La Cabaita in Glendale

Tasty Mexican restaurant on verdugo! Quick, and prompt. No outdoor seating, and not dog friendly (understandably!). We were recommended to them by our friend who also recently moved to the area from west la. We have been missing some of the quality, taste, and access to great food. This spot seemed to be closer to the level of quality/taste that we experienced in LA proper. The restaurant is sandwiched between some more car repair shops; easy to miss when driving down the street! There is some limited curb side parking out front. Be aware to turn your wheels into the curb when parking to ensure you don’t have issue with the incline. Apparently the police do monitor and cite this commonly. The restaurant had signs all over to warn its patrons of the ticketing. Salsa was tasty. Food was fresh. They have a large bar, and two large dining sections. Busy, but no wait. We ordered take out, they quoted 10 min, and it was ready in that window. Most of the staff was very attentive, and friendly. They asked if we needed cutlery or anything else to enjoy our take out. We will be back!

My friend and I had a great experience here. The Sopes three ways were delicious. The waitress was super helpful in finding vegan options for my friend. He had the vegetarian burrito and a cactus salad (both of which he enjoyed). Hot tip; if you want a spicy margarita I recommend you order a double house margarita and have them add a jalapeño and tajin on the rim. Youll get double the margarita for the same price as a the spicy special one which I thought was too sweet.

We came for lunch and ordered a chicken quesadilla and a red pork tamale. The tamale dough was nice, the filling was slightly sweet. I prefer a more spicy filling.The quesadilla was amazing though. Perfectly cooked, melty cheese, chicken was moist. The sides were yummy and paired perfectly as well.The service was great and the decor is nice and colorful. The prices are great too.

Surprised with all of the 5 star reviews. Their food was just not good. Super bland and lacked flavor. I got the beef enchiladas and they were terrible. Boiled beef, in-between soggy tortillas and very little cheese, very little sauce. I make better enchiladas at home. I could not finish it. I did like the black beans though. Rice was horrible too and zero flavor and soggy. The waiter was cranky and could not keep up. He forgot half of what we asked for, some other younger guy had to step in multiple times. The place needs some attention too. Dirty, sticky tables and just looks run down and not in a esthetically pleasing way either.

Enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight! The servers were friendly, attentive, and remembered the little details of our orders. Wide selection of items on their menu, including classic items and dishes that are not found on most menus, like mole. The kids and parents were all happy with their meals. Adults enjoyed their margaritas. It seems that they have yummy options for breakfast and lunch, too.You can hop on the waitlist via Yelp. There is seating for small and large parties. Be sure to visit this neighborhood gem!

Service was excellent. Ambience was not bad. The food was very mediocre, though. Their cucumber jalapeño margarita was not so refreshing—just spicy! And, their quesadilla with chicken was salty. But, their street tacos were decent.

This place knows what they are doing. Do they have a little old grandma back there making the food? Im glad they arent closer because I would be here all of the time. They have ruined Mexican food at other places.Food was fresh, well seasoned, and they used the right kind of cheese on their dishes. I am in love with their salsas. They bring chips and two different salsas to your table while you wait and they were amazing. They have vegetarian and vegan options that are tasty, like a black bean taco on a made from-scratch tortilla. I had the chilaquiles at breakfast time with a fried egg on top. Their sauce is definitely homemade and was delicious. The portions were generous and I left completely satisfied.The servers were great and attentive, my husband said one of the servers is the owners son. I think our other server was the daughter. They have family pride of ownership and it shows. I highly recommend coming here. Now whenever I get a craving for Authentic Mexican food, I think of this place first. The prices were right too, you get what you pay for, quality, freshness, and great service.

This is our go to local restaurant for an authentic Mexican breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have a varied menu so theres something for everyones palate. Ive always experienced great service and the ability to make reservations or join the wait-list on Yelp makes it easy to keep coming back to try different items on the menu.

Would not recommend at all. went in solely based off the reviews and i regret trusting google. they seated us in the main dining room as they had closed off the other rooms(probably because the waiters didn’t want to walk a few extra feet and serve others seated elsewhere). the tables were small and we felt cramped sitting next to everyone else. there was no atmosphere and the waiters looked depressed and annoyed working. the food was basic greasy and overpriced. there was stuff floating in the cups of water too, yikes. sorry mom i took you to this subpar restaurant on your birthday.

I went in for a burrito for take out before lunch and it was delicious, next time Ill be dining in because the restaurant is beautiful it is decorated very nice. Cant wait to go in for dinner and drink some margaritas
