This is a great home style American restaurant serving copious amounts of delicious food with each of their dishes so bring a healthy appetite. The food is absolutely delicious no matter which of their many American classic dishes you choose. The atmosphere is homey and warm. They are right on the main drag with plenty of parking around back. The wait staff is incredibly friendly despite being busy (at least with each of my visits) I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in or passing through the area.

After experiencing the worst customer service EVER at RAMONA CAFE as soon as we walked in there, we left!! Had seen Kountry Kitchen on the way and we all said, lets go there. BEST CHOICE EVER! Thank you Kountry Kitchen for the most excellent customer service and the breakfast,no to go boxes needed! Ive been coming to the Kountry Kitchen for over 10 years. Its the perfect breakfast spot in Ramona with a delicious menu of farm freshed eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, and more. Try to avoid the morning rush, or it will be tough to find a place to sit. The traditional breakfast plates are a great price for the amount of food you get. This will always be a must stop for me on my trips to Ramona.

Perfect cozy breakfast place. The food was great, I got the large biscuits and gravy, which was only $1 more than the medium so I got it but it was definitely so large I didn’t need that much haha (photo of my hand for reference). I could have been full from a small probably. But it was amazing and I have no regrets! We also got the abc omelette which was amazing and the hash browns were so good and crispy. It was really busy when we got there but we didn’t have to wait too long.

What a fun little diner! Just as advertised it has a good selection of america style diner food. Breakfast served all day too. I had the BLT with onion rings and my husband had the biscuits and gravy - both were really fresh, hot, and delicious! The staff were all super kind and helpful, and we were very happy with our meal. We ended up getting slices of pie and I can say their house made pies were amazing! We visited on a Thursday afternoon and there was no wait at all, I could see how this place may get busy on weekends, etc - but itd be wort itCute decor and comfortable booths too. Will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

Stopped here.post hiking Cedar Creek. great food, warm service. Portions are huge. so keep that in mind. I got the hamburger with fried okra. The hamburger was decent. The fried okra was spectacular. 10/10 would recommend.

This is a cozy and casual diner with great food and even greater service!Our group of 8 rolled in on a Sat. afternoon after a day of paintball and we were seated right away. Folks in our group were from San Diego, Manhattan NY, LA, Dallas... and it would be fair to say everyone had extensive experience with good food. So its a big deal when every dish ordered was rated thumbs up delicious!And to think we almost missed this place! Originally, we were going to go to Marinade On Main across the street...the fancy/pretentious farm to table place. The line was out the door and when we asked if there was a wait list we were told there is no list and no estimated time...when a table becomes available someone will come out and call the next in line. Well screw that! Were going across the street to Kountry Kitchen and so glad we did!As I said, our group was seated right away at Kountry Kitchen and our waitress Shannon was so sweet and attentive! She took care of our group and every need was handled quickly. Shannon checked in on us regularly and was pleasant the entire time. I had the fish and chips and asked if they had any cocktail sauce. I was told they did not have any, but the cook will make it fresh for me since they had the ingredients on hand. We were impressed by that level of service and further impressed when the cocktail sauce turned out awesome! All the dishes came out quickly and everything tasted great...weve got some picky critics in our group and everyone left happy!So if you find yourself in the Ramona area you really should dine at Kountry Kitchen for good food and great service...I know well be back!

Amazing, Amazing, amazing 👏🏽!!!! Service here is phenomenal, friendly, and attentive. The food was fantastic, and the portions---Holy cow. Come starving hahaha. It would have been super easy to miss among all the other food places but this happened to be next to a gas station we stopped at and Im SO glad we tried it. I have never had better sweet potato fries in my life. My husband remarked that even the avocado was tastier than back home lol. Will absolutely be coming back whenever we make the trip up to Julian!!

