This Chinese restaurant looks and feels like a truly authentic spot you’d see in tv shows and movies. The waitress was good as gold. She was happy to serve us and constantly had a smile on her face. Each item we ordered was absolutely delicious.

We love this place! Everything is the real deal and delicious! Our special favorites are the hot and sour soup, the dry fried pork ribs, green beans and (Surprise!) Pumpkin, and the yummy walnut prawns. If you like Chinese restaurants, I think youll love this one.

I dont know why its taken me so long to write a review for this place. My family has pretty much been going here consistently for about 15 years now and it never disappoints! Our true go to restaurant that makes everyone in the family happy! The food here will satisfy all your Chinese food cravings! And everything is always so delicious! Their portions are generous and their waitstaff is always so kind! Truly love this place.

I love this place! Ive been going since I was a kid and the food quality has remained great. Its run by a friendly nice family. You have to go during lunch time to get their lunch soup (the best egg drop soup Ive ever had). I honestly adore this place and I want them to cater my wedding. I usually have the sesame chicken, chow mein, chicken fried rice and broccoli beef and all these are great! The music is so relaxing and since its in a weird location it feels like a hidden gem thats almost never crowded.

The food was good and had a genuinewok-hey taste. We ordered a lot of food but the most memorable was the fried rice and the beef cheung-fun. The first time we came here years ago the dishes had a good amount of food on them. As years werent by the amount of food started to get smaller and smaller. After getting more plays than good we stopped visiting the restaurant for several years. This year we decided to have an after Thanksgiving family get together and booked a reservation for 16 people and I was surprised that the amount of food that came on the plate was plentiful and delicious. Knowing this, I will start coming here again to get my Chinese food.May 26, 2023 update: came here for a quick evening outing. We went half an hour before they closed so we ordered really quickly and the staff was very nice and the food came out fast. We ordered our usual favorites which were the BBQ pork fried rice, salt & pepper dry fried fish, salt & pepper pork rib, beef cheung-fun, stir-fried garlic pea-vine. All the dishes were delicious except the pea vine vegetables which was a bit gritty with sand. I think the cooks were rushing to finish the dishes since it was closing time and didnt rinse the vegetables good enough. The staff was very friendly and personable even though it was past closing by the time we finished eating. Id still come here for food, its one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area.

Went in to get a bite. The woman working there immediately asked what I wanted. When I wasnt immediately ready she threw her pen down on the counter. When I said I needed to look at a menu she gave me a lunch menu. When I asked if it was still lunch she said no. Then I asked her what the prices are then and she got more angry. So I left. I dont need anything that bad. No thanks I wont be back. 😆

I came in for lunch to go on a Tuesday and they were SO busy! The server was swamped, but very friendly. I ordered szechwan beef and fried rice…. It wasn’t what I was expecting cause it was very juicy and sweet? (Kinda like orange chicken?) so maybe they gave me the wrong order. It was still pretty good though. Fried rice was excellent.

So I gave this place only 2 stars because although the food was good I wasnt impressed by their customer service. Lunch is served until 4pm and we got there like 10 minutes till so upon being seated were given the main menu and two lunch menus. Well after sitting there for 20 minutes for someone to take our order a lady walked up and switched the lunch menu to dinner ones, gave us all of 2 minutes to look at them then wanted our order. At this point I was ready to walk out seeing as how we were ignored long enough to make the switch from lunch to dinner then be rushed. But since it was our first visit and prices wasnt the point we stayed. The food was good but had to reorder the chow mein cause the server didnt get it the first time, anything and everything extra had to be asked for and lastly when boxing up the leftovers they put 2 different items per box. I dont think Ill be going back?

I just discovered this fabulous Chinese restaurant. Having lived in San Franciscos Chinatown, I gave really picky tastes and this restaurant hit all the bells and whistles!! I was very impressed and hope to visit during the weekend morning to see if they have dim sum or juuk.

Peking duck dinner..our first meal at Little Hong Kong...anyone who reads my reviews knows I look for excellent Asian restaurants..our duck came with (gai lan) chinese broccoli a soup made with the meat and bones of duck.a plate of shredded duck meat and delicious duck skin on a bed of rice puffs(I dont know what else to call them) and buns and a sweet sauce..I have been wanting to stop here for awhile. They close at 9:30 pm..this is the first time I got here early enough..AND ILL WILL BE BACK! LOOK FOLKS A CHINESE MENU IS TO GIVE YOU A HINT OF POSSIBILITIES .. I CANT EAT OYSTERS SO I ASKED TO LEAVE OYSTER SAUCE OFF.. This is my go to place to meet my mom for a quick, satisfying, and inexpensive lunch. It can be busy at lunch time, so I usually arrive at 1125, just before they open at 1130. Some of the sauces can be a little bit sweeter than you might find at other authentic Chinese restaurants, but there are plenty of options to choose from to find what you like. I would be very sad if this place closed.

Thank you for being open!I used to come here all the time when I live in El Cerrito, lunch specials! It has been a good 12 years since I have been back and the food is still just as good as ever. Quality has not changed. I think what really makes this place is their vegetable friend rice, it has bok choy, mushrooms and onions you can see. Its just so tasty. I could eat that as my meal. Richard, the owner, has gone to great lengths to create a genuine and delicious Chinese food experience. Everything is good and you cannot beat their prices for the lunch special. They have all the staples you would expect from your local Chinese restaurant. The staff is friendly and the food is cooked quickly yet thoroughly. I highly recommend the clams in black bean sauce, if youre into that thing. Besides that, you cant go wrong ordering anything on the menu.

