I’m a big fan of this place. When I want quick sushi at a decent price this is often our go to spot. The sushi never disappoints and I love the conveyor belt experience. The staff is always friendly and this last trip one of the servers was passing out silly pickup lines for me to say to my wife. I appreciate that extra step in service that you just don’t get anymore.

Cool fun place to eat with friends. The conveyor belt is mesmerizing. The offerings on the belt are limited but the electronic menu has many more choices. Partner treated me on my birthday. We got about 20 pieces at $2.75 each

Too expensive. A single dish has usually two sushis & cost around $3.50. Some dishes cost more depends on what they are.For sushi with fish and meat etc, the price is ok, but snacks and cheap small rolls should not be the same price. Overall value is not great.Taste is ok, it would not taste any better than a decent Japanese sushi place elsewhere.For five people (one elderly two kids) we spent around $130, the elderly and kids barely prob ate 10 plates. Me and the other person ate 10 plates each. It would cost nowhere near this much in a normal sushi place.The revolving bar is cool for kids, but youd be better off going to a normal restaurant.

Clean job doesn’t doing well, because this restaurant is popular for family, you can find rice on floor anywhere.Sushi is not that bad even they used machines to make it, but for Cal roll, eel roll, simply roll actually it’s good enough!

Its just fun to go to Kura Sushi. Kids enjoy your most waiting and picking the dishes from the automatic conveyor belt. Its a tech heavy experience but the sushi is Good too. We spend roughly $20 to $30/person.

First time here and the experience was different and I like different. You start off by signing in on the tablet as you enter so they know how many within the party. We were a party of two, so waiting was like 2 minutes. We were seated at table 11 and the server gave us a quick intro on how to order and how to remove the plate from the revolving belt of dishes. Our drinks were delivered by a robot, which is awesome and nothing Ive seen before. You do have to remove the drinks/straw/wasbi yourself though. Overall, the dishes were tasty, although I did not try the raw fishes

A Japanese restaurant with a revolving sushi bar and other automatic novelties. You order through a touch screenmounted above the table (way way too high in fact). Drinks are delivered by a robot. Other food items are delivered through a conveyor belt. Ramen was covered by a lid with a lock to avoid spill. And dishes are to be disposed of into a slot. And you could make payment via the touch screen, so you dont have to wait for any staff if you want. Food wise it is OK but if it is your first time, the experience is quite worth it.

Very cool sushi bar. An automated robot would be directed to our table to deliver drinks when we ordered them, which was mind blowing. Food was nice and convenient, with a tablet that can order food that can be delivered via a conveyor belt next to our table. 100% would recommend!

Definitely their worst of the chains. It seemed as if the manager heard that they needed to double revenue, so they told the chefs to cut their pieces in half and serve more rice. Nothing tasted too bad, but also nothing rather spectacular. Most plates were around $3.30, so I suppose I can’t expect much - albeit the other kura chains in Cupertino & SF serve way more and are way more consistent.

Our first ever time trying out Sushi and I must say we couldn’t have chosen a better place. We went during the peak lunch time so we had to wait around 45 minutes but in the end all worth it. All the items that we tasted were good, definitely coming back soon for more.

The food was fresh and delicious with a lot of variety to choose from. They also provided special prizes as of their collaboration with Demon Slayer. We got a paid Zenitsu batch and a free Inosuke batch. Both prizes were high quality and were so fun to open. I truly recommend this sushi restaurant as the food was brilliant and left a memorable experience never to be forgotten.

The experience and quality of the food are what make you come back here. Never been to a rotating sushi bar where you can grab your food, or order it on the screen above you. The food is $3.99 for each plate and it’s all calculated based on how many plates you slide in the trash slot, or if you order from the screen. A little robot will come by with your drinks as well which was adorable. I went first thing this morning at opening and it was perfect, I would recommend going back here!

