Great restaurant for family lunch/dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with an appetizer called queso fundido with carne asada and chorizo, really delicious! Everyone gets complimentary chips and salsa, which also good! We had the camarones costa azul, ceviche combinado and enchiladas caseras entree’s. All dishes absolutely flavorful! The service was great just a couple of times where we did have to wait for our drinks to be refilled but other than that everything else was good.

To start with the Pros first;Service was good and friendly. The food itself was not bad but nothing stood out compared to the million other Mexican restaurants. The guacamole tasted fresh and was done well. Portions were plentiful.Next the cons;The lighting was sooo dark during luch hour I had to use my phones flashlight to read the menu. The food was merely average at best. I thought the prices were a bit too high for the quality.In closing... all in all...as average as any other Mexican restaurant youve tried. Safe bet if you dont have another place in mind.

I know this place from years ago just different location. We usually go to Anaheim . We went this time in norwalk ca. We were celebrating my husband birthday 🎂 🥳 but honestly it was a very bad experience. We ordered molcajetes and 2 o 3 different plates but the molcajte was really bad 👎 😒. Usually always give you this dish in a real molcajete but this time gave us in a small ugly plastic one. I never saw this before . The portion it was really small and of course get cold really fast!! Obviously so expensive for that!! The waitress did so many mistakes and honestly we were really disappointed 😞 😔!! Im not recommend this place any more and obviously we never come back!! We paid around $180.00 dls including drinks and the tip 😳😖

Came in for early dinner, we were sited right away, Our waitress came to great us, They have a full bar and menu has meats & seafood. We ordered the molcajete and ceviche, The ceviche was very delicious but pricey for the portion we received, The molcajete had, meats chicken, beef, shrimp over sauce, very tasty. We enjoyed our dinner.

I recently dined at Compares Mexican Restaurant and unfortunately, I cannot say I was overly impressed. While the overall experience was satisfactory, I felt that the food was overpriced for what it offered.Specifically, I ordered the shrimp mix cocktail expecting a flavorful blend of seafood goodness. However, I was disappointed to find that there was barely any seafood included. The dish lacked the generous portion of shrimp that I had anticipated, leaving me unsatisfied. Additionally, the cocktail sauce seemed watered down, prompting me to add a significant amount of ketchup to enhance the flavor.Considering the price I paid for the dish, this was certainly an underwhelming experience. I would suggest exploring alternative dining options such as a taco truck, where you can find tastier and more reasonably priced Mexican food.While Compares Mexican Restaurant had its flaws, it did have a decent ambiance, friendly staff. However, in terms of value for money, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend it. If youre looking for a more flavorsome experience, I suggest giving a local taco truck a try.

Omg the salsa casera is not only extremely delicious but the right amount of spicy how I like it (be careful for those who can’t eat spicy salsa). The carne asada with camarones consta azul on point! Can’t forget about the great service!! Best asada con camarones in the area!!

Amazing Mexican restaurant! Both the quality of the food and the customer service are amazing! The portions are decent however their prices have gone up dramatically. $36 for the fajitas mixtas and I believe the combination plates are now at least $18 each. So, inflation is really reflecting here. Overall a great restaurant. Not sure that I can eat here very often at this prices though.

Took the family for my sons birthday on a busy Sunday afternoon. It didnt take long to be seated. Service was great and food was amazing! Manager was also helping the employees with seating and serving people. Very professional too! I Definitely recommend Los Compadres!

Off the bat...as soon as you enter, you are greeted with a warm hello and everyone is very welcoming. We were seated almost immediately despite the restaurant being packed.Once seated, Brenda (our server) walked up and with a warm smile and asked to take our drink orders. She came back with a delicious coffees.I was torn between a chicken or beef soup, Brenda made my decision easy and suggested the caldo de res. Iwas truly mazed at how tasty the caldo de res (beef soup) is. The meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked to perfection in a delicious broth.A must stop if youre in the neighborhood or in the mood for a delicious soup.

