The closest you can get to having sushi in Japan. The quality and service is great here. Only come here for real sushi. Sure, they got cut rolls and stuff but you should only be here for sushi. The way its meant to be eaten.

I love Light and Healthy, its so freaking amazing. I grew up eating here and moved to Santa Barbara, but I still make trips to take my family there whenever I can. There is no sushi this good in SB!! Love Jack and the team. It may seem a little expensive, but the all you can eat is a great deal, and you wont find sushi this good around.

Light & Healthy is THE BEST SUSHI IN CALIFORNIA! Maybe I should say in the West coast, I now live in Washington state and ever time I travel to the Santa Clara area I have to stop here. So essentially I traveled 1100 miles for this deliciousness! I’ve have turned so many people on to this place! Every time we bring new people they love the fish 🐠 & they continue to bring people. The fish is fresh and the cuts are perfect as they melt in your mouth. It’s a very small place that opens for dinner at 5 so get there at 5 to get a seat or you will be waiting. They do have all you can eat it’s expensive but if you are hungry it’s worth it. Thank you Jack for all your years of service there as a sushi Chef.

She was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.When we first sat down, greeted us promptly and offered us a drink. She then took the time to explain the menu to me and answer any questions I had. I ordered a variety of sushi rolls and appetizers, and Alexia made sure that everything came out correctly and in a timely manner.Overall, I was very impressed with Alexias service. She was new to the restaurant, but she did an amazing job. friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I would definitely recommend dining at light and healthy sushi bar and requesting Alexia as your server.

This place is a Hidden gem! Fish is sooo fresh it feels like I caught the fish myself. Spicy Salmon salad is my absolute favorite a must try! I forgot what roll this was I think it was tuna but its the best!

Friendly service, especially the male waiter (unfortunately we didnt get his name), who chatted with us like an old friend. He gave my brother a t-shirt who was visiting from out of town! Food wise its pretty good. You dont get much of the fancy rolls you do at other sushi restaurants, though. But overall the quality was good. We also tried the chicken teriyaki dinner combo plate which was quite a lot of food and decent. We will try them again soon and focus more on the sushi. ☺️

I guess it could be considered reasonable price wise if we consider the inflation but in my opinion it’s a little Overpriced and not the best customer service but it’s very fresh seafood. One of the things I didn’t like at all is that if you choose all you can eat sushi, you have to be sitting on the bar which is ridiculous. Also per sign there you should eat within an hour.

Been a loyal patron since 1996 and still my favorite place. Spicy tuna salad, salmon with avocado and serrano, smelt egg with quail egg always for desert. Mickey is a sweetheart, Miguel is the man, and hats off to Yochi and Herman.

I’ve been going to Light & Healthy for nearly 20 years and it’s always been a great experience. This is THE spot for AYCE - they have a tasty spicy tuna salad, salmon, yellowtail, albacore and all the yummy sashimi or sushi you can eat. This is not the spot to go if you like all the fancy rolls because thats not their specialty. Go here for fresh fish and come hungry!

The lack of service did it for me. If you are not one of their regulars, you are better off going elsewhere, had to ask for straws for my table 2 times, our food didn’t get to the table In the sequence the orders where placed, other tables got their orders before mine, I had to ask for ginger and wasabi and one of my rolls was parade all over the restaurant till they finally figured it was mine. I think the only thing that made it to my table quickly was the Check when I finally was able to get the waitress attention. Definitely would not recommend or go back.

Literally the place I dream about regularly.My all time favorite sushi place, no others compare. Its simplistic, fresh, and consistently amazing, but is not your typical ayce sushi place with a ton of specialty rolls, lots of sauce, and high volume ordering. Its traditional sushi, hand rolls and cut rolls, but theyre absolutely amazing. Most customers are 20+ year patrons which speaks volumes!

This is possibly my favorite sushi restaurant Ive ever been to. Used to be a regular 20 years ago and now I return every single time I come back to visit.Food rocks! Staff rocks! Love my light & Healthy. It was my 1st time experience. Long ago been there forever and always quality. Has an all u can eat for an hour and unless they r super busy w no seating always let me go over my hour no extra charge. Has the yummy ice cream desert which they added a bonus when i went for my birthday complimentary naturally. Been to lots of sushi places but always come back for light & healthy

Great sushi, super fresh. The reason for 3 stars really. Lost two because they give you limits on what you can order. At almost $48 dollars for AYCE, its a little ridiculous to tell me I can only have 3 orders of salmon per person. With a one hour cap for AYCE. Very little to choose from but like I said what is available is fresh. Felt like I was being pushed out when we reached 1 hr and 20 mins. Which is fine but most places its 2 hrs and no one was really there at 7pm on a Tuesday. Also if you think you and another ayce can share, dont. I dont like eel and my husband loves it, only 3 orders per person. So I ordered my 3 for him, got told by the chef you cant do that.

