The food here is great! It exceeded expectations, it was reasonably priced. Highly recommend it.

Our family was traveling all over California and ended up in Bakersfield right around the storm time. We looked up Chinese food and saw that Lams had good reviews. Upon arrival I was a little scared because it looks like nothing special on the outside. However food was absolutely awesome, and I enjoyed that there was no music to interrupt our conversations. Again, the food was just very good! And service was great, too. Thank you for such an awesome experience!
If you want great Chinese food for a great price, Lams is the perfect option! For only $10, you can get a big plate of delicious food, and they have lots of delicious options. During my last time at Lams, I had the Orange Chicken, so this time I had the Sweet and Sour Pork, and I highly recommend both! Also, its close proximity to Bakersfield College makes it the perfect spot for a quick lunch or dinner before class. All of these have made Lams my new go-to Chinese restaurant!
The food was really good, not too salty and service was excellent. We got the family style meal, chinese broccoli and walnut shrimp. Never really gave this place a chance because I usually go to Rice bowl but Im glad I did.
Been coming here since I was young. My grandma used to get takeout from them when they were in the little building Nextdoor. Best eggflour soup in town. Love the kung pao chicken & lo mein. The owners are very friendly as well. We’ll keep coming back.

The fried rice was plain. No flavor. The lemon sauce on the lemon chicken was really watery. No lemon 🍋 flavor at all. Wont get it again .The low main that came with the lunch specials had no flavor. Just noodles with some kind of runny watery sauce.But the shrimp 🦐 fried rice & Kung poa chicken was really good ..Great flavor big shrimp in the rice .Potstickers 🥟 were really good. Mongolian beef was really good.Not sure if we will go back though

My family and I have loved this food for like, ever. We dont usually dine in, we order take out or delivery. Ive dined in a few times at its a nice friendly atmosphere almost like a cheers vibe. Lots of regulars and the service is so pleasant. The food is great. The spinach is the bomb and the shrimp with lobster sauce over that shrimp fried rice ♥️♥️♥️ I doubt anyone will have bad things to say about this place.

I had the hot and spicy squid. Big portions, good flavor, but the said was breaded (light) and fried, I was hoping for broiled or similar method. Still good, but I will go for something not fried next time.A good value and inexpensive, recommended.

Food is always good, I just wish they added more than 6 shrimp to the fried rice. Its a ton of rice but not enough shrimp, now I know shrimp is expensive, and I dont expect them to add more but that would be my only negative. Great place to take your family to eat I might add. This was the first time I can honestly say the food was not good. We paid $110 tip included on delivery. Didnt get the soup or fried rice. Which when I called they then told me they dont give the soup on delivery. The noodles were stuck togather. The sweet & sour pork was saugy. The orange chicken was too tough to eat. The shrimp & egg rolls were way too greasy and the egg foo young was just nasty. Me & my husband are so sick to our stomachs now from all the grease. We will not be ordering from them again!!😤

The spicy shrimp is not spicy anymore and needs a little more salt. It used to be perfect so that its the only thing Ive ever ordered. The only times Ive tasted other dishes are when I come with a group. There are a lot more really tasty dishes in their menu but I missed the spicy shrimp, the way it used to be anyway. Overall, I think it is still the best Chinese restaurant in Bakersfield.
Ive been going here for many years. The food quality is consistent. Its always good. Ive never gotten a bad meal or bad service ever in all the years Ive been going there. They always remember what I like they always even remember what I drink. They make you feel at home. If you havent been there give it a try.
My mom foams at the mouth at the thought of their house noodles. She is a beast that cannot he tamed. She eats, drinks, breathes house noodles. Or so I thought. We ordered THE WRONG NOODLES. Our fault 100% but they were so nice and remade our noodles. If you want the “puffy thick” noodles as my mom calls them with nothing else those are LUNCH noodles. The beast has been tamed. One of oldest and authentic Chinese place in Bakersfield. Place is kinda small, service is good, wait to be seated and serve your order is pretty decent, food is fantastic and prize is reasonable. Been going here for last 19 yrs whenever craving for a good Chinese food. House special noodle Cantonese style - fried noodles are delicious, fried or steam seafood are yummy.

It was good. I tried a new dish and loved it. I just expected more quantity on the menu for special menu. I understand its per person but I expected more quantity on the food. I thought lo mein was also a much thinner noodle. I asked for Chinese noodle and they said that was lo mein. It just wasnt as thin as I thought. It was too thick for me.