Food quality was good but no great. The hot dishes were better when we ordered them directly to the table instead of grabbing the ones one the conveyor. Each plate is about the size you would expect for the price. Wait staff was attentive and I could see all the cooks working super hard in the kitchen. Well oiled machine with a little bit of a wait. Too expensive. Price increased a lot since we visited a while ago. One plate cost ms $3.5. Some plates only have one piece. The hot food is especially more expensive: one ramen or rice bowl cost $12 but the size is half of the regular size you get in a ramen restaurant.Tasting is just so so. Would be the last time to visit.

We came here more for the atmosphere than we do for the quality of the food. As far as conveyor belt sushi goes though the product is pretty good and doesnt taste like its been on a never-ending loop.On the weekends we show up around 3:30-4 to avoid writing in line but still had a 20-minute wait today.Theres an option in their app to join the waitlist remotely but Ive never seen it enabled for this location.

Honestly food is pretty good, but not the best. Honestly though you’re getting a mix of both pretty good food and a fun experience. It’s always fun to watch the sushi roll by you and grab what you want as you go. On top of that every 15 plates you get a little prize. Nothing major, last time we got a micro fiber cloth, but it’s always fun. Touch screen tablet at each table too so you can order what you want as you go, and not have to wait.It’s not always the cleanest but it’s more then clean enough. When I say that I mean like the soy sauce bottle has a little dried soy sauce on it. Nothing major, but it’s something you notice.Would I come here again, yes, it’s honestly fun and in my honest opinion, low stress and fun way to spend the evening if I don’t feel like cooking. If you want 10/10 sushi though, this isn’t the place. Have fun when you come here though! Still would recommend.

Just okay. The wait here can be very long if you come on the weekend. We went here on a weekday and there was no wait with plenty of other open tables. This place is good if you want to try a several different dishes. We ended up getting about 20 dishes that totaled about $75 before tip. The restaurant could be cleaner. Our table was dirty and the middle divider on the conveyer belt was very dusty and had random splatter of liquid which was off putting. I would come back if I was in the area but wouldn’t go out of my way.

+1 star soley for convenience. But negative 4 for food. I am a huge sushi/roll/japanese fan. I know sushi. The rolls and sushi that you get here are worse than those you get from the quick grab section of Safeway. Heck, day old rolls from Costco are actually better.Also, depending on where you are seated, if you are near the end of the conveyors, 90% of the time, the plates that will come to you are empty since everyone else took the good ones out (sorry, actually, nothing is good here). I will never come here again and I will tell all my friends and family not to even dare try. I didnt only dislike it, I hated it. Its a joke of a restaurant, the worst of all sushi places Ive been, and Ive been to a LOT.Had to also wait 30 mins due to the long line only to be disappointed. For people who rated this 2 stars and above, they probably never had real sushi before.Look at the photos. They are 7-11 type of sushi.The place is also disgusting as mentioned in other reviews as well.

It was packed, went during late lunch time but on Presidents day. The seating system was great, i signed in and was notified by text when it was my turn. The food quality and selection was good, but nothing spectacular, hot soups items was $6 but in my opinion it was not worth it. The revolving selections was great at 2.75 a plate but depending on the rolls it varies between 1 to 4 pieces. Spent $46 something for 11 sushi plates and a few onscreen orders plus 2 drinks. Still left hungry.

Incredibly long wait (1 hour). Sign in system set up with no supervision, so rude customers were cutting in line. The restaurants text notification wasnt working correctly and told us we had been skipped over in line when we hadnt. We were seated in the 7th of 8 aisles, so by the time the dishes on the carousel would reach us, many of them were empty, and what was remaining was definitely looking worse for the wear. OK quality, but very small quantity per dish. And there were no robots. We ended up spending $150 on dinner for 4 - will not come back. The San Francisco location was much better run than this.

