Great hole in the wall restaurant in a modern building. Hard working staff running this production. So good. The line can be long. Get there before the night munchies crew do. Closes at 9. Go at 5 for a quick in and out.

02/23-40 minute wait 6pm Thursday. Staff still cripplingly slow. Prices gone up, now almost $15 for a 3 item.11/22-Wait times are the same slow, usual - 20-25 minutes during dinner time 6pm Friday with the line wrapping around to the entrance. Its mostly due to the staff. Eg to scoop up some shrimp vegetables for your combo, they might scoop to move it around 2-3 times in the tray before a final scoop to put that in your foam takeout container...each time!? So you can wait several minutes just for 2 combos to be filled.Lucky used to be a bargain with 3 item combos under $10 stuffed with a ton of food, but today, a 3 item combo cost $14.02 after tax. Thats about a 40% jump in prices versus a year or so ago! A 3 item+2 item is just over $25.Unfortunately, food quality has been uneven the past couple of visits. For example, the BBQ pork today not only has little BBQ taste inside the meat, its so hard and tough! Even a Dennys steak is more tender!

Found out that people come from all over to eat their fried calamari. They make tons of it. Their other food was okay but its really the calamari that is best. There were probably 4 customers before me in line who bought a pint or a quart of calamari then all the people behind me which was about 10 also bought a pt or qt. My papa got the fried rice and orange chicken and liked it and I got the house chicken and noodles. I didnt think the house chicken was very spicy considering it has jalapenos in it but when I finished my food as leftovers the next day I enjoyed it. We both had trouble finishing what we got the first night so ended up having it next day. Would do it all the same next time. I havent found any place better near me yet so I probably will go here again when in the mood for Chinese food. Papa was a little disappointed they didnt have sweet and sour pork but the orange chicken ended up being enough for him anyway. One thing you should definitely be aware of before you go is have cash ready to pay for your food. It is a cash-only business.

Wow, huge servings! This was my first time here and now I know what everyone has been raving about! This is Chinese fast food at its best. The prices are comparable to a popular chain of similar restaurants in the area, but so many more choices and double the serving size; the pack the boxes so full they barely close. Be prepared to wait in line as they are very popular. You can order ahead, but even for that there is a small wait. I havent had good egg foo young in years, theirs is the size of my face and it was really good! I also tried the kung pao chicken, the bbq pork (sooo good) and the fried squid. All very good. I will definately be back!

Lucky Chinese Food has been around for decades. The food is always fresh and consistent (good turnover!). Much better than typical Chinese takeout. The three item combo is so big that rice and/or noodles with two items go in the large Styrofoam clamshell and the third item is put in a secondary small bucket! A 3-item combo easily feeds two average people. Add one large drink and give the rest of the $$ as a tip makes a meal for two only $10 each. Thats way cheaper and healthier than any fast food place.BBQ pork is usually sliced for each order (except during busiest times) so it s always moist; its hard to find better, especially for the price.Orange chicken has wonderful flavor and texture, but some want more meat inside.Fried squid is a treat. Vegetables are fresh and properly cooked. A variety of ala carte noodle and rice dishes are cooked to order.Pint and quart buckets of the various dishes are also available if you want ala carte takeout.Overall, Lucky Chinese Food is much better than getting the usual junk food, but you dont have to dress up to dine there (who am I kidding, this is SoCal, nobody dresses up for anything anymore).Highly recommended.

The orange chicken was amazing and the noodles were great as well. Definitely will go back. I would pass on the egg rolls next time.

This place is always busy. Theres always going to be a 10 min wait or so today it was more like a 20 min wait. I came here because i hadnt been here in a long time and i was in the area, and i was craving Chinese. Customer service is ok, food is ok as well. Is not worth the wait. I probably wont come here unless Im in the area and really craving Chinese but i wouldnt go out of my way to eat here. On a positive note, i was short $1 . This place is cash only, so i told lady to remove one of my items since i was short $1 however 2 random people in line offered to pay the$1. I ended taking$1 from a young man. Thank you so much if your reading this i really appreciate it.

Sure they give you a lot of food but it was just gross. Prices are equivalent to say Panda Express but chicken chow mien noodles were soggy and oily nchicken tasted like dark meat turkey. Orange chicken was burnt and didnt taste like orange chicken. We spent $35 and gave entire meals away after taking a bite of each.. very disappointed. This is equivalent of the $1 Chinese food buffets. Customer service was good and place looked clean at least...my only positive parts of this experience.