The only reason I awarded 3 stars was the female order taker and the fast contactless delivery. The food was not that tasty. I was surprised! I had last eaten here 20 years ago.I ordered the Family dinner B for 4 and the lemon sauce chicken. I wasnt told soup doesnt come with delivery. Every other Chines take out has soup so ...? I was only told after I called. That guy? Not as nice.90 bucks down the drain in my book. I specifically ordered from them to support Asian business in this time of racism toward them. I have been going to this restaurant since I was A baby, I am 32 now and it’s still my favorite Chinese food I’ve ever had! I dont Live in Bakersfield anymore but anytime i visit I always stop in and get my favorite chicken lo mein or the spicy shrimp. This is one place I will Actually eat alone at. The size of the servings are way too big. And, in keeping with that, so are the prices on the Board Specials. The food is good, service is excellent. But you had better be a big eater.

The food was ok. The black mushrooms were too big. The vegetables and fish lacked flavor. The fish had batter, I wanted steamed. My husband didnt like his food, orange chicken and chow mien.

Answer came there as long as I lived here 25 years and they have a dish called a birds nest which is the healthiest and most delicious entree they serve theyre looking walking distance to my home and they do deliver the atmosphere is a little undesirable they actually need to update it and put more money into the appearance of it that doesnt matter who is great and the prices are excellent

The best Chinese food place, has a wide variety at great prices and deals for single meals or sharable ones. Great quality food and the friendliest and accommidating staff. Seriously go here for good food and service, we actually go outta our way to have some, its not too far but gotta take the freeway from where were are at about 20-25 mins away, thats how good it is!

What has happened to the GREAT AUTHENTIC CHINESE CUISINE which restaurant is famous for in this city??? Just ordered a take out of all in all $80, got home and was devastated, it was horrible! The previous time we ordered was before we moved to The Hill which is closer, we drove from SW side of town & at that time the order was at least 4 stars. I ordered the Peking Duck which is a item rarely ordered as is expensive, opened the container and it look like that poor bird was hacked to death, its supposed to be crispy outside (which it was) but juicy meat inside, NOT! Dry as the Mojave Desert, although my pup liked her $15 half duck! Sorry to be so vivid on describing but i remain really upset, will not be ordering again!DID U CHANGE COOKS (CHEF) ?
We ordered food to go. When ordering our food, the employee hung up on us so there was confusion on what was actually included in the order.They put soupy entrees in flat Styrofoam containers, causing the contents of our meal to spill in our car.Lastly, and probably most disturbingly, they do not use deveined shrimp. This means that you are eating shrimp that still has fecal matter intact. Disgusting. We couldnt eat 2 of our dishes that had shrimp in them because of this. The least you could do is devein the shrimp that you serve to paying customers.

My bell pepper beef had the toughest beef I’ve encountered. It was difficult to chewed up The lo mein was just too salty. They also lacked anything other than noodles. Same for the fried rice. I’ve never had anything bad here before. Until tonight.Just gotta wonder …. what changed??The last picture shows what we left. We usually clean the plates off, but not this time.Be better, please?

2023-12-08 09:44:46Ive been coming here since I moved to Bakersfield in 1988. The lunch specials were only $1.99 back then. Today, they are $11.00 and change plus tax. The food remains delicious to this very day. My ultimate favorite is chicken fried rice because they make it so good. Always plenty of chicken & egg & veggies. Plus the price is very reasonable. For example, a smaller plate of chicken fried rice at Myoshi costs you $18. At lams, its cheaper, and you get more rice. Their prices are very reasonable, and my family and I drive from the Rosedale & Allen road area JUST to come eat here. The menu is very good and offers you a huge variety of food to eat. My mom & dad are in their 70s and wont go anywhere else for their favorite menu items here. From Hot tea thats delicious to crispy noodles with hot mustard or sweet & sour sauce to dip them in while we wait for our food is one of our favorites as well. Their egg flower soup is unique and tasty. I enjoy sweet & sour chicken thats extra crispy while my mom enjoys broccoli beef. We cant thank the owners & staff enough for the 35 plus years they have been serving us. Ive known you guys a long time. Your very wonderful people, and always friendly whenever we come to eat there. Just amazing food & service. Once a Scotsmen.. always a Scotsmen.So if youre ever in their neighborhood, you should DEFINITELY stop in for a meal cause you wont regret it. But the last 3 times my family had ordered almost all of us ended sick for days after the food tasted great just made us really sick. We havent ordered since the 3rd time happened and I wouldnt order again. I hope if theres something in your kitchen making people Ill its fixed fast or has been fixed since Ive last ordered. This was one of my familys go tos to order from. Everything else is fine besides the mild food poisoning.
