La Stanza Cucina Italiana in Menlo Park

I went to La Stanza for dinner with a friend, and the place was packed. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I ordered ravioli carbonara. It was super creamy, light, and flavorful. It was a decent serving size, but it was so good that it left me craving for more. They also provide you with complimentary bread. The bread and the dipping sauce (not sure of the name; probably olive oil of some sort) were really good, too. We also got tiramisu at the end, and it was delicious. Overall, its a great restaurant with reasonable prices, great food and great service.

La Stanza is a great neighborhood find. The dishes are consistently good and often great -- last night I had the ravioli carbonara and it was superb. The service is really personable - the staff really seems to love their work and take pride in their food and it shows. Lastly, the prices are reasonable in an era where so many restaurants are just out of control.

The food is okay. The instalata was really good, actually my favorite, but pasta was something that you can cook at home. It didnt have that taste of eating at a restaurant. The baguette that was served was defrosted and I would not be so sure about the home made pasta. I think theres some space for improvement. Good service and theres a parking lot behind the restaurant.

Cozy Italian restaurant in downtown Menlo Park. Food was good -- we ordered the rigatoni and the pasta pockets. Tiramisu was great. Parking nearby on the street and in a lot.

I was alone for the weekend and wanted to give myself a treat without spending too much. La Stanza looked like just the place. A few minutes before 5pm, I called to see if I could be seated if I came about 20 minutes from now? The friendly hostess told me no problem, and took my name.On arrival, I walked past the outdoor tables (with gas-fired heaters), and found the indoor seating spread across multiple rooms, giving a small-cafe feel but plenty of capacity.Things were hopping; the hostess handed bagged orders to waiting doordash-ers, then turned her attention to me. I identified myself, and she and offered me either of two tables. I opted for one away from the door. Throughout my time there, she handled a stream of calls, doordash orders, and arriving diners with friendliness and grace.Soon my server appeared, and I asked for the wine special. Was I ready to order? Whats your favorite thing here? I asked.She had two favorites, she said, and named two of the lowest-priced entrees. I skipped the appetizers and ordered the rigatoni, which appeared promptly and was ample, especially with the bread. Should I have brought a tupperware and stashed half of it in advance? I was glad not to be on a weight-loss diet, the food was so good: Italian sausage, peas, a great sauce.Service was prompt but not hovering. She brought me a dessert menu. I did not need dessert, but I asked for a decaf single cap, which was great.Will definitely eat here again.

Food was fantastic! Covid has hit all restaurants hard and La Stanza was new to Menlo Park opening in January 2020. The owner / chef has his Italian cuisine dialed. The cesar salad was dressed to perfection served on a chilled plate w/shavings of Parmigiano Reggiano.. Delish! My short rib ravioli special was exactly what I was hoping for. Hand made in house pasta baked to perfection. My wife had the sacchettto vegi pasta pocket stuffed w/vegis . The red sauce had tremendous flavor... and perfect to mop up with the bread. 🤪... This place is a must try!

The food here is delicious and made to order! We loved it so much we had our Sons Baptism here this May. They did a beautiful job creating a perfect, private, and intimate space for our small gathering.The food was outstanding and so was the service. My husband and I live close by this restaurant and come here often. Its one of the few restaurants that we go to repeatedly in downtown Menlo Park (at least once a month). Excellent service. Our favorite pastas are the pear pockets and gnocchi. But the real reason we come here is for the desserts! Best cannoli in all of the Bay Area. The shell is nice and crunchy and filling light with some orange zest and pistachios. I usually share with my husband and we fight over the last bite. We brought our friend here (from Turin) and he said it reminded him of home. He ordered the tiramisu and cleaned the plate. The atmosphere is great and homey. Good wine selection as well.

Delicious food and friendly attentive staff made our evening wonderful and very relaxing.
