Came with a large group from work. Ordered a large assortment of appetizers and entrees. All of them were really good! They came out quickly, had lots of flavour and good portion sizes. Cocktails were stronger than expected but tasted great! Would definitely go back again

Mauricio was our server and he was EXTREMELY attentive ! The food was amazing and the service was just as good ! We went to celebrate my brothers birthday and they sang happy birthday to him and made him feel so special ! Will definitely be returning again

Still the best restaurant, work happy hour and dinner, and date spot in all of the Mission. I personally pick it as number one in the city.The Seco is now bone-in short rib made made medium rare and mouth watering tender. There is a new pep and attentiveness to the service; which I appreciate. The music has changed to more trendy secular music; which is a must in this day and age. Overall the presentation of all of the dishes seems to have been up leveled.Dishes start at around $14, but it is now a place that I’m happy to pay $30+ for a dish at.This place has 3 of my favorite dishes in the city. With my new favorite being a recent addition. The fish of the day. The drinks are always fantastic and the service is top notch. It’s lovely enough to be a dinner date spot and casual enough to be a quick launch haunt. I’m a huge fun and I’m sure you will be also.

I heard great things about Limons ceviche so we ordered the ceviche mixto for pickup during my visit last summer. It ended up being $26.I thought there was a bit too much fish in the ceviche mixto relative to the other ingredients. Fish is definitely my least favorite ceviche seafood component in general, and it didnt taste great. I liked the ceviche sauce but I didnt like the seafood. The sides of big corn and crunchy corn were good.Overall the ceviche flavor was good but the seafood was pretty meh.

I cant tell you how delighted my family and I are to have found Limón on lively Valencia Street in San Francisco. We were able to get a reservation during Geezer Hour (5-6:00pm) when the upstairs had few people. This is relevant to the sound levels which, by the time we left, found quite loud. The excellent service and inspired dishes compensated for the difficulty we had in speaking over the music and voices of other patrons toward the end of the meal. We look forward to eating at Limón again!March 2024: Discovered Pisco Sours by the pitcher, tasty cauliflower and other delights.

Please make sure to carefully review your bill. Otherwise, you may be charged $2 for each sauce you didnt order, and $4 for the chips you didnt receive. Additionally, only half of the dozen oysters we ordered arrived.Its important to thoroughly check every order you receive and be mindful of potential extra charges for items listed as sides on the menu, not the extra ones!

I loved this place. My friends took me here for my birthday. The staff were kind enough to sing Happy birthday for me. Our server was very nice and changed our order after they brought the food and we realized we made the mistake of ordering the wrong thing. The food was amazing. I had a blast.

Ceviche was great! Good portion to share. Was a little underwhelmed with the octopus. Really tiny compared to the price and not that tasty. I’d see this as a good place to catchup, but only if you get seated upstairs or away from the kitchen. Was really loud during dinner so hard to hear and enjoy food.

Really good atmosphere and service. Food is really based on personal preference. The ceviche is tasty but not outstanding (maybe its because i dont know how to appreciate this dish/type of cuisine). Steak frites is 9/10. Meat is not the most flavourful or tender but really decent. The sauce and rice combo is a real treat.

I come to this place with an expectation that the roast chicken would be unprecedented because of the hype. Well, the roast chicken is indeed good but not to the level that surprised me. However, the ceviche! I am usually skeptical with the ceviche because it tends to be small and one dimensional flavor - sour. Worse than that, bland. However, the ceviche here is rich. I love how creative it is to put fried items in the ceviche without being soggy. There are fun things to chew on along fresh seafood. Oh yes the snapper is very fresh. And most importantly, the dressing for the ceviche that we got is not only sour but had a kick of chili and shallots. I wiped the plate with the yuca fries and chips. Would love to try other ceviches and other dishes more next time.

I had dinner here the other night and had an excellent meal. However, when the bill arrived it was much higher than expected. You dont receive a paper itemized bill, instead they just tell you the total and you pay on a portable device. We tipped and left but realized afterwards that we were overcharged by $20 not including tip. Were still unsure of the extra charges so beware of the lack of transparency when paying at this restaurant.