Really good food came with friends and had a good time. Plates are all $20 and over which I thought was pricey for something like enchiladas. Enjoyed the Jamaica. The place is lively which can be a good thing but I thought it was too loud so I could barley hear my friends talking.

My family brought me here for my birthday on Oct 28th, food was delicious, made fresh & tasted authentic. Service was great, our server was very attentive. Big portions, come hungry. They serve you chips & salsa while you wait for your food. Place gets busy so its a lil loud, but nice atmosphere. They sang to me & brought out ice cream with a candle.

By far the best Mexican restaurant in Norwalk, and a pleasant stop on our way home from the airport.My wife and I shared a chicken chimichanga and devoured a basket of chips and salsa. They didnt have Corona Light, so I got over my diet and had a Corona.The servers were all very nice and also very sociable. Food came out quick, and they didnt rush us out despite the restaurant closing while we were still eating (around 10:15pm).A staple in Norwalk and always worth the wait.

The wait to get in was quite long which is why it didnt get 5 stars... They had a chamoy mango margarita that was delicious, had lots of alcohol but good nonetheless!! I had the spicy seafood soup that had fish, octupus, and shrimp and it was real good... My husband had the chicken enchiladas and they were good too... Waitress seemed stressed cause she was going nonstop... If not in too much of a hurry this is a good spot...

My lady and I were invited to Los Compadres and we were very content with the food, the service, the portions, and and the prices. We were seated in the bar area, so we enjoyed a Dodgers Game.I strongly recommend this restaurant, WORLD CUP CLUB.🍻

I gave 4 stars because the only downside of this place is how long you have to wait. My husband called thinking he made reservations for a party of 11 and turns out they just put you on a waitlist. They have no reservations. We waited for a whole hour and some people waited almost 2 hours, but once you get in you get seated and served drinks and salsa and chips pretty quickly. We spent around $500. It’s pretty pricey, but it’s nice. Just have patience when coming here.

Some of the best Mexican food that you can get this part of town. Service took a while, but it was busy. So that’s technically a good thing.The servers were nice and the food was tasty. I recommend the chicken burrito. It’s as big as your forearm, but more delicious.

The molcajete is an excellent dish, carne asada, chorizo, cactus, cheese, fres tortillas just like eating in our hometown, service by Miguel was excellent, very attentive to what was needed at the table, condiments, refills, extra napkins etc. Good job Compadres.

I been waiting for my food for too long . I called for pick up and they said it would be ready in 15 min. I got there 40 min after I called and my order still wasnt even ready. One of the managers said it was barely being prepared! How?! They had me waiting for 20 min. The worst part is that they werentt even busy!!! No wait line for tables and not full restaurant either. The only thing they said was, sorry while they kept bring out other pick up orders of people that had just arrived. Horrible. I wanted to order with uber eats but didnt because an order that was $46.87 by pick up came up to $78!!! Because of their service fee, not ubereats but the restaurants, ita 15% of your entire purchase plus delivery fees and taxes, its ridiculous. And prices are also higher on uber eats

I was disappointed the only vegetarian option was chilaquiles, so I ordered that with scrambled eggs. It was alright, I thought the ratio of beans to eggs and chilaquiles was not adequate. My spouse had the shrimp cocktail which he really enjoyed. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. We went on a Saturday at 1:00 and it was very busy. I did bring to the managers attention that the restroom was very messy and obviously had not been cleaned in quite some time as the trashcans were overflowing, etc.

Food was really very good. Service exceptional. Great Margaritas and so were the chips and salsa. Had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Both my wife and I enjoyed this restaurant. Huevos Rancheros and my plate was Flautas (not on menu) but were very tasty. Corn tortillas are hand made. We enjoyed everything we ate as well as the drinks. Busy place but worth a few visits.

Update:The prices are high still, but the lighting they added after the remodel is atrocious. It makes everything and everyone look red. Look at the pictures. Its not a filter nor camera issue. This is exactly what it looks like inside. The interior designer should be banned from designing again.The food is still good, but they need to cut it out with the shredded cheese on the beans. Use queso fresco or something similar. Authentic Mexican food doesnt use shredded mozzarella or Monterey jack on the beans. Knocked off a star for the lighting. Knocked off another star for charging auto gratuity to a party of 5.Previous:The food is fantastic! Their service is great, but their prices are a bit high (even for the quality of food). Portions are below average. So, price and portion were enough to knock off a star.

