I would rate this higher had they a friendlier staff. People don’t seem to engage well these days. Food is good, but eventually when service deplete customers will tend to notice and the taste of having a good service will eventually overtake the taste of the food they provide. I suggest however, a friendlier staff, smile, talk genuinely, and offer a little more than what you cook, s small bag of chips or a cup of water even if not needed or wanted…being offered shows caring for customers.

Has their nachos for my first ever visit. BEST NACHOS, HANDS DOWN. They have some sorta black magic where even the chips that are SOAKED are still crunchy! Idk how they do it. Was delicious though.

Food was fine, customer service was horrible! Cashier had the biggest attitude with my entire group and was clearly annoyed when we asked her to repeat herself since she whispered at us the entire time. Then she tried charging me double for a combo when I never said I wanted double, then huffed and puffed when I called her out on it. I understand that people have bad days, but that’s no excuse to be rude to us when we gave you no reason to be.

I got really sick after eating here. I took my mom to eat here I order the roled beef tacos with beans and rice. The rice was good and so were the beans but the tacos tortilla tasted stale and old so I opened them and took out the shredded meat and ate it with the guacamole which looked good. I also added that green salsa but immediately I started to feel I’ll. My Mom was fine she had a Combo B plate. So I am trying to figure out what it was. So if you ate here yesterday and got sick put down what you had. Also, the lady was a bit rude when taking my order, she was like showing off her nails or something making them clickity click. I would probably not eat here again.

I normally love this place but the service was terrible today. I had to repeat my order to the short girl taking my order 3 times, and though annoying, it wasn’t what made me want to post a review. When she called my number, she left it on the counter and walked away. I had ordered a horchata as well and it wasn’t there. When I brought it up to her, she said “well, we’re out so it’s gonna take a while. Do you want to wait?” Yes, because I freakin paid for it. She made what a normal pleasant experience something awful by just her “service” alone.

This place is cozy with lots of parking available. I like their salsa bar with fresh carrots. Love their fish tacos and soda refilling station. Staff are friendly but orders take a bit longer than expected.

I would normally give it a 5 star bc I love this place and never have any issues but as I’m sitting in the parking lot typing this out my experience today was not it. I called in an order for a breakfast burrito at 10 a.m and get here by 10:30 and my order isn’t ready (which is okay I normally have a lot of patience) and had a few others walk in and order as I’m paying but how is it that they all get their orders and leave before me and it takes until 10:45 to get my order? They weren’t so friendly either. Not to mention the other orders were bigger than mine. Someone had 4 burritos, another had 3, and someone else got 1 but they all came after me and ordered as I got there and paid….I’m never picky or mean but it doesn’t take that long to make 1 burrito that was ordered at 10 a.m…

I got a DoorDash order and I felt so bloated after eating I thought it was normal until I woke up in the middle of the night and got violently ill. I haven’t slept since and my stomach is cramping terribly, I thought I overate maybe but it just hasn’t stopped this is the most pain my stomach has felt in awhile

One just has to make sure they order the right food in the correct days. The meat can be way to salty. But the green salsa is top-notch. I have never had bad service. But I do know others whom have. Still, this is my go-to spot for some taquitos.

I went in earlier today. I ordered 5 Shredded Beef Tacos and a Bean Tostada. I paid for my order which was a little bit over $24. The girl waiting on me asked if I wanted hot sauce cups. I asked her to give me 6 cups. She gave me 5 cups and I said I needed one more. She looked at her coworker who then looked at me and pointed at the little chart they go by for handing out hot sauce cups. 5 was the max for me to have. So, I cancelled my order. I have been eating at this place for many years now. I eat there 2 to 3 times a month, if not more.They lost a sale over one small hot sauce container. I had 6 items but was given only 5 hot sauce. Well they lost more than a sale, they lost a regular customer. I will just go elsewhere.

This place is one you dont want to waste your $s. Very over priced, food was cold & not worth almost $30. for two combo plates & 2 sodas. I had a taco & cheese enchilada, cheese not melted, taco was placed on top of beans, soggy taco that broke into several pieces. The other combo plate was a rellano, again the cheese was not melted & neither plate was very appetizing. I know it depends who is cooking ! Reviews show lack of consistency. My guest & I were there on a bad cook day ! The lady that took our order was lacking as well. We dinned outside which was the best part of this experience . We have been to other Taco Shops on Florida Ave. & Esplanade which were far better . In my opinion, this.place Needs a better manager & changes in their staff . Will not be eating there again.

I called in to place an order and someone answered the phone but was not present when I was placing the order. I was providing my order and no one was asking me questions regarding my order. I kept saying hello, is someone there? and no one was responding. I would hear the girl taking other peoples order and my order was never taken. If she had to go do something she could have asked for me to wait but nothing was ever communicated. I have had bad experiences with this taco shop and the customer service is not great. Wont be returning to this shop.

