Noodles i would happily trade my basal ganglia for. Who needs smooth movement anyways?Incredible hand made noodles at a reasonable price. If you look Chinese but dont speak mandarin, prepare to get lovingly roasted by the service.

The food itself isnt bad. Had flavor, but my friend noted compared to the last time he was there, there was less cumin and other spices in the broth compared to the last time he was there.The owner who took our order was ok. But I was annoyed when the staffer told us to move to a smaller table because it was only 2 of us. While understandable, I really didnt like being crowded by others. Lo and behold, sat next to some shallow people listening to their comments.Once they left, another group sat in their spot, and basically had the same debate about what broth to get, and what size noodles. I got the Angel Hair thin noodles, while my friend got the super-thick ones. I only get those when theres tons of oils that needs to be soaked up.

Freshly made noodles daily! In fact you can see the chef constantly making fresh noodles behind the glass. The noodles are so fresh and chewy. Beef are tender. There are two type of beef you can order from -- the brasied beef or the clear broth with sliced beef. I would suggest you get the braised beef. I also tried a dry noodles this time. Actually its not as dry as you though. Theres a little sauce in the bottom of my plate which I think its very nice. That was the Tomato Egg Noodles. Service is nice. The place with a cute atmosphere where the play Chinese songs in the background. Not too bad. Will come back again.

Yummy lanzhou noodle soup. 🍜 It is not spicy even for the highest level. Soup based seems the same for all. You can choose different type of noodles. The least I like is the big plate. It is too sweet for me. For others the meat not that much.

Got the lanzhou beef chow mein. It was pretty good but also a bit salty than I would prefer. They have different types of noodles to choose from. I got the regular noodles, not the big flat ones. The noodles were freshly made and had very good texture.

Stopped by here on a quick trip to LA and I was NOT disappointed. It was a bit busy but the workers took my order quickly & I was able to snag a seat outdoors.I ordered the Beef Spicy Hand Pulled Noodles & Smash Cucumbers. Just like most of the Yelpers who left their positive reviews here, I also highly recommend this restaurant.Although the flavor of the beef noodle soup was not exactly like the ones in Lan Zhou in Western China, I would say this is very very close to it.Back in Lan Zhou, beef noodle soup is considered a stable for the masses. They eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are very popular street food. Some of the street vendors leave their beef soup simmer all year long. Some of the soups have been boiling for years.It’s rear nowadays to find restaurants still hand pulled their noodles. With hand pulling the noodles, the cooked noodles become very chewy and tasty. That’s why they are so popular.Since I was here for lunch alone, I ordered the lunch combo which included the popular beef noodle, a soft drink, and a braised egg. I too loved the food here. With a bit of spicy kick, the whole bowl of noodle became very delicious.Parking is a bit of a problem as Lan Noodle is collocated with many popular restaurants in the same mall.

I will get the negative out of the way first. The establishment was dirty, especially the restroom and the service was slow. Now, the best part of eating here was trying freshly handmade noodles. The soup served is a decent portion. I ordered the Chinese hamburger; plain and simple, no taste. The overall experience was alright. I doubt I’ll come back and visit for another try

First timers here.. I was surprised at how small the place was lol. So we both got their soupy noodle. And all I could taste was salt and the chili oil. There was no bold beefy soup broth. But the appetizer was delicious 😂. And customer service was attentive. So maybe well give this spot another chance. Need to try more to actually compare.

The food and service was excellent.. the kids liked it too. I especially liked my spicy beef Lan noodle and the Chinese burger. It reminds me of a Shanghainese dish my grandmother used to make (but spicier).The fried rice was simple and clean tasting for the kids.. there were no leftovers that night 😆Update: still good. We got the kids fried rice. It looks deceptively bland, but it was delicious! The kids cleaned the plate 😳

Lanzhou beef noodle is super fragrant and comforting. The hand pulled noodle were amazing, so chewy and fresh. Beef was also tender.And the Chinese burger was delicious too, even though I didn’t like the strong smells of the lamb.

Drove here on a Sunday morning to beat the lunch rush as I’ve heard that coming at a peak lunch hour may result in a long wait time. Ordered the combo C (chose the braised beef noodle soup and N2 noodle) and a LAN Noodle soup with the wide thick noodle N5. Both were delicious, the noodles were super chewy and the broth was yummy. The service was great too, friendly had courteous. We were sitting outside but they still came out to check on us and refill our water twice. Wish I lived closer so I could come more often!