Decent quality food for a fast food sushi joint. My kid LOVED it. Asked for this place for the next 3 days following. He of course was more than entertained by the prize eggs and cartoons for putting your dishes in to the dish return slot plus the idea of ordering off the ipad -- than the food. They also have the conveyor belt pretty well stocked for options. One of each only but they came around and refilled quick. Lots of parking. Wheelchair accessible. Staff was super friendly tho slightly forgetful. We had a couple special orders neither came out quite right. The food was pretty good. The dessert portions are small but tasty. I had the green tea mochi. My son had the cheesecake. He love it. I didnt. Place was clean and fun for a quick bite before shopping at the outlets across the street. Way better than the food court food over there. This will probably be my go to place.

Its very popular here! We got the number through the ordering system check in. at the door, and waited for half an hour to sit down. Self-help is very convenient, and you can get food as you like. When we first arrived here, the waiter patiently introduced the self-help method to us, and the service attitude was very good! According to their introduction, we also used the ordering tool above the table to order a bowl of noodles, which is very convenient! We put the empty plate into the hole on the left side of the table, and the staff will calculate the price of our consumption according to our plate, which is a clever way. Whether you want to check out or need help from the waiter, you should first use the ordering tools above the table, and all the services are very good! There are many kinds of rice rolls, but few kinds of cakes and fruits. Noodles can be obtained by ordering. These can make you full, but in some ways you will feel that something is missing.

Went during a non-busy time, it was different from my 1st visit.Both visit was a great experience. If you enjoy a unique way to try different kinds of sushi, this is a place to try it. Especially the bonus of enjoying 15 plates, youll get a nice cute item from the Bikkura Pon! 🚩Fish is extremely not fresh. We got 2 order of tuna Nigri, the tuna on one of the plates is almost dark brown color. Same goes to other fish, dry and turned brown, probably sitting on the conveyor belt for a long time. We also had to wait an hour to get in. Its hard to understand how their fish is so not fresh, when they are this busy, but this was our experience going to the restaurant on a Saturday night.

Even is not covid time, this restaurant hygiene is terrible. Food are low quality. But for the price is ok. These wall next to the table along the belt is disgusting with lots of stains. Not sure if my picture really captures it. But luckily I bring my alcohol spray and had to spray it down before my little one sits near that part. Yuck!!!Also those exposing wires. I do food law and this is not compliance with it Im sure. You canno5 expose wiring like this where cleaning is impossible and cause food contamination of some sort. Management should definitely look into it!

Been coming here since it first opened even though knowing the food is not superb but good enough. It is a fun interactive eating experience. Grab from a conveyor belt of food or order from a tablet. After sliding 15 empty plates a ball drops with your themed prize. There’s always a wait that’s why use the app to join waitlist. The only good thing about this place is the fact that they have a revolving sushi. Otherwise, I won’t be coning back and recommend this place. I am from Reno so I was looking forward to eat sushi in San Francisco considering the accessibility pf seafood. However, this place served not-so-fresh sushi. It was disappointing. I had a great experience with my friends here. Very interesting, I love that they brought here the new technology from Japan. Its a great new experience will recommend it and I will surely come back for more.Very neat place.Food taste good. This actually should be 4.5 stars. This was a fun place to eat. You got rotating sushi, order sushi that comes to you via a conveyor belt, and robots that serves you water and tea although they might spill a bit. The price is amazingly affordable but on the higher side for things that are aside from sushi, rolls and others that are in rotation. What I meant is like udon and ramen they are a bit on the high side. The ding is when we were first seated we were asked if this was our first time and we replied yes but we were not told anything. We had an issue of how to open the cover to take the plate from the belt and had to ask someone that passed by to show us how it should be opened without dropping/popping the food out. So why ask us anyway if you are not going to show us how to order and how to remove the plate?PSA: you hold the bottom plate with one hand and hold the plate that contains the food with the other and lift the plate with the food to open the cover.