Exceeded my expectations. All you can eat sushi is generally synonymous with colon cleansers and fragranced refuse but this place has changed my perspective. I read the reviews before dropping in and was surprised how much fanfare the place had. The scope of 20+ year customers who raved about it made me curious and heck that is either a good sign or a collection of the longest lasting immune systems I am aware of. I was actually impressed by this place and got very lucky as a 10+ year customer came in and shared with me her favorites which were all very good. So, if you have a desire to give the words all you can eat sushi a second chance at life, try this place out. The cost is $32 which is not cheap but when you look at what you get for it, it makes perfect sense. So go hungry, spend an hour in the place and go home without a stomach ache, smell of fish on you or that gag reflex that most all you can eat rubber causes. This place is legit.

Good quality fish. Great people. AYCE here too! However, it is limited. Just note that they do not have special rolls. This place has a purest theme to it, which I can respect. So if youre looking for big variety, it is not here. When we got there, there was a line, so expect to wait if you show up after it opens.

I am only twelve but I have been coming here for all of my life this is my all time favorite restaurant. This is my family’s favorite “go to restaurant”. I can honestly tell any sushi lover that, that’s where they need to go. The sushi is always fresh and cut very nicely. I know all of the staff and they are all very friendly. My eight year old sister and I love this place along with all of my family. This has the best sushi ever and greatly surpasses all other sushi/Japanese restaurants. BEST SUSHI EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great sushi! I recommend the spicy scallop roll and miso soup. Only reason for 4 stars is that they seem to be short staffed and at times it was difficult to find someone to get drink refills, add on to our order, etc. However, it was very busy and the staff there were definitely working their butts off!

Food was great quality and the people are super friendly but they have a very limited ayce menu with limits on the good stuff like eel sushi. The bill came out to over $100 for my girlfriend and I plus the menu was only basic sushi and basic rolls (avocado, california, cucumber). Unless the price dropped dramatically I wouldnt come back.

Stumbled upon this place by accident, been back regularly since.Small neighborhood sushi joint. Good sushi, nice people. One of the first sushi joints in the Santa Clarita Valley. Opened in 1986.Great find. highly recommend.

From out of the area, wanted a quiet evening in the hotel. We ordered several items, 15 minutes later we were out the door. Food was incredible, our favorites... the cucumber salad was perfect and un like any other weve had, the yelow tail was very fresh and the california roll was perfect.The place itself isnt great for a romantic evening, but the food was awesome.

I rarely take time to write a review. But I was just getting the address for a someone and saw the review section and decided I should weigh in. Ive been to Tokyo and learned to eat sushi there before it was such a hot thing its been for years now. I swear Light and Healthy is the best sushi Ive had since Japan. And thats saying a lot. I worked 11 years for a Japanese company and been to what was the considered among the best sushi places there. And, since we had a steady stream of japanese colleagues coming here to CA, we ended up over the years picking out the best LA area sushi places to take the japanese guys who didnt like american food. So, Im a pretty savvy sushi eater. And,,,,Light and Healthy is the only place I want to go to. Im known as a sushi snob among my family and friends, and I usually just dont really enjoy it anywhere else. This is not your gringo sushi place though, keep that in mind. Youre not going to find cream cheese in anything. Its not a california roll place. Youll find a more traditional japanese experience. If you go a few times, you can just sat down and say surprise me and youll be surprised!! Have fun! Order frozen sake (cant really find it anywhere else). You wont be disappointed. Also, if youre new to sushi, tell them!! Theyre break you in slowly.

Nothing about it was lighter or healthier in any novel way. It was all frozen, some poorly because the texture was mushy. The fish was all bland. Maybe it was served too cold, but I doubt that was all of it. The server kept trying to get me to cover the flavor of the subpar fish with masking sauces.

The best Sushi Bar I have ever visited!!! The portions are bigger than anywhere else. The quality of food is undoubtedly superior to other places. The temperature of the sushi is ideal!!
