2023-04-28 05:07:53Fantastic shrimp aguachile and a really good grilled chicken super burrito. We are definitely going back. Next time I want to try the nachos. The food is fresh with large portions. Service was excellent and we enjoyed sitting outside despite being close to the train tracks. For this kind of food, we can ignore the train.

2023-02-03 00:22:43We ordered a fried fish taco for each person, one order of the mamalones (steak and cactus), and the shrimp nachos. Every dish and bite was great. The fried fish tacos were our favorites here, with perfectly crispy batter and tender fish. A must-try when in Redwood City.Edit:I went back for the first time in a while and ordered the fish tacos. The best in the Bay Area. Tried something new and ordered the mamalones (breaded steak and cactus) on top of super nachos. You gotta try this dish!

2023-02-09 05:59:04Delicious taco shop in downtown RWC. Their special tacos were definitely our favorite, though the pastor tacos were good too. Theres indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Street parking nearby.

2022-07-27 22:50:09This is our favorite Mexican food in Redwood City! First of all, many dishes have amazing hand-made tortillas. The flavors are bright and bold, and all ingredients are extremely fresh. The service is always good. I prefer to dine-in, as every dish comes out hot and on nice plates. If you are coming for the first time, I would highly recommend the Los Mamalones as your first item. This is a large hand made tortilla, topped with strips of crispy beef, spicy potatoes, cheese, nopales, and a delicious green salsa. Its amazing!Other items that we feel are exceptional are the fish and shrimp tacos, gorditas, cochinita tacos, and their large mixed plate. My wife also loves their Burritos, but I would definitely recommend trying some of their more unique items first.

2023-01-11 22:01:43La Cocina de la Abuela is a genuine and modest Mexican restaurant with classic dishes like burritos and tacos and hard to find dishes like gorditas. Their portions are plentiful just like a traditional meal from your abuelitas.

2021-06-29 23:51:46I loved their regular Burrito w Pastor / grilled marinated pork for about $10. Comes with a nice spicy sauce on the side. Didnt come with nachos though. Had it for take out but they have a nice outdoor seating area. Definitely coming back.

2023-09-28 21:27:49Our waitress was so sweet and kind. The menu isnt marked for gluten free items, and the grill space is a little small, so I ordered the ceviche to ensure no gluten cross-contamination. The food feels very authentic and well prepared. I had real uncooked shrimp diced and marinated with citrus to my desired spice level. Some places will put pre-cooked salad shrimp with some veg and lime and call it ceviche--not here! My lunching mate had a torte, and it was very well portioned. Not sure if theres a wrong answer to the menu here!