Went to Kura three times in one week! Great place for kids since they get super excited for the surprise balls after 15 plates (the whole process is super intuitive for kids). Ive been to multiple Kura locations, even ones from out of state. However, I visit this location the most. The sushi, beef, ramen, taiyaki ice cream, sesame balls are all delicious. The ginger & wasabi are yummy too. IMO, Kura has the best tasting wasabi. I do want to note that not all of the sushi is 100% good all the time. It can be a hit or miss, depending on the day & who (in the kitchen) is making the rice & cutting the fish. Sometimes the fish is cut way too thick, which can create a really fishy taste. The rice is not packed tight enough at times & immediately falls apart. If you order from the tablet, sometimes youll get a piece of fish or beef that is blazing cold, while the rice is warm. If Im not mistaken, I think the fish &/or beef is pre-packaged or pre-cut? The employees just make the rice & assemble the sushi?Anyways, many of the employees are super friendly & customer service is great. Its what keeps me coming back.The concept of conveyor belt sushi is fun. Every plate on the conveyor is $3.70 each. Prices of the items on the tablet varies. You receive a little prize once youve eaten 15 plates. You can grab it above the tablet once it dispenses. There is also an animation that plays on the tablet for every 5 plates that you place into the slot. If you download the Kura app, you will receive points, which are then turned into coupons. Coupons are $5 off on your total order. If you sign up for newsletter via email, you will be notified when they have new items & when the theme collab changes every month. If you go on specified dates you can receive the large prize with a $60 total purchase.Unfortunately, other customers & their children can ruin the experience for you. If its your first time at Kura please let the employee know so they can teach you how to grab a plate, how to slide the plate into the slot & how to place an order on the tablet. If you have young children its not ideal to let them sit right next to the conveyor. Its best to have an adult handle the grabbing of the plates. Ive seen many kids & even adults grabbing the plates incorrectly. Dont yank on the cover or brown bottom. Its a simple one handed lifting & pulling of the main plate. Also, please dont let your kids touch every sushi cover on the conveyor. If you touch a plate, you must take that plate. Personally I like to sit at the bar vs at the booth. Its a lot more quiet.Overall, this location is great. The sushi can be a hit or miss, but for the most part it is yummy. I would highly recommend this place.Items I like the best: Umami oil salmon, garlic skipjack tuna, umami oil seared beef, yuzu jalapeño tuna, udon, toro, sea bream, Texan roll, crunchy roll, tekka maki, fried takoyaki, sesame balls, taiyaki ice cream.

Great place if you want some good sushi. They have plenty of sushi on the belt for you to choose. Just simply grab the plate and lift the plastic cover up. They charge by plate if you grab it from the belt, or you can check the tablet to order some special items and it will be delivered to you either by a robor or the belt on top. Very cool experience.

I visited this restaurant today. It was at around 1 pm and there was around 15 minutes wait time. I signed in when I came. To my surprise, the waiter allowed people in who signed in after me. After he allowed other family before me, I asked why he was doing it. He said your table was getting ready. I suppose it was because it was only me and my little daughter, so we won’t spend as much as other bigger families.In terms of food, I expected more. Fish was fresh but the rice was falling apart. It was very uncomfortable to eat non-sticky rice. I don’t think I would recommend this place.

Our first time to Karu Sushi in Pleasanton today. Like some reviews said this is not a high quality sushi place. We had the Sockeye Salmon and Albacore Tuna both were not fresh it was fishy so we couldnt eat the other piece on each of the plate. The rice balls in the sushi falls apart easily. We had 10 plates sushi and small bowl of ramen cost us $60 for two included tips.Not so high quality sushi for $60 we can get some good sushi in the Bay area. The sushi containers on the conveyor belt has many finger prints on them.🤢 We wont return Karu.

We have been trying to go to this place for a while every time its been long lines this time we found there was a counter that we can sit on and we do not have to wait at all, otherwise it was an hour away for a table,, well worth the waur time if you like a great experience. I would recommend ordering off the menu and watch your food come down the the food line to your table A fun experience for all. Also while you wait, youll find some great bakeries to take home at near by shops within a few steps away, so dont sit in the car and wait.

