First time visiting, and wow, what a pleasant surprise! The papaya prawn salad was excellent, and the shrimp and beef curry was absolutely heavenly! A must do. I totally recommend you try this quality Thai restaurant. They dont disappoint, and the service was outstanding.

Stopped by here while in Martinez for dinner. Our server was super friendly and service was fast. Relatively speaking, portion of the food was sufficient for the price and taste-wise, the food wasnt too bad or far from what other similar restaurants served.

Excellent food! We had Drunken Noodles with chicken and crispy rolls with no meat and a sweet dipping sauce. We like water with our food and the ice water there never has an after taste. It reminds me of spring water from the mountains. Service is fast and the food is served hot. This is my favorite Thai restaurant!!!

We ate here for lunch today. Nice spot, good service, great tasting food. We had the Pad Thai (which was off the hook) and also ordered the Sweet Basil stir fry with shrimp. It was kinda spicy (says it on the menu) but the heat goes away pretty quick.

I havent been here in a long time. Like so many places, the prices have gone up. The appetizers are still delicious. The chicken in my pad Thai was pretty tough, but everything else was good. Service a little slow especially since they were not busy.

My husband and I come here around this time of the year to sit by cheeryblossom trees and enjoy perfect Thai dishes full of flavors. This is our third year coming here and they still got it!I got my go-to, Basil Catfish with coconut soup, and my hubbie got the Drunken Noodles... All very delicious, mine was with stronger flavors and his was more gentle kind, they balanced so well just like our marriage! 😉*Look how much fresh vegetables come in the bowls- I felt so great, I didnt need to order salad :)

Amazing food as always! The complexity of flavors & continual consistency mean my mouth waters just by saying the name of this restaurant. Service is friendly but not obtrusive & attentive. While there wine list may be small it deliveres nice wine for relatively affordable price. Only thing I would change is that I would ask them to be open for dinner on Sundays!!

Walking into the contemporary and light atmosphere was exactly what I needed after a congested work day. This was my third great experience, over the course of 3 years, this is one of those places you shouldnt allow yourself to get used to if thats even possible...I am stuck ordering the Penang Curry with Lamb or Beef with a side of white rice to frac out the curry and the mounds of fortified freshness and simple passive flavors. The service is top notch, I was not left waiting for so much as a refill but no where frequent enough to be bothered.I will be back!

While waiting for our Amtrak train to pick us up, we had both a couple hours to kill and hunger to satisfy. We took a pleasant 5 minute walk towards downtown Martinez and quickly found a local a Thai restaurant to try, and we werent disappointed. Neither my wife nor I are big fans of curry dishes, but there were plenty of other options to try. My wife chose to order the lettuce wraps from the appetizer menu and have them as her entree.The wraps consisted of crispy little rolls stuffed with pork along with rice noodles, cilantro, cucumber, onions, etc. With, of course, lettuce leaves. The panko crispy coated pork rolls were amazingly crispy and flavorful combined with the fresh veggies and greens on lettuce. What made it even better was this zesty dipping sauce that tied it all together.This same sweet-chili sauce was also served on my choice of dishes, the grilled pork. The pork was sliced thin, grilled to perfection in a sweet marinade of some sort. The sauce also complimented the very generous portion of pork (five large pieces, enough for my wife and I to share and still not be able to finish!).Also available on their non-alcoholic beverage menu was a variety of unusual sodas. I chose the Bundaberg Ginger Beer, from Australia. It was absolutely amazing, and great with the meal. It was so good I got another bottle to take with on our journey.Anyway, I can unreservedly recommend the Lemongrass Bistro. If you have a layover in Martinez, you must give it a try. You wont be disappointed either.

So... The food tasted good. Upper average for this style cuisine, my servers messed up and brought me hot water instead of tea, honest mistake I guess? Then next they took very long to deliver my spring rolls which are a non cooked appetizer they should be quick but somehow 2 couples 4 people in total came in after me and were served their cooked meals before I even got an appetizer..... Just gonna point out of noticed this trend lately some places give really poor service to me and it must be because Im covered in tattoos and Im black/brown... Ive never had super slow service from a Ethiopian or Jamaican or black/brown people establishment but appears that some places just dont want to serve tatted up brown guys.. Jokes on them cause 90% of the time I tip more then those rich white people ever will.*drops mic*

Mango chicken with brown rice is absolutely the best. Add several avocado rolls with peanut sauce and the meal is complete. The staff is friendly and service is great. One of the best places in Martinez for sure. Give them a try and you will become a regular, like me.

Ive had a ton of Thai food being from the bay area and this one is just ok. With the high reviews I thought it was going to be better. I started with the coconut soup with chicken, one of my favorite dishes of all time and it was not as flavorful as ive had in other places. The coconut broth was thin and lacked depth of flavor. I was especially looking forward to the garlic noodles but they were very sweet for some reason. The prawns were a nice add but I didnt enjoy the sweetness of the sauce which tasted a lot like their Pad Thai. I also had the fried catfish dish and enjoyed thar one more. The people were very nice and the restaurant was a bit stark but clean. Portions were generous and food came out at a good pace. Prices are average for the cost of food these days. A solid C for me. There are better Thai spots in Martinez in my opinion, but to each his own. Its worth trying out once to see for yourself.