I came here with a large group (10-15 of us) and it was such a great space! We started with the empanadas and ceviche for appetizers along with some taro chips with amazing dips. Then we got pitchers of their legendary Pisco Sours and Margaritas.The appetizers were so good, but the main course was even better. Our group was seating umbrae the kitchen, so you can literally see the rotisserie chicken coming out and the fire behind it! So cool. We ordered a few half chickens to share, and it was so tender and delicious. The lamb, steak, salad, and everything else was so good. And we had to end with a delicious chocolate dessert!The staff were really kind and made sure we were good 👍

Good thing we made a reservation before going cos when we got there the place was packed and there was a long line. Crowded and under staffed. Food took a long time to arrive but was not entirely disappointed.We had the Fiesta Platter with beef Empanadas, and the Chicharon de Pollo. The Mac n Cheese that came with it was obviously a filler. After reading their older menus, this used to be a Seafood Jalea. If theyre trying to cut costs, I rather they not have it at all and focus more on the parts that actually taste good/matter. It was absolutely tasteless, bland, and overcooked. The pollo carried this dish; like a one man band.The Polli Papas just like the platter had filler food, but unlike the platter it was more than 1/3 of the dish. Theres a mountain of french fries as photographed. Well if I wanted a dish of french fries, 🍟 I wouldnt be disappointed. But the selling point for this on the menu was the chicken which sadly, was under portioned, cast aside, forgotten about. It was tasteless, like an after thought. This was topped off with a sprinkle of processed desert like twigs labeled as cheese. Sorry, Ill pass.As for the 1/4 rotisserie chicken with Yuca fries and zucchini, they were nothing much to write home about. We were unsure if the sauces were meant for this dish, even so, everything on this plate was overcooked and under seasoned. If youve gotten this far down my review, Im gonna level with you. The zucchini was a total waste of time, resources, and my money. Why was it labeled as Chifa Vegetables when all it was was sad mushy zucchinis.The Ceviche was the only redeeming dish for the entire experience. Fresh fish in a moat of zesty orange dressing. The citrus notes, and the spicy heat as an after taste gave it a mouth watering zing!The Mai Tai was hard and sweet. Decent, but as tall as the vessel was, ice was the majority.TLDR:The Ceviche de Pescado is the only dish Id come back for.

Great service except for an instance where we received one of the four dishes we ordered separately and after 30-40 minutes. We asked them to take it back as we were already done with our dinner and they took it out of our tab.The drinks were great and nicely decorated, but two out of the three tasted exactly the same (both mezcal based). The food was very average and very salty which is never a good sign. I had the beef tongue dish and it was chewy and didnt have the delicateness I expected.

I enjoyed dining here but not enough to say I absolutely loved it. The 1/2 chicken we ordered was a little dry, and the side order of Jasmine rice was also a bit stale. The yuca fries were excellent though. The assorted empanadas were good and fun to share, but I prefer a flakier crust. Pulpo was well seasoned but a tad bit too tough for my taste. 5 stars go to the pisco sours though!! Really good cocktails for the price ☺️

This place was jam packed full of people on a Saturday night, glad we made a reservation and only had to wait a few minutes. The food was good, ceviche was definitely the flavor highlight. We also order the half chicken, if you like a heavily seasoned and salty skin, this will be your favorite. Also ordered the lomo saltado, after having had so many different ones in my time, this did not make it to my top 5 unfortunately. The pisco sour was great, and well prepared, balanced out the flavors of the food just right.

First of all, the server stole money from me by incorrectly reporting the total bill (left themselves an even larger tip). I suppose this could have been an accident but the amount I left was written very clearly... Unfortunately the food was really disappointing. Despite the nice presentation and high prices, both seafood dishes were gross, and overly salty as others have said. It was mostly over cooked calamari and not much flavor aside from salt. I had come here years ago and liked it so it seems to have gone downhill.

We received our entree appx. 10seconds after our appetizer was set down. I had the lomo saltado. It was bitter. Burnt. I couldn’t tell if it was from the sauce or the steak itself. “It must have been an off day for the kitchen team.” We also had the panna cotta for dessert.

