Amazing food!!! I absolutely recommend you check it out. We love the lamb shank, and beef with onions dishes. Fantastic. Also give their sangria a try, it’s so fruity and refreshing that I have to get it every time I go! Check them out, you won’t be disappointed

It has been difficult finding a Peruvian Restaurant. I used to live in Peru and have been craving Peruvian food for years! Its either the food does not taste authentic or it is too expensive when finding one here.La Huaca has met my expectations and cravings. The service was quick- our waitress gave us plenty of time to order and our food came out within 15-20 minutes. It was affordable and the taste was there. It gave me flashbacks! Pachamanca was one of my favorite dishes while living in Peru and they did a great job making it.The restaurant itself is vibrant with plenty of seating. They were still building the bar area during the time we went. Highly recommend if you have not had Peruvian food.

We were able to sit at the bar for food and drink service without a reservation, which was a relief since the wait time for a table was 30-40 minutes. Make a reservation for weekend dinner service!Food was outstanding, great ambiance and decor, and live music was playing which was a nice added touch. Bar service was a little slow, but it was a busy Friday night, so understandable.Would/will definitely go back!

I hope this place stays around for a while! What a gem. Hostess was very kind and welcoming, seated right away. It took our server a little longer than normal to come and get drinks started, but the rest of the experience made up for that. Our server Jose was very kind and had a lot of knowledge about items on the menu. The food was delicious and I loved all of the details that went into the food presentation. The complementary bread they serve with the chimichurri sauce was warm and delicious. The chicken empanadas were nice and hot. The paella was delicious and is definitely shareable with someone. My mom got the pescado lo macho which was also very good. We took home dessert as well. They also had live music! I hope they get their liquor license soon (beer and wine only), I can only imagine their drinks would be great. Overall I would definitely be back!

Went here on a whim to try something new. We definitely were not disappointed. We ordered 2 appetizers and two entrees. The Leche de Tigre was very, very salty ( I recognize its a ceviche type dish, but the saltiness went beyond the lime/lemon juice). That said, we ate it with the Yucca Frites and it was just what it needed to really bring out the flavor. The texture of the seafood was incredible. The calamari in it was a delight. The arroz con pollo was some of the best Ive ever had. While the salmon dish was good, it wasnt something we would order again. It wasnt special, so if you are just looking for a decent salmon, go for it! Overall, we had a great experience.

First time at La Huaca, and the first thing I notice is that the tables have tablecloth. Nothing symbolizes good dining like a clean tablecloth. Besides the food is tasty, well prepared and delicious. Nice atmosphere and excellent service. Kudos for the chef for the delicious Sopa de Pollo, wished they had it on the menu. This was courtesy of our waiter.

Ive ordered the lomo saltado before and its always good! This time, I actually ate in the restaurant and got the anticuchos, and they were just as good! The service was also impeccable. Yessy was a wonderful waitress. Super helpful and attentive! The restaurant was also beautiful! Little slice of Peru! Loved it all and will continue to get food here, and I plan to visit the restaurant again.

Tried the buffet for our first experience but sadly we wont return There was ample selection in the salad bar but all of the hot food was chewy and monotonous. Beans and beef stew were the most flavorful. Dessert was tiny little plastic cups of cinnamon topped servings I also didnt care for. Asked for hot sauce and brought an aoli type cream. I dont know much about Peruvian food but if this is an ideal representation I would never want to eat in Peru. Unfortunately the buffet isnt very functional theres nowhere to set your plate difficult to open the lids although they try to help which gives them credit for being helpful and polite but just not anyting Id want to eat again. It was all so warm and stuffy inside; they needed to turn on a fan.

Greeted with smiles and my husband’s service dog was greeted with smiles and was referred to by her name through the whole lunch. Our waiter, I don’t remember his name, but definitely a very eloquent and attentive waiter.The buffet that we chose was reasonably priced. There was a lot of meat choices and for a meat lover I was very pleased.Give the restaurant a try as they’ve only been there nine months.

