I enjoy this location for its indoor/outdoor seating and parking availability. My go-to breakfast sandwich is the chipotle scramble biscuit with a big hot cup of cafe de olla. They also offer many delicious iced coffee options as well as cold brew and even slushes! (Horchata and Jamaica) For those of us trying to bring a smile to our coworkers faces by way of caffeine, La Monarca offers large boxes of their cafe de olla at a reasonable price....but if youre thinking of buying everyone coffee make sure to take a pastry for them as well since there are many cookie, cakes, and pan dulce offerings.

Service was great. Employees were very helpful and nice. 👍🏾 Items on the shelf, not so great. Im a HUGE champurrado fan and I was surprised that theirs was NOT good at all. It did not hot the spot at all! I was very disappointed. I also ordered a couple slices of cake. I havent tried them yet. Ill let you know.

This place was nice but Im not sure Ill come back because of all the options I have. Coffee was decent but nothing special. I got the cafe del Carmen which was a caramel coffee. $5 + .80¢ for oat milk is pretty standard but coffee was just okay. Got a mini concha for $1.00 and that was nice. Ordered the chicken mole burrito for $8. Not terrible but felt a little overpriced. I love mole and this wasnt great to me but it was still a decent snack. Lots of space to sit inside and out. Free wifi and nice workers but was very cold sitting inside.

The cake was a hit, I got dulce de leche. The cake was not overly sweet like other places. It was a little pricey but worth it. I also order the breakfast biscuits and both were delicious.

Ive been wanting to try this place for a good while and today found the time before heading to work.The place inside is nice and clean with great music playing. You get that friendly warm feeling walking inside.The staff is friendly. I was greeted when I walked inside and customer service was on point.I walked over to the bread section and and picked out the guayaba with cheese croissant and guayaba and cream danish. I love trying guayaba pastires and I definitely wasnt disappointed . The danish was my favorite of the two.For coffee i tried the Cafe Oaxaca (espresso + Mexican chocolate + steamed milk) and I loved it it had just the right amount of Mexican chocolate that I prefer in my drinks. I want to try the Cafe De Olla next when i come back. I heard a lot about that coffee from friends.I didnt know this when walking in but they have breakfast Tortas and thought why not try it out. I ordered the Chipotle beef machaca. It comes with a salsa which is good. Its not a large portion of meat so if your starving you might not get full. Its just right of your feeling a bit hungry. Overall it was good, the salsa added the extra good flavor to it.Overall it was a great experience and will be returning I came in with the idea of only getting coffee and came out with more goodies.

I realy like their cafe de hoya I usually order it with 3 leches instead of creamer. Its the perfect blend of sweet and creamy. The only thing that prevents me from going more often is that 100% of the time the coffee leaks out of the cup and lid. I think its a manufacturer flaw but 100% of the time its super messy. I feel like I cant take that cup into my car.

(Visited on a Saturday afternoon.) It was a great location to take a breather and a good coffee after a long, tiring day. The ambiance was calm and welcoming. My order was an Iced Tres Leches Latte and 2 Dulce de Leche Empanadas. Both super affordable, super delicious. All staff was friendly; place was clean. Selection of pastries was limited, but it was expected as it was not super busy. Better to have limited options as opposed to a bunch of food waste at the end of the day. Definitely going back soon!

Im here a few times a month with my boys to have a coffee and a pastry. The Cafe Oaxaca has been my favorite as of late. Though I usually get the mocha. If you ask the right associate they will make it a mexican mocha with ability chocolate. Theire burritos and torts are simple yet effective. .Meaning they taste good and dont have a bunch of filler.

Had a cake made for my fathers bday a while back, they messed up the name on the cake and I couldn’t get it fixed since I am out of town. Decided to trust this place again, they Called me very late regarding a pick up order I had submitted. Refunded me without my knowledge and didn’t offer a different cake. Very disappointing and horrible way of dealing with the situation. It was my nephews birthday & I am out of state, called me only 1-2 hours before the pick up time. Didn’t offer a different cake nor offer any other options. Will not be ordering from here again

I stopped by to get a hot chocolate and paid 5.75 for it! It was disgusting, it was lumpy and thick. I domt know whT they did but that was nothing like a hot chocolate. I ended up paying 11 and change for my stuff. Bad idea dont come here. Its not all that great. Wish I would ha e gone to Starbucks instead.

