A pleasant setting with mint green furniture, clean tablecloth on tables, quiet relaxing atmosphere for a lunch with family. Staff greeted and accommodated us with mother in wheelchair to a booth. Tastey and not too spicy dishes were shared by family. For a neighborhood restaurant, it was more upscale than expected but 4 of us ate for $100. This was a whim choice from the family regular Chinese food go to, Good Neighbor close by. We agreed it worth returning to.

Favorite Szechuan restaurant in the Newark-Fremont area! Friendly service and delicious food that (in my experience) you can’t get anywhere else on this side of the bay. The tea smoked duck (not pictured) is also always phenomenal.

Literally do not listen to anything on here thats less than 3 stars. This place is more than worth it in terms of flavor of dishes and serving sizes. The boys and I ordered the roasted fish, tea smoked duck, crispy beef with chilis, and chicken in chili oil (cold) with a few beers each. Honestly, there was enough food for probably another three people. We did request that the whole roasted fish was extra spicy which meant that it was at the level that we enjoyed. If you are looking to explore the flavor profiles of Sichuan, I would highly highly recommend this place.

Huge portions, great food, and good prices. The spicy beef soup with cabbage thing is phenomenal, their cold noodles are some of the best ive had outside china. been going here for years, and its always been great. the servers and people are super nice here, too! very attentive service. However, I would say to avoid some of the fish options, as I didnt find them too great.

Ordered Kong Pao Chicken and its as authentic as the dish can be. They dont mix in any nonsense veggies like green/red peppers or onions like that. Just straight up chili peppers, chickens, and peanuts. They cooked the dish very well, with very strong wok hey and balanced flavors. Definitely worth a visit if you like Sichuan style cooking!

Absolutely delicious Chinese food. Ill add more description soon, but my quick overview is the service is very good with a calm family atmosphere, the prices are amazing for the portion size and quality, and my favorite dishes I can remember right now so far are:tea smoked duck (comes as 1/2 duck with the most flavorful smoky meat and crispy skin), sizzling rice, and the Beijing sweet & sour pork (less American more Chinese style which I like). Every gamble Ive taken ordering something Im not familiar with has turned out delicious.Easily my favorite place for what I think is more authentic Chinese food. No matter your background I highly recommend it.

The Most authentic chinese food Ive had in and around the bay area. Sichuan eggplant is totally scrumptious while Mongolian beef, Dan dan noodles, Sichuan style twice cooked pork is delicious too.

I don’t leave any five star review but I will make an exception for this restaurant. It’s been our go to place with me and my husband for 2 years whenever we want takeouts. No lines, very short wait time for takeouts plus authentic flavors, there isn’t anything I would complain about. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys Szechuan spicy food.

Every friend Ive taken here wants to come back. Excellent Szechuan dishes! This place is so good, tour groups from China arrive in big buses every day. My absolute favorites are dry cooked beef, shrimp, or pork, but everything on the menu is wonderful. Among our friends, it is known as the House of Spicy Pain, and until you have ascended your endorphins youll never know the sweet nuanced fragrance of the Szechuan peppercorn. Skip the white people pages and go direct to the specialties.

Review is based on my experience of food taste. will stay away from it. Oil used in the food was something different. We ordered a noodle soup which had some kind of oil, we couldn’t even taste it. From my name you can say I am Indian and May be it’s something my taste buds. Visited this place after 15 years or so and will try to remember or look at this review myself to not visit again.Just FYI they demand a TIP and not your choice.

The pork fried rice had pork that was long, thin and stringy with a weird slimy texture to it. The sesame chicken didn’t even seem like chicken at all. It was like over fried strings. No chunks of meat just fried strings. I wish I would have taken a picture to post it. My wife’s sweet and sour chicken was decent at best. We choose this place because of the 4/5 stars but we were truly disappointed as we were visiting from out of town.

I love this place and have for years now. Only order the Sichuan specialties - they are something special. If you dont care for that kind of thing then maybe this place is not for you.My favorites are hupilajiao (off menu), gan bian nu rou si, si chuan la rou, and gan bian la si ji. Other dishes are good too but those are my favorites. Sometimes they have Sichuan dofu nau and that is excellent as well.Keep in mind that my ratings are for a Chinese restaurant, not a high-end place. The service is fast and efficient. The food is authentic. The tables are clean. Thats about all thats needed to be a great Chinese restaurant. They cater to a Chinese crowd; if youre not comfortable fitting in, its better that you dont go.Still great. Order the off-menu stir fried jalapenos, if you can handle the heat.

Generous portions, great prices and friendly staff. We tried it out for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. We usually go to the Saigon Seafood restaurant next door but we will definitely be visiting this place more now. Their menu is ridiculously long but I dont doubt they do everything very well. We got their popular items such as the Sichuan Spicy Cold Bean Jello with Hot Oil ($9), Beijing Bean Sauce Noodles ($9) and their Sichuan Family Style Noodles with fish fillet ($10). Everything was packaged securely and neatly with the sauces/soups in separate containers. They also gave us a sample of their cold appetizer of chicken feet with pickled peppers which I cant find on their menu but is really good and appetizing. They have a bunch of (probably off menu) items scrawled in Chinese and posted on the counter which I believe is their specials of the day. We were also a fan of their Jade Fish Fillet ($15) which is tiny tiny pieces of fresh fish sauteed with corn, tiny cubes of bell peppers and pine nuts. Each item that was originally spicy could have the heat level adjusted to suit all tastebuds. During COVID take out orders are daily from 10:30am-8:30pm. My whole family thoroughly enjoyed each item we got and will definitely be back for more!