Kura Sushi is probably one of the best sushi experiences around in the East Bay. The conveyor belt sushi restaurant isnt terribly common around these parts, so its an absolute delight that Kura does it so splendidly.The system is modern and feels straight from Japan as it cheerfully announces that your ordered food has arrive. For those unfamiliar, there are sushi that you can freely pick off the conveyor belt. If you want any item in particular, its only a quick custom order away - which in my experience comes very quickly and efficiently. Simply for the feeling of being in Japan again, Kura hits all the right notes. Bonus points for the prizes earned just for ordering more plates of sushi.As for the food itself seafood is clearly a cut above cheaper sushi restaurants, and is just absolutely delicious, with a wide selection ranging from nigiri to rolls. At around $3.50 per item, its definitely slightly more expensive, but well worth the price.Honestly this is one of my favorite chains, and rarely disappoints. Since the pandemic hit, their menu seems to no longer do as many limited time specials items, but the core selection is still delicious as ever.

It’s an amusement park! Fun! Full of energy! It’s like a circus packed with tonnes of visual stimuli. The conveyor belt is ridiculously. I wish the conveyor belt at airports are also this fast. Sushi literally flew all the way across the belt to land right in front of your eyes. The LCD screen is well built, which makes ordering particularly efficient. The whole process is streamlined to the max. Staff members are dedicated and helpful. This place is also quite affordable considering it’s a sushi restaurant and you are enjoying a fun experience. The downside is fish quality. We had a pair of amaebi that came while they were still frozen. We let it thaw and then eat it. Hotate is great. The hand rolls are great. Some nigiri need a bigger piece of fish. If fish quality or fish size is improved a little bit, the whole experience would be 5/5 given its price. This restaurant is a cute idea! Robots bring your drinks, a slow conveyor belt constantly has food coming by, and an upper conveyor belt brings the food you specifically ordered right to your table. You put your plates down a chute and it charges you what you per plate. All ordering and checkout is done through the tablet. After a certain amount of plates, you get a prize that also gets rolled down a chute right to your table. If all goes well, you should never have to interface with the staff.Now why I give it 3 stars: the restaurant is outdated, our plate chute was out of order, the staff is so used to not doing anything that when you ask them for an additional cup or to come pick up the plates they dont know what to do. The food is super cheaply made, not very good, and way overpriced. The prizes suck and the tablet user interface is not pretty or practical. The tables, chairs, utensils, soy sauce dispensers, floor decor, etc. all need to be updated! Ive been coming to this place since they opened and have had great experiences--good sushi at good prices, but during my last two visits Ive noticed that the place is very dirty and you can tell that it isnt cleaned regularly. All surfaces are sticky and you can see build-up of old food near plate slots. I hope this situation gets better, if not Ill have to stop going.

This is a chain restaurant and we have visited the one in Las Vegas and Livermore, CA. Interesting concept and could be a fun experience. Its best to come just before it gets busy to be assured of getting a table, and when it gets busy the food tends to be fresher. Prices are generally good but you will get what you pay for.Most food is delivered on a conveyor belt but there is an LCD screen at the table where you can order other items. The other items are delivered directly to your table on another conveyor belt directly from the kitchen.Service is good but the food is kind of mediocre, often not fresh. As a test I tried the sea urchin (uni) and it fell apart when I touched it. A lot of the other fish had a mushy texture and had a bit of a fishy smell.If they could improve their product it would be worth paying more for it. Otherwise you are just paying for the novelty. There are a few other sushi places we go to that have a much fresher product, are still making a profit, and dont cost that much more.

This place is more of a gimmick than anything else. The sushi is average at best. It is pricey, youll pay at least $3 per plate, and portions are small. It is fun to watch all the different sushi go on by and choosing what you want. However, if you want fresher sushi, order it from the screen at your table.

