Kyoto’s Japanese Market is a family-owned small business located at the same corner location since the 1970s. My mom and her friends used to shop there for hard to find Japanese food. Recently, I’ve been dropping in bi-monthly for traditional sushi rolls that you don’t ever find at a sushi restaurant. They only make them on Fridays and Saturdays I believe. It is a very small but immaculately clean market that carries the essentials for basic Japanese cooking. I appreciate how items like the vegetables are neatly wrapped and displayed. It’s not in the abundance but in the care and display that goes into each individual item. Very Japanese and very ZEN.

I love this place, i only wish i had found it sooner! they sell sushi on fri & sat and its so good and reasonably priced. tons of foods, snacks and drinks. their seaweed salad and sashimi is so good

This store is pretty small, but employees were very friendly and helpful. I wasnt able to find okonomiyaki flour at a larger market, but they had it at Kyotos, so we were all happy!

Love this place. Never knew they were here, but glad I found it. Shopped there a few months to get things I would have to drive to San Diego to get. The workers are friendly and willing to help you out if you have questions about products.

The freshly made sushi, by real Japanese ladies, was awesome as always. We got some red bean rolls and some fish cake, too. Kyotos Japanese Market has very reasonable prices and all the staples to make Japanese cuisine.

When I moved to Oceanside, I was in search for a store to buy sushi making ingredients, I was so glad when I found Kyoto’s. I’ve been shopping here for over 3 years usually coming every other week for more sushi stuff and ramen. I loved the fresh produce, especially the Japanese cucumbers which I couldn’t find anywhere locally but there. The family that works there were always friendly and kind to me. I’ve since moved back home to Florida, but I will miss this place so much.

Nice little Japanese market in Oceanside. I didn’t really want to drive all the way to San Diego.So Having a little JapaneseStore near by is nice. I bought someJapanese soup sauce, nori sheets, and frozen tokoyaki. And the kids wanted Japanese snacks so we bought mochi and some other okashi.

The store is awesome! Many Japanese products that you may not in Asian markets but the bonus is that they carry Hawaiian products! They have my favorite drink, POG from Hawaiian Sun along with a variety of other flavors. They even have Poi in the freezer section!

Its a small family owned shop specializing in Japanese foods and snacks. Started serving sushi a little over a year ago. Does not have a huge selection like Daiso but it does have decent prices and friendly service. Been coming here for years and will continue to do so because its always been a pleasant experience.

Love this little Mom & Pop shop! I love everything they have there for my Japanese cravings. And the prices are very good, they also have some Japanese veggies like cucumber, kabocha and veggie seeds. A small family owned store. The employees are very friendly and the store is clean and well organized. They have really good, reasonably priced sushi made from morning to afternoon. The store itself is small but for the size, selection is great.

This place is awesome! Family-owned business and you can meet the family while youre in there and they have all the Japanese goodies you can imagine. My girlfriend just went down there today and got some sushi. I dont think they sell samurai swords but you can go somewhere else to buy one of those. Haha go down and check it out if youve never been there

Great spot for a decent, but understandably limited selection of key japanese and oriental ingredients. While you may not find a variety of what youre looking for to compliment your home cooked meal (i.e. 10 different types of dashi), youll still find what you need at reasonable, if not lower than competitor prices.

The place is big, but there are only 3 isles. They have most basic Japanese cooking essential ingredients. Theres also some fresh produces like daikon, burdock root, and cabbage. The sushi is freshly made and they taste so good (compete with restaurant quality) for affordable price. They provide disposable gloves and handsanitezer at the door.

Best little Japanese grocery store in North County. Very clean. They even make sushi and poki bowls to order. Family owned and very nice. Not a big selection but covers the basics and I dont have to drive all the way to Mira Mesa or Temecula until I need more odd ball stuff.

Cool little Japanese market in Oceanside. We dont have a lot of dedicated Japanese stores in North county, but this one is pretty good. Be advised that it is not a full grocery store, but rather a Japanese convenience store. Delicious Japanese snacks are in abundance, and even some produce and meats, just keep in mind its more like a corner market or convenience store than a grocery store.

I get all my sushi supplies from these guys. Its a small store but they are very helpful with what to use and even explain how to do or cook specific dishes. Love this place, and the customer service is like you are not in America. That means its great. Thank you

Awesome little store. Not much of a selection, but it has most of the things youll need in a pinch. The employees are really nice. I wished more people would come here so they can expand the store some more.Its a 10 minute walk if you take the Sprinter and get off at the Crouch St. Station.

Kyotos is a saviorWhen Im feeling nostalgic or just want to get some supplies for cooking my favorite Japanese, Korean or Hawaiian dishes, I stop here. Who am I kidding? Im there each weekend. Their japanese cucumbers are a staple at my house, the cabbage is sweeter than the market, and they have out favorite snacks. I dont have a meat slicer at home so my thin sliced beef and pork can only be had there. It might look small, but it has what you need!

A real diamond for getting ingredients for cooking all things Japanese. The staff is very friendly, the produce is fresh. We found things that you would have to drive to LA J-town for! We used to drive all the way from Vista to Mitsuwa in Kearny Mesa. No longer. Great job Kyotos!

My in laws have been going here for a while...we went in for the first time today because we wanted some REAL katsu sauce for my grandmother in laws recipe of Japanese curry tonight. Kyoto’s Japanese Market is tucked away one block off Oceanside Blvd on Greenbrier Dr. in Oceanside. The Market is owned by brother and sister Chris Ray and Shannon Walker. They are the third generation to run the business.I have fond memories of going here with my Mom for lunch on our walks home from Best Department Store* when I was a kid.At that time they had a deli counter and I would get my favorite sandwich (which is still one of my favorites to this day and I can credit them for introducing me to it) a Turkey with pepper Jack cheese on sourdough.Though they no longer have a deli, they now serve fresh Sushi daily.If your looking for some Japanese ingredients for cooking, supplies for a sushi party, or a nice fresh inexpensive lunch, check them out.

This is an oasis in the desolate wasteland of Japanese stores in north country. If you cant get down to Mitsuwa or Marukai, this is the only option you have. That being said, its a very small and very boring store. It has just the basic goods of a Japanese market. It feels more like a Japanese konbini than anything. I think the place would do much better if they put some effort into the look.

You can get a variety of Japanese ingredients. All of them are ones that I wish were highly selected.Its a very clean store.I had sushi and daifuku, but I think they are handmade daifuku. It was soft and very delicious.