Trying something new…I’ve never had Peruvian food before and although my experience is fairly limited since I only ordered an appetizer. I’m excited to come back and try a little bit of everything next time I come with a group of people.LaHuaca is in the process of establishing a lunch buffet which I am highly anticipating but for now, I’ll try the Empanada Sampler.For the Empaneda sampler, I had the Carne, Pollo and Chorizo for $15.95 The total after tax but before tip came to $17.19The portion seems pretty small for the price but I’m starting to come to the expectation that is the norm for these days 😞The soup was complimentary to my order. I can’t pronounce the name of it but it’s a chicken vegetable soup with peas, carrots, celery, onion and jasmine rice amongst other things. Very delicious 😋I tried the chicken empanada first. The crust was light and flakey. It was jam packed with chicken and a little mozzarella chz. The flavor was pretty bland tho w/o the mixture of ketchup & mayo that was served along side for dipping.Next I tried the Chorizo empanada. Much more flavorful than the chicken. You don’t even need to dip it in the sauce. Again the crust was light and flakey. It was stuffed full of all kinds of goodness 😋 Pork Chorizo, pineapple, cilantro and red pepper. I definitely recommend ordering this as an appetizer.Finally, I tried the Carne empanada. Again the crust was consistent with the other two. The flavor was just as amazing as the pork chorizo empanada but different in flavor. The slow cooked beef w/ onion accompanied with the sweet and salty flavors of raisins and olives really set this one off as one of my top 2 favorites of the 3.

1/5 service, 5/5 food Let me explain.My partner and I got there around 7pm on a Thursday and there are six to seven tables seated. We ask for a table of two and the host asks us if we have a reservation. After we reply no, she goes on telling us how we should make reservations because of how busy it gets on the weekends (again, its Thursday). We then stand in silence as if she was expecting us to leave because of how busy they are. She then reluctantly goes to check the more than half empty restaurant to see where she can sit us. We finally go to our seat and we are ready to order within the first five minutes. I can see the host talking to a server and very not subtly pointing at us literally 5ft away from us. The server then just walks past us. 10 min after we get seated, that server comes to ask us for drinks and tells us our actual server will be coming to take our orders shortly. Another 10 min passes and we are contemplating if we should just leave cuz their service is so off-putting and they clearly dont want us here. The same server finally comes back and asks for our order cuz the actual server in charge of our table was too busy or something. The food actually came relatively quickly, 10-15min. It was a little odd that we got the entree, then hot app, then cold app but thats fine.Now the good part. The beef heart was absolutely fantastic. Im not big on organ meat, but my god their skewered beef hearts made me want to try beef hearts at more restaurants. The lamb shank was very tender and keeps the somewhat gamey taste of lamb that some ppl really like, some dont, so just go in with that expectation. The rice and beans with the lamb shank were weirdly delicious as well. I usually dont think much of those sides but man I may have liked those more than the lamb itself. We also got the Classic ceviche, which was very punchy with their citrus, in a good way. The fish tasted fresh, and the fried nuts (?) added a very nice change in texture and earthiness to the dish. The cook on all of the different ingredients were perfect, and the flavors were all balanced. I havent had Peruvian food before, but the food here made me have much greater appreciation and respect for it.The kitchen staff here is doing wonders but that host lady, possibly the owner, is so frustrating and off putting. I would highly recommend this place for take out as the food is delicious but the service is awful.

Going to La Huaca is not just a place to go to get great food, but it is an experience! We are treated so well there every time we go! The food, the kindness of staff members and the cute little Peruvian store inside the restaurant made us feel like we were actually in Peru. Jose, our waiter, remembered us from our last visit including what we ordered, what language our son is learning (Latin) and so much more! We feel so welcomed every time we go there, and now consider the people there as family. I would definitely recommend taking a step into our own little local Peru! You won’t regret it!

The food and the staff were both fantastic. The food was delicious just as it was aesthetically pleasing to look at. Our waiter Lalo was also kind and attentive. I appreciated how informative he was about the menu. I am not too familiar with Peruvian cuisine but his descriptions were helpful towards making my decision on what to order. Everyone that interacted with us from entering the restaurant to leaving were beyond kind and welcoming. Thank you also to the hostess for offering to take a picture of us. They came out beautiful. I have eaten here twice, both times I have received raw chicken. After the first time which was about a month ago, I figured it was just a bad day and I got a little sick but I saw positive reviews come through and thought let’s to try it again. Second visit, same issue and they never did anything about it besides tell me that I can swap it out for something else but when I refused because I was disgusted, they still charged me full price for the plate. I’ll never eat here again and this is just bad service. I don’t buy the positive reviews either.. starting to question if they are legit.