This place is great. The staff are quick, friendly, and professional. The food was ready fairly quickly (for a 4 person order) and it was delicious. Highly recommend any burrito or torta from here if youre ever unsure what to order. Also has a nice, roomy, shady outdoor seating area.

Very unsanitary. Tonight Im waiting for my chicken pollo order. Then all of a sudden, I hear several bouts of sneezing, it was the older male cook, woth white complexion and kinda salt and pepper hair. He was sneezing and his nose out of the mask. Very dirty and he is in the kitchen cooking.i just looked at him and didnt bodge because he looked at me and was even smiling. I find it lack of any concern especially that we are talking about the food. Whoever owns this one your staff need to be trained.earlier on, the lady taking my order couldnt hear me because she got an airport on her ears. I have to tell her to remove that. So she could hear me.Super not good experience. Especially the sneezing while inside the kitchen with Covid19 Omicron virus and not only him several people sneezing too. Do they even have a swab test before they can work.?? Sanitization and expecting tesm this has to be repeated.

Been going here for years great tasting food but the reason why I had to repost my review is I had pork Verde Taco the other day with their homemade salsa I ended up getting food poisoning this happened I believe August 9th 2022 and it is now Saturday it was just awful having food poisoning is an out-of-body experience I dont wish upon anybody it was the worst 3 to 4 days of my life Ive had diarrhea for the whole duration and I still have it now thank God the chills and the sweats went away I was up going the bathroom every 30 minutes barely got any sleep not kidding when I say out of body experience this will be my last time going to that taco shop they need to take better care of their food this was one of my favorite spots, sorry guys you lost the customer, oh yeah PS my daughter got sick as well.

I think the food here is great . Have never had a bad meal, however the prices have gone up at least twice in the year Ive been going there. I cant see paying $10 for a meal that I have to stand in line to order.I dont mind the wait for the food because each meal is being prepared individually. This place is one of the best Mexican tasty food type places all around. The cooks are amazing, the food is outstanding, and the place is extremely clean. One tiny spill on the condiment bar and they run over and get it cleaned up. Prices are good. Love their breakfast burrito with bacon, carne asada gotta, and believe it or not, they make awesome fries.

Today I went to this taco shop. Lots of phone orders. The problem was until the phone orders are paid they dont make your food. I stood in line ordered my burrito and it took 34 minutes because they were trying to do all the phone orders as the customers paid...totally wrong. You order in advance so when you arrive you pick up or food or wait 5 minutes and then go home. Service needs to improve. By the way the salsa bar was a mess. Food was good that why I gave it two stars not one. Let me know when you place an order if you find the same problem.

The food is mediocre. Ive owned 2 restaurants and Im it expecting too much. The restrooms were filthy as toilet paper stuck on the ceiling in the restroom. Never again will I eat here. Found this spot by chance early morning while I was dropping off my hubby. Their California burritos (no beans) are so amazing, especially with their house pico, and honestly I don’t like tomatoes so it tells you a lot. This is definitely our go to stop when it is time to drop him off. We drive 2 hours to this area 3-4 times a month depending on his work contract. It’s the best California burrito that I’ve had in so long.

I use to like this place but over time it has gotten really bad. I order chicken taquitos and a carne asada torta. The taquitos tastes like frozen food fried in dirty oil smelt like cinnamon. My torta was soggy and taste like it had been sitting there for a while. The meat had no flavor and guacamole on it was little to none. The place smelt like a back up sewage line in which they said it was the restroom that was out of order. The little girls here dont really care and have attitude that makes you not want to come back.. Im officially done with this place. Frozen taquitos and flavorless soggy torta.. Prices on them were extremely high for it not to be worth it. Do yourself and your stomach the favor and go somewhere else.Udpate: both my husband and i got food poisoning from this place! Tried thier breakfast burrito, ham, egg, refried beans, some type of potato hashbrown. It was tasteless, it looked bland. I opened it up to add salsa but it still tasted bad. The beans were watery. There was a nice little crunch from the hash, but otherwise not a good breakfast burrito. It was 5.46. Maybe i shouldve tried their other breakfast burrito. The regular basis I have come to this taco shop and over time they just continue to charge more and give less my most recent experience was ordering their taquito meal they only put toppings on half the taquitos, whereas if you go to any other taco shop anywhere else the well-known standard is that the toppings are across the top of the entire amount of taquitos the best I was able to get from the person at the register was they were willing to take the toppings that I already had on there and spread them across the entire amount of taquitos but that would completely ruin the experience of the taquitos theyre supposed to have a nice layer of toppings and like I said if this is how it is nice layer of toppings across the entire taquitos

Los Portales Taco Shop is the best taco shop in San Jacinto. The especial plates are a wonderful buy. My favorite is the five taquitos with shredded beef. Lots of guacamole, sour cream with lettuce on top. Fantastic!