Honest Review:I really love this place! The reason why is all the times I have been they are very quick to seat you (talking like 1min for a party of 2) and they serve you pretty quickly as well. The food is also good. Pricing is about in the middle, not to expensive and not to cheap. The atmosphere is also just okay, which is fine as I would rather have just okay than a bad or horrible atmosphere.

This is the real deal, delicious authentic Mexican food with a great staff. I had the chili relleno and chicken enchilada, everything was hot and fresh. I arrived just after 5pm on a Saturday there was already parties waiting to be seated. I highly recommend this place, get there early or prepare to wait....but worth it!!!!

There’s a few things i didn’t like about this place.1) found a very small green worm that was crawling next to my flan2) waitress didn’t understand very much english making it difficult to order. when we told her about the worm she said sorry and that was it. didn’t get another flan to replace the one she took away or a discount.3) might just be me but the food isn’t all that great..

You will have a very great experience. It has an authentic feeling, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and very appealing to the eyes. If you are going for breakfast, I recommend you have the chilaquiles verde con huevo. A good cup of coffee and orange juice will round up an excellent breakfast that gets you ready for your day. Save room for a little dessert!

Food is delicious, authentic mexican food. Plates are as big as the price but worth it. For a family of 4, we can easily spend 100 bucks. 😯 but its really good. There may be a long wait during weekends and Friday so be prepared to sit and wait. They dont do reservations on weekends which is a shame, but will continue to go.. 😉 if you have a birthday 🎂you get to wear a sombrero, a free ice cream scoop and they sing to you. 🎵🎶

Came with my dad for his birthday. Food was delicious. Our server was nice, and not really attentive. We told the front staff it was my dads birthday upon arrival, and throughout our visit, they had been going around other tables singing the birthday song and when it came for us to leave, they still didnt come by. I was looking forward to seeing my dad smile and to take a photo with the Mexican hat. That didnt happen.When leaving we notified the front staff while exiting that they forgot about my dads birthday. The only response from the front staff was, Oh really? Oh they didnt? That was it. No apology, they did not bother to make amends or to accommodate the situation. The just stared blankly. It was very rude. I am disapponted by their service. I dont think Ill be stopping by again.

Food was delicious, big plates, plus hand made tortillas. Love the drinks, kids / baby friendly, comfy chairs, clean place. Waitress and waiters nice and polite. You can reserve ahead of time, no wait. Be prepare, there might be no parking... so carpool, but its worth it.

This place is amazing! Good prices, good food. Its a small place for a total of 60 people to fit. Great service, though the place was full it took only 15 minutes to sit on a Sunday afternoon. We ate about 12:30pm. We had 3 in our party. The service is quick and easy. We ordered 2 enchilada combos, 1 childrens chicken taco plate. Rice and beans were cooked perfectly. We had the chicken enchiladas in green sauce. And we had the red chicken and beef enchiladas. I will definitely be going back!

Stopped in for breakfast. Not many options for breakfast so I opted for enchiladas. Enchiladas were ok, felt like they were lacking something. stuffed with chicken and topped with cheese with very little verde sauce. My husband ordered the carne asada plate. Both plates displayed small portions. Flavor was ok. Definitely not worth the 70.00 bill for 2 simple plates, coffee and a 6.00 orange juice. Sorry Los Compadres we won’t be back.

Food, drinks and the service are great here. My family and I visit a few times a year since it’s one of my parents fav place to eat. We brought my husbands aunt this month and just realized the prices have drastically increased. Fajita plate is now about $36, we asked for a enchilada plate with no meat and that was $28. This is overall a great restaurant but I’m sad to say it is not worth the new prices.