Yummy yummy for our tummies! We hit up @la_huaca_peruvian_cuisine for the first time last night, and it was delicious! Jessy was our server and was just a doll! I had the Salmon La Huaca dish (probably shouldnt have had the sauce while on my detox...I paid for it!), and Kristian had the Pachamanca La Huaca (beef and pork, steamed potatoes, sweet potatoes, hominy, and choclo). We will definitely be back once I am off this detox! Yum yum! If youre in the area and havent been, try it out!

Always a fan of ethnic cuisines and was excited to learn that this restaurant offered and all you can eat lunch option. I was told it was $17.99 for the lunch buffet (no other price was given at the time). I thought it was a fair price. So my wife and I invited some friends and had planned to have lunch on Suanday. We met with our friends and proceeded to be seated. The buffet bars main entree section had 3 soup dishes, 4-5 meat options, a few seafood options, and rice. Not bad for $17.99. Well... come to find out from our server, on Sundays, the buffet is $34.99! Yes, theres a salad bar and a few dessert items. However, for a casino buffet price, I would expect a few more options. We ended up just ordering from the menu. I ordered the chicken with rice and fries. The chicken was dry to the palate, but the sauce used in the dish made it palpable. Times are hard for everyone financially. Definitely not a place someone can take their family for a weekend lunch buffet or dine in for that matter.

My first time ever being to this place apparently my fiance knew it existed for many years but we just never made our way out there to go see it I wish we had done it earlier honestly where are the best Peruvian places in Sacramento, Ive never been to a real Peruvian restaurant only on food trucks but that doesnt change anything about the food, its still good there but apparently this restaurant has been here for a very long time I dont remember how long but its very tucked away in Roseville off of Douglas I would never know it existed. its on a road full of companies and vacant buildings for companies anyways the inside was very nice clean welcoming very open space the decor is very nice and clean it was very friendly very welcoming. my fiance is more experience with Peruvian so I let her order a couple of the things like our beer which was amazing Ive never had a Peruvian beer like this. it was very smooth with a clean taste and 4.5% which I really like. I dont exactly remember the name of our dishes but my lady got coconut rice steak red onions and Roman tomatoes and fries with their seasoning and spices the meat was extremely tender and had a beautiful Smokey flavor to it I got this chicken peanut sauce dish not realizing what to expected with a chicken peanut sauce when the dish arrived my chicken was tossed in this yellow sauce and no peanuts to be found, I figured the peanuts are in the actual sauce itself it seemed like it was a Hollandaise sauce that was wrapped around all the chicken with potatoes underneath and a side of coconut rice it was the juiciest chicken breast Ive ever had most places that have shredded chicken is dry to the Bone this was not. the chicken was amazing and I got a side of their hot tahin sauce which blew my mind I love trying new food and new chillies from different countries this one was spicy and Smoky and smooth all at once if youve never had Peruvian food you definitely have to come here first and check it out what it really should taste like thank you for taking the time to read my review have a good one.😎

I took my son for his 31 birthday today and we had a most wonderful lunch. We found this Peruvian jewel of a restaurant recently. The food was outstanding and very authentic. We should know because we are from Peru. Our server, Yessy, was the best. She was wonderful and very nice. She even got the idea of putting the Inca hats on the two of us. She made this birthday celebration for my son a most memorable one. Thank you Huaca for having employees like Yessy. 👌🏾👏

Our family loves La Huaca! Their new location on Douglas is so nice. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and fun. We love the Sunday lunch buffet and enjoy going there Mon-Fri for the weekly buffet for lunch breaks. My favorite dish is the lomo saltado or their rotisserie chicken, with a glass of maracuya (passion fruit) or Inca cola. We have never been disappointed in the food though, its always so delicious! Yessy has been our server a couple of times and she is the best; so sweet, so kind, and lets us know when they are upcoming fun family events (like live music!). This place is a gem and I highly recommend!