The fiesta platter was a great way to sample a variety of items. The beef empanadas and chicken were good. I loved the plantains and the yuca fries were great too!The beef from the lomo saltado was tender and my husband was obsessed with the rice from this dish. The preparation was definitely elevated from plain rice.We arrived at opening on Sunday and were seated immediately. Started with a pitcher of Sangria for the table with the trio ceviche enough for 3-4 people and I loved trying the different dressing that goes with each type of ceviche.Their lyche sour and kycheemelon drinks were also fantasticFor dinner I Had the half chicken and it was cooked to perfection and so tender. Nearly as good as the chicken Ive had in Lima. Tried a bunch of the sides as well which were all delicious including the Mac and cheese, grilled veggies, and yuca fries. Also tried the lebgua and it was incredibly juicy and tender. Nothing like any other lengua ive had before.Service was very quick and the atmosphere of the place was also very up eat and fun. Definitely recommend for some good Peruvian food.

Limon on Valencia ALWAYS a good choice. Perfectly executed Sours. We had the regular Pisco, the lychee and the passion fruit sour. All delicious, the passion fruit was the most tart, reminiscing of kalamansi. All 3 distinct, all 3 delicious.That Peruvian Pollo is always a winner winner chicken dinner. So moist, such full flavored skin, served as a mountainous family portion. Ceviches all delicious, again perfect execution. Really accessible flavors, homey, not overly refined or designer like LaMar, better in my opinion. Large selection of ceviches and other sea food, so enticing! Didnt get to dessert.Service was perfect, super friendly and accommodating. Provided explanations that were short, concise, relatable. Our waiter was training a new waiter and they worked seamlessly in unison, never missing a beat nor intrusive in our merriment. We were a table of 8 and closed the joint down on a Tuesday night. Place was fully booked.Highly recommend! Super fun, not a missed flavor at all.Oh, when we arrived, the fan was out and the room was smokey and way humid. The copa is hands down my favorite! La copa is so good! I got the spicier version and it was amazing! I recommend getting the copa if you enjoy aguachiles or ceviche.Their drink are pretty good! The ceviche is delicious. I ordered the trio and couldn’t choose a best one, they were all flavorful in their own way. I recommend getting the extra order of taro chips on the side because they don’t come with many in the order itself. If you are looking for a non-alcoholic refreshing drink, I highly recommend the chicha morada—it’s made with purple corn, fruit and spices. It kind of tastes like a lighter mulled wine, not too sweet and not too sour! The bar service was great, and the staff were very friendly. There are also electric outlets under the bar which was a lifesaver b/c my phone was about to die. When I’m in SF again, I will definitely go back.

I enjoyed the food experience here so much! The rotisserie chicken is full of flavor and I also loved trying the fried yuca and empanadas. I think what excites me about Peruvian food are all the various sauces that can be used. I’m certainly going to come back and try the ceviche dishes next time. Only item that didn’t make me so happy was the service. They were really busy on a Saturday night but I had to ask on 4 occasions to get my beverage and they only have it when I was 70% done with my meal.

We were seated quickly with our reservation, the waiter was friendly and helpful. we asked to have the lomo saltado made medium, but it came out piping hot, which it has in the past, but also fully cooked, which hurt the texture arguably. The ceviche with shrimp and octopus was delicious, downside is it cost an additional $3 for chips. The rotisserie chicken is consistent as always and arguably the best deal. Ive always had great memories but this one was a bit less fantastic than what I remember.

Food is good, with rotisserie chicken and ceviche, paired with a side of taro chips, at the top of the list, but the last time we came here in a party of four, they automatically charged us 20% gratuity. The menu (pic attached) states that gratuity is only added to the check for parties of 10 or more. Although our server was gracious, we were mostly an afterthought as the staff catered to larger parties around us. I normally tip 20% or more for outstanding service so this underhanded tactic was pretty off-putting.

