Secret Gem!!!! Passing by for years but never went in. Today I had my first try and it was AMAZING!!!! Nice clean and comfortable atmosphere. The people are so nice!!I had the Lunch Special Bento Box was pretty hefty!! Flavorful, Fresh, Quick. This place is definitely becoming a favorite!!

KUMI KO was absolutely amazing, this is probably one of the best Sushi restaurants Ive been to thus far & I have had lots of good sushi. The Owners run the place & they are very nice. The customer service is simply wonderful, they have a beautiful decorative establishment. Everything was so fresh & very well put together, you can tell they enjoy what they do. The place is not very huge & may not be in the best area but, when you try them out, youll definitely be back! I will be back there soon & take pictures. KUMI KO 10-10.

Great find thanks to Eater LA- sushi in Compton is here. Almost isolated like a cute house on a hill this Japanese restaurant has a great selection of sushi, bowls, ramen and even Japanese drinks. Awesome decor and a friendly staff. Definitely a favorite for me now.

What an amazing find for me in the heart of Compton. The sushi here is absolutely authentic and it tastes amazing. My restaurant experience was A1! Went in there with a mission; to eat some soup! I have to say, fireeeee, fuegoooo, dankkkkkkk; flight ✈️ However way I put it, there is no complaints just grateful. This is the type of place you would call a great hole in the wall. The food portions are big. The chef comes out to greet you once you are served. All the staff was so nice! It seems to be family owned. This was definitely authentic flavorful food. The prices are pretty fair. 100% recommended.

This just became my favorite sushi spot. Not only are the rolls amazing but the service as well. In my opinion, nothing beats a family owned and operated business. Fresh fish, amazing cucumber salad, the monkey balls are delightful, and the thai tea was perfect (not overly sweet like most). I will definitely be back.

They only offer outside dining. You order inside and sit outside. They bring you your food. Service is friendly & efficient!I got the Sushi & Sashimi Bento. It was alright, but one of the Sashimi was not fully sliced into 2 pieces so I had to break it up with my Chopsticks. **Thank you to the business owner for your clarification on the Yellowtail... Ive eaten a quite a lot of Sashimi and never had my Yellowtail prepared that way! Now I know. We also got a Chicken Bento but the Gyoza were cold.I would give them a try again, but not in a hurry.

I love this place. It is beautifully decorated and aesthetic in Japanese culture. However, the food and staff is a solid 10/10. The chef, and everyone else are so warm and welcoming. Their customer service is great, they attend to you in the sweetest manner. My favorite is the Alaska roll.

What else can I say about this place that hasnt already been said. Its a gem in the city of Compton. My go to spot for sushi in all of LA. Never have had a bad dish here. Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. My go to dishes is the Kumiko roll and the Creamy Shrimp. If you are thinking about trying this place, please check it out. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

This hidden gem is awesome! They dont serve beer but you can bring your own just as long as you take the empty cans with you when you leave. The sushi is on point and at a reasonable price. Small place but never too crowded. I just had my birthday there last night and they treated us like family! Highly recommend trying out!

The place is so cute inside Im disappointed that it will probably will be a long while before I can eat inside it. Its clean, staff is friendly and greet you when you arrive and when you leave. Food was good and 8 year old child approved. They have the macaron ice cream sandwiches and mochi ice cream. It was all yummy. Can see the fish sitting in ice on the chefs bar which is unusual except in very expensive places. Local small business. Didnt take any pictures unfortunately but rolls were visually pleasing with good portions.

Hey! A place like this in Compton? Yes, its really there. I recommend anyone familiar with the cuisine to come in and enjoy. Also, anyone not familiar come in and experience some delicious food. Family friendly, they provide chopstick trainers for kids. Really great lunch specials as well. My favorite thing to eat is sushi, you wont find filler ingredients here. Bring your happy faces down and you wont be disappointed. I even got to meet their chefs.

The customer service is average, the food is way over priced! The chicken was under cooked and didn’t taste good. I’ve been to way better sushi places that offer more for what u pay for. I don’t plan on coming back nor do I recommend. I didn’t even finish my bowl since the chicken was so hard to chew on like if it wasn’t cooked. Very small portions as well. I first visited Kumi Ko in April. I was so impressed with the decor, customer service and of course the food. It is a small and beautiful restaurant. It is a family owned restaurant. The family is very sweet and are extremely professional. The food is top notch and you will find yourself coming back for more. Since April, I have introduced about 5 people to Kumi Ko and they have all love it. I cant count how many time I have returned to Kumi Ko for lunch. I usually get the Bento box which is arranged beautifully. I absolutely recommend this restaurant if you live near by, work in the area or are in the mood for a delicious meal.

Best sushi in town. Food is fresh, delicious and always on point. A nice arrange of Japanese food. In my opinion the cherry blossom roll is the best. Perfectly balanced, slightly spicy and fresh. Udon soups are delicious and perfect for rainy days. So far all appetizers are a hit but the dumplings are great! The miso soup is a nice start and the Thai tea is perfect with any meal. Bruce along with all the other employees provide amazing service everytime we stop by. And to finish the meal... you should get the banana tempura, it is spectacular! Wasnt being conservative today!SUSHIWe decided to get the Kumiko Boat (assorted sushi, nigiri and sashimi) but I was stunned by the pure massiveness of the boat! It literally took two tables and EVERYONE stopped and stared as the hostess brought it to our table. Talk about show stopping and beautiful. Granted Ive had better sashimi, but those restaurant like Sugar Fish are MUCH more expensive. This is good quality fish at an affordable price.TEA- Green tea with roasted popped brown rice (something along those lines)Very good tea to start the meal plus free refills so I had 3 cups in total.- Iced Thai tea, fiancée stated that it was good but wish it had less iceDESSERTWas recommended by the chef, he stated that I would appreciate the cold, soft sweetness of the ice cream (wasnt expecting green tea ice cream to be so scrumptious) and the warm crunch of the fried banana but I have to say, the contract of salty, sweet, warm, cold, soft and crunchy was wonderful!