The staff was great but the problem was the food I had ordered/purchased. First time here and ordered 3 slices of cake: mocha, dulce de leche, and tres leches. All 3 were horribly dry. I had a bite of each one and each one was a disappointment. So dry and flavorless. Tastes as if they had been sitting in the display case for days on end, drying out the cake. Honestly at $4.75 a slice I cannot believe this is what they’re selling to people. I only went here because it’s less than a mile from my house but damn I regret it. Looks like I am going back to Tierra Mia for their MOIST pastries!!

Have been going to the La Monarca at the Pasadena store. But when the one at Pico River open. My mom and myself have been going there often. But we where here on September 17 and again today the 21 of September. The bread is great and the drinks too. But there was very few bread left. Thats is the only negative thing lately. I love the big ears sweet bread. I sure miss them.Well we are back here, and what after 4 days ago and again, they are very short on bread. Its never like this before. I dont know if they have a all new crew or what.

One of my favorite cafes when I lived in California and was in Pico Rivera. The food is great (try the tortas, tacos, etc., Theyre yummy), the coffee wonderful (especially the café de olla), and the desserts, dont even get me started! The only con is that the place itself is pretty small and I wish they had more ample and comfortable seating.

Love it, the first time we went fell in love with/their mini bolillos which to they ask you to order 3days in advance, so we decided to order some for my grandsons baptism, that was the worst experience weve ever had, not only did they not have our order ! We had a house full of family (hungry family) they gave us some excuse about their oven, even stopping by to check, maybe pick up our order early, we were told it wasnt ready yet, why didnt they let us know about their oven problem at that time, no they wait till we go p/u our order...! I myself or any of our family will NOT be supporting that business...

What can I say about this place. New, fresh, different idea with a nice old school feel to it. Lets start with the bakery super modern twist to old fashion favorites and staying old school is what you want they have all the old classic Mexican bread you can handle. There coffee and teas are really good down to my favorite cafe de la olla its like regular coffee but an awesome cinnamon twist to it.

To say that Monarca is the Latin equivalent of Starbucks wouldnt do neither one a favor. Simply put, Monarca is a Latino bakery with a somewhat Americanized fancy store presentation. Aside from that, their products are the same products youd find at a Latino market, only pricier of course. Their coffee is average and definitely not as good as Starbucks although their prices are similar. But the similarities pretty much end there. If you go to Monarca, expect to overpay for stuff youd get much cheaper somewhere else, but do not expect the same quality youd find at Starbucks.

La Monarca is a great neighborhood bakery-cafe. An alternative to a certain ubiquitous corporate coffee chain with something more charming and culturally interesting. LM has Mexican sweet bread, cookies, cakes, Mexican food and coffees. Its a tasty diversion from the usual.

La Monarca Bakery is good but I would have second thoughts if your thinking you are going to be in and out .I ordered a cup of coffee the girl at the counter ask me for my name, I gave her my name at this point I had already paid, I replied to her and said I only ordered a cup of coffee she said pick up your coffee at the other side of the counter ok,I had to wait for all of these orders of specialty coffees to be made before I was given my simple cup of coffee that took less than 15 seconds for the barista to pour and put a lid and said coffee ready .So I had to wait 15 minutes to get a coffee that took 15 seconds to pour and hand to me . La Monarca Bakery is on the slow train, if you are on time frame do stop in that shop you will definitely be running late .Slow at customer service I asked the barista why I had to wait for a cup of coffee she replied we are busy.

I had heard a lot about this place, but was somewhat disappointed. It is an attempt at being a hipster panaderia (Mexican bakery). The Mexican sweet bead seemed smaller than what Im used to and over priced. My recommendation is to give or a try to see if it fits your tastes, but as for me Ill stick with my local old school panaderia.

I was recently able to try the bread from this place, it is very tasty! The colored shells and the croissant 🥐 stuffed with cream cheese! I recommend them!I highly recommend the pot coffee and the one from Oaxaca! They are delicious!!

I had a good expectation about a 3 leches cake that I bought last week, I have tried cakes in different places and just not, they recommended this bakery to me and I decided to go for a 3 leches one, very dry with no flavor! The truth is they disappointed me. Theres no way I can keep trying when I can find a good pastry shop!
