We have eaten here a few times and always enjoy our experience. They don’t have the largest dining area so it can get crowded at times. The food is good and they have generous portion sizes. The prices are on the high side compared to some other similar places, so keep that in mind.

My family and I love this place. Sushi rolls are a pretty good portion. Price is okay not too expensive. The only reason I give it 4 stars not 5 is because both of my last visit my orders have not been inputted correctly. Either they did not put it in or the pit the wrong roll in, other than that it good. I will definitely visit them again

This place was one of my favorites to order sushi to go. But one day I decided to eat there inside the place with my daughter. The waiter service was terrible. He took my plates of food without asking before I finished eating with food inside. And he gave me the bill to pay and I left my card for him to do. But I neglected myself with a call. I thought he charged my account.I got confused and by fact they charged me. Because he was above us moving the plates even the ones that still had unfinished food. I made the mistake of getting up from the table to leave because I continued with my call. The owner accosted me and with no manners in front of the customers around... to question If I paid the bill... I told him, well, I think that bcuz I left my card and he was supposed to take charge... And the waiter didnt tell me the food was paid in front either. Im on a call very distracted, My point is that the waiter service there is not good and because of that the owner embarrassed me because I was focused on my call. And the waiter was doing a job out of character. Bad services to eat inside. I do not recommend it. Just to go. And as long as you dont make a mistake because of them. The owner is like poison in a small bottle. He doesnt have a nice to tell you something like that.

I live near by and I have enjoyed madfish for a long i highly recommend due to the friendly staff excellent customer service and location can get pretty busy but still well staffed as to crank out some amazing Sushi and even better bento box combos* Updated review phenomenal service and phenomenal food had to post new photos of my favorites highly recommend!!

Orders are taken thru the cashier or thru your phone. Im not a fan of their Ramen combinations (like kimchi+miso). Lots of drinks to choose from tht soda fountain. Must Try: Chucky rolls and Gyosa Syoyu Ramen

I just order some food from this company September 25 at 5:15 and I’ve been sick ever since I ate the food so please anybody out there do not order their food from there. They won’t answer my calls I’m trying to report them and I get no answer, so please stay away from this place Lil Matt fish in Redwood City Sequoia Station please stay away I’ve been so sick. I haven’t stop throwing up. I’m about to go to the hospital. I keep calling number from the place I bought the food from, but nobody answered me and when that is not professional.

Ive had better sushi before for this price. I give it a 3 bc my order wasnt correct and deep fried sushi was too oily for me. For all this was $40. However I had a promo code $10off. I still think thats too high for this much but thats just me. I wont be coming back soon.

Decent food and service! I recommend any type of food here except ramen! We ordered chicken teriyaki charbroiled, Salmon avocado sushi roll and ramen. The chicken teriyaki and sushi roll were both amazing! The ramen broth was very like a miso soup, though you expect a rich broth for a ramen and lots of taste! I don’t recommend Ramen in this place at all, it was so tasteless that I asked for hot sauce!

Giving this 5 stars because of the sushi places that Ive eaten at on the peninsula, this rates highly. While their fare is by no means authentic, it does all taste great and its supported by lovely service from the staff and you can always enjoy a cold beer to wash things down. Will be back.

I forgot to take pictures. Brought my boy friend here, it was his first time. We enjoyed, loved and savored this experience together.I would recommend the pork gyoza (pot stickers) for appetizers as well as their miso soup and deluxe sashimi (raw pieces of fish sliced superbly). For their rolls I would recommend the Lion King, Bay Bridge, Cherry Blosom, and Alcatraz. I cant remember the others off the top of my head. Love the food! and I always do… I usually order takeout but today I decided to go in with my family.. I got up to pay after we finished and couldn’t put down a tip like we usually do. I didn’t think anything of it until the woman at the cashier told us to put a cash tip on the table since we didn’t put a tip on card. I understand some restaurants require tips but it’s usually already put on your receipt, and at Madfish it’s usually an option. She spoke to us in a manner so ugly and rude, telling us that that her and the kitchen staff didn’t want to work for nothing. The cash tip we would’ve left after she asked for it was out of the picture, my father tried to explain we usually always tip, that this time we couldn’t but she responded saying that we never tip. I felt so upset after, my family and I have loved coming here for years but now we might have to stick to take out if it means we’ll be rudely forced to put a tip.