Saw lots of positive reviews for this place and my wife and I are huge fans of handmade noodles; we were looking forward to try this place. It was a good sign that when we arrive at 1:10pm, there was a line outside the restaurant.There were a few tables inside the restaurant and two on the sidewalk. It was refreshing to see chef making fresh noodles in the open kitchen. We ordered combo 3, which includes spicy beef noodle, tea egg, side appetizer, & soft drink, and a stir fry beef noodle (both were recommended by the owner). It took a little over 40 minutes to prep our togo order and we were excited to try them out.Unfortunately, everything was downhill from here. Spicy beef noodle soup was nothing more than the typical spicy flavor without any depth. There were about 5-6 thin sliced beef and the tea egg had no flavor at all. Well, what about the noodle? It was overcooked and left with almost no texture. As for the stir fry beef noodle, it was borderline disgusting. It was full of oil with overcooked noodle and beef slices. We ended up discarding half of our meal 😵

Love the shirts they have!! “Send Noods.” Come for their signature LAN noodle... especially if youre used to eating typical beef noodle soups. This will taste slightly different and still satisfy your cravings.Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 -Signature LAN with wide flat noodles at medium spice. Pretty good with a kick and the beef slices cooked just right. The cube pieces of meat were a bit dry though. Flat noodles didn’t absorb the broth as well so wouldn’t recommend.Lanzhou street noodle with the triangle shape noodle at medium spicy. The peanut butter came through really strong and the flavored peas adds some nice texture. This is definitely a more acquired taste. The triangle shape noodles absorb more taste so it was great.Chicken gizzard (cold appetizer) had too much five spices on top that covered the taste of the gizzards itself. The spices make the texture chalkyAmbience: 3/5 - bright clean shop with description of the different types of noodles on the wall. The audio from the TV was poor quality and doesn’t quite fit in with the feel of the shop. They didnt have stand alone speakers so the music would peak alot. There were chairs piled up in the corner as you walked in that felt cluttered. Much kudos to the lad pulling and making noodles the entire time. As the shop got busier, he was cooking and organizing the noodle orders too. Very interesting to just watch him make the different shape of noodles. He did not touch his face even once while we were there. Very professional.Service: 5/5 - polite and very quick service. Will ask (if applicable) spice level and noodle type. First-time visitor after drooling over photos on Instagram, I finally got here. I did take out of their signature soup + number 5 noodles--the big fat wide ones. What a wonderful experience! The soup was absolutely delicious and flavorful with nice chunks and slices of beef. The noodles were just delightful and chewy and a perfect match for the soup. I got the medium heat which I considered very mild so Ill probably kick it up a notch next time. Because there will be a next time. Many next times.

Upon looking at their IG account and their photos of Handmade noodles wifey picked this restaurant.Weve eaten this style of noodles before at other authentic Chinese restaurants, however this particular spot has the best bowl of Noodles this far. Homemade broth is very tasty and their homemade chili oil is the best in your bowl!Me & my wife were in amazement of how delicious it was.They had plenty of parking, place was clean and organized, friendly service *even when super busy*This place is a must!We definitely will be back for more.

Ok, pasting my review with comparison to next door here. My photos for each restaurant is on the respective restaurants Google review page.Xiang Ji:Decent beef noodles! Funny seeing two beef noodles next door, but this one gives a bit more noodles. The beef is also chunkier and has less fat if youre into that type of beef. Also a dollar or two cheaper for the same thing. Id say this is the go-to if youre just looking for a warm and filling meal at a decent price. The broth honestly isnt that much different from next door, but probably lacks a bit of beef fat flavor. Again, I dont think it really matters as its not heavy on sodium either. Atmosphere lacks a bit and feels a bit empty at times, but the service is still good. Toppings could use some additional veggies like bok choy.Lanzhou Beef Noodle:Soup tastes better here. Closest to favorable Chinese beef noodles. If you like spicier food, you can get spicier with the chili oil. There are also a bit more toppings for the full beef noodle flavor kick. Honestly they should use bok choy instead of spinach but I guess spinach is cheaper... They use a lot of beef with fat which probably contributes to the slightly better overall taste compared to nextdoor. Ive seen people take out left over beef broth to probably eat another meal with at home. Noodles are customizable and they have wide noodles here too. But overall, youre going to get less full on a large stomach here. If youre not looking to get super full, this place does the job well.They also sell their chili oil here, but honestly, go with the good stuff Lao Gan Ma that they sell in Chinese supermarkets as that consistently tastes worlds away from restaurant chili oil.My pick:Xiang Ji for slightly lower prices, slightly more noodles, better beef quality (if you like less fat filler). If Xiang Ji owner or workers see this, please cut the beef smaller but put the same amount of beef!

