First time visiting. It was a little too busy for me on a Sunday afternoon, but I would definitely return again. The bookshop is set up like a maze so its a fun little shopping experience. Used book prices are very reasonable.

This is such a delightful little used bookstore. It has a couple styles of small plants at the front that you can buy for about $20, but large plants everywhere, birds and a fish tank as well.Their store’s bookshelves wind around in semi circles, which makes you feel a little more like a wanderer instead of the normal rows.They also know the value of focusing on books. Instead of all the spines facing out, they face book covers out every few books. This helps draw people attention to a book and, in my opinion, makes it easier to end up buying it. Prices seem to range from $3 and up to standard pricing for new books.I will definitely stop in here regularly.
Beautiful place!! So many plants and all the books make it such a cool place. Its smaller than expected but i found good books at a great price. Highly recommend this place, i will most definitely be back.

Lost Books is such a unique adorable bookstore, that has a variety of new and used books. The entrance has a tunnel of plants to walk through, and the books are displayed in a circular maze shape which makes the store even more fun to explore!

Such a charming bookstore! It was bigger than I anticipated, but the design/architecture and abundance of plants really set a relaxing ambiance. The books are priced very affordably and I loved their foreign book section as I was able to find a Japanese book and some French books. I will definitely be returning in the future! There are also a lot of other cool restaurants and places to check out around the area. The parking structure in the back is huge and free for the first 9 hours I believe, it’s great(:
I just discovered this place today. My boyfriend and I happened to be walking down the street and this beautiful used bookstore appeared. This store is so serene that it immediately became a new happy place for me. It has an aquarium, real birds (in a cage), and plants all around the store making it very relaxing. The bookshelves were set up in a maze-like pattern but it was very easy to navigate and they had a good selection of books. The woman who was working there was fantastic, very nice and helpful and gave off a very positive vibe. They also sell records and DVDs there. I will definitely be back often.

It is the perfect sized bookstore, has a variety of books with a great flow to look and pick them out. The plants give the book store a home feeling and I never wanted to leave. The staff were amazing and super friendly. Also, a super cute place for a mini date.

A must visit! The entrance is photo worthy as well as the hand made bookshelves. The store is packed full of used and new books. Definitely a better selection of books than the last book store which is the cousin of this store. The entrance is on the street side. There is a large 3 hour parking behind the store. There is no sign for the book store but the bookshelves and plants on the front tell your that this store is not all it seems. Incredible decor. I went when it was still a soft opening. There are bathrooms in the rear and a vinyl collection being assembled. You walk in a very circular pattern and you get to see all of the books. The shelves are labeled but it is sometime easy to miss and part of the fun is to discover what section youre viewing. Definitely coming back when they have more books.
The only charm point of the story is that its instagrammable. One would mistake it for a plant shop versus a bookstore. It seems as though they lack everything that is the bare necessity of a busines. Customer assistance is non existent, a web site doesnt exist, no phone to get through. I Understand the concept is to be a hidden gem of books.... But where are the books? Where is the service? Where is the charm? All I see is plants and hipsters, who dont seem like theyve actually read a book since middle school.You can even look at the review photos of this place and see its just pictures of plants.If youre looking for a bookstore that has knowledgeable workers, a good selection, with options to check stock and call ahead there are so many other places to go in the area. I wouldnt recommend wasting your time here, unless its to look around once and get it over with. At least the plants look nice if youre into plants.
Do not buy books that you would want to give as gifts from this store! As I was purchasing a gift book, I asked if I could have a receipt in case my recipient had already read the book and would like to replace it with a different one. I was told they do not provide that option. I wanted to cancel my purchase, and they refused even though I was still at their counter!!! I will never shop here again.
My sister and I are plant lovers and book lovers. We felt like we had entered paradise when we visited this incredible store. Theres a book and/or a plant for every taste. A real asset to the Montrose mall.

I was delighted to find this store right down the street, as were several customers who were there at the same time. You can wander about and lose yourself in the pleasant atmosphere, kind of yesteryear and very cozy. All sorts of finds, from succulents to CD’s to used books of every description. It’s lovely and well arranged, and the staff are very friendly.
I love a bookstore that feels like a little nook hidden away from the rest of the world, and this bookstore feels just like that. The greenery and the endlessly curving shelves always make me feel a little romantic, like they’re drawing me in to a different place.
Best new(ish) place in Montrose! It is seriously so beautiful, so well designed, and has everything that makes me happy. Books, plants, records, coffee, and handmade beauty products. Ive bought some really good books & gifts here, and sometimes even just walk through for fun.

A bit magical and very cozy. A little bit of everything... books, coffee, gifts, plants, etc.. Very charming bookstore. May not be able to find a complete collection from an author but they havethe popular books.
They have new & used books. They have a small section in spanish books. Also, sell new & used records, and sell plants. And may I add that their customer service is great! Awesome place!!!

Stopped by walking down Honolulu Ave. Large selection of books. Some pretty unique finds. Great place to check out for something you’re looking for.

Its such a lovely space. The ceiling is also decorated with plants. To see this place, you have to pay for parking on the street side, and there is a free parking lot behind the building. You can read books and see beautiful spaces in every corner. The friendly staff is also pleasant.

Several nooks and crannies to sit for a few, read and take in the ambience of the space. Selections were reasonable and the prices were as well. The birds space was a great touch. I was so busy buying up books I forgot to take a picture. Would recommend this space and Ill definitely keep coming back.

2023-05-20 16:52:00Wide selection of used and new books, plants for sale, and records in the back. the maze-like setup lends itself to hours of exploring, and they have cozy chairs to take a rest if you get tired. they have a lot of art books and film creation, literary criticism, witchcraft, LA history, paranormal romance, LQBTQ+, manga, etc. they don’t have many children’s book, but that’s good it doesn’t overlap since it’s closely located to the once upon a time bookshop.there’s a new bird cage installation, and the bird noises can be calming or no, depending on your preferences.there’s a $1 book section out front, and the plants out there also prices on them.they have restrooms in the back, but you can’t use them until you checkout and show a receipt, which rushes the shopping a little bit, unfortunately.

Nice workers and the birds inside are a nice touch. No longer can go in thru the back so park nearer the front or know youll have to walk down the alley and back to get in.

2022-10-28 18:03:55Beautiful plant filled bookstore! When you first enter, you get to walk through a lush plant tunnel. The shelves curve around the store in a bit of a maze, which I enjoyed though can make it difficult if someones trying to get around you or go the opposite direction since the space between shelves is rather narrow. They also have a birdcage with a variety of small birds near their sci fi/fantasy section. Though not as big a selection as some other places, its still a fun place to browse, and Id highly recommend a visit.

This building has held many a business throughout the last 3 decades and this book shop is by far my favourite of all. A very good use of space.

2023-10-15 03:37:14Me and my husband often go here ands find comfort from nostalgic vintage books and vinyls. Even among plants we can find very eclectic and beautiful one. Just hope their vinyl supplies get refreshed more often. All in all, I’m just grateful.

2021-07-10 03:22:14Loved the atmosphere of the bookstore. Felt a soothing and relaxing mood from the plants, but at same time felt an adventurous sensation as I walk through the maze of book shelves. All the books were unique and each book felt as if they had history. Amazing place to find new books even for those who dont enjoy reading. Definitely recommend this place for everyone!

There isn’t as much inventory as there are in The Last Bookstore, but still a treat for book lovers.We came in on a Monday around 1pm and there are very few people. There is public parking around the corner. Save some time to explore the area, the whole strip is worth visiting.