I keep coming back and it just keeps getting better! The presentation was awesome! I came on Thursday night at 530, Restaurant was empty. Ordered spinach salad with salmon. Was fresh, non wilted spinach, ton of strawberries, hot flaky salmon, fresh bread loaf. Entire pot of coffee ☕. Love it! Sat in a booth studying 1 John, to remind me how much we are loved, this beautiful meal was a love note from Jesus! I will recommend and return. Allattention was on me😋3/17/23Back again for lunch ish. Placed an order for breakfast over the phone, I was given a 20 minute wait time. I came over to pick up the order and was told it would be 10 more minutes and to come back. After 15 minutes I came back and I was told now it was going to be another 25 minutes and to come back.I understand when your a busy establishment during a popular hour, but this kind of service is completely unacceptable. The staff members were young and rude. Rather than taking accountability for the mess up and to learn from the mistake to give people longer wait times when you’re busy so customers don’t show up and have to wait 40 minutes.I was then told I was aloud to sit at any table while I wait. After maybe 5 minutes a waitress asked me to move and go outside because the table was needed.I then asked the hostess for the managers information and they refused to give it to me. I had to speak with 4 other staff members before someone brought me the manager. The manager then let me know the owners were sitting in the restaurant. After speaking with the owners and they apologized I was given a 10% coupon to come back.This is probably the worst service I’ve ever received. I don’t recommend coming here or even placing an order. Absolutely ridiculous.

For lunch I selected the Ortega Dip - a hot sandwich composed of sliced roast beef, tangy ortega chilis, lots of dripping swiss cheese, grilled onions with a cup of au jus. I subbed sweet potato fries for regular ones.My mom ordered herbal tea, a thick slice of french toast plus an egg; she mentioned the inside of french toast was not cooked enough.Note: I was delighted to see both multigrain pancakes and waffles on their menu. I will have to try those the next time I am in town seeking a hot morning meal.

Original style country meals served with love. Theres a really cool historical mural painted on one wall showing Main Street looking toward the mountains. Seating is booths & and tables, all of which are very comfortable with plenty of natural lighting. Servers keep updating your mealtime as its progressing in the kitchen, and the California omelet is my absolute favorite. They are really good at keeping your coffee cup full too, which is key.

We were in a resort nearby and looking for a local place to grab breakfast. I was able to place my order over the phone then drive in and pick it up. I went with a waffle as well some eggs and sausage. The prices were very reasonable for the wonderful food that I received. The menu was huge and if you cant find something on the menu to order then there is something wrong. The waffle I ordered was light, fluffy and just flat out great. I cant speak to the service as I did do carry out but I can see us going again if we are ever in town again.

First off, been here plenty of times for breakfast & lunch. They have been great! First time for dinner and was excited thinking it would be another great place for dinner when i come into town! WRONG! The Garden Salad was beautiful Bread was warm and Delicious. Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner 12.99 was a major disappointment! Their presentation looked like a major after thought. Like i dug it out of the frig at midnight. But i thought here it is give it the benefit of doubt. Wrong again turkey was in pieces mostly dark meat and tasted old, and when turkey has been frozen past its due date. Never serve turkey in pieces unless for soup or turkey salad sandwiches! Carrots were cold and mash potatoes lukewarm. The corn bread stuffing was surprisingly good. Waitress and manager were accommodating and offered something else, but after this major disappointment was not in the mood for Another let down! They offered pie and that sounded good so i got apple and ordered it with cheese. Northerners Southerners and Julian, Mecca of apple pie in San Diego County! We all know apple pie and cheese!!! 22 miles from this restaurant, said they never heard of such a thing. Get up to date people! Its been around at least a hundred years! But anyway costumer service is great! I wont be eating dinner till i get that bad taste out and that will be awhile. But they do great breakfasts and lunch.!

This place definitely nails the country diner vibe with a K. There is no better place to fuel up before you go try to overthrow the government nah mean? The food was okay and the coffee was weak but the service was friendly. There may or may not be a loud thumping noise coming from the kitchen at all times while youre visiting.

Some of my very first memories of living in the country were coming here for a late breakfast after church on Sunday with my mom and dad and little sister. Im from Tennessee where biscuits and gravy is a staple. The best I have found in SoCal. I know when the gravy is homemade and this gravy was awesome! The biscuits were equally as amazing. The Belgium waffle is simply amazing! This is a very busy diner, but definitely worth the wait. Our waitress Nikki delivered service with a smile and shared some local knowledge with us. Its a big space with little in the way of acoustics to help dampen the hustle & bustle of patrons enjoying their meals. I look forward to returning to savor some of their other offerings.

Fantastic food at a reasonable price. Plates are huge and filled with food. The two egg plate specials are the perfect size. The chorizo plate was delicious and was not greasy. Coffee was served hot and if you are a fast drinker, theyll leave the pot at your table for you. There was a line, very popular, so get there early to snag a table.

