First time trying this place and honestly we didn’t expect too much because they always look kinda empty when we drive past by. We only came here because my husband was craving sushi and this place has the highest reviews in the area. Turned out we were so surprised by the quality of the food and how yummy they were. Staff were really friendly. (Although the service was a little slow) We will definitely come back here soon and recommend others to give it a try!

I really want this place to succeed, but i need to give my honest opinion as well.For the most part, this place is overall great. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is amazing as well. The food tasted fine, but overall the texture of the food is just wrong. My pork tonkotsu ramen came with large, rough chopped, hard vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, carrots, also what i think was zucchini. That itself ruin the experience of eatting the ramen. not to mention the pork they put in was a lean cut as opposed to a fatty pork belly. Dont get me wrong the soup and the noodles were on point.The other thing i have a complaint I had was my sushi. The rice was mushy as if it was cooked with too much water. My rolls fell apart as i picked them up. Heck, my crunchy roll didnt have a crunch to it. Overall it tasted fine, but for the pricing im paying, i expect a higher standard.again a good place to go to! if this place ensures their rice quality and rethinks the veggies they put into their ramen, they will be heads and shoulder above the competition in this area.oh notable things! their seaweed salad is amazing and their cucumber salad as well.

Really good service and the sushi was bomb. Had the Fire Fire roll, Rainbow roll, and some nigiri. Everything tasted really fresh and delicious. They are generous with the cuts of fish too. They have a selection of a few Japanese beers, sake, and soju. With a good happy hour on appetizers and beer/sake. The parking lot can get full during busy hours.

The food and service here is fantastic (and they have great deals). Jacob was our server and he was extremely attentive and helpful. This will be my new go-to sushi spot

My friends and I recently tried Kuro and we were all extremely happy with our experience. This is a great spot with delicious, affordable food options and a fantastic deal on beer and sake. The service is also extraordinary, we had Jacob this last time and he took great care of us. The atmosphere is nice as well with good music playing.

Overpriced sushi even though it’s says 50% off it’s really paying the regular price. The food is subpar. The quality in the food isn’t there and the service wasn’t the greatest either. All the other reviews look like mostly family members and friends. I do not recommend this place. I really dislike their business practice, unethical.

This is my favorite sushi spot. Vibes are relaxed, no fuss, with kind and personable servers. Such a great local addition to El Cajon Blvd. The jalapeño roll appetizer is delicious, but honestly everything I’ve tried has been great.

My wife and I always wanted to try this place and finally made it here. Totally enjoyed the food, beers were cold, we left happy and totally satisfied...cant wait to try the rest of their menu. The owners, a husband and wife run this restaurant, truly exemplify what running and starting a business is about...give them a try. As grateful as we were to them, they were grateful to serve us.