We had dinner here the other night. The service was subpar, decor was mediocre and the food was semi-descent.I’m Mexican and my friend who invited my wife and I is Patrick Swayze white! His wife and mine are both Korean.Near the end of our meal, a transgender staff member approached our table and made a comment, referencing a movie/comedy with a prominent Asian actress. After both our wives looked at the staff member with confusion, the staff member insisted on continuing the conversation about the Asian actress!My friend’s wife was clearly bothered by the comment the individual made! I made clear gestures to him/her that he/she should stop but, the comments continued without let up!I strongly believe that in a world where transgender individuals are threatened for their safety and whatnot, they are in no position to be poking fun at other people’s ethnicity! I could have easily made references to trans movies, comedies, etc, but I chose the high road!If you have a restaurant with good food but have terrible service or servers that don’t stay in their lane, no matter how great the food maybe, the service or the lack thereof, will always leave a bad taste in your mouth!!

The portion seem to have gotten bigger. Food is fresh and the sauces are amazing. Order the seafood combo for the first time. Did not regret this choice. Salmon was perfect. Scallops, shrimp and calamari combined with the vegetables and curry paired very well.

Lemongrass has served me so many great meals that I would be remiss not to give them a 5 star review!I love their red Curry dishes, they come spicy but I like to kick it up a notch or two in the heat department. Their drunken noodles is also very good.Their lunch specials are all a great value given the quality and quantity of the dishes. Service for me has always been very good.I can highly suggest trying this place for yourself!

Wouldnt recommend. Food was disappointing, the Asian infusions just werent right and missed the authentic taste that I was expecting of Thai food, Ive had better to be honest. Friendly, filling, and DELICIOUS! I went with my wife and mother today. It was a random pick because I got my wife to agree to Thai food. She is NOT a fan.This place changed her mind. All 3 dishes that we got passed her taste test. Both her and my mom clean their plates.The staff was super friendly and attentive, even had suggestions for future visits.We will be returning for sure! It was all good, but nothing wowed me.There wasnt the punch of flavor I was hoping for. The lumpia with the plum sauce was delicious. Ive been going here since it opened. Its right down the street from me and the food is always great! Never had a bad dish here. This is really weird but the water is very fresh tasting here and has lemon or lime in it! Pretty good selection of beer and wine for the size of the place. Havent tried any desserts yet but I certainly will get around to it, they look great!

Very nice dining experience. This place is welcoming and comfortable, but also has a certain class and grace about it. The staff are always very helpful and friendly and very competent. The food is consistent and tastes great. Ive had the yellow curry, the green curry, and the garlic prawns with noodles. All have been delicious and presented nicely.This place gets it right. Lemongrass Bistro is a bright spot in an otherwise often lackluster downtown Martinez - a downtown that has been nearly smothered by a dozen dingy, old antique/souvenir/consignment shops. There are newer places moving into downtown, bringing some life to it, but I credit Lemongrass, along with a few other standout businesses for keeping downtown alive long enough for these newer places to even want to bother.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming which made a great first impression walking through their door for the first time. The food was delicious! Fresh and full of (well-balanced) flavors. Lastly, the prices were very reasonable. I went with a girlfriend I hadnt seen in awhile and we sat for a long while after our meal was done-- catching up, and they continued to refile our waters and check on us, but not in a way that insinuated you need to get a move-on. If you have ever had a delicious green papaya salad, don’t order it here because you’ll be very disappointed! It was almost as bland as an iceberg lettuce salad with no dressing. Had to ask the server to bring me seasoning to try and salvage it. This one had shrimp, which is probably why it was $13, that were overcooked and very chewy. Wish I had tried something else. First time there, and probably last.

It is the best restaurant in Martinez maybe even the whole east bay! Everything Ive ordered was good if not excellent. The food at lunch is good but the dinner is even more excellent. The service is also much better at dinner. The stir fried red curry is to die for but make sure you order the one under stir fry and not the one under currys. I would go there everyday if I could.

It’s like they make up for it by being spicy… which isn’t really an excuse.Two stars for their Pad Thai. I love how their tofu had flavor and the dish was pretty decent because it was classic goopy and nutty.But the waiter? Total whatever. Like he just wanted the world to end because he was doing everything. No finesse or whatsoever. Didn’t even offer us fancy little plates to eat off of. The white people at the other tables got the works, though. So… idk?P.S. I used to eat here and loved it. Now? No. I got glutened too. So if you’re a celiac, don’t eat here. I got lemongrass fried rice. My food was decent, I enjoyed it and I think most of my party also liked their food. Though its not the best Thai food Ive ever had or anything like that. The service was pretty bad, they dont have a designated waiter for us, so its just various people walking by sometimes asking the same question... One guy asked us if we want dessert but then he got distracted and went to help a different table before we decided that we would like to see the dessert menu. The restaurant environment looks nice but it was a warm night and there were a lot of flies flying around our food... If we lived in Martinez we might come back every six months or so, but definitely wont travel to Martinez for this restaurant again.