This is a hidden gem. We were fans of their old location and were excited to see them expand. I am a very picky eater, and I eat like a 5 year old. My husband ordered 8 dishes for a small family gathering, and I kid you not, I ate AND liked all 8 dishes. We have been to their new location 3 times now. I will say my only 2 complaints are that the ladies at the front desk arent very friendly and the language barrier is hard. Second, they dont serve alcohol yet, but I think thats because they are working on getting their licenses. A glass of wine would go perfectly with their amazing food. All of our servers have been lovely, and we cant wait to come back.

Great good, great flavors and great service. I was craving Peruvian food and this place was recommended to me so I went and ordered various dishes and my family and I really loved what we ordered! I highly recommend the Ceviche Clasico, the Causas, Lomo Saltado, Jalea Mixta and the Arroz Chaufa de Pollo. We will definitely go back to try other dishes! Also, it was fun to celebrate a birthday there because they bring you Inca style hats to wear and a tambourine to sing happy birthday!

Peruvian food is a well-recognized cuisine in the world, and La Huaca honors this replicating so well those so loved mix of flavors using high quality of ingredients!! We were looking for Peruvian food in Northern CA but we did not find anything good. Service was top, the ambient was nice and well decorated. We loved everything we tried, since the warm bread with chimichurri sauce they serve as complimentary, the empanadas, the Lomo Saltado and Aji de Gallina, and the Creme Brule of Chirimoya and 3 leches desserts. We also bought alfajores in their store. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.

Came in for the buffet. They offered 3-4 chicken entrees, one fish entree, a couple types of rice, broth/soup, salad bar and two types of dessert. The passionfruit mousse was great, the other dessert was a jelly in a cup sprinkled with cinnamon. The service was wonderful, the food was good but I noticed that the water was not filtered. Needless to say we will not be returning until that issue is resolved.

Its one of the only places I have been to in the states that does one of the best cocktails around, pisco sour. If you arent sure what flavor you want, get a sampler flight! Such a delicious treat. Ive been here numerous times, and the experience is, to sum it up, inconsistent. The very first time I came here with my parents the food was good. I think the best dish at this place is the lomo saltado. The meat is tender and seasoned well, and its as close as youre going to get to a traditional Peruvian food.This time around, I was more than disappointed.For starters, the restaurant was clearly short-staffed. There wasnt anyone to greet us at the door, and a group of people was waiting at the door. This group had a reservation, and it still took around ten minutes to seat them. Once we were seated, we were greeted by a very friendly waiter (George), and ordered appetizers and drinks. Our drinks came fairly quickly. The maracuyà and maracuyá sour were delicious. That was probably the highlight of our meal. Our appetizers took some time to arrive, which was acceptable since they were busy. We got a causa limeña and papa a la huancaína. The causa had little stuffing, and it boiled down to just potato and quinoa. The papa had little flavor.It took over thirty minutes for our main dishes to arrive, and by this time the crowd had died down. The food was hardly warm, so Im not sure if it had been sitting there and no one had bothered giving it to us. We ordered fettuccine a la crema del pesto con churrasco, arroz chaufa con puerco (pork), and aji de gallina. The quality of the meal was disappointing. The noodles didnt have a distinct pesto flavor, and the meat did not have enough seasoning. The arroz was good, but the meat was chewy. The aji lacked a strong flavor and tasted a little soggy.If you want a traditional Peruvian meal, this is not the place for you. They focus more on presentation and coming off as fancy Peruvian cuisine, thus sacrificing the authentic flavor of the dishes that they offer.

If you are looking for something different, I recommend this quaint little Peruvian gem. Just re-opened for indoor dinning. Very friendly and helpful wait staff.We started with the ceviche classic and papas a la huancaina to start. The ceviche can be ordered mild, medium or spicy. Tasted like caramel and brown sugar. What a unique flavor, I would go back just for the ice-cream.

Absolutely delicious! The food here is very authentic. It is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. I’ve tried various items on the menu and they range from the worst being “good” to the best items being “excellent!” The staff is very friendly and the dining area is aesthetically pleasing and has a nice ambience.I highly recommend getting the ceviche as an appetizer.

