Authentic, authentic, authentic! I can’t stress enough how genuine the food at this place is. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with the aroma of dishes that transport you straight to China. The menu offers a diverse selection of dishes that are a true reflection of their culture. I was particularly impressed with their boiled beef with spicy Sichuan sauce. The service here was friendly and attentive adding to the overall experience. If you’re a fan of authentic Sichuan cuisine, this place is a must visit!

Food tastes like it was made with a lot of care. This was our 2nd time getting takeout. The chef special chicken is so spicy but addictive. Non spicy items like scrambled egg with shrimp and fried rice is very good. Fried buns dessert is also a hit.

This is easily my new favorite Sichuan restaurant.The food is so fresh and flavorful and perfectly seasoned. The spicy chicken has a good crunch that is super satisfying and isn’t greasy at all. The mapo tofu is smooth and silky with a decent level of spiciness. Also, rice is included with the entrees!The QR code set-up for ordering food is super efficient allowing you to pay immediately upon ordering or keep your tab open. Service is good. The waiter checked in a few times to ensure the food was good and kept refilling the water glasses.Glad to see this (much-needed) place open in Irvine and will definitely return again soon!

I had an absolutely amazing dining experience at Kuan Zhai Alley! The flavors of their Sichuan dishes were an explosion of deliciousness that left my taste buds dancing with delight. From the moment I stepped in, the ambiance transported me to the heart of Sichuan province. The attentive staff made the experience even better, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring every aspect of the meal was perfect. The authenticity of the cuisine and the carefully curated menu truly showcased the rich culinary heritage of Sichuan. If youre a fan of bold and spicy flavors, Kuan Zhai Alley is an absolute must-visit. I cant wait to return and explore more of their delectable offerings!

Food and staff were top tier, every single dish that was ordered was excellent. And in my personal opinion the best dish was the pork ribs or the lemon crispy shrimp

I saw good reviews on xiaohongshu so decided to give this place a try - big mistake. The spicy chicken dish is chef recommended but it’s like eating rocks. There’s not much chicken in the dish to begin with and the chicken is overly fried so it’s too hard to chew. We also ordered the cauliflower dish and it’s too sweet, never had a sweet cauliflower before. Finally, dan dan noodle is too salty and not like dan dan noodle I’ve had in Cheng Du at all, not even close. Please consider retrain your cooks if you want to survive in Irvine where there’re many better restaurants. On the good side, the place is clean and service is at attentive. But still, this is a restaurant and I come here to eat, so food is the most important and the food here is regrettably underwhelming for $60+ dollars.

I ordered take out and the food was ready on time. I had the dry pot pork intestine and sliced beef and maw. Everything was fresh and the portions were big. 10/10 recommend.

I recently heard that the owners changed, so I decided to give the restaurant a try because I live right next to the mall. The food is amazing and the service is top-tier. It feels like I am in China eating Chinese food.

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had outside China! The Dan Dan noodles were exceptional and the tea and fried rice were also spot on. They have not forgives out the red oil dumplings yet so I would recommend avoiding those. Definitely excited to come back and try out more dishes though!

Here for the third time and I absolutely love the pork ribs! The taste is authentic and takes me back to China. You can tell the chef takes his time preparing the meals. Definitely going for a fourth visit.

Most authentic Sichuan food in the OC, easily! Much better than Meizhou Dongpo or Sichuan Impressions. 10 stars for food, excellent service and a great vibe. We came as a family with two little children and they were so accommodating. Ordered the tofu, mung bean noodles and a whole bunch of dishes. It’s one of those places where you can’t go wrong. Everything is tasty!

Very authentic Szechuan cuisine! I came with a large group of people and everyone was able to pick something they liked off the menu. There are a good number of spicy and non-spicy dishes on the menu. My favorites are the dry chili chicken, lemon shrimp, szechuan string beans, and sour pickled fatty beef. Yum!

Kuan Zhai alley is on of the few hidden gems in Irvine. I tried this place with my boyfriend and the food and service was absolutely stellar. I fully recommend this amazing establishment to anyone who has a passion for great food.

As an old Chengdu native, I have to say that the taste of this restaurant is too good. Zijiangmei frogs are indeed more authentic. The frogs are very fresh. I asked the boss that they are freshly killed every morning. The fat beef in golden soup is too much to eat. I ate two big bowls. The taste of cold noodles is also very authentic, but it may taste better if it is replaced with stick noodles!

Food: Most of the food is pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary, just home-cooked Sichuan cuisine, but the braised pork is reheated twice or multiple times and is very unpalatable.Environment: The environment restaurant is very small and crowded. I booked a table for six people the day before, but it turned out that there were three tables for two people put together. The only round table in the corner was not given to us, saying that the round table had been booked. The result From 12 noon to around 2 oclock when we left, the round table was always empty. The rectangular table that is put together is not suitable for Chinese food. During the meal, we need to keep picking up food for the friends across the table, otherwise they will not be able to reach it.Service: Other peoples tables are given stainless steel cups that look better quality, but our table is full of disposable plastic cups. I dont know what the meaning of this distinction is? When paying the bill, there is a compulsory big party service fee of 18% of the food price. On this basis, the option of charging a tip appears for the second time. I have to say that your eating looks are too ugly! Wont go there a second time!

It’s so delicious. In the Chinese area where you used to drive a long way to eat Sichuan cuisine, you can now eat Sichuan cuisine right at your doorstep. Several people ordered a table full of dishes, with an average cost of $30-40, which is very affordable! Especially recommend the baby ginger frog, grilled fish, saliva chicken, pickled pork with preserved vegetables, every dish is delicious! Love love love!

We went to Kuanzhai Alley at noon, because it was a newly opened shop, we were very happy to wait for about 15 minutes to find a seat. We ordered fat beef in sour soup, boiled live fish, and husband and wife lung slices. The three dishes were delicious. Spicy and sour enough, it goes well with the meal. When I left, I praised the clerk that it was super delicious. I will definitely come again next time! In the evening, my husband and I started to have diarrhea. I didn’t eat anything and only drank water, so I must have had diarrhea after eating their dishes. My husband had diarrhea 5 times until he was dehydrated. Very disappointed, the taste is really good, but Diarrhea puts us off going again.

Fat intestine duck blood and hairy blood are both good! The boss and the waiters were very enthusiastic and gave me a few cucumbers. Haha, come again next time
