Was getting a haircut next door, and I noticed several people getting food from Marys. So, I asked a customer who was waiting and she gave them a raving review. Expressed how the food is high quality. She recommended the pork its was her husbsnds favorite sandwich. She said she was vegan and said she loves the vegan sandwich .So I decided to give it a try. Excellent sandwich I will definately be a return customer!!!
Vegetarian was absolutly delicious---mushrooms and tofu super delicious marinade, strawberry lemonade was prob the best Ive ever had anywhere
Dont blink youll miss it. Tiny place. Awesome little sandwich shop. A bit pricey for lunch, but you get what you pay for except no napkins and everything is take out...hmmm? Is that a new environmental thing? OK. Oh, iced coffee is a nice robust coffee, and not sickeningly sweet. 5 Stars!!
The bahn mi was delicious. It was very flavorful. The vegetarian sandwich was made with very well seasoned tofu and peppers. The lemongrass chicken sandwich also had a great flavor and was the perfect lever of juicy. The restaurant is very small with only a few tables.
Been going to Little Shop of Mary for a few years now. Very tasty Banh mi sandwiches. We usually get the #4, #6 and #9 and they are all really good! Good variety of sandwiches and beverages.
A friend suggested I go to Little Shop of Mary; and that I should order #1. I did. My, this little shop knows food. Meats are warm, fresh, and tasty, and not in chunks. The vegetables are fresh, and crisp. And the prices are very affordable. I was there again today and had the vegetarian sandwich with great veggies, mushrooms, tofu, and tasty sauces. Its on Torrance Blvd. Good, easy parking.I have not met the chef yet. She was busy in her clean, warm, delicious kitchen.
Little Shop of Mary is an great family owned spot serving wonderful Bahn Mi. The owner is so sweet, and always a joy to talk to. On one occasion I casually walked in, not realizing they had already closed for the day, only to be welcomed in with a smile and still be served!The shop is small, cozy, and the perfect place to stroll in and grab a quick bite to go, or stay, if you like. Oh and the prices are great, just what you would expect from an eatery like this. This shop deserves the local love, and should be at the top of every Torrancian’s list when searching for quick, flavorful, and cheap lunch/dinner.
Great ban mi sandwiches! The roasted pork, the lemon chicken and the cold cut versions are out of this world. Small shop, better for take out.
I tried the roasted pork and the lemongrass chicken. I liked the chicken better. Its pricier than a normal vietnamese sandwich shop, but theyre generous with the meat portions. Parking on side streets is fairly easy. Will definitely come back again.
The perfect hole-in-the-wall to grab an excellent banh mi! Ive been here several times with co-workers for lunch during the week. Its never super busy but it does take a bit to prep your sandwich, so give yourself time- its absolutely worth the wait!
A nice, small French style cafe with a homely atmosphere might be the only place worth going to for Banhmi in Torrance. The sandwiches come out nice and warm with a side of fresh cut jalapeno peppers. I believe you have at least 10 different choices (including one vegetarian). Dont forget to try their ice coffee!
This is the best Bahn Mi Ive ever had. The pork has pickled sweet onions on it which I normally would have picked off (not an onion person) but I LOVE it! The lemongrass chicken bahn mi is also amazing. Our favorite thing to do is pick up bahn mis and take them to the Torrance breweries with a big group of our friends. Highly recommend!
I walked in here on a whim. I love sandwiches but Ive never eaten Vietnamese style sandwiches. I asked the person behind the counter what they recommended. It was the roasted pork dipped in au jus. I cant tell you if it was authentic but I can say that it was delicious. I was offered a cup of water while I waited. Good customer service. Ill come back
Please eat here. If you are craving Bahn Mi, dont go to Lees--go to Marys. The pork meatball is my favorite, but try one of the other 9 sandwiches Tien offers, they are so good.
Like it a lot, since I have to go to the bank once in a while, and if I get the chance I will order the #1 Pork for me and the # 6 Veggie for my wife. The bread and pickled onions add a good flavor to it. Only cards no Cash FYI.
The Thai tea at this place is the bomb!!! Its not too sweet! Its perfect. The sandwiches were good, specifically the pork sandwich. Just get the number one and two... The most popular items. Great place to support.