We were passing through town and looked up Chinese food and decided on this. Best decision!! The food was incredible for my entire family. No complaints. The women working there were so kind and sweet with my children (even when they got a little too loud 🤦) I never felt unwelcomed. The bbq pork was amazing!! So were the potstickers. Five stars all the way. Thank you for making our last meal in California before we head home to Idaho a good one!!

Very low quality food. I asked for a dish to be spicy and it came out without any spice. They probably misunderstood. To fix it they took my plate and added a bunch of vinegar based chili sauce almost like siracha and it tasted nasty. I told them I didn’t like it and the guy made a big fuss in front of customers to the other staff. Way to make a customer feel awkward for a mistake you made. I won’t be eating there again though because the quality of the chicken was definitely low quality filled with hormones etc. if you’re one for putting quality food in your body I would advise against here

I loved the restaurant before but this last experience was not good. She was very rude while taking my phone order. Only did order 2 chowmein and a appetizer and my bill was for 40$$. Prices has surely gone up but the quality and quantity has gone down. Ordered a crispy noodle picked it up on time and was a very soggy noodle by the time I reached home which is just 2 min away. Definitely very disappointed with my recent experience

I went with a group of friends on New Years Eve. They accommodated 30 of us. The waitress was totally awesome, friendly, and efficient and went home with a big tip from us as she earned it and deserved it ! The food was excellent. We had so much food. Two more of our friends showed up at our table of 8. They did not have to order and we still had 3 containers to take home.

They are always polite and friendly to us. They recognize us and ask about my family. The food is always good and I have never had a bad experience or dish here. There are televisions that usually have the game or news on. Our family really loves dining here or taking food to go. Their prices are reasonable especially the dinner A or B.

Ive eaten there both for lunch and dinner. As a lunch a place it serves good hardy food at a reasonable price. Dinner is a bit different. The food is good but not banquet quality. You can get some or the more traditional Chinese fare by asking, and hopefully can describe what you want in Chinese. But all in all its a good place for a fast meal at a reasonable price.

My husband and I find Little Hong Kong one of the best restaurants in this area. The garlic string beans are great and so is just about everything else weve ordered. Prices are low, servings are plentiful, and the restaurant is almost always filled with Chinese families enjoying meals around the large circular tables, always a good sign. Its low on atmosphere, but you can always carry out and eat in the quiet comfort of your own home.

Warning to the public!!! This place is unsafe to eat at not only is it filthy but the meat is not what they say it is. My daughter ordered sesame chicken when she bit into it the first piece was white but the other pieces were dark brown and stringy it definitely was Not chicken!!! Waitresses were rude! when I asked what was the meat they acted like they didn’t understand. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Tonights dinner was okay. The salt and pepper shrimps were ok. The Kungpao Chickens needed more flavor and the minced beef in the lettuce cups were okay. Overall all three dishes were okay nothing special! The reason for three stars is because of the last time we ate here a few months ago. We came down with the food poisoning and it took us until today to have enough courage to try again.

There are better chinese restaurants than this in nearby albany. When fried rice i ordered has white rice in it, i know its not seasoned and cooked properly so end result was bland tasting. Also could taste lumps of salt in it. My advice to people is you can get way better food at Panda express or elsewhere than this placeWill not go back there.

Ive been coming to Little Hong Kong for YEARS now. Not much has changed about this place which is just the way I like it. Especially since the Salt & Pepper Spareribs are my absolute FAVORITE dish from here. Ive tried it at so many other Chinese restaurants but nothing has compared to Little Hong Kong! Whenever I come here I MUST order it.I also really enjoy the Peeking Duck 4 ways. The duck with baos, duck with jelly fish, duck soup, and a veggie dish! The portion is huge and can feed a big group. They also make tasty Lobster Noodles. One of my favorite chow fun dishes from here is the one with gravy, shrimp, and pineapples. Yes it sounds like a weird combo but trust me the flavors just work so well together! The ma po tofu is good along with the eggplant!They have tasty and very reasonably priced lunch menu items which consists of a entree with a side of rice or noodles.The menu is big so there are plenty of options for everyone. If you have a larger party they also have a bigger dining area in the back thats more private as well away from other tables.Give it a try and order the Salt and Pepper Spareibs it is the best!

At first glance, the place seems like your typical Americanized Chinese restaurant serving Mu-Shu pork and sweet and sour chicken. While they do offer those dishes, the rest of the menu is pretty legit.Ive been coming here for a while and that says a lot since I am Chinese and when it comes to Chinese food, I dont settle for anything less. The place is usually pretty packed during dinner time and the parking lot is tiny, so you may have to park on the street.Even if you are getting takeout, expect to wait a bit as they normally have a line for that as well. Definitely call in if you are getting takeout, so you dont have to sit and wait there for 15-20 minutes for nothing. They do take credit card which is nice because many asian restaurants do not. The lady that answers the phone/works the cash register may come off a bit rude and impatient. Shes straight to the point and doesnt really smile. She might even hang up the phone right after you give her the order, so be sure to ask how long the wait is for your order until pickup.If youre coming in a big group, this is the place to go. For $15 per person, you can get a S*** ton of food. The family portions start at 2 people, but with 3-4 you get additional dishes on top of that. The portions are adjusted to the party size, so there will be more than enough food. We are NEVER able to finish the food we order when we go with this option. I think with 4 people we had Mu shu pork, sweet and sour soup, Sweet and sour pork, Salt and pepper spare ribs (my personal fav), Mongolian beef (another fav), Egg rolls, kung pao chicken, and bbq pork fried rice.If youre looking for good cheap chinese food, this is the spot!