Great place! Food was just perfect - not too heavy, not too fried, authentic and also healthy! Size of the portions was a bit too large for the European customers, but we took the left overs home. I highly recommend their Sea food dish as a starter and try the Lamb shank for the main course! Wait stuff was friendly and helpful and the ambiance was very pleasant. This was my favorite restaurant! I love Peruvian food. Something changed in the food. The food is dry. It doesn’t taste as delicious as it used to. The servers are super slow. They take a long time to come and take your order. Once they do it takes even longer to get your drink and even longer time to get the food. I used to drive all the way from South Sac just to enjoy this restaurant. Food is over priced and just okay now.

First time there was fantastic! Its a business casual type restaurant but it has a great environment! The regional Peruvian food is amazing and wonderfully cooked and seasoned. Went here for mothers day. It was extremely busy, which is to be expected. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great, and the service was outstanding. Only thing I noticed was, that they didnt seem to be ready for mothers day. They were struggling to find enough menus for everyone, but the restaurant wasnt even completely full. There was also this noise that I believe was from a mixer of some sort. That aside, the overall experience was great. Would definitely come here again.

I ordered a huge bowl filled with rice, chicken, shrimp, & calamari, which was seasoned with a wonderful sweet sauce which also woke my taste buds right up. Ill have enough for two more meals. In a word. Service. Drinks were brought in a timely manner. And apps too. However, when it came to the entrees, 2 other tables sat down after us, yet finished their food before ours even came. Had to ask for updates several times. The answer was always the same...5 minutes. The food was good, but not complicated enough to justify the one hour wait. The only conclusion is they forgot to put it in originally, but never admitted that fact. The frosting on the cake was that it was in the evening, outdoor seating only, and freezing cold out. This made for an unpleasant experience. No attempt was made to rectify this situation. Nothing offered such as a dessert. And nothing offered to be taken off the bill. Needless to say, I wont be coming back here again.

This may be one of the best restaurants in the Granite Bay-Roseville area. Its truly a hidden gem in a field of chain restaurants and average food.First, the service is incredible. All of the staff is kind and immediately attentive. We especially appreciate Yessy who took great care of us last time.Second, the food and drinks are always good. When my wife and I returned from a trip to Peru, we craved ceviche and lomo saltado, and thats how we discovered this restaurant. It absolutely satisfied that craving. Very good food! The waiter was really sweet too. I had gotten the yuca relleno appetizer, which I decided to order in spite of the dipping sauce not being available today. They were pretty good, but wish I had the sauce to try with them. I also got the tilapia dish. It was good, but I think after the fried yucca, the fried fish was too much. Veggies were tasty and the sauce on the fish was like a creamy pesto. I look forward to returning to try the other menu items! Love the decor also.

Tried this beef off a friends plate and it was amazing while the fish on my plate was dry and bland. The rice was pretty good too. Server was...inexperienced to say the least.Warning: you get the same amount of Yucca fries as appetizer in the lunch combo ($13.95 for appetizer, entree and drink) as off the main menu ($5). Which is 4 fries at $1.25 each and we learned afterwards that they serve Yucca fries at their buffet.

We didnt realize that they were not taking to go orders and it was reservation only, not to mention absolutely packed! In todays COVID19 structure, everything was pretty good. They have a nice tent outside in the parking lot with several tables, lights and music to add to the ambiance. The waiter was attentive, and quick with order and getting food out. What separated it from a 4 star to five star experience was the portion size. I ordered the classic ceviche, regular size, but when it showed up, I thought maybe they messed up the order and gave me a small. It was not what Im accused to for that price. It was good and the spice was perfect. It left my lips feeling the spice for at least an hour after I finished. Next time Ill see how the Lomo Saltado is!

Our waiter Lalo was very personable, patient, and helpful... explaining what things were to first time visitors and helping out with gluten-free options. The food was so tasty! We need to go back soon to try other things on the menu. My boyfriend and I shared the pachamanca tres carnes meal which was beautiful and a good amount to fill us both up (If you are not great at trying new foods, this is still unique and Peruvian but not too out there). My brother lived in Peru for two years and he loved the food as well, it is true Peruvian cuisine! The service is great and the place is beautiful. Prices are higher, but the quality is great and it is worth it! Highly recommend.