You can see the chefs hand-pull the noodles behind the glass! It looks so stringy and fun!The beef noodle soup broth was just the right spice level to tingle your lips, but keep you wanting more. The beef pieces were on the chewy side, but I think it’s supposed to be like that. The flat wide noodles we selected were kinda thick, so next time we’ll order the soup with the thin round noodles.The cold sesame noodles were a a hit! Had some business in Arcadia, so went to the top restaurant recommended in Yelp.When we got there, the line was out the door and I was debating whether we wanted to wait. Saw on the sign-up sheet there really werent that many groups before us, so decided to stay. There are not a lot of tables, so its really luck of the draw. We kept ourselves entertained by watching the noodle chef stretch noodles, so time passed by quickly.We decided to sit outside since it wasnt that cold, and placed our order relatively quickly after sitting down. I ordered the beef noodle soup with thin noodles and low spice level. Noodles came out after some time and it was so fragrant and delicious! I am impressed they got all the ingredients correctly even with the crowd. The low spice level was more like medium level, but I am ok with it and really enjoyed the taste. The beef chunks was a little chewy, but overall it was a satisfying bowl of noodle soup.Will definitely return if Im in the area again!

Amazing noodles! Get the wide LAN Noodle and get it spicy. Its not a burning spice but rather a numbing spice thats incredibly flavorful. Dont be afraid. Get it on the side of youre not sure and youll realize its great flavor and not really much heat. Ill be back!

This noodle place is so amazingggggggg!!!!!!!!! The environment here is pretty traditional Chinese style. The waiters here are nice and willingly to help. The food we ordered, the braised beef soup noodle is fantastic, the taste of the beef is like melting in my mouth. The thin round noodle is just hit the right way, not too thick, not too thin. Also, we were sitting on the table next to the noodle making place. We saw the chef making our noodle in different shapes. Honestly it’s our first time for hand made noodles. It is the awesome experience having dinner in this place. We will be back for the other foods!!!!!!

I have been to various places in the U.S. in search for authentic Lanzhou beef noodles and this time I finally think that my goal is within rich.The space was modern and cozy, and the staff were hospitable and efficient. But what really impressed me was the food itself - I loved “thin wide” noodles and this was the only time (finally!) that I found hand-pulled noodles that were truly thin. The beef came as a surprise as well - very tender and served in a quite generous portion. Additionally, the small dishes looked all great. Unfortunate downturn today. Yes, long wait, unfriendly service, relative cleanliness, but that doesn’t deter me if the food is stellar. It used to be the case here. Today the curry lamb noodles were a complete miss. All onions, 5 pieces of lamb, half of which was gristle, no depth of flavor as it used to, very oily, and incredibly small plate. Just the noodles were on point - chewy, wide and delicious. The $22.- spent for that one dish tasted bitter. LAN, if you’re reading this, step it back up: You are slipping.

We were driving back from Big Bear and wanted something spicy. We found this gem and stopped by. Ordered the spicy beef noodles and lamb burger. We didnt enjoy the lamb burger, but the beef noodles were out of this world. They make the noodles in front of you and the broth and beef compliments it perfectly. The staff is amazing. We had tofu, smashed cucumber, and beef tendon that was pulled so high it rolled off plate when picking pieces off. Lan Noodle is great! The server was very nice and attentive. I ordered my spicy beef noodle as medium spice and it was just spicy enough without being overwhelming. Noodles are good, everything else quite disappointing. Overall, a bit underwhelming.Dont order the braised pig feet, it has an odd taste of some unidentifiable herb. Dont order the chicken gizzards either, it was very blend.The service is subpar. They are very busy and lack of an efficient system. They forget 3 out of 5 things we ask for.Unnecessary and excessive use of plastic utensils and plastic mugs and single use chopsticks. Hard to drink the noodle soup with a small shallow plastic spoon.The water had an odd taste.

Been coming to Lan for a minute and we finally chose to dine at the restaurant tonight (after not dining there for about a year since COVID). They have limited indoor seating to about 3-4 tables and have 3 tables outside. Parking is pretty easy as people are still weary of dining out. I ordered their medium spicy Lan Special noodle and we shared a side combo of shredded potatoes, seaweed and smashed cucumber. Definitely much better than ordering take out and I feel as though they’ve improved the flavor of their side dishes.

Returned today for its amazing LAN Braised Beef Noodle soup. Noodles are made onsite by the chef in everyone’s view. Given choices of extra wide, thin wide, or narrow flat noodles, or round ones that vary from very thin to big round noodles. Even have triangle noodles! Excellent flavor with very soft/tender braised beef. Very popular with many Asian customers. Sign inside says Lanzhou Beef Noodle. Interesting menu with appetizers, etc that we will have to sample on future visits.

Visited on a Saturday night for takeout and it was packed. Ordered the spicy beef noodle soup with thin round noodles, and it was fantastic. My wife had the vegetable chow mein with angel hair noodles - it was one of the better chow meins weve eaten! Our cousin ordered the chicken chow mein with wide flat noodles - but the wide noodle isnt a good match for the chow mein.If we lived nearby, we would frequent this place all the time.