The food is really good here. Only bad thing is that they have dramatically raised their prices on everything. You would expect to pay the high prices they have here at a restaurant that has live entertainment, but definitely not here. I hope they are able to adjust their prices one day because I really enjoyed taking my family out to dinner there, but I wont anymore. You can get a lot more at other restaurants with the same or better quality of food they have here.

I have been coming here occasionally for years since it’s been operating as Los Compadres. Food is always great and service as well. Just had dinner a day ago and it was super busy. I waited a while, but that was fine as I got there during dinner rush hour. I love the new text message service which lets you know your turn in line. All the servers and hosts were attentive. Keep up the great work!

First off they have some good micheladas lol its a good place if you are craving like a wet burrito or some seafood but they customer service are really good place is clean it is a noisy location and the bar area is not that big at all so do not be surprise lol just letting you guys know lol would go back again in the future.Update: We came to have some lunch and my gf wanted mole as she was craving it we came back to los compadres and wait time was less than 30 mins but we both order the following enchiladas de mole and she ordered mole and i order una michelada de mango I would of rather chose tamarindo better we also order a side of guacamole 🥑 it was also good.

Great menu with all your favorite dishes and more -- vegetarians/vegans will have a bit of a harder time finding something, though. Complimentary chips were great and their salsa is the best and freshest Ive ever tasted, you have to try it. We were seated within 10 minutes during peak dinner time and service is friendly and quick. Cant say how the cocktails taste as we didnt order any, but the ones we saw being served did look amazing. One bad experience we had was that our server took over an hour to bring us a refill after I told him he brought me the wrong drink, then he didnt bring us our chips refill as we had asked for twice. I usually never leave bad reviews but this had to be done. I celebrated my birthday here with my family this week and I accidentally forgot my birthday card at the restaurant. The card was a gift from one of my family members and when I realized I had left it on the table, I called but they had already closed. I called early in the morning and a manager answered, I explained my situation and the manager on the phone told me he did not see anything in the lost and found area but to call back later that afternoon to speak with Edgar who was the manager from the night before. I called back and they had me wait 30 minutes and never responded until I hung up and called back. The manager on the phone the second time was Pedro and his excuse for the wait was that his boss was there and he got caught up talking to him. Again he says that no one saw anything. He continued to ask me how exactly it looked and I repeated myself so many times and still continued to say sorry but there wasnt anything there that I might have lost it else where. I know for a fact I left it on the table. I have a few friends who have worked at this location and they told me that the workers steal here so I wasnt surprised that they didnt find anything. I asked Pedro the manager if he had asked the bus boys, or server Jesus if they saw anything and he stuttered and said they didnt see anything. They were not helpful at all and clearly were lying.

After a $28.00 tip on a pick-up when I arrived home. We noticed an overcharge on our order. The noted prices on websites vary from what is charged. Instead of correcting their mistake and refunding the incorrect charge. Their manager told us we had until 9:39pm to drive back to their facility. They would give us a different plate when we returned the one they provided us as a mistake. There are laws that do not favor your decision on the fix as listed prices need to be charged. My husband and I ordered pork in chile verde and chile colorado, they served a few tiny pieces of meat with the salsa, refried beans spread out on the plate (2tbsp) and a good portion of rice. Poor service, overpriced, no soft drinks refill. We didnt get impresses!

Beautiful presentation of meals. The atmosphere within restaurant is elegeant but still very cozy. My server was extremely courteous. Just a gorgeous restaurant overall, I cant say enough. 💜!

My mom and I came from Canada and stayed Norwalk for a week . Los Compadres was one of the best restaurants we experienced . Good food, good service and excellent atmosphere. If you like Mexican food I recommend here and hope will come back again . We ordered white fish and shrimp dishes with rice . The amount of dish was too much for me. Came here for some good Mexican food and we werent disappointed. The portions were large, the drinks were good and the salsa and chips were great. I had the fajitas which make sure you can take home the leftovers as they were huge. Great local Mexican place in Norwalk!

Atmosphere is busy and lively. Hard to find authentic Mexican food but this place is one of them. U pay for what you get. Looking forward to going there again. Well worth it
