My friend and I went here for lunch. Had split meal; You can get 2 orders in a double bowl. We got Black Noodles and Spicy Seafood Soup. Very reasonable price s.

Authentic Korean food, beyond the usual AYCE Korean BBQ is a wild and unexplored part of my gourmet map.I came to this place with a group of about 20, mostly Korean Americans, except for me and another friend. I was not expecting much other than not knowing what to order and went with the fried shrimp with chili sauce (which is basically the adult version of chicken nuggies and fries), and although it was a good choice in itself, it pales in comparison to the Jjajangmyun that a friend of mine allowed me to taste (I should have ordered that instead).The food is very authentic, the service is fast and efficient and the place is clean and well kept.

I ordered jajang fried rice. It was decent but nothing special. I wish it had more crispiness but it tasted healthy. Very popular place so dont expect S+ service but the employees are polite. The tangsooyuk and sweet and sour shrimp was awesome. Definitely recommend for quick bite. The Jamppong soup tastes authentic too.

Comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff working at the cashier/counter! GREAT lunch deal on the black bean noodles. As a Korean American, I often had black bean noodles since I was young, in Korea. The noodles here are very good because its not that greasy and the ingredients in the sauce also dont contain much fat. The meat pieces are delicious and the onions werent undercooked or too much. After much googling for the best jjangmyong and craving it for months, I am so glad I came down into KTown for this. Got the half-and-half (jjangmyong and jjampong), boyfriend got the mandu and Kyodang chicken. Portions are massive, very generous, the mandu and chicken could easily feed two people alone, and the half-and-half mean was larger than expected.Really glad it’s near a Metro stop, I plan on coming here often!! The plaza it’s in is lovely, even on a hot day. Very good food and enjoyable experience. Maybe a little pricy, but what isn’t these days?

Tl; dr: Food is yumz. Make sure to ask their hours if you’re placing a dinner order.Yelp says they close at 9:30 PM. Google says they close at 9 PM. Theres a sign on their door saying they close at 8 PM. They called me at 7:30 PM saying that theyre now closed.I placed a takeout order around 7 PM over the phone. I asked them how long it would take- 15 minutes or so. I get to the mall around 7:30 & as Im walking up the stairs from the parking lot, the lady calls me and almost yells, Why arent you coming? Were now closed. Oh, Im sorry, I didnt know you guys closed so early. Yelp and Google say youre open till later.. You should change it so other customers will know, too. I dont know how to do that. Theres a sign on the door letting you know that we now close at 8. How the heck is someone supposed to read that sign if theyre placing an order over the phone..? You should at least inform the customer that youre closing soon if theyre calling in near your closing time... Also your sign says you close at 8 but you call at 7:30 to say that youre now closed loll what.Their food is yumz. I got jjambbong (spicy seafood noodles) and Kyodong chicken.- Spicy noodles are SPICY. Yummy spicy, but also my scalp is sweating spicy. Lots of veggies + seafood. Them gundugies yass- Chicken was fried well & sauce is savory. Not the typical KFC style (neither Kentucky nor Korean) but typical tangsooyook style, if you know what that is--smooth coat. Chicken comes with Korean style coleslaw.Everything was packaged individually to prevent from getting soggy- they put the noodles and soup separately in their own bowl & also give condiments in a separate container. Chicken & sauce are packaged separately, as well. The containers are either plastic or styrofoam, for yall environmentally conscious folks (which we should all be... ice burgs are melting fast yall).Overall theyre one of the first restaurants that pop up in my head when Im craving for some jjamppong & fried chicken. Like, not mind blowing enough to make an Insta or blog post about them, but i might tweet. Not a thread though. Just a single tweet.They also have a few seats outside so you can eat there (theyll still give everything in take out containers), which I really dont recommend during this time.Also, they have this cool little machine by the entrance that can take your temperature & recognize whether youre wearing a mask or not. If you arent, it will shout NO MASK DETECTED repeatedly for everyone to hear. Be good & wear a mask (I know it does that bc when I was trying to take a picture of the thing & my phone covered a portion of my face, it thought I wasnt wearing a mask. It stopped yelling when I put away my phone).The lady was visibly cranky when I entered the restaurant (I had apologized on the phone already, although ummm its not my fault that their hours online & their own sign are all wrong and they didnt even inform me they were closing earlier than all of these). I courteously advised the lady to change their hours on Yelp & Google out of of the desire that they wont run into this problem again but she was frowning as she told me what I quoted above. Lol ok...I know everyones struggling & I support local mom + pop businesses, but well... I dont know if Ill be able to do that 100% gladly for this particular restaurant going forward. Service is still important. I know things are tough, & i think that should be the driver for everyone to be extra kind, including customers and business owners. Im sure you wont experience what I did if you order well before their closing time, though, and when the lady is in a good mood. I’m not writing about what happened to sabotage anyone. Still giving them 4 stars for the quality of food.

Ive been to this place many times; Ive tried quite a few dishes. Sadly things had changed for the worst: food n service. JJAMPPONG is still edible but still bland n nothing stands out. Shy torally away from JJAJANGMYUN & Kyodong Chicken. --they taste pretty BAD!!

Got the vegetarian Dan Dan Kyodong Noodles at Madang. Good if you like that spicy vinegar-y sauce. Get the Chengdu if you prefer the Kyodong Noodles at Madang with a sesame paste and spicy sauce! Going back. They do Kyodong Noodles at Madang well.

It is made according to the recipe of Gyodong Jjamppong, one of Koreas top three jjamppongs, and contains plenty of seafood and vegetables such as squid, king prawns, and clams, and the portions of all menu items are very generous.For those who cant eat spicy food, I highly recommend Ulppong rather than Jjamppong! Awesome 😋 I mainly eat ulppong. It was surprising that it came out exceptionally quickly today, but the noodles were dry and the soup wasnt hot. The jjamppong soup is also sour. A staff member passed by and asked if the noodles had been boiled or if the kitchen had changed and he said no. And passed by. If a customer complains about something about the food, shouldnt you say sorry? Originally, I was going to finish it, but I left everything behind.

Among the employees taking orders, there was a man with long hair and a hat! This person is really very kind and quickly catches the movements of the customers and provides very fast service. I am a middle-aged person who loves Chinese food. Its been a while since I came to LA, and Ive been going around and trying Chinese restaurants. It seems difficult to find delicious food in Korea. However, after coming to Lee Man-gus Gyodong Jjamppong and eating there, I dont think I need to go anywhere else in LA anymore. Jjajangmyeon is okay. The sauce is also thick. Jjamppong, if I may dare to say it, is the best Jjamppong Ive had in LA. Even compared to Korea, it is a good Jjamppong.Plus, everyone working there is very friendly. There were some bad things in the comments below, so I was worried, but it was a needless worry. I think Ill only come here for LA Chinese food.^^

I think Jjajangmyeon is the best in Gyodong! I heard that you just came to the US from Korea~ I think you can taste the Jjajangmyeon that you used to eat in Korea! Ulppongs sea cucumber water is really fresh, protein, and delicious. The price is also satisfactory!

At some point, the jjamppong got really spicy, and it seemed like they only added a little bit of seafood. The ingredients were poor, so it felt like they were trying to fill it with spiciness rather than the flavor of the soup.