Roasted pork sandwhich is perfection! Bread is soft, pork is tender and flavorful, pickled onions, cilantro and aioli were great compliments. Had this at Strand Brewing, went perfect with their Beach House Amber.
Being Vietnamese woman, I have tasted a lot of Vietnamese sandwiches (banh mi) over the years. I ordered the pork sandwich over the weekend and brought it home to eat. It is not the typical sandwich I am used to. Too many pickled onions, no pickled carrots and only one strand of cilantro. The sandwich was very salty too. I guessed instead of using mayo, too much soy sauce was used therefore making the sandwich soggy and salty. The only positive thing I can say is that it came with a lot of pork meat since I am a meat eater. I will not be coming back since the price is too high for the quality of the sandwich.

Street parking is not too hard to find. This is more for take out since they only have 8 seats. Food is very fresh and delicious. They make it after the order, so it may take a while depends on how many sandwiches you get.
Favorite place in the South Bay to grab lunch. The # 3 Lemongrass Chicken is ridiculously good and their passionfruit lemonade is my all-time favorite.
DANK. The bread alone makes it killer cuz it’s so soft and fresh. Each component marinated or pickled. I be driving out of my way to come here. More expensive than some other spots but totally worth it.

Dont ask questions, dont think about, dont decide only banh mis that cost 3.25 are good. Just order the roasted pork and enjoy. You deserve it. Pretend its a torta with pickled veggies if you need to.

2020-02-11 18:14:34Nice little mom and pop shop selling bahn mi’s. Got a grilled pork one with a Vietnamese iced coffee. Drink was solid, the bahni mi baguette bread was pretty standard, not as good as the one I’ve had from Lokal in Palms. Fillings were fresh ingredients, with the grilled pork reminding me of a sweet pork jerky I used to eat as a kid back in Asia.

2021-08-05 13:45:25Two Bahn Mis you MUST try: lemongrass chicken and roasted pork. Unless you are vegetarian :-) The veggie sandwich wont disappoint. The iced coffees and teas are pretty good but overpriced for what it is. Service can be a bit slow but always friendly!

It’s a complete meal, main appetizer and dessert! And I love little businesses, especially women, and minority owned. I will back every time I’m in town for a Thursday or Friday for pickup.

2018-08-13 21:05:59This is my favorite secret lunch spot in the south bay. I always get a Vietnamese iced coffee and either bbq chicken or sesame beef (or both). More expensive than Lee’s, but definitely higher quality and bigger portions so IMO a better value.

I havent found a Banh Mi place yet in the Torrance area so I was glad that I finally found one, and found one that didnt disappoint.With Banh Mi, there a few things you can grade it on. The freshness and quality of the bread, the quality and thickness of the meat and even if there is a presence of pate, and of course the kinds of vegetables they lay on top of the meats (do chua, cilantro, jalapenos, cucumber). In this case, I ordered the Classic Cold Cut (Basically a Dac Biet) and everything was delicious. It was quite pricier than most Banh Mi that I have ordered so I cant say it was quite worth it, but it was still tasty. The contents of the sandwich had everything I wanted, a nice crunch and freshness to the bread, the meat was good and was packed, and there was a good amount of the pickled vegetables.I also tried their Thai Tea and it was perfect! There are other beverages such as Vietnamese coffee and teas so I recommend trying around.Overall, I would definitely come back here if I REALLY wanted to get banh mi. It just seems quite to pricey for banh mi which is why I knocked down a star,

2019-12-04 23:28:31One of my favorite lunch time spots! The owner is a friendly lady that is good at remembering customers faces. She keeps the menu simple, but dont let it fool you, the sandwiches are so full of flavor. If you dont know what to get, she will let you the top 3. (Mine is the grilled pork #9) Its a cult favorite with locals that stop by on their lunch hour. Its a very tiny place, so you cant always count on seating, but dont let that stop you. In January 2020 it will become cashless!!