We had 6 people in our party. I expected to have to wait a little bit. There was a table for 8, that was occupied by 3 “regulars”. We waited for 1/2 hour before they finally left. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes before they took our drink orders and another 15 for our food order. We have been sitting at our table for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Food still isn’t here. Had to ask multiple times for coffee refills. Not the best on customer service here. Almost everyone who came in after us has paid their bill and left already. 0/10 recommendations. 0/10 coming back.Update: two of three “regulars” we had to wait for to leave have returned for lunch.Update 2: The “regulars” who came back 1 hour 40 minutes after we sat down got their lunch already.Update 3: Manager pretended she wasn’t manager because she was worried I was upset.Update 4: WOOHOOOOO!!!!!! 1 hour 43 minutes the food is here!!!In conclusion:Food was average, at best. I was missing my bacon and sausages. Had to ask. Pancakes tasted like solid chunks of baking powder, and had the consistency of a sponge. Two of the 6 ate the chicken fried steak. One was way overdone and tasted legitimately burnt. The other was undercooked and tasted raw. Our server was horrible. She seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. Our total bill was $86. Way overpriced. One million percent won’t eat here again. Unless they close, remodel and reopen as a breakfast place.

Party of 3, and glad we stopped. Kitchen was a little slow due to 2 large parties ahead of us but the food was worth the wait. Corned beef hash was homemade and tender. Nice 1” pieces of corned beef and home style potatoes. Great flavor. We also shared some waffles that were absolutely fantastic. Home style cooking and great service. They kept our glasses full and kept checking in on us. I live in the next town over but plan on driving back! The country fried steak looked amazing. All the plates were polished off! No leftovers! Loved it!

Best breakfast foods and specials. Great service. Lots of locals. REAL THICK bacon! Big eggs and old school fry style chef who seems to just love to feed folks. Hes been there a very long time. I just wish it was not so loud. The acoustics make it impossible to hear anyone talking. But this place just added a back of the restaurant parking and entry area along with a nice out door patio to eat outside if youd like. It keeps getting better and better.

Its really hard to find a place that makes their own gravy. Its so simple to make yet most restaurants find it difficult to prepare. Im glad to say that the Kountry Kitchens gravy is homemade! While I prefer sausage gravy, I can appreciate the freshness of the bacon gravy. The chicken fried steak is paired wonderfully with the gravy!

I try not to leave bad reviews because I used to work in the food industry and I get that it can get busy. We waited for 45 minutes for our food without anyone to let us know that it’ll be a bit or to check in. Normally I’d be okay with that, but the wait was so long and no one acknowledged our existence that at a certain point I thought that they completely forgot about us. The wait was so long that my husband paid for the bill way before the food even came. No one checked on us at all, even after we got our food to see if it was okay. If the hospitality was better, then it would have been a way better experience.

When reading the negative reviews I was pretty confused, the food was very very good, I had a chicken fried steak and it was very very good. I can not speak for other dishes, but the breading was very well seasoned and covered in a heaping pile of gravy. Everything is cooked in a good portion of butter, so if youe dieting you may not want to eat here, but If you want some of the best tasting diner food in Ramona. Food didnt seem to be frozen either, which is a very nice plus

Found out after we were seated and had ordered our food and received drinks that the kitchen was backed up and it would be 30 minutes before we would get our food. That 30 minutes became almost an hour. In the meantime groups that arrived 30 minutes after us ordered and received their food. We had to chase up our server, who had not been back in the previous 60 minutes to find out where our food was. 2 minutes later it appeared and was lukewarm so it had been sitting. To be fair the food was good, tasty bacon and sausages, decent sized servings too but the delay in getting food and the dreadful service received means we wont be back for a long time. Thats a shame because this is a nice place and the other staff were more helpful than the server we had and as mentioned the food is good. Not sure why they did not tell us when we checked in that the kitchen was behind, the place was only half full.

This place was amazing! They have the friendliest staff that make you feel like youre at home and the food was great. I personally ordered the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs and hash browns with gravy. I was disappointed that the eggs were not seasoned and the steak was a bit over cooked and dry. The experience though made up for it and Im willing to give them another shot the next time Im in town.