Spicy beef noodle soup of my dreams. My wife and I took a friends advice and made our way to Lans Noodle. And I think it might be the best find of the year. We walked o. And were quickly greeted and sat. A quick look at them menus and we knew what we were getting. Spicy beef noodle soup. The only question was which kind of noodles to get. They have a few different choices for the noodles. I decided to try the triangle noodle and my wife went with the chive noodles. That was the only difference in our order. But wow. What a difference it made. The triangle noodles were hearty and almost made the soup feel like a stew. The chive noodles were delicate and delicious. Cannot wait to go back and try more.

Not sure what the hype is about.. We waited 15-20minutes line outside and I ordered their Lan Noodle House special Medium Spicy and it was nothing special...ive had better ones and this is my least favorite.. I also ordered their side dish Spicy Garlic fried tofu and it was nasty.. maybe i didnt see it on their Cold Menu but they served it cold... like it literally just came out from the fridge.. and also their potato appetizer is not good too.. the only thing i like is that you will see how they make their noodles fresh in their partially open kitchen but other than that its nothing else. Pros:- generous portion, it fed me for two meals. I tried everybody elses and I think the 紅燒牛肉麵 (with the widest noodle) is the way to go- no MSG, if you care about that. Thats what the sign says anyway, and I didnt get that dry feeling in my mouth I usually do after I eat a lot of MSG. I dont mind it but my dad says only lesser chefs use MSG. And supposedly no MSG is better for drinking the soup?- we got the spiciest level, but its not spicy. Its a different kind of spicy -- the herby tingly kind of spicy, not burning spicy- the beef was so good. It was flavorful and fell apart. I was surprised at how good it was. Im not into beef at all but I would go back for their beef- had indoor and outdoor dining. Tables were really far apart, waiters wore ppe, etc.Cons:- drinks were okay, kind of small, not worth $3-4- the appetizers we got were okay. The tofu skin was soooo salty, to the point that it would blow out your palate. I couldnt eat it. But my dad liked it, he just had to wash it in his soup repeatedly- it is a bit pricey for that area for a bowl of noodles. But considering the portion size and the quality, I think its worth it. Also Im sure it must be hard right now; Im fine paying a little more than Im used to for noodles if it means they stay in business.Noodles were good, beef was good, would come back again.

My spouse and I went to this place for the first time to try their beef noodle soup which didnt disappoint. The signature beef noodle soup is highly recommended!We ordered 5 dishes: the thin-wide cleared beef noodle soup, the big plate chicken, a lamb hamburger, a beef hamburger and shredded potatoes.The big chicken was bland and lacked flavor along with the big chunks of fried potatoes. The noodles were long noodles and they were thick and wide. Hard to manage. It was not at all what I expected. However, the other dishes made up for the big plate chicken.The beef burger was smothered with spicy chili oil. It was mostly for flavor with a mild kick. The lamb burger had onions and chinese peppers which complemented the lamb well. Scrumptious!!The shredded potatoes were probably done through a mandoline or spiralizer. They looked like thin spaghetti noodles as supposed to fine sliced potatoes. Nonetheless, they were still tasty.We would definitely go back but well stay away from the big plate chicken.

Lan Noodle is a good place to eat a different kind of noodles soup but it’s definitely not the same as Lanzhou Ramen. In LAN Noodles, the broth is tasty but not the lamb flavor I was searching for. For the homemade noodles, there are too greasy and not very tasty. When you add the noodles in the broth it makes the dish very greasy.For COVID-19, the packaging is well done and nothing is mixed. The waiting time was not too long and the employees work hard as I could see.

A friend took me to this restaurant for dinner some time after it opened. There were not many customers on a Friday night and we were seated immediately. The service staff was very nice. I ordered three cold dishes and ate them while waiting for the noodles. When all the cold dishes were finished, the noodles were still not ready, so I left two chicken feet on the plate just to avoid looking too ugly. The ramen chef has been tossing the dough in his hand instead of pulling the noodles. After what felt like a long time, the noodles arrived. I took a sip of the soup without adding any seasonings. It felt like the soup was not sold enough but with water added, and the taste was not strong enough. I really dont know if the customers who gave good reviews when it first opened had the same food as me. Two days later, I went to another Lanzhou ramen shop that had just opened, and it was indeed authentic. So it is more reliable to eat at a restaurant that has just opened.

I ordered beef noodles and Roujia Mo for takeout. The noodles tasted very average and the soup was salty. The noodles had nothing to do with the texture. The Roujia Mo had no salty taste.