This is the second time they messed my order. The first time they brought me something I didnt want and last Friday I ordered a bento box and the lady brought me two different orders. When I asked her what happened with my bento box she said that the roll I selected was not in the bento box. She didnt mentioned this when she took my order and I even repeated my order to her at the beginning. I used to love this place but now I am not planning to go back again. Disappointed ☹️

Their customer service is great. They have happy hour for lunch which is worth it. Didnt like the rice they use for the sushi rolls though...but the taste made up for it. They used regular flour for agedashi tofu, I like the tempura flour better. The tofu they used the the firm one...I like the soft better. Overall, the taste really made up for it so its all good.

Sushi fast food! Even though its sit-down table service, the quality is like fast food. But very tasty. We usually only get rolls and they do a nice job making up yummy combinations. Not great at rolling sushi (rolls will fall apart easily) but Im not here for the high quality technical chefs execution. Food tastes good, easy to get to, lines are not TOO bad and prices are reasonable for a ravenous family of 5.

Little MadFish has taken the prize for worst restaurant experience Ive had in a long time. Yesterday was my birthday and my husband and I decided to try them out since wed wanted to for awhile.My husband calls them on the phone to place an order for pickup. He gives the woman our order and she repeated it back correctly. We head to the restaurant, my husband gets the food which is sealed in a bag.Once we get home I open the bag and find that half of the order is incorrect. We had ordered two lunch bento boxes. My husbands order was correct and included chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, and an avocado roll. My box which was supposed to include 2 salmon avocado rolls was completely wrong. I ended up with salmon teriyaki somehow.I call the restaurant to let them know the order was incorrect. The man I speak to on the phone seems confused by the situation. He finds my order and proceeds to tell me that my order had 2 salmon teriyaki. I told him that it was incorrect and that the woman we placed the order with confirmed my box for 2 salmon avocado rolls. He eventually concedes this point after the woman confirms that the order was put in wrong.I told him that my husband is going to bring the food back. The guy tells me I can make your box. I requested that the order be remade entirely. My husband had hot food so it would be cold by the time he made it there and returned. They absolutely refused to do so. I had to explain the food would be completely cold and that this was their mistake. He still refused to do so.My husband, hearing me argue told me to just request a refund from them and that he would go to return the food. I request the refund. The man on the phone says he can only refund me for the incorrect box and not the entire order. I am flabbergasted. At this point he not only has refused to remake my order but now is refusing to refund me entirely. He told me that he would have to escalate the situation to his manager who was not in and I would have a response in 2-3 business days. I argue my case yet again. I told him this is the first time we have ordered from them and this has been an awful experience. We were clearly at a stalemate since he decided not to fulfill either request.My husband arrives at the restaurant to give back the food. The man begins arguing with him too. My husband demands the refund and after about 10 minutes of back and forth conversation finally gets the man to give the refund. I dont understand why they couldnt have fixed this up front. This is a new level of horrible service from restaurant. DO NOT GO HERE. The staff is rude and unhelpful. They dont care about customer experience. This is the first and last time I will order from them.

Bento box its great, really good size for the price. Lots of sushi rolls as well, I like to have the lion king. Usually service is really quick, but lunch time gets really busy so take your time. Desert is good too cant go wrong with the fried ice cream.

I ate here for years, but I was saddened when I found 3 hairs in my to go sushi. I definitely will NOT be returning. I returned the sushi and got a refund. I asked to speak to the manager and was given an email address. I emailed, and I never heard back. They do not care about their customers. I understand that the cooks are men, but they should still have to wear a hair net. It was as if one of the cooks had just gotten a hair cut. It was ridiculous. I was at home throwing up due to the hair I pulled out of my mouth. Nothing grosses me out more than hair.

I used to come in at least once a week but recently my experience hasnt been that great. The deep fried rolls have been really deep fried the last two times that I have gone in. The food is ok, but I did get food poisoning from a sushi roll. Parking can be tough in the late afternoon. The wait time can be very long and the staff is not efficient with seating guests. Despite having multiple tables prepared for guests, the servers leave them empty until larger tables free up and get cleaned to accommodate larger parties first. I thought that was very strange.