I can cook breakfast for myself no problem and just as good if not better. So when I go out Im going because I want service and I dont feel like cooking. Paying $20 for breakfast and Im expected to get my own check my own silverware pretty much ignored and expected to tip. There is to much staff on to not get the service that I deserve. Best breakfast nook. We really love the food here and the customer service experience is always pleasant. Our waitress always go out of their way to take good care of our table. We meet every week here after playing bridge. Its a bit tricky driving here depending on the hour of the day. But we enjoy the moist turkey and corn bread. All the dishes are home made style. Our bill is always under $50 For a party of four. And that includes breakfast and coffee with a sweet tooth accommodation as a topper. Nice friendly folks

Good food and a lot of it, at very reasonable prices. The day we visited, the kitchen was slammed, and both the hostess and our waitress apologized in advance for the 45 minute wait between ordering and receiving food. Not a problem for us, as we wanted a lazy Sunday breakfast. The food was definitely worth the wait!

The staff was wonderfully helpful and quick with me, and my friends order. Our Kountry Kitchen is a Ramona favorite for good reason and continues to get better. Great food, and lots of it, with friendly service to match. The remodel underway has already added more seating space, and the new menu offers even more selections for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every dish has a bit of country flavor twist. We have been coming back again and again for many years and it never disappoints.

This place was very accommodating. We went in and ordered minutes before closing. Our dinner meals of liver & onions and meatloaf (both very good) were to be served with baked potatoes, but they were out. Instead of telling us to order something else, they made some baked potatoes, so we could have the meals we wanted. Our waitress was very nice and attentive to our needs.

My wife and I had a SENSATIONAL experience at Kountry Kitchen! Caitlin our server was fun, friendly, and informative. The food was plentiful, priced fairly, most importantly it was delicious! The chicken fried steak and eggs I had was the best I have ever haf. Unique, tasty coating, good gravy, and perfectly cooked eggs. The home fried potatoes, ordered crispy, were the lone disappointment only because they really werent crispy. My wifes omelette was just the way she likes it. Both of us had to leave food on our plates even though it was so good we didnt want to. Well eat there again next chance we get.

The Kountry Kitchen is a comfortable establishment in Southern California, serving amazing breakfasts. Firstly, my order was almost perfectly made, if a little slow in arriving to the table. Secondly, the hash browns are delicious, with the tasty balance of softness and crunch. My girlfriend and I picked this place because very few options open monday afternoon during COVID. We were seated on small deck behind the restaurant. They had umbrellas which was key because sun was getting hot. I had a 1/2 sandwich, soup & pie combo and my girl had a turkey club w/fries. Soup was beef vegetable. Was ok....little bland. Roast beef on sour dough was ok. Slice of pie was mixed berry and about 1/3 of a pie! Should have asked if the could warm it up. Would have been so much better. Turkey club was decent but bacon was kind of fatty. Best part of this lunch was fries....they were super good. Active military kicked out for using the bathroom too muchI have never been so offended in my life. My nephews girlfriend was feeling very sick this morning. So ill that she could barely leave the bathroom, and when she did, she couldnt get very far. She never even had a chance to touch her food and we had to box it up and take it to go. We spent over $100 for breakfast and was content with this restaurant until we were kicked out for using the bathroom too much.We left, and then I went back to speak to the manager because I was appalled and offended. She apologized and offered to fix her breakfast or treat her to a breakfast after she heard that she wasnt feeling well.She said we were asked to leave because another customer didnt want to use the bathroom for fear that my nephews girlfriend might have spent so much time in the bathroom due to drug use... in a family restaurant, at noon for 45 minutes.Not a single person in my group uses drugs, and it was clear that she was not feeling well. My nephew was rubbing her back and bringing her water. The manager never asked if she was OK, and asked us to leave. She and my nephew are respected members of the military and are actively risking their lives for this country, they deserve to be treated with more respect and common courtesy than what we received here. Obviously the kountry in kountry kitchen does not stand for Americas active military who look nothing like drug addicts!

Country for sure. Great food and service. Huge portions. I have half left for tomorrows breakfast. If you are in a hurry dont go. Just like home..relax and be patient.

Our family loves kk....our name for kountry kitchen....the food is great...breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Oh dont forget the bread pudding the mothera sauce omg...ive been known to stop in grab the bread pudding and go...its amazingly delicious!

The server (woman with pony tail and glasses) touched my child without asking and made her uncomfortable and scared. Then she sat extremely close to me even after my child was clearly scared and we were all weirded out. I don’t understand in what universe it’s ok to touch some strangers kid without asking and completely ignore basic respect and personal space to both mother and child. Weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced. Never going back. Don’t want my kid to be traumatized....like what the hell? Who does that? Seriously?
