Finally found our go-to Chinese place. Everything weve tried, spicy salt chicken wings, sizzling rice soup, taro and pork belly, orange chicken, pot stickers, and everything else I cant remember the three times weve gone so far. Every single item has been stellar, not a single miss. Bravo.Service is very attentive and goes out of their way to make sure all your needs are met.Only complaint is that the mens bathroom could use a deep clean. Womans was clean and tidy though.

Regret ordering from these guys. Fried rice was so bland, the worst I’ve ever had at any place in California. The salt pepper chicken was even worse! So overcooked and dry. It had barely any onion and jalapeño in there. I’m seriously shocked that a place like this is actually still in business.

One of the few Chinese restaurants in Folsom that serve authentic Chinese food. The lunch menu is great value for money and the a la carte menu has a variety of other less well known dishes that are more popular in Asia, and very well executed. Service is a bit slow because theres only one server.

Pretty good house chow mein. I wanted to pick up some noodles to go and decided on their house chow mein. Lots of meat in this dish; beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and calamari. Green and white onion along with baby bok choy. The to-go portion was huge. It was $13 and easily 2-3 meals. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because it had a bit more oil than necessary for a chow mein dish.

I was craving for the salted fish fried rice and found this restaurant. I placed an order for take out and got it in around 20 mins as the lady said when taking my order.- salted fish & chicken fried rice: the rice was fluffy & good. It had lots of salted fish pieces but need a wee bit of seasoning. The portion was good- salt & pepper fried tofu: the tofu pieces were good & crispy but nothing special.The food was good and I’ll try different items next time

I went there for the first time back in 2021, and the food was excellent, maybe even one of my favorites in Folsom along with Rice Express. The Mongolian beef was top notch. However, I tried again in Nov 2022, and the quality just seemed like it dropped heavily. The pork fried rice didnt have much in it, super dry, and extremely bland. The beef chowfun was okay but still lacking in flavor a bit. Sizzling rice soup was thankfully still good.Im hoping I just went on a bad day and they didnt actually drop in quality

Honestly I really love this place for Chinese food. I’d say one of the best and closest to authentic Cantonese cuisine you can get in this area. Good portions, tasty, and fresh ingredient. I don’t see all the drama about service mentioned in other comments, the servers were actually really nice and friendly ( which is reallllly unusual for a Chinese place ). 5/5!

Unfortunately the food was soggy and plain. Not likely well be back. Sweet and sour pork was advertised as coming with vegetables and pineapple but both were missing and it was soggy. Veggie chow mein had giant noodles with minimal flavor and no veggies. The eggplant was super soggy. Lastly the crab wontons were also soggy.

Tried Lotus 8 for first time with my daughter and 6 year old granddaughter. The Honey Walnut Shrimp and sauteed green beans were beyond our expectations. My granddaughter loved the chow mein noodles. Excellent meal and will definitely go again! Highly recommend it.

Just went to lotus 8, they just hired a new employee, who is very rude and disrespectful. I ordered a clay food, she brought me a different food. Was not even in clay pot. Gave me attitude and took the food away. Manager could not speak english at all. Did not fix the food, did not bring another food out. And called me a liar. The waitress got fired from her last job because she gave attitude and they lost ALL their customer. I know the same thing will happen to them. Will NEVER go back to them. I never lie to anyone for anything, let alone for food.

Sharing this review similar to Gene. I was from the Bay Area and I still think they have mostly good Chinese resto in Bay Area and the Canada cities. I bought their house fried rice and I agree with Gene K that the rice was bland and dry. They put in two shrimps(overcooked) couple of large beef, chicken & BBQ slices. They also put two small cuts of lettuce, some very cooked green onions and no green peas ( their style). The BBQ pork tasted stale to me. The squid they put was tough. I don’t know why they don’t advertise their Fujian fried rice on menu coz they’re good. I would cut the BBQ tiny squares so the staleness taste won’t appear. I would also cut other meat smaller. Even though they’re a Chinese resto, I hope they could do an Indonesian Nasi Goreng fried rice on menu or other Burmese/ Asian style food on menu, they’re good. Two stars because of the Fujian fried rice.