Ordered takeout from here. The restaurant was pretty busy (Saturday night) but our food was packed and ready in 15 minutes. We ordered the vegetarian fried rice to share, and I got their ma po tofu. The tofu was good and spiced very well. Portion size was very generous and the tofu lasted 3 servings. The vegetable fried rice was awesome and great value for money at 7.95. It had a lot of fresh vegetables. The lady who took my order was very pleasant. I would pick up food from here again.

The food here is excellent authentic Sichuan style cuisine. I really like their dishes such as their cold beef and tripe (fuqi feipian, 夫妻肺片 ), cold chicken noodles, and spicy beef (SHUI ZHU NIU ROU, 水煮牛肉). My wife and in-laws really like how the dishes tastes. They really wonder how this place can get the flavors so good.However, Im disappointed with the service especially the last time I went to dine in. First, my table was not provided with bowls to eat rice with. The waiter only brought food to the table then disappeared into the kitchen. They never checked up on us while we were eating. I also saw that there were only plates stacked with napkins in between on the table thats against the wall. I didnt see any bowls otherwise, I would have helped myself to them. Later, when two groups of non-Chinese customers came in, the staff became extra friendly to them and turned on the AC for them. Earlier, people at my table were eating rice off plates awkwardly and I was sweating the whole time I was eating since it was quite warm inside. When I came time to pay, my wife had to flag down someone. The cashier wouldnt accept less than 15% tip calculated from after tax total bill. Restaurants should not mandate minimum tipping amount. Tipping should be at customers discretion. I understand that there is a labor shortage during the pandemic, but the restaurant could have increased prices instead. My wife relented and paid the requested tip amount anyways so we wont have a commotion with the restaurant staff. In the future, we will only order takeout.

Great food, great service. I love their honey Walnut sauce but dont eat shrimp. When I requested, they custom made honey Walnut chicken for me. It was awesome. If you like sweet entree, I strongly recommend honey Walnut shrimp/chicken. So other items are also very tasty. Great ambience too.

I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. We were going to San Francisco with a travel agency, and our guide recommended this restaurant to us. We did not have enough cash on us and we needed to save them for the next few days of traveling, therefore we wanted to use our credit card. The owner did not want that, and she was blaming us for not bringing enough cash when going to a foreign country (yes I don’t know why we couldn’t decide how to spend our own money...). After she had to accept our credit card payment, she yelled to us that she smelled smoke. My dad explained to her that five minutes ago he was smoking outside. She then pushed my dad out, and told us that no one smokes inside in the US (afters my dad told her that he went OUTSIDE for a smoke), and that if u want to smoke u have to stay at least five feet away from any buildings. After we went outside the restaurant, we found that one of the employees was smoking right beside the wall. It was a very unpleasent experience. I couldn’t believe such malice could come from a person of my own race. I do not recommend it to anyone, especially for people who are traveling. It will leave you a very bad memory.

Not great looking, but food is good and very affordable (2/5 green stars)First impressions aren’t that great, tbh. It’s in a strip mall, next to Ranch 99, and the lighting and décor are pretty plain. They accommodate tour buses of tourists but I didn’t have a problem with that – I enjoyed watching the tourists! Had two things that I’ve had often – green onion pancakes and ma-po tofu – and thought they were both very good. The waiter was friendly and understood that everything had to be vegetarian. Was shocked when I got the check – the ma-po tofu was only $7 and the pancake was $3.50!Im also giving them 2/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons:• Main disappointment was that the to-go box was Styrofoam, which is pretty much the worst type of packaging for food to go (non-recyclable, high carbon-footprint, and made from a toxic monomer).• Pretty good selection of vegetarian options.• No information provided on food sourcing.• Note to staff: please ditch the Styrofoam boxes – it’s the worst!

The Kung pao chicken was less than average and the spicy meat cold dish was less than average too. If you can prevent it, dont come here. Noisy to death. Local residents must not come to eat! Terrible service, terrible food. Pay the bill and add the tip directly, which is unheard of! The restaurant is very nice! Our tour guide recommended we come here for dinner. The usual stir-fry, soup and rice are served here as in China. The waiter is very enthusiastic, it should be the foreign students nearby who came to work. I went to Dahua to buy food and wanted to eat something casually. When I entered the store, the proprietress had a bad look on her face. I said thank you but she didnt hear me. I ordered Beijing miscellaneous sauce noodles, which were fried eggs with minced meat + cucumber shreds, but they turned out to be extremely salty. Dont come here, you cant swipe your card, you only accept cash for Chinese people, you cant swipe your card if you argue, and they directly say that you dont give tips. After paying the money, the bathroom is not allowed to go. It is really not recommended to come, and I will be angry after eating.