Robust menu with authentic Peruvian dishes. Arroz con mariscos is hearty but salty. Peruvian rotisserie chicken was delicious - moist, with crispy skin. Side salad and fries were good - and WELL portioned! Empanadas were also large and tasty. Jalea was so big it couldve been an entree, not an appetizer! Food was pretty good, ambience is really loud - but feeling robbed. They charged a 4% “economic recovery fee” in 2024.. No one else is doing that anymore and 4% is high on top of already quite high prices. I don’t believe sales tax was properly calculated either. Really bad service. Rude waitress. Brought me food with allergens after I told her I had a severe wheat/gluten allergy. Awful timing bringing dishes out. Very expensive and small portions.Before I ordered I told our server I was allergic to gluten and she arrogantly told me gluten could not be in a sauce, that gluten is a food. After I politely insisted she check with the chef anyway whether or not the soy sauce was gluten free, she begrudgingly talked to him, only to come back and tell me what I already knew- that gluten can in fact be in sauces and the thing she just told me was gluten free actually did have gluten in it. I could not believe how rude she was about it. Gluten free soy sauce is indeed a thing. And I shouldnt have to beg a server to check on a common allergen like that.After all of that she let me order a food item that said crispy in the description. Im not sure how it is my fault that crispy did not translate to battered and deep fried. And after having a very uncomfortable back/forth with her about my allergies she let me order it without mentioning it had wheat in it and was deep fried. Ive never had a waiter fail to connect the dots and warn me about something with allergens in it after bringing it up.She acted like it was my fault for ordering it after I specifically told her I was allergic to wheat and gluten and rudely shoved a menu in my face to prove her point. At no point was I rude to her so I have no idea where she got off acting like that.Service was bad, all of this aside. They brought our appetizers out quickly, then almost immediately brought my partners entree out, which was beef. I ordered ceviche. It was almost comical watching the staff try to cram so many dishes on our small table when we hadnt even finished our salad. They did not give us enough time to make space at the table and it was nearly impossible to eat without bumping something.My *first* ceviche came out about 15 minutes after my partners beef entree so my partner sat there letting her food get cold because she didnt want to be rude and eat without me. Ive never eaten anywhere that served entrées so far apart. She had time to completely finish hers before mine came out. I insisted she do because I didnt want it to get cold.After sending the first ceviche back it took another 15-20 minutes to get the next one. So before I had a single bite of my entree, my partner had been done eating for 30~ minutes.Not to mention our server ignored us the entire night except when my partner had to flag her down as she raced past our table. She came to replace our cocktails once but made very little effort otherwise. She left the empty glasses on our table and a few minutes later a random busboy came and took them.She didnt even bring us the dessert menu and this was on my partners birthday. We wanted to get cake but at that point we were both feeling like the server was either being homophobic or just otherwise rude to us so we paid and left.I only tipped because I didnt want to make a scene but for a $190 dinner they could do a LOT better. I would not go back after this experience. Its a shame because the food tasted good and I love the Walnut Creek location which is a completely different experience.

First time visiting Limon Rotisserie in the heart of the Mission District (16th and Valencia) but it won’t be my last. Limon Rotisserie is not only a great restaurant, it has a fantastic history / story, several locations in the Bay Area and Hawaii, and celebrity endorsements (Golden State Warriors). Limon Rotisserie is a Family Owned Peruvian Restaurant serving authentic pervuvian dishes, American infused cuisine, and great drinks. I went during the evening (after 5:00 pm) and I would recommend a reservation if possible. If you don’t have a reservation, dining at the bar is an option because it’s open seating. The host at the door was kind enough to sit us, but, he added the caveat of needing our table in an hour, for a reserved guest. Limon has three types of seating; bar, up, and downstairs seating. We sat upstairs and it was comfortable. The food was fantastic (see the pictures), I ordered the veggie empanadas (you get 3), sweet potato fries (good quantity), and a mashed potato and shrimp dish. The quality of the food was great! This is a great place of large parties or a night out with your partner.

