat helpful.I only left 2 stars for the nostalgia I still feel for this place, but as a kbbq enthusiast there are so many better, affordable and friendly options nearby I will not recommend this place to anyone else or will I ever come back to this establishment.

Came here via a family friend’s recommendation. I lived in socal for 8 years so I got to be spoiled by the variety and quality of Korean food choices. But I have to say, this is an amazing spot.The charcoal grill is prepared for each customer that orders a BBQ dish, and the spicy short rib + ribeye were both superb. I don’t usually care too much for marinated meat but all the meat here was super tender and juicy.Also ordered spicy short rib soup, as well as cold noodles and dukbokki. All of them exceeded our expectations, I’m thinking about going again today hahaha.Wait staff are on top of it too. Love this joint and hope to try it again!

We were a party of two. My friend and I were craving Korean BBQ and found the wait time for a few other popular ones were over 1 hr. So we ended up coming here. But there was a reason why this restaurant did not have a line on a Saturday night in the Bay Area....The price increase was crazy. The Such Bul KalBi dish we ordered was $55.99 before tax. This has increased 30% compared to 7 months ago. Maybe Im late to this information. But I wish my salary inflated at the same rate.The service was poor. We waited a long time until someone came and took our orders. It seemed like they prioritized grilling for existing customers who had food on their tables instead of new customers. Not until we started ordering, they told us we had to order at least 2 items from the wood-fired section to be able to sit at the BBQ table. Wish we knew earlier. So we didnt get the BBQ experience (or any lettuce) yet was charged the exact same amount of money.The food was fine. I might be a bit hung up on the Such Bul KalBi. But some pieces were so hard to chew. I felt like I wasted 10 bucks bc of that... Flavor wise, I liked the Tteok-bokki and the soup.Will not visit again.

New experience for me, and I was very satisfied. I ordered a beef bowl dish that had eggs and rice, and I was pleasantly surprised by the addition of a large selection of various vegi side dishes. I tried all 6 of the side dishes and liked 5 of them, despite not knowing what most of them were. My waitress was kind enough to explain what each and every thing was, and even gave me a delicious rice drink dessert.

The Korean uncle recommended a cost-effective place. Some are quite expensive. Lunch is relatively cheap. La kal bi is fried tender and tender. Other bbqs should be good too. The tofu soup is a bit spicy but tastes good. There are Korean specialties here. Cold noodles, the kind with crushed ice in them, taste really cold.

Good service, responsive. We didnt eat barbecue, we arrived at 5:30 on a Sunday night, and there were already many customers in the store. Most of the guests are Korean. We ordered a seafood cake, a bibimbap, and a tofu seafood spicy soup. The cake tastes good, but it just falls apart when you pick it up. The taste of the soup can only be said to be average, and the bibimbap is okay. The side dishes are all delicious, but the kimchi is not very tasty. The half of the store that doesnt eat barbecue is a bit hot as if there is no air conditioning, and we drank a lot of ice water. I will go again next time I have a chance.

When making a reservation, you will be asked if you would like to use the BBQ grill, so be sure to make a reservation (as the number of grills is limited). The prices are a bit more expensive than other major restaurants, but everything was delicious. One plate of meat is very filling, so its best enjoyed by 3-4 adults. Above all, it feels good to see the staff working efficiently.

I ate raw ribs and seasoned ribs, and the seasoning was delicious.. After eating the meat, the ribs were cut off from the bone and grilled again, and they had a nice chewy texture. The side dishes are delicious. The bean sprouts were delicious so I ate them for a while. Soybean paste stew is a standard Korean restaurant flavor. For a family of four, expect to pay $200.