Downtown, near Courthouse and right on Main street in lovely Oldtown Martinez. Nice, small restaurant with main dining area that is spacious, comfortable and you dont feel like you are packed in too closely to other diners. Reservations were recommended and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Waiter was professional, polite, helpful and took time to guide us through our selections and didnt pressure us to order more than we needed. Food is Thai and was excellent, brought to the table quickly and hot. The sauces in each dish were sublime and perfect for this diner (and our entire party of four) enjoyed a terrific meal. Wine and beer selection is somewhat limited but was still adequate for our needs. Will be sure to return!

My wife and I recently moved to downtown Martinez, and were given a gift certificate from her aunt to go try this place out. We were definitely pleased!We ordered the combo appetizer which was quite tasty, the lemongrass rice with pork, red curry stir fry and one of their specials the panang lamb curry. The rice was simply delicious and our two main courses were perfect.The only problem I had was that my meal was brought out about five minutes before my wifes was, and our initial server essentially neglected us after taking our appetizer order. Someone else came by twice to ask if we had ordered yet and ended up helping us out. This isnt enough to drop a star from the review though, as everything else was exceptional.

Lemongrass Thai has really yummy food. We started with the samosa appetizer, which are tasty little half moon pockets of potatoes and veggies with a sweet citrus sauce. They were spiced to perfection. My vegetarian eggplant dish Thai hot was excellent and my husbands Chicken Pad Thai made him very happy. They have a special Lunch menu and everything I have ever eaten there was made with care. Highly recommend Lemongrass Thai

Great fresh Thai food with a lot of decent vege options. Set in Martinez which has a charming core downtown area with a lot of choice as to where to go for food if you desired something else.The staff are incredibly friendly and gracious. It is a little tight with closely packed tables for a reason. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. There is a train station here which woukd allow easy access from anywhere in the Bay Area.

I was not a Thai food fan until recently and this place is a big reason why I am . Great local Thai place for lunch or dinner. Neat and clean with very pleasant ambiance. The staff is one of the highlights; they are quick, attentive and very friendly without getting up in your proverbial grill. Food is well prepared, served hot and well presented. The yellow curry with chicken is an absolute favorite, and the appetizer sampler is a fantastic mix of items you have to try. Beer list is small but has a few items from Thailand and Laos that are fun to try. Do NOT skip dessert; the tempura bananas sounds weird but is excellent, and if you have never tried sticky rice (I hadnt until I came here) then make sure you do, and I would recommend adding Coconut ice cream to it as well. Overall the kind of place you find yourself going back to regularly because it is consistently good and such a pleasant overall experience.

Thai food. I love Thai food in general, but after awhile, most places seem to taste the same. Especially of note are Thai joints local to my area. Theyre good, but it always seems like there a little something lacking. Even a spot like Tuk Tuk Thai can only be deemed decent by moi. The fact that Lemongrass Bistro is around gives me the answer Im looking for: a resounding YES.This is one of those places that can truly be called a hidden gem. I am not in Martinez all that often... at all, really. A friend of mine suggested it when we were oh so hungry one fateful Sunday afternoon. We walked up and down Main St., looking for something good and unique. We settled on this joint. I immediately enjoyed the environs: chill music, simple yet stylish decor, and a very relaxed atmosphere in general. We took a window table, so we had a nice view of the outside (Main St. looks awesome, by the way.)Our waiter promptly brought out our menus and some waters as well. Browsing over the menu, I could see that this wasnt a straight up Thai place. Still, many of the dishes seemed to have a strong Thai influence, so it felt like Thai food to me. Apologies if that makes me sound ignorant. At any rate, we decided to order the appetizer sampler platter, mango chicken, and the grilled beef. Literally just a few minutes later, out came the appetizers. Appetizers were awesome: lumpia, avocado spring rolls, and chicken satay. So good and exactly enough for 2 to share. Heck, Itd make a great stand-alone meal if one so desired. Came with a spicy sauce and a peanut sauce. Unlike most Thai places, this peanut sauce was less thick and sweet. Thats definitely a good thing. A few mere minutes more, and out came our main dishes. HUGE portions, let me tell you. We shared our dishes and we still got nice and satisfied. The mango chicken was flavorful and juicy. The grilled beef was extremely tender and juicy as well. The food was excellent overall.I am now definitely a big fan of Lemongrass Bistro. I will be sure to return... as I also need to hit up that wine bar thats inside. Did I forget to mention that? Awesome awesome spot. DO hit this place up, for sure.

This place was delicious! Busy but delicious. The area is nice, Martinez has really fixed up their downtown. The service was a bit slower, but I suspect that was due to global warming... Or perhaps because it was busy 😋