There is nothing to call mom about.Its a nice authentic feel of a Japanese style revolving conveyor with food you may pick up of the belt.Its not pleasant if you the end of the belt as things you may want will get picked by guests at the beginning of the belt, but you can order it on the tablet.-Wait is long on peak hours, the use of a tablet as an early check-in, and text you when your number is near is handy.-When its busy, its hard to get refill

As someone who has been to the location at Convoy San Diego, this location is a huge disappointment. We were a party of 4, checked in at 9pm, and was seated at 9:30pm. First thing I noticed, is that the table and seats were not wiped down properly, there was residue from the last customers. Next, the server that brought the drinks, soy sauce pan, and wasabi basically threw or dropped the items on the table. Next, there was another server that explained how things worked, also told us that the tablet would stop taking orders at 9:45. As there was basically no food on the belt, we had to use the tablet. And not only that, it also limited the orders we could place. At around 9:45 the tablet stopped working, we wanted to order more food but nobody came to check on us for a while so we pressed for the call button. We noticed that the servers went to the other tables to see how other customers were doing, but seemed to just disregard us. It took them about 10 minutes when we called out to one of them passing by before they noticed us, and we asked if we could order more food, that same server who told us the tablet would stop taking orders at 9:45pm, said the kitchen closes at 9:45pm, and the only option by that time was to get the bill, so not only was she going against what she had told us initially. She wasnt being apologetic at all, she wasnt even making an effort to somehow make it a better experience for us. It just makes no sense to still be taking customers at that point, if we only have 10-15 minutes to eat. Where is the courtesy reminder? How do we even get to enjoy this? Apart from the horrible customer service (the host also had very dramatic long leopard sort of print of nails which is the first time Ive ever seen in a food service environment), the quality of the food just cant compare to the SD location. The nigiri rice broke off. The overall experience was just horrible, we would never come to this location again.

Great service and food, the price was not bad as well. Only bad part was when I went to the bathroom, two of the robots were coming from opposite direction towards each other and there was not room for them to get around each other, I waited for them to figure it out but after a minute I tried to squeezed by then they started to ram each other and me, I thought maybe I started the skynet wars. Were only a one or zero away.

One star is mainly for the restaurant food itself. Regardless how nice the staffs are, if the food is bad, that is end of story for the restaurant.Had Kura at Japan and Taiwan, all are average quality or slightly better. But the Kura at US is far lower than the local average quality....Salmon super lean and had no flavor, Tuna had nearly no taste and rice is overcooked and too wet. Yes the fish isnt fishy, but nor does that has any meaningful taste. For the price Id say go to any loc japanese supermarket and buy sashimi for yourself.

Kura is a conveyer-belt sushi experience which on our last visit has also introduced drink delivery robots.Are the drink robots more efficient than human waitstaff? Absolutely not. Its for the vibe.The fish feels fresh with plenty of salmon and tuna options at $2.90 an item though their carpaccio items and the sashimi bowl are even better for maximizing fish for money.Their rolls are solid, but not outstanding.Conveyer-belting food to mouth IS fun, though a quick way to run up the tab.I do think my group of friends has ever spent less than $30 a person.The rewards and coupons are indeed useful.The reward toys are a bigger draw for the kids and makes this a decent destination for kids who eat fish.Kura is a solid sushi bar, especially for groups. Getting the Kura Sushi app for the waitlist is a must, as is timing your visit.Kuras Cupertino location rarely using the online waitlist function and forcing people to sign in in person and wait for HOURS?Thats a pain that is rarely worth it, IMHO.

Had a great experience and man was it fun. The staff was polite, and added to the fun as well as very attentive. The sushi wasnt the best I have had but it was still really good. The whole process is more of an experience then just a meal. My kids enjoyed it as well.Some of the sushi combos were different in a good way. My only complaint was the tomago. It was weird almost like it was over processed. It was really cold and overly sweet. The seared meat was awesome and lastly all individually ordered items were exceptional.Thanks guys. We will be back soon.

We have been here a couple of times. I recommend this place just to experience it at least once. Kids love the delivery system and getting prizes while dumping the small plates. The food are decent and the prices reasonable.The wait can be long, you used to be able to sign up for waiting list via the app but they stopped accepting sign ups recently.