I dont go to this location too often but it will be my last, I went to Lunch with my wife and daughter. Service great as usual, the server brought out our food and when my wife bit into the veggie tempura she discovered a long silver hair strike #1. My daughter was eating her food and found yet another silver hair in the breading on her katsu chicken strike #2. Management apologized after i brought it to their attention seen an older lady cooking with no hair net, I lost my appetite and didnt feel like eating any longer. Took too long to be sat despite empty tables. Once we were sat, we were not provided menus. A waitress waited on diners that arrived after us, but eventually did take our order. Food was good. No complaints at all about the food. No one offered to refill our tea cups. No one asked how the food tasted. Bad service. I am a career bartender with 20 years experience. Terrible service. Tasty, good options and good price, but their rice isnt cooked long or packed firmly enough. The rolls disintegrate, especially when you dip them in wasabi+soy sauce. I also also once got a cut of sashimi that was a bit stringy. Dont get me wrong, this is otherwise a decent place to get sushi.

We decided to try this place on a whim and I will never EVER go back.I had a child with me and they sat us by the door, every time the door opened whoosh a blast of freezing cold air. Both my daughter and I were shivering.They kept trying to up sell up on everything that we ordered. The food was very rushed.My husband and I came to dinner to talk but every two minuets they kept trying to take my bento box away. Then when I asked for to go boxed, they refused and said they had to pack it. I checked the contents and they cheated me out of 3/4 of my food.Finally what upset me the most was I left a tip on my credit card and later that night I checked my account and the waitress decided to give her self and extra $3 tip via my credit card.ARE you kidding me????? I pick up the food go inside my car to eat and literally a minute after I picked up the food the soup is literally less than lukewarm.. like cold miso soup. Like how can you serve cold soup nobody likes that, and then i open the bento box i ordered and... guess what everything inside there is lukewarm but the pot stickers are even colder!! The only thing in that box which was supposed to be cold was the california rolls.. all in all the flavor was decent as always granting them 2 stars, but if ur a fan of getting your food hot.. this isnt the place to go.

We ordered a dragon roll for pickup and when we brought it home, within the first roll my mom started choking.She started gagging immediately and felt like there was something in her throat. Upon inspection we found a fish bone stuck in her throat. Her breathing was labored and we were about to call an ambulance when she was finally able to take it out. We started looking through the roll and found over 7 other fish bones in the rest of the rolls. Truly the most horrifing experience we have ever had. We will not be eating here again and encourage others to be cautious for their safety. We sincerly hope this does not happen to anyone else.

Absolutely the best rolls on the Peninsula. The assortment and combinations of rolls is unlike anything youve seen. The best part of ordering rolls is that during the day rolls are half price!Their menu also offers Bento boxes with multiple options and they do offer Ramen choices but I always stick with rolls while some friends go the Bento option.Parking isnt bad since its in a shopping center and since the the CalTrain station is just steps away its accessible to so many.The prices are low when you go during happy hour and seem right on par at regular price.I just love this place and so does everyone I bring here.

Good food. The service has been both quick but also when they are busy it can slow down. It is a small location so if you have to wait for a table it can be a bit of a cramped situation, or you can stand outside. The parking lot is FULL of other shops and restaurants so it can be hard to find a nearby parking space, though its a huge complex.

I am a huge sushi buff and as that aspect of my personal experience is concerned I found this place to be only ok.The place is small and in a strip mall area so I did not expect too much. The food itself (sashimi dinner) arrived very quickly and was overall of average quality. Maybe this is more of a sushi role and bento box kind of place but there was no craftsmanship in the sashimi, just your average cuts served at a touch below ideal temperature.Overall average.

What kind of restaurant does not have Splenda, stevia, equal or any kind of sugar substitute for people with medical issues such as myself. That being said I asked for unsweetened ice tea with Splenda on the side and heard no correction back. Then I got my tea and a container full of sugar packets with the message they don’t have sugar substitutes. If I would have been told that I would have had water. But no I wasn’t so my wife walk over to a Starbucks and brought me some herself. Did I mention I am handicapped. Look I don’t think it’s Thant much trouble to have something for medical issues. Come on a little common sense would go a long way here. Suffice to say I’m sorry does not cut it and I will probably not be returning. However that may not matter to you. 👀EXTRA CHARGE$$$$$$$$$I often bought here because my kids love it but I hadnt noticed that they charge me for the plastic where they always give me the food separately because on two occasions they gave me everything together and instead of shusshi it looked like paella rice with seafood and the crunchy was super wet and they shouldnt charge for the dish where they give you the food and if you ask for different dishes they should give them separately not all together apart as I told the cashier its ridiculous that you charge me for the plate where you are giving me the food separately, they are for different people and he replied that the owner had told him to add that charge because the plastic was very expensive so I have to bring my own dishes it is ridiculous so I will ask for separate orders or that they change the type of container where they are given Checks their receipts !!!!!!!!!!!!!