Incredible food, incredible staff. We order some food for the three of us but one of the main dishes never arrived. We queried it after a while and we were told it was on its way. It didn’t arrive but the manager came over to us to apologise and he explained what had happened and ensured us that the missing main was coming. He was so apologetic and told us he was taking that main dish off our bill as it was there error. When the missing main arrived it was amazing so the next time we saw the waiter we asked him to put the main back on the bill as we wanted to pay for it. He refused and told us it was their fault for the delay and they cannot accept a payment for it. La Copa was the best ceviche in the city, the perfect mix of fresh seafood, fried calamari and leche de Tigre, to my disappointment it was recently taken off the menu. I have been to Limon numerous times throughout my years living in SF and I never have anything bad to say about this restaurant. However recently I came back and I can’t believe they pulled a tourist trap on me. The server asked if I wanted still or sparkling water, and I asked for still. Which in all other restaurants in SF means tap water aka free water, not Bottled Still Water. She came back with an opened $7 Bottled Still Water - her defense was that it said still on the bottle. What a clown, I am not a tourist and experienced restaurants patron. It’s pathetic to pull off something like this on local customers. Sorry to say it’s Limon it’s somewhat upscale, but you are not at the level of restaurant that will automatically sell Bottled Premium water to your customer as default. I’ve been to numerous Michelin starred restaurants and they served tap still water when asked for still. After having the $7 water I realized the chicken are actually fairly bland now, nothing more special than the one sold at grocery stores. They removed the beef tounge and the crispy chicken with lime from the menu long time ago. Well no more reason to comeback.

This place used to be my favorite restaurant for a casual night out in 2014. It’s gone increasingly downhill and has disappointed the last 3 times I have gone. Never going again. The worst part is, they used to have a deliciously roast mixed vegetable side. Greedy owner tacks on a BS 4% “economic recovery fee” at the end. This is outrageously disingenuous. The American rescue act established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund and it does not run out until March 2023. This owner is charging you to support his business three ways: with your tax dollars, actual food and service and now this dreamt up fee. I guarantee you none of it goes to the staff!Support better bosses and better business. It’s SF, you can get world class food at every corner.

Went to this place by recommendation, at 5 pm they were not busy with plenty sits available but they still have 90 minutes limit per visit. My server (Omar, was his name I think) was nice and responsive, friendly guy. Bus people was super fast too, i liked them a lot, very positive. Food arrived very quickly, there were no outside heaters.By the time of my visit all Peruvian beer was unavailable, so I ordered beer made in UK, which was made in Ohio, US as clearly was written on a can.Food had an average taste, was little oversalted, and Saltado del Pollo had a lot of oil on a bottom so i didnt finished it. Tres Leche and Peruvian coffee was a highlight of my dinner but keep in mind they dont have any creamers. Overall I left rather satisfied than not.

Been here a few times. Always a solid experience. The staff is pretty flexible for walk-ins, service is fast as well. Great peruvian food, I personally think they really nail the Lomo Saltado and the desserts.

Let me just start with saying the food here is incredibly worth searching for parking. (Parking is a problem during busy times) Rotisserie chicken, bomb. Empanadas, succulent. Dont even get me started on the Amarillo sauce & the vinaigrette🤤🤤 Mouthwatering. Too bad it was a little loud and busy, but it was Saturday Night. Overall, this place is a must try for lovers of Peruvian Cuisine.

Horrible Service; will never go back. We had an early reservation. Walked in and the Hostess sat is in a corner with 4 other tables near a drafty window. The entire restaurant was empty! I asked if we could be moved and seated anywhere else. She told us NO and left! Waited forever to place our order and when we did, we found out a favorite appetizer was no longer available on the menu. By this time we were freezing so we just got up and left. Terrible service and attitude. Too many good Peruvian restaurants to choose from in the Bay Area to put up with this.

This is the original Limon Restaurant. The place is smaller than the other subsidiaries. However, the food is as good or better. We went with the traditional Pollo y papa, the lomo saltado, half chicken with yuca, and the empanadas. The cocktails were excellent too. Overall, Limon is just a fantastic spot for Peruvian food. Highly recommended.