Ive only went to one boat sushi place but I didnt have a memorable experience there so I was doubtful whether this place would be good. But my friend recommended it to me so we went for lunch and boy was I glad. Tons of quality sushi and Im the kind of person who didnt like grotesque American sushi. Yeah, you heard me. The one with all the fish, sauce and horrible extra toppings. I want to focus simply on the seafood or the one main topping on a sushi. This place does then great. I forget the exact names of the sushi but we got some with eel, sea anemone, and I also ordered a small inari udon bowl.I would definitely go again once I get the money.

The overall experience of grabbing the food off the belt, ordering off the tablet at the table, and the other automated processes are fun and unique. However, the food itself was not great. Admittedly, Im not a sushi fan, but my wife is and she conceded that the quality was average at best. Also, the wait for a table was just about an hour on a Saturday night and they do not have an indoor waiting area. Worth trying once, but most likely will not be coming back.

This was the first time I had been to a revolving sushi bar and it was pretty fun. The food was very good and the service was decent. The plates kept getting stuck when we tried to take things off the belt, making it a little hard to follow the restaurant procedure. We were asked 3 times about not having the correct number of plates and we kept telling the wait staff what the issue was so we eventually just ordered from the menu instead of using the belt, which was a little disappointing. I would highly recommend the crispy rice with crab mayo appetizer.

My wife surprised me and the kids with this spot knowing I liked things like this. I was not disappointed! Ive been to plenty of sushi boat style restaurants but this was a fun alternative concept to that idea. Really enjoyed working towards earning prizes as well. Food was fresh and I believe this was my first time trying true natural wasabi instead of that green horseradish stuff they try to call wasabi everywhere else.I will certainly be returning here again when I can! Different concept of ordering your dishes and you can easily over order if you dont know how much your party can eat. Fun for the kids to see the items come out of the top conveyor belt and not all items are constantly rotating around. The wait staff was helpful in letting us order a ramen with the egg on the side due to my kids allergy. But since most rolls were already set, it is hard to ask for a customization. Balanced variety of menu items and liked saving our place in line via the app. But note that the estimated wait times are way off so be ready to get called earlier than you think.

We almost always end up here when were in the area as I cant keep the kids away from it. They love watching the different plates parade and when our orders zoom to our table. Eating in this establishment was a really fun experience. Not only are you given a variety of choices, they also encourage you to eat more by playing an interactive game they have on their menu screens at your table. You just need to eat more sushi and put your plates in the slot on the side of your table and if you put in enough plates, you get to win a prize! I have the cutest Gudetama badge thanks to this game! And when you expressly order your food, its put on a separate belt and zipped right to your table! And the service was good too. All in all, it was a good experience for me.

This was my first time at the Pleasanton location. Previously Id gone to the Los Angeles Little Tokyo restaurant a few times, so I had a standard to compare this one to.I arrived right as it opened, so I didnt deal with any wait time. There were 3 or 4 other parties seated after me and the staff had to explain the restaurant to them, so it took a little longer to receive my drink (understandable).I only ate the sushi, so I cant speak on the desserts or noodle dishes. The quality was very good. My only complaint was that their spicy tuna roll had a significantly different texture than other restaurants Ive been to. (Its my favorite roll, so Ive eaten dozens of different restaurants versions of spicy tuna roll)

Neat little place to go. It was my first time going to a revolving sushi bar. Next time heading back with the whole family to enjoy the experience. Wait staff was very attentive and had good customer service. They had a good selection of food, but would have given them 5 stars if the sushi selection was wider. Theres sushi in little covered dishes on a revolving conveyer belt. A tablet at each table that allows you to order specific things. When your order is ready, the tablet will inform you and it comes to you on a separate conveyor belt to your table. When youre done with your plate, youll slide only the red and green ones down a chute to get washed. Tablet keeps track of how many dishes youve used, your order and how long it will take to get made. You get your food in about 2 minutes from ordering, of course depending on how busy the meal time is.