Ordered take out, all chicken dishes. American broccoli checked was okay, but the pieces of broccoli were huge. Crispy chili chicken was not at all seasoned well, seemed like they took some fries chicken and threw some sauce in a hurry that just landed on half the pieces, again, the pieces were really big and very chewy. Could not really eat the food, forget enjoying it. And $50 for this kind of food... :( :( :(

We’ve been going to Lotus for about a year now. The foods always good and large portions. We placed a large order through Door Dash and two of the items we ordered were missing. We first called our Door Dasher to confirm the order wasn’t left in his car by mistake. It was not, so we called Lotus 8 and explained the situation and they refused to help us out and we’re rather rude to me. I felt as if the individual on the phone thinking we were trying to get a free meal or something. I even offered to come to the store and pick up the two missing items. He still refused to help us out. Luckily Door Dash refunded us for the two missing items. I don’t think we will be giving Lotus 8 our business anymore after being treated like that.

Im not being harsh, the food lacks flavor. The black pepper chicken with lots of veggies does not meet the basic Asian cousins flavors. For being in an upscale area it disappoints. The food is 10/10. The first time I came, I found one of the ladies to be a little judgemental towards my two friends and myself. We werent being rowdy, loud, or anything.. we barely talked at all, but she just seemed like she felt as if we didnt have the money at first. I cant rate this place high enough! Lets face it ... most of the Chinese restaurants in our area are run down and serving sub-par food. I was dying to find a decent Chinese place that served fresh ingredients and some unique menu options. Not only is everything FRESH, these guys know how to cook! Im what you can call a Chinese food connoisseur. Ive grown up my entire life eating chinese food so I am pretty picky. The best Chinese food in the folsom, granite bay, roseville area is Lotus 8. Trust me I have tried everyplace in these 3 cities and nothing comes close to the quality at lotus. Ive gone there so much they know me by name and Ive gotten to know Chi and Lina which are always the one whos working the front. Ive read through some of the negative reviews and most of what was commented I didnt experience with the exception that I agree the eggrolls arent that great. I know some of you have a difficult time ordering so here are my top choices of stuff to order so please try them out and tell me what you think. Beef Chow fun with blackbean sauce, fish filet clay pot, honey walnut pawns, salted egg yolk prawns, roasted duck, braised e-fu noodles, Yang chow fried rice, sizzling black pepper beef, salt and pepper pork chops and steamed soy fish. I really wish they had more seafood options but if you buy clams, crabs or lobsters and drop it off to them or bring with you. They can make it any style you want! I guess because of the demographics in the area, they dont get a lot of requests for seafood so they dont carry it in stock. Well, again, I love this place. Tell Lina or Chi that -- Trung told you to try this stuff. Maybe they will give me a discount next time I come. =)

I just tried to call the restaurant twice to complain and see how long for Christmas eve dinner. I ordered around 6pm - at 8:00pm so another 45 min is a bit ridiculous on their part - they gotta quote times better than that which they close at 9pm - I called again the next day and they have a message that Lotus 8 is shut down for health code violations!!!#DoorDash #Dashers were getting their orders backed up or being pushed to the very last - had 10 DoorDash Dasher waiting and more showing up and kept waiting for over an hour which some DoorDash Customers cancelled their huge orders!!! Edible but egg rolls seem like frozen and deep-fried in our extra hot oil mushy on the inside also ordered a shrimp and pork platter that came not spicy at all with two shrimp the service was horrible and the prices were way over priced the restaurant was not busy mentionedTo the waiter that the shrimp platter only had two shrimp seemed very unconcerned I will not be going back to this restaurant and it’s a shame I do live right around the corner and would love to have a wonderful experience there consider yourself warned Ps the one star was that I only had to ask once to keep my tea full after I caught up with her
