Loveboat sushi was pretty good the first few times we tried it a few years ago, but we stopped going because the quality of their rolls became noticeably poor. We decided to give it another try today, and they did not disappoint again with their lacking presentation. Not sure who makes their rolls, but the Hawaiian roll and Marine boy roll we ordered for to go was so sloppy and poorly made! It looked like they made the rice roll and then just slapped on pieces of tuna and salmon the top of the rolls. The taste was ok at best. Maybe they pay more attention to their food served in-house (it certainly looks that way from other photos), but they certainly could use some quality control for their to go orders.

Stopped at this sushi place ordered steak hibachi it was ok. Came with salad that looked like no effort was made to make it. 2 gyozas they were ok but only got two. Rice was good. My boyfriend ordered the lunch combo I will say tempura was delicious. Overall its ok place to eat if your hungry just passing by.

Really great spot. Looks like they have fresh wasabi, I should have asked for!Try the different sake creations. Seared albacore salad was so tasty. Had like creole blackening seasoning.The French kiss was also great. The rice is replace with crab Mayo mix.I wish the menu had more options, more steak nigiri options, etc. but was tasty overall. Great service and got quite busy during lunch time.

Food: Pretty good sushi, but especially for the price. Its not low price so much as it is that Love Boat started out somewhat pricey and then didnt seem to increase their prices as much as other places from inflation so now its at a price that beats other places.Their French Kiss sushi item is shockingly good, but the portion size for the price is a little disconcerting. I usually get sushi with eel/unagi in it when I get sushi, and this place makes sure to cook the eel perfectly in my opinion. Their miso soup is honestly some of the best Ive ever had in North County, beating out more expensive places. Its not too salty, with a mild, warming taste that feels wonderful to drink.My wife prefers the salmon teriyaki/mixed tempura bento when we come here, and shes pretty picky with teriyaki salmon so thats definitely a good sign. The portions that come with the dinner bento are quite large as well, and she usually has to share with me just to be able to finish it.Only reason I give the Food 4 stars is their best items are rather high price for the small portions you get.Service: Service indoors is great, but it can be hard to get their attention when youre sitting in their outdoor dining area. They seem to have a lot of wait staff but its very busy so I dont consider it a huge issue.Atmosphere: inside is a well lit cozy eating area with lots of sandy colored wood for decorations. I love the way the inside looks in the evening, but I might be biased because I dont like to eat outdoors at restaurants as much.Take out is a little difficult, especially if youre doing pickup. If you dont use a food delivery app, you have to call and their ETA for when it will be ready can be a mixed bag. I once was told 15 minutes and ended up waiting almost an hour, but its usually not that bad.

Awesome sushi spot in San Marcos! Service was top notch and the food was perfect! Plating and presentation was superior and artistic. Tempura was crispy and edamame was warm and not to salty. The chef was able to do a california roll on cucumber instead of seaweed for me (i do not like seaweed) . Most places wont do that, so I was super pleased. The French Kiss was fresh and thick and wonderful colors. The place was clean and tidy. The decor was attractive. It was moderately crowded at dinner time, but service was prompt. Parking is plentiful but crowded.

What a great sushi menu they have. Very delicious and fresh. They have some sushi rolls that I’ve never seen at other places (like summer roll). They also have nice dinner options. Waiters are very professional, know menu, overall very friendly. This place is very very busy Friday through Sunday, may need to wait a bit, but totally worth it. This is our go-to place for a great sushi time. Highly recommend to try.

This place is the bomb! Ryan the waiter is so personable, fast, always checking in on us to make sure we had what we needed and made our dining experience the best! The sushi is so delicious and fresh! The atmosphere is so inviting and we love the music! We will definitely be back!!

Smaller restaurant located in the Grand Plaza Center of Las Posas. Very good place if your looking for a healthier meal, ordered the Chicken Teriyaki I liked that I came out on a hot skillet kept it warm till I finished it. Staff is very friendly must have been told “have a great day” by 3+ employees while leaving.