This place is actually really good for what the concept is. Im gonna start with this: if you tend to eat a lot, your bill will rack up real fast. I think most dishes are $2.75, while others can be more expensive. Im in my mid-20s and I usually eat about 10-15 plates which easily goes to about $30-40. For a family of 4, expect to spend about $100 if not more. But again, Im surprised by the food offering here. They offer fatty tuna (though its a bit thin). Also the food is replenished pretty quickly (which it should) so you kind of eat incessantly, which Im sure is the point. Other than the price, I dont have many gripes about this place. Of course, I wish the wait was shorter on popular days but who can control that anywhere?

Such a fun experience every time you go. I like that there is a little prize available with the plate game and the animations for the game every 5 plates is very cute. I like that every time I go (not often) there is a different prize, from mini Lego block sushi to micro fiber cloths and I even won a tiny sticky note once. The food is decent, nothing too amazing and the quality seems to vary plate to plate. Even still, its not bad sushi. My favorite is the salmon with cream cheese. If sushi isnt your thing they have a few other options. I really like the summer salad with cucumber and watermelon as well as the tempura shrimp. Theres also nice dessert options, different mochi ice cream flavors. The milk tart was pretty good but my favorite dessert is the black sesame mochi ice cream.

We came here twice. Not sure we will go back... the concept is great but the execution is .... well I guess its supposed to be low-budget!On our first visit, it took quite a long time to get seated even though there were only two parties before us. Once we were seated, we found out that we were seated at the only table with a broken plate-counting machine, but there were so many other tables available...!! :( TBH the technology is part of the experience! Went at 2pm on a Friday afternoon, there was about a 30 minute wait.I was a little concerned about safety/sanitation with the pandemic situation. In my perception, the plates on the conveyor belt were safe from contamination (there was a plastic cover on each that easily popped off when taking the plate out).The fish and scallops were surprisingly fresh.Definitely would go again.

My go-to place for sushi! I love the concept of a rotating sushi bar with personal screens for extra orders, it makes the experience seamless and with far less interruptions from staff (as compared to most restaurants).Taste wise and variety wise, the sushi is phenomenal! In particular, I personally enjoy the seared mayo salmon nigiri, and miso cream cheese unagi nigiri. The flavors are unique and the fish fresh.The cost seems fair, with cost being around $30 per person for around 7 plates of sushi / nigiri.Highly recommend!

This place is so much fun! We just stopped by the outlets to do some quick shopping on our way through and got hungry and saw the neighboring shopping center with a hot pot place but ended up getting lured into here. It was a super fun experience ordering items on the tablet and having them zoom out to us! It was also fun to see all the options revolving around us. The plate idea was also super fun since we got a little gift after eating 15!

Kura has a decent ambiance, and for many taking food from a conveyor belt is a novelty. The wait staff are fairly consistent in their customer service. Not overly solicitous, and who wont completely ignore you either. Its a good balance. The variety of items available is the main draw, without spending too much. This place is truly a unique experience with the food on a non-stop conveyor belt for you to grab the items you like. The sushi is really good too. You can special order dishes from the tablet above your table. With this concept, there is no real need for a waiter until you pay, however, they do bring out drinks and answer questions about the ordering process. Ive been to the one in San Diego and this one is the same. The sushi is okay, nothing too special or amazing. Every 15 plates you get a prize, and most plates are $2.85. If you want the best bang for your buck, get the hand rolls. You get about 3 pieces of protein, a good helping of rice, and a lot of seaweed. I actually got the soy paper and it was amazing. The service could be better: it took a while for them to refill my water.

Each plate is $2.75!! Pretty pricey. Relatively good fish quality, however, it is very easy to spend quickly. There were even a few plates of single nigiri (only 1 piece of fish) for $2.75 (the more expensive fish). Do not expect to leave feeling full unless you plan on spending > $15 for the meal. Fun experience with enjoying sushi passing right by your table. The sushi is fresh and the hand rolls are a great value. The gatchapon prizes will definitely keep you eating until you are beyond stuffed; one prize per every 15 plates. Deducted a star as they are not always in stock of the usual items (scallops, sweet shrimp, squid, etc.) So its a coin toss if you are going for a specific craving. Overall, a good place to get some sushi if you are in the area.