I SO love there Sangrias! They never disappoint. Also cant go wrong with ordering the empanadas. Chicken is always seasoned good nice and savory. Food is prepared fast, hot and fresh. The atmosphere in this place is lively and a good social scene. It can get busy in the early evenings so maybe call ahead for a reservation. I could totally eat here once a week. Its a little pricey but worth it.

Limón is one of my favorite Peruvian restaurants in the city! Perfect for a work event or a night out with friends. Service is very quick and there is a nice ambiance. I recommend the Lomo Saltado, Truffle Mac & Cheese, Whole/Half Chicken, Tacu-Tacu and Yuca Fries. And most importantly.... a few sides of the Ají Amarillo Sauce (I dream about this sauce!).

I really wanted to like the place. I got the Arroz Con Pollo and the fiesta platter. We all like the pork skins. The beef empanadas were good but maybe a little cold. None of us were impressed by the mac and cheese. I really enjoyed my Arroz Con Pollo but the first half of the service was terrible our waitress during the last half service saved it.

Wow. One of the best ceviches Ive ever had. All sorts of tender, yet firm, seafood in a delicious and perfectly flavored citrus juice. The tilapia on the lunch menu was also great - big portions! I wish I had taken a couple of photos but the dishes were gone before I realized my mistake. Thats a good sign.

Generally when I go back to a reataurant to have a dish that I enjoyed less than a year ago I expect it to be the same. Thats one of my criteria for a restaurant being considered good.The first time I went there I had a fantastic mushroom dish that drew me back there two more times. We ordered two main dishes with beef on them and both were overcooked. We ate only one of them and left most of the second one. Despite of complaining to the waiter, they didnt even offer replacing it or even a reduced price.Place was packed and they brought the appetizers at the same time with the main dishes so we had to rush through the dinner so things wont get cold.Im giving them a second star because appetizers and drinks were pretty good but they surely need to work on their timings and customer service.

This place has amazing food! Its tapas style, so the plates are smaller. The queso empenadas had a great taste. The fried chicken appetizer was some of the best fried chicken Ive had! I must say I was very impressed with the food quality of this place! Ive never eaten Peruvian food before, but now I will definitely be back! We decided on the whole chicken since there was a group of us, and that is their specialty. It is rotisserie style, and the flavor was so tasty! This location is extremely loud and crowded. The service was great but we were seated by two groups that had 12+ in each group and they were drunk and loud. The staff seemed to have lost control of the group and gave up trying to reign them in as they just got louder and continued to order several more rounds of drinks. Our food took awhile and was just okay by the time we got it. Ive been to other locations and would consider going to those instead of this one.

Visited on a Friday night and it was fully booked, so I sat on the bar (they serve food there too). Ordered half chicken with fries and salad, and a beer. The food was good and it wasnt very expensive. The service was very good and they have big screens showing sports (NBA etc). Id recommend this place for a chilled night out.

Trying to stay healthy, we had the roasted vegetables with a side salad, and both were just as flavorful but the veggies were slightly over-salted.If not taking public transportation, a parking garage is available one block away, as well as metered street parking and valet.

Really delicious slow roasted chicken. They offer an expansive cocktail menu and a variety of sides. The service is always fantastic and they are one of the few places in SF that is designed for groups. Skip out on their rotisserie chicken - it has the texture of cotton.Got their pre fixed menu for our group of 8+. Their rotisserie chicken + fried chicken were so dry that our group could not stomach it. We left most of the chicken untouched because every bite felt like we were chewing on cotton balls. There was sauce for us to dip, but not enough to cover the whole chicken.At least their truffle Mac n cheese and desserts were good though.

I had Trio Ganador and it was so water-down that it was quite disappointing. The other 2 dishes are ok but also overpriced. Our server never smiled, had a long face like we owned him money. Came to this nice restaurant from out of town and it was quite busy. Great atmosphere and very crowded. It was EXRTREMELY loud here with music up very loud. It almost felt like everybody was shouting. Food came out very quickly and was decently good. Ordered dessert which took almost 3x longer than the food to come out strangely enough. Then was told they dont split bills so we divided it up among ourselves and then said that they cannot charge more than 5 cards so one person had to pay cash.
